Great experience with this company. The install team, Dana and crew, were excellent.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Feb 07, 2019

Hi ***, we are so happy that POWERHOME delivered a great experience for you. Now comes the best part, enjoying all the power provided by your panels. All of our best to you!

We have been happy with Power Home Solar from the salesman (Justin), to the installation crew and customer service. We had our initial meeting with Justin on January 5th. We were told 6-8 weeks for installation. We a received a call a week later saying that our system will be installed on January 22nd. On the 22nd, Nate and his crew showed up on time and worked through the day and finished around 5:30pm. They were very friendly, helpful, and respectful and kept us informed of each step of the installation process and cleaned up before they left. We are waiting on final inspections before we can turn the system on which should be within the week. Not sure if it’s a fluke that we got our system installed so quickly, but we have been happy so far with the process and are looking forward to using Solar Power.

Hi ***, glad to see that all has gone so well, and so quickly! I know not having an HOA really helps speed up matters, and I'm sure that was one of the factors that helped you. All the best in being powered by the sun!

Hi ***, welcome to solar! Glad to see that we could take care of business for you. All the best as you begin to be energized by the sun!

This company is beyond shady. they completely mislead you on the tax credit that your supposed to get and they do not disclose to you whatsoever that it is a NON REFUNDABLE credit. it says no where in the contracts or on their website that it is a NON REFUNDABLE tax credit and they are doing absolutely nothing to assist with the situation. my sales rep completely mislead us and stated that we would be able to apply the tax credit to the loan within 18 months to keep the loan payments low and then said "sign here stating I explained that to you" and because I signed it apparently I'm stuck where I am at but that does not give them the right to advertise this incorrectly. Now I've found out that I can only collect 1-2 thousand of the credit per year so I'm not going to be able to make the 30 percent 18 month payment and I now cannot afford the monthly payments and not only that but the company has threatened to sue me if I make reviews about my experience for "defamation of the company". So in short if you are an average citizen making approximately 50 thousand a year with 2 kids while owning your own home you will NOT be able to collect the 30 percent credit within the 18 months. like my sales rep lead me to believe. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Jan 31, 2019

Mr.,

The contract that you signed acknowledges that POWERHOME is not responsible nor can we guarantee your eligibility for the federal tax credit. You also stated that you checked with your accountant to see if you qualified, and we are sorry to hear that he/she gave you incorrect advice. Your tax preparer’s words are something we unfortunately cannot help with.

I am rejecting this response because:
It was a simple call to h&r block stated I qualified for the credit I did not know to ask if it was a refundable or nonrefundable credit as I am not a tax professional and seeing as your company uses the credit as a major marketing tool it should be YOUR responsibility to disclose whether or not its refundable or nonrefundable and there is no disclosure in the sales pitch, on your website, or in the contract and it is not MY fault that YOUR sales rep described it as a refundable credit when he flat out told me "all you have to do is claim the credit and apply it and your payments will stay the same now please sign here stating I explained that to you" that is a flat out misleading lie as it is a non refundable credit that most people cannot take advantage of fully and I'm sorry but if someone who claims to be a professional with a lot of experience and states they are knowledgable about how this credit works comes in and assures us that the credit can be claimed fully based on the information I gave him (the same information the tax preparers received from me married two kids and income) one would think and trust that he disclosed EVERYTHING when signing that contract. Apparently power home solar is not a trustworthy company as they apparently employ sales reps that give misleading tricky information that misleads the average citizen such as myself.

Regards

Mr., again, the contract that you signed states that POWERHOME is not responsible nor can we guarantee any customer’s qualification for any tax credit. We are sorry to hear that you received incorrect information from H&R Block. Unfortunately, their words are ones we cannot help you with. We are sorry, but we cannot help you any further.

No, the misleading information came from the mouth of your sales rep with no clarification on your website either. I suggest investigating the sales rep and the team responsible for the training of your sales reps

The crew was very polite and easy to talk to. They went right to work and stayed on the job until it was finished and kept me informed to changes they had to make. They also cleaned up the job site very well. I'm very pleased.
