Macy's Reviews (3004)

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
Regards,
[redacted]  I did not initiate the purchase of any insurance policy through Macy's and have told Macy's this several times.  My wife, who has been deceased for seven years, may have initiated the transaction in question and my daughter was paying the $8.00 monthly charge for years without my consent.  She was handling my financial affairs until recently when my brother in [redacted] took over from her.  In any event, I do not owe Macy's anything and I want my record to reflect this fact.  The $180.29 cited by Macy's as owing is pure fiction and will never be paid.  Macy's is guilty of "elder abuse"  and is harassing me for no reason.  Contrary to what Macy's stated in their response they have sent several harassing letters addressed to my estate and I'm very much alive.  They are total is! Thank you for attempting to obtain relief for me.  I'm not dealing with Macy's directly anymore.  This entire debacle is making me physically ill, although I doubt that Macy's will actually care about that.  I'm 89 years of age, a [redacted] veteran and I do not deserve to be treated the way Macy's has treated me. Sincerely, [redacted]

I

an additional credit in the amount of $11.15 will post to your [redacted]

Re:  Revdex.com Complaint ID # [redacted]
        Macy's account ending in [redacted]

Dear
[redacted]...

[redacted]:

I am
in receipt of your complaint filed with the Revdex.com and forwarded
to Macy’s Executive Office.  As a liaison
in this office and because I am familiar with this issue, I was asked to review
and respond to your concerns on behalf of Department Stores National Bank.

As
we discussed during our previous telephone conversations on June 1, 2015, beginning
December 18, 2014, you have been making payments after the due date resulting
in the account being past due; however, it was not reported as delinquent for
several months.  When no payment was
received May 18, 2015, you had not met the minimum payment due for the prior
month and your account was reported as thirty (30) days past due to the credit
reporting agencies.  However, on June 1,
2015, we instructed the credit reporting agencies to update their records and
report your account as “customer disputes reporting”.

We
are aware you are attempting to improve your credit report by requesting that
we modify the payment history associated with the above-referenced Macy’s
account.  As you may know, it is our
policy not to remove any delinquency from your credit report unless it occurred
as a result of a billing error.  As a
credit provider, we have an obligation to accurately report all activity,
either favorable or unfavorable, to the credit reporting agencies.  You are correct that creditors are not
required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) to report accounts to the
credit reporting agencies.  However, if
they do report accounts to the credit reporting agencies then we are obligated
by the FCRA to report the accounts accurately.

[redacted], I regret any continuing frustration you may be experiencing
regarding the reporting of your Macy’s account referenced above; however, we
have addressed this issue several times and our position has not changed.  We are sorry for disappointing you in this
matter, but we are required to adhere to specific policies and procedures so
that all of our customers are afforded fair and consistent treatment.  If you have questions on another matter, do
not hesitate to contact me at the telephone number listed below.

Sincerely,

As a creditor reporting to the credit bureaus, your company is indeed required to make sure that your reporting isaccurate with them, as covered by the FCRA, which it is not as you alluded to.2. The address that was read to me by both your representative, John H., and [redacted] directly from thestatements was the same exact address incorrectly being reported to all three credit bureaus and appearing in mycredit reports as:[redacted]In that regards, where is the credit agreement and original statements that were requested by certified mail(stated that would be faxed by Mr. H.), and what address is on them? It is your company’s responsibility tosend statements to the correct address, not an erroneous one.3. The dates on which you indicated that your representative Mr. H. “tried to contact me”, I was left voicemailsat home only stating that he was “doing more research.” I have these voicemails saved and can forward them assound files.I immediately called him back, only to receive his voicemail, and left messages without any calls returned. For twoweeks I heard nothing back at all, with the explanation that he “had a death in the family” with details about that, but not much else. I have over a dozen calls to your office logged, including to request calls back fromsupervisors, which I was promised but never received.4. I cannot follow your accounting or figures in your spreadsheet, and they are not what was conveyed by JohnH. or [redacted] at all. Without question the amounts and dates are incorrect, and do not match the reporting thatthe credit bureaus clearly state.Even the date of last payment that you are claiming is a month off from both what Mr. H. stated and thereports show (February 2011 versus March 20011, respectively). I also find it difficult to believe that the interestwas exactly $2.00 every month for multiple months, without a single late fee, even though you stated there weremultiple missed payments…which there wasn’t after the payment in full was made in December 2010.Your company has a very well-documented history of billing errors and attempts to substantiate them, as evidentby the thousands of public consumer complaints and class-action legal suits filed against it for the very same.5. Finally, it is not my “attempt to improve” my credit report as you put it, but to have it accurately reported to. Thiskind of response reflects the same responses that other consumers relay in their complaints. ? ? ?[redacted], [redacted]. ? 2Once again, I await copies of the original statements and agreement. Should your office fail to provide those byAugust 9, 2017, which is 30 days after my request by certified mail, all instances related to this account must beimmediately deleted and completely removed from my credit file with each of the credit bureaus, as stipulated byconsumer protection law.Sincerely,[redacted], [redacted].cc: Revdex.com [redacted] Equifax

Dear [redacted]:

I am in receipt of your complaint forwarded to us by the Revdex.com.  As a representative of Macy's Executive Office, I was asked to review and respond to your concerns on behalf of Department Stores National Bank (DSNB).

After researching this matter, we will remove the remaining balance which consists of charges that were made on the account after you requested it to be closed on September 28, 2014, as well as late fees, interest fees, and return check fees, which will bring the account to a zero ($0.00) balance.

Additionally, we will clear our internal records of any delinquency associated with this issue, and will instruct the credit reporting agencies to update their records and delete any history of delinquency from the time period of October 2014 to the present.  Please allow the agencies thirty (30) business days to make the necessary corrections to update their files.  This letter will serve as confirmation of this request.

[redacted], we appreciate this additional opportunity to respond.  If you need assistance on another matter, feel free to call me at the telephone number noted below.

[redacted]        Macy's account ending in [redacted] Dear [redacted]:                                          ...  I am in receipt of your complaints filed with the [redacted] and the Revdex.com that were forwarded to Macy's Executive Office.  As a liaison in this office, I was asked to review and respond to your concerns on behalf of Department Stores National Bank (DSNB).  We regret any disappointment you may have experienced because the credit limit was lowered on your Macy’s account.  According to the terms of the DSNB Credit Card Agreement, we may reduce or increase your credit limit at any time for any reason as permitted by law.  We may review your account’s payment history and activity, as well as information provided by outside credit reporting agencies, and increase or decrease your credit limit, without prior notice, based on this information.  We adjust credit limits based on our analysis of the risk associated with each credit limit.  All banks must maintain appropriate risk management strategies.   The letter we sent you dated April 26, 2016, (copy enclosed), includes the reasons that we lowered your credit line.  The letter also includes your credit score and the factors which most negatively impacted your credit score.  That information was provided to us by [redacted].  I also noted that this was the third time your payment was late in the past year.  As you may not be aware, you have the right to dispute the accuracy or completeness of the information reported in your credit report with the credit reporting agency.  You may obtain a free copy of your credit report if you request it within sixty (60) days of receiving the letter referenced above.  If you believe there is incorrect information in your credit report, you may work directly with credit reporting agencies to correct your report.   I apologize that our representative did not ensure that the late fee was not applied to your account.  As a courtesy to you, we removed a $27.00 late fee on March 16, 2016, and a $27.00 late fee on April 26, 2016.        As a credit provider, we are obligated to report the account accurately to the credit reporting agencies, whether it is favorable or unfavorable to the consumer.  Our records indicate we did not receive your payments by the payment due dates for March and April 2016.  Therefore, we are unable to accommodate your request to remove the thirty (30) day delinquency from your credit report. [redacted], the Bank must adhere to specific policies and procedure so that all customers receive fair and equal treatment.  We are unable to modify your credit limit at this time or make any changes to your credit report.  Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and giving me the opportunity to respond.  If I may be of additional assistance, please contact me at the number listed below.  Sincerely,  Janice D.Macy's Executive Office###-###-#### Extension [redacted] Enclosure cc:  [redacted]       [redacted], Revdex.com

Dear [redacted]
[redacted]:
I am in receipt of
your complaint forwarded to us by the Revdex.com (Revdex.com).  As a representative of Macy’s Executive
Office, I was asked to review and respond to your concerns on behalf of
Department Stores National Bank.
In further review of your account, I
confirmed that due to a systemic issue, your Macy’s store account billing
statement for the periods ending on September 7, 2015, and October 8, 2015, as
well as your Macy’s [redacted] account billing statement for the period
ending on September 11, 2015, all showed a zero ($0.00) available credit.  Please accept my sincere apologies that this
issue was not discovered sooner.  I can
understand your frustration and I truly apologize for any inconvenience this
matter may have caused you. Please note,
that our internal records showed your available credit amounts accurately;
however, they were not printed correctly on your monthly billing statements for
the time period above. Please be assured
that we have worked to address these technical issues.
The most recent Macy’s store account billing
statement for the period ending on November 6, 2015, had a $1,174.35 balance
with $3,125.00 in available credit.  As
of the date of this letter, the balance on your Macy’s store account is
$1,493.62 with $1,501.00 in available credit.
The current balance on your Macy’s [redacted] account is $1,278.77
with $21.00 in available credit.  I am
enclosing copies of your Macy’s store and Macy’s [redacted] accounts billing
statements for the time period September 2015 through November 2015 for
reference.
[redacted], we
regret this matter escalated to this point; however, we appreciate the time you
took to bring your concerns to our attention and for giving me the opportunity
to respond.  Your feedback is critical as
it assists us in understanding our customers' experiences and directs our
attention to areas in which we can improve our service quality.  Regarding your account access, I was pleased
to learn that the Primary Account Holder contacted our Technical Assistance

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.
A Macy's representative did reach out to me this week.  Stated that they do not service the area I live in, therefore are unable to honor a warranty I purchased.  This was not discussed with me when they sold me the warranty.  They were happy to take my money.  This was not brought to my attention when they decided to change the areas the service.  They held onto the money.  Now that I have a broken product they offer a small refund on the price of the warranty, I believe they stated 30%.  My concern is that I purchased a warranty to cover the cost of repair should the motor have any problems, now that the motor is not working and a major feature of the couch is not functional, they are offering a small refund.  That will not by any means allow me to get the couch repaired.  I purchased a warranty at full price and they are refusing to honor the terms of the warranty.  That to me is illegal.  If the warranty is void and I should be refunded the full amount.  Or they need to actually honor it and find a way to repair my couch.  I purchased a warranty called "worry no more" to provide protection should something like this happen.  Now I have a broken couch and they will not repair it.

I also requested you to call me directly if you have any questions regarding the audit and I will be more than happy to review it with you over the phone.  Your account is closed and has a zero ($0.00) balance.   [redacted], thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and giving me the opportunity to respond.  If I may be of additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.   Sincerely,     Monique M. Revdex.com, which was forwarded to Bloomingdale’s Executive Office.  As a representative in this office, I was asked to review and respond to your concerns.  We sincerely regret any frustration you may have experienced and for the problems you encountered in trying to resolve this issue.   Our research found that when you returned the blouses without a receipt at our Bloomingdale’s [redacted] store, the register prompted a $706.88 Merchandise Only Certificate (MOC).  Please know that when merchandise is returned without a receipt, a MOC could be subject to further review by our Fraud Department before issuing it to a client.   While your return was processed on January 2, 2016, a precautionary security block was placed on the MOC on January 5, 2016.  In order to remove the security block, we will need proof of purchase.  You were informed of this when you called on January 13, 2016.  At that time, you indicated that your aunt gifted the blouses to you.  To help locate the original purchase receipt, we will need the purchase date, the Bloomingdale’s store location where it was bought, and the form of payment that was used for the purchase.  The store no longer has the blouses in their possession. However, if you would obtain the above information from your aunt, you can fax to my attention at ###-###-#### or send by mail, and we will expedite the review. Therefore, at this time, I am unable to request that the block be removed.   Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and giving me the opportunity to respond.  If I may be of additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.   Sincerely,     Regina M. Re: Macy's Account Ending in [redacted]

Dear [redacted]:

I am in receipt of your complaint forwarded to us by the Revdex.com.  As a representative of Macy's Executive Office, and as I am familiar with your inquiry, I was asked to review and respond to your concerns on behalf of Department Stores National Bank.

I understand from your most recent correspondence that you are still disputing the thirty (30) day delinquency report in May 2015 for your above-referenced Macy's accoun**  Our decision remains the same, and the delinquency reported in May 2015, will not be removed.  The delinquency was not the result of a billing or bank error.

Our records indicate you updated your statement preference online at macys.com on July 23, 2015, to paper and email statement notifications.  As the billing statement preference was not updated until July 23, 2015, only an email notification for the billing statement for the period ending June 26, 2015, would have been sent to your email address [redacted].  However, due to a possible system delay, an email notification may not have been sent to you.  Please know, a paper statement was not mailed to your mailing address for the billing period ending June 26, 2015.  I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced due to this matter.

Please know, your bill closing date is the 26th of each month, and a billing statement is only generated if there is a balance on the accoun**  As of the date of this letter, your account has a credit balance of $2.00; therefore, a paper statement for the billing period ending July 26, 2015, will be mailed to your mailing address above, and an email statement notification will be sent to your email address [redacted].

[redacted], thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and giving me the opportunity to respond.  If I may be of additional assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely,

As a representative in this office, I was asked to review and respond to your concerns.  Please accept my sincere apology for any inconvenience or frustration this may have caused you while attempting to resolve this issue.   In researching this matter, our records show that the $60.00 in Macy’s Money was used on June 2, 2017, for an in-store purchase.  In speaking with our Online Ordering department, you disputed making this purchase.  Although the Macy’s Money was used, we believe it was done so fraudulently, and would like to replace it for you with the enclosed $100.00 in Macy’s Money.  I am truly sorry this matter wasn’t resolved sooner.   Please note that the service you described is not indicative of the quality customer service we strive to provide.  Macy’s goal is to have professional and knowledgeable sales associates available in every department, so that all of our customers’ questions and needs are addressed and resolved efficiently. It appears we may have fallen short of this goal.  Therefore, I would like to thank you for the time you took to share this situation with us, as it directs our attention to areas in which we can improve our service quality.   We understand that you have a choice of where to shop and your continued loyalty is important to us, as well as appreciated.  I hope you will view this as an isolated incident and allow us the opportunity to mend our business relationship with you.  If I may be of further assistance, please feel free to contact me at the telephone number listed below.   Sincerely,       Jay S.
