I called GWG today (March **, 2014), and according to [redacted](the representative I spoke with), the check they sent out that I did receive today with check number [redacted] was to close a claim I had on a seperate claim.  According to [redacted] with GWG the check for Claim number [redacted] is still processing and has not been sent out.

I do not understand what is so hard about this company contacting the customer to get a clear understanding of what the complaint is. Once again they are referencing the wrong account. The account number and claim number was already provided through this complaint. My complaint is regarding a total of $610. This company provides services for communicable devices yet is unable to communicate with their customers. All this does is hold up the resolution of this issue. Review: On 12/**/12 I purchased an Apple IPHONE 5 16GB from my local cellular provider (The Wireless Age) plus the Global Warranty Group`s wireless replacement plan for the extra piece of mind. The GWG wireless plan cost me $180.00 at the time of the purchase. On 04/**/14 I had an accident where I had dropped my iphone from my pocket on to the floor in my garage without noticing and had backed over my iphone while backing out of my garage. I called the GWG claim center @ ###-###-#### and put in a claim for the damaged iphone. The claim center representative took down all of my information and then asked me how I would like to go ahead with the claim: option #1-go ahead and have a new iphone 5 16mb sent out right away before they had received my damaged iphone and if by going with this option she would go ahead and charge my credit card for the deductible of $179.99 plus a deposit of $699.99 which would be refunded after they have received my original damaged iphone. Or option #2-send in my damaged iphone with only the deductible of $179.99 being charged to my credit card and once they receive my damaged iphone the would send a replacement iphone out to me in the mail. I decided to go ahead with option #1 as I needed a phone asap. The claim center representative supplied me with claim # [redacted] and told me if there is any problems with the claim I would hear back within 24-48hrs. I never heard anything back within 24hrs, so I went ahead and called the claim center on 04/**/14 to follow up and was told they could not supply me with the iphone 5 16mb as they had no stock and if it would be okay if they could just send me a cheque for $650.00. I told the representative that would be fine and that I would accept the cheque for $650.00. The representative said fine he would put this request through to their escalation department and I would see a cheque within 24-48hrs. Assuming I would see a cheque for $650.00 within a few days, I went out on 04/**/14 and purchased a new iphone 5 out of pocket which set me back a few dollars short of $650.00.

04/**/14, I Purolator air shipped my damaged iphone to [redacted]. as instructed to get my deposit of $699.99 refunded. They did receive my damage iphone and refunded the $699.99 a day or two after receiving the damaged iphone. Since 04/**/14 I have called the claims center several times to try and get a answer to where my cheque is, but get the same response every time, "Your claim has been sent to the escalation department for processing". I`ve asked several representatives to direct me to someone in power but never get anywhere!!! So this past Saturday 04/**/14, I finally had enough and went ahead and contacted my Visa company regarding the deductible charges and if there was anything they could do to at least get my $179.99 back as I`m pretty sure I will never see the $650.00 I was promised. The representative from my visa company told me to give it a few days and if no cheque to contact them back and they will start a process to try and get the $179.99 back. It`s now 04/**/14 and no cheque so I will being contacting my visa company to get the ball rolling and hopefully I will get the $179.99 back with any luck.

Review: I purchased an I phone and plan and a GWG WARRANTY for( 179.99 plus tax )through our local Rogers independent Store with a 3 year plan, Feb **, 2012. The store staff were helpful and helped me with making what sounded like a wise purchase. The I phone external speaker quit working in August 2013, and when I presented at the same Rogers store I purchased the phone at I was redirected to contact GWG warranty myself. When I called GWG I was surprised to hear I had not purchased a warranty from the "warranty company"...I purchased insurance and had to pay another $179.99, (which I did not have at the time)(I was mislead by the brochure as I read protection program)I called again to settle and on Oct */2013 GWG was quick to take another $179.00 (plus $699.99 as a hold) from my visa and I was to expect a new phone within 7-10 business days.24 hours later I received a call that there was no phones in the country for them to access so they would send me a check for $600.00.I disputed that the service was unacceptable having already paid $400.00 to them for the service contract and really only getting $200.00 in return.they negotiated to $650.00....Oct *.I have not received the check as of yet on Nov *, 2013.When I call GWG and or e mail which I have done persistently, no one can tell me where the check is.I did after many exhausting calls and e mails get them to at least release the hold on my visa for $699.00. at 21 days, which I will pay interest on now.... This has been a very frustrating month of phone calls and worry.

Check was sent via UPS tracking [redacted] which was sent to address [redacted]. I show it was delivered on November **, 2013. If you are stating you have not received the check as of today we will need to file a claim with UPS and request another check sent out.

Review: On November [redacted], 2011 I filed a claim due to a lost of my Apple I-phone 5, 32 GB cell phone with Verizon. After paying a deductible of $150.00,a week later I got a phone call explaining that the insurance company do not stack the 32G I-Phone anymore. They promised to pay for the cell phone an amount of $750.00 which I agreed. Since then I have not received the money or the replacement phone and every time I call they just give me turns around.

I am still paying the monthly insurance fee to the global warranty group to cover the protection of the phone a friend of mine let me use until I get mine back. ThanksDesired Settlement: I want the the insurance company to either send me the 32G I-phone 5 or as promised by them, pay me the $750.00 so I can buy the I-phone market price. Thank you very much.

Review: In January, I filed a warranty claim against my husband's damaged cell phone. Under the terms of the warranty, we were to pay a deductible and would receive a replacement phone. I paid the $75 deductible and was to send in the damaged cell phone. A few days later I received a call that a replacement phone was not available. They asked if a check for $350 was acceptable. We agreed and sent in the damaged phone. 3 months later I am still waiting to receive my refund check. Every time I call, they claim their accounting department is still working on the claim and I will receive a phone call back. I have never received a phone call back, and the customer service team will not transfer me to any management.Desired Settlement: I would like my $350 check as was promised months ago. This business needs to have action taken against them.

Review: Have not heard back from them for over a month

Send my phone in beginning of may. The GWG WARRANTY CANADA took out of my visa 179.00 $

I have called numerous times and was told that my phone is not replaceable so I will be getting a check of 650$ from them.

A month has passed by without a phone and leaving soon on an overseas trip. Still have not had any feed back from them.Desired Settlement: Send my iPhone properly packaged plus they took out an amount from my visa. I was told I would hear back within 2 business days. It has been a month and they still have the visa number my phone and the amount they took out as deductible right away.

Review: Paid for phone insurance. Phone was lost and claim was submitted in January of 2014. Company claimed they did not have anymore models of my phone and that they would send a check for the price of the phone, $550. They said it would arrive in the next few weeks which I budgeted for. It has now been almost 6 months. I have called more than 10 times and received empty promises each time.Desired Settlement: $550

Review: The LCD screen on my husband’s Samsung Galaxy S4 phone got a crack in it at the end of January. We put in a claim to Global Warranty Group (GWG) and they sent another phone within 48 hours. After a few days, my husband had everything loaded to his new phone. However, he noticed the microphone didn’t seem to pick up any of his words. We then figured out his speakers didn’t work as I couldn’t hear him when he called. When I called him, his phone would freeze.

We contacted GWG as the phone was under warranty and started a “redo” claim. We waited 4 weeks and no phone came. After several attempts at calling the support line with no new information on the status of our phone, I contacted [redacted] the [redacted] at GWG. He put me in contact with a representative that said they did not have any GS4 phones and offered me a check for $650 instead. I accepted. Allen said it would take roughly 6 weeks for me to receive my check. The replacement phone was sent in and received by them on March *, 2014. It is May **, 2014, over 3 MONTHS later and I still don’t have a check. I called the customer information line and got my claim sent to escalations, who was supposed to send it to accounting, who in turn was supposed to call me with an update. It has been 2 weeks and I haven’t heard back. How is this company rated A+? It makes me question the validity of your ratings. If this company can take my phone and keep my money for over 3 months (4 months since first claim) and still have an A+ rating, it doesn’t give me much confidence in your credibility. I am writing to you, to hopefully get help or advice on how to get the check I deserve.

Background: When I purchased the warranty, I was not aware it was not a direct product of [redacted]. I was also not aware that [redacted] had "dealer" stores that could sell other products. When I bought the phone/warranty I thought it was through [redacted] and not [redacted]. Apparently, [redacted] and GWG had a fall out recently and instead of settling it between them, the customers are taking the hit.Desired Settlement: I would like the check they promised me for roughly $650. It would be nice to be reimbursed the money I spent for the "warranty" plan, since they did not fulfill their Replacement Phones Shipped within 24-48 hours guarantee, but all I want right now is the $650.
