I cannot express enough the disappointment I have had with Gerber Collision. They had my vehicle in their shop for approx. 5 weeks due to an automobile accident. They NEVER contacted me once nor followed through with the insurance company. They ended up adding extra charges to my vehicle which were not warranted, and as a result, that made the vehicle deemed totaled. Upon further inspection of the vehicle by the same insurance adjuster and a different auto body shop, it was found that the vehicle should never have been totaled in the first place and was able to be repaired after all. I would never recommend Gerber Collision to anyone.
We are disappointed to hear this and sincerely apologize for this frustrating experience. We understand that the Market Manager Roy has been in contact with you to discuss your concerns. If we can assist you any further please feel free to give us a call.
My car had extensive damage AND I had problems with the at fault driver's insurance, so I was in contact with the 800 S Harbor City Blvd, Melbourne office a lot. Each time, Matt and Tina went above and beyond. Tina kept telling me, as I thanked her again and again, it was just them doing their job, and yes it was. But it was also always being prompt, professional, and going out of their way to make sure my car was safe and drivable. There is doing the minimum and meeting the requirements of a job, and then there is caring about your job, and your customers. It shouldn't be two separate things, but in this day and age, it often is. Getting in an accident is always stressful, but Tina and Matt made everything manageable.
Sadly, due to an auto accident where the other driver was at fault, I was forced to use this company by the other driver's insurance. I took my car in for repairs, and noticed there were signs posted stating "Not responsible for private property in the vehicle." I have seen such signs before, but had pulled the majority of my belongings from the vehicle. Unfortunately, I did not realize this sign actually meant: "We will go through every nook and cranny of your vehicle and STEAL what we want. We do not care if our employees are honest. You left your private property IN your private property and we will take what we want." It was completely ransacked. Even my Bible was rifled through and items taken!!! I am not upset that coins were stolen from my ashtray and toll money was stolen from a cubby or that my air freshener was taken or even that my Bible was messed with. I am more amazed that a company allows employees to behave in such a manner. I have been driving for 30 years and have used many auto body shops and mechanics during that time. I have seen such signs before. I have never had my property stolen under the guise of "we posted it." The ENTIRE CAR WAS PRIVATE PROPERTY. After I realized what happened, I was happy my car radio and tires were still in the car! I will tell anyone and everyone who will listen to avoid - at all costs - using Gerber Collision because they employ crooks and advertise that they do with their sign "Not responsible for personal items left in vehicle." I rank this ZERO stars for crookedness, but sadly must give it at least one star to submit the complaint.
We are disappointed to hear about your experience and we understand the General Manager Julie S. has reached out to you to discuss your Revdex.com review in regards to items that have gone missing from your vehicle. I sincerely apologize for this frustrating experience and want to thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. If you need any further assistance please don't hesitate to contact us. Thank you
I hit a curb in May 2017. My car was at the shop for almost a month. They charged my insurance over 6000 dollars in damages and repairs. One of those repairs was my right control arm. I started having issues with the suspension almost immediately after. I brought the car in, they tightened some bolts, told me I was good to go. I have gone to two different mechanics who have both told me flat out that the right control arm on the car is a few years old (my car is 3 years old) and is dented from impact (when I hit the curb). Hence it has never been changed. I have called for 6 months straight and given the run around that a "part is being ordered" for SIX months now. This is insurance fraud!!!! I've now contacted ***, so they will hopefully stop working with this company.

I used there jessup location to get my car fix but when I got there I talk to tam that was the gm and told her that I did not want after marked parts placed on my car. She said that that is what geico does in maryland I told her that I live in west Virginian and my insurance says that I can put gmo parts on my car. She talk to geico and they told her to wait in tell they found what west Virginian said. I got a call from them in three days and they said my car was do I asked them want parts was put on my car and they said after market parts. I call my insurance and they said that I had a right to gmo parts and because they had fix the car they would not give me a rental car for them to fix my car right so they had to give me a check for the differences. three days later my front bumper of my car comes off and they tell me that it will cost me 360 dollars to fix there problem. I have a life time warranty on there work but they are telling me that I do not. I payed them 1.015.88 for the bumper to be put on right and they did not do it at all
We understand that Gerber Collision & Glass has been in contact with the complainant and working out the refund.
Not Senior Citizen friendly
My 77 year old Mother had body work done, her estimate said she would pay nothing (0.00), when she went to pick up her vehicle, they took her rental car back for her, then told her she owed $500.00 (she did not have $500.00) she asked if they would hold her check a few days, they said no we cant do that and refused to give her they keys to her vehicle until she paid the $500.00.
Diana,
We understand that the Market Manager Shawn has been in contact with you and has agreed to pay half of the deductible. If you have any further questions please feel free to call the shop directly.
I had my car repaired at their Carolina Beach Rd, Wilmington, NC location last year. I had to take it back because they replaced the two front fenders and failed to fix the rust on rocker panel.. When I complained they supposedly fixed the other side, when in fact they had just painted over the rust which showed in a few weeks. I was told to take it to the Market St., Wilmington location. They fixed one side and not the other, had to bring it back. It looked fine however they moved my seatbelts under the plastic panels which I had to fix myself. In two weeks, the door is rubbing the fender and not properly adjusted and the front fender is not attached at the bottom. They also disconnected the rear electrics to the right rear door (why). I now need to take it to someone to fix it and pay to have it done correctly.
Gerber Collision and Glass has attempted to contact and work with the complainant to resolve their concerns. We informed the complainant on March 7th when they originally called in to discuss their concerns that we would be willing to review them if the vehicle was brought back in and the complainant stated they would think about it. Complainant has not answered our call or email commutation attempts.
Gerber Collision & Glass has been in contact with the complainant to discuss his concerns and have been unsuccessful in reaching a resolution. We have spoken with the complainant on several occasions, but has been unhappy with any suggested resolution.
Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: I am out 700.00 to properly attach my fender and to have the door aligned. I took it upon myself to fix the seatbelts, diagnose and fix the electrical on my rear door.
Sincerely,
Patrick
This is a pretty shotty operation. I took my car there over a week ago to have a scratch fixed that was a result of someone getting too close to my car in the parking lot of my local grocery store. Long story short, I was supposed to have my car back 2 days later- they contacted me 6 days later and advised me that the car was ready for pick up and was inspected thoroughly. Once I got there, I immediately noticed that the paint wasn't correct, there was a spot missing clear coat all together or it was peeling already- still a substantially sized white mark on the bottom front quarter panel (car that hit mine was white), and there was so much wax caked up on the back of my car that I had to run my finger down the middle of it to see the paint on my car. So I refused delivery of the car. They gave me a rental car that was not comperable to my vehicle at all that has obvious mechanical issues and told me that my vehicle would be done in 2 days. I called yesterday to get it and now my drivers side window mysteriously doesn't roll up or down and they have to take it to a Honda dealership to get fixed because it is evidently out of their scope of work.
Another piece of information worth sharing, I attempted for 1 1/2 days to get in touch with my claims adjuster and when I finally got in touch with him after me calling him again- he works out of the office at this location....pretty suspect to me.
I have filed a complaint with the Revdex.com as well at the Attorney Generals office and I would highly recommend that everyone stay away from this company and also to really do your due diligence on a body shop, especially if your insurance company advertises them as a "preferred shop."
Dear Carly,
We are disappointed to hear about your experience. I understand that you have been in contact with the General Manager Justin M. and are going back to the shop sometime this week to get a new belt molding put on. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.
Had work done on my Jeep at the end of November for front end work. Hit a deer on 11/15/2017. When repair was done, they charged me for adjusting my lights for a 1/2 hour. Had to bring it back. The lights were upside down. They also didn't replace all the parts. Which allowed a stone to break my fog light. Had it into the dealership, they said that Jeep was missing a bolt on part. A shield under the front end. Called Gerber Collision they said to bring it in. They said that they would order the parts and have them like Tuesday. So when I got there. The owner was very upset with me. Didn't talk to me. Didn't want my keys. Went out looked at Jeep and said that he couldn't see anything wrong with the light, that the dealership just said was broken. That the part that is now missing since the repair is a bolt on part and they didn't do it. That he was going to call the insurance company, that they weren't going to fix it. My insurance company said, yes they are going to fix it, free to me. Gerber also wanted me to lie on their survey saying that I organically didn't have to bring the Jeep back in. Otherwise they don't pass. Had to bring it back to have them adjust the lights. So I didn't fill out survey. Also asked for my bad plastic parts back. Was told that I couldn't have them. That was a core on them. Never heard of a thing like that. They were plastic parts
Gerber Collision and Glass has been in contact with the insurance company to discuss the complainant's concerns. The insurance carrier have made concessions for the complainant and have authorized us to purchase the lower engine cover and LT fog lamp assembly. The insurance carrier and Gerber Collision are currently awaiting the complainant's response, so we can schedule/install at a time and location of the complainant's choice.
Worst customer service I have experienced in my lifetime. Did not complete repairs, neglected to hook up rear light assembly, removed weather tech mat and then couldn't find, terrible communication and management. I could go on and on, stay clear of this location in Powell, Ohio. From the other reveiws I'v read, go anywhere but Gerber! This is the first negative reveiw I have ever taken the time to write. I hope this keeps people from having the same horrible experience that I had with this business.
Scott,
We understand that Ryan has been in contact with you and will be coming to your home to inspect the damage and discuss your issues. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you, if we can assist you any further please feel free to give us a call.
On February 8, 2018 I took my car for front end body work authorized by State Farm Insurance. I drove the car into the facility. On 2/20/18 Gerber told State Farm that the vehicle was totaled. I told State Farm that I would pick up my car because all that it needed was front head light and a new front grill. I went to pick up the car on February 21, 2018 and it was evident that Gerber had tampered with the electrical system and caused damage to my vehicle. The car was barely able to make it on the expressway. Had to pull over several times. All of the lights were going haywire. Gerber said that the abs light was on and needed to be repaired. Only Mercedes Benz is authorized to do that service! I only needed body work not electrical repair. Now the cost of the repair exceeds what State Farm is willing to pay. They need to pay for the repair of my vehicle. State Farm recommended this business. This Gerber Collision & Glass dealer is located at 1700 Dobbs Road Suite 1, Saint Augustine, Fl 32084. I contacted Gerber headquarters and was told that they have only been a Gerber Center for a few months. They need to close.
There was no invoice because it was done through insurance with State Farm. I picked the car up. That's when I discovered that they had damaged the electrical system
Gerber Collision has attempted to contact the complainant via phone and email to resolve their concerns. Gerber Collision would like to discuss the issues that the dealer found but the complainant has ceased communication with us.
I was told it would take them 12 days to repair my pickup. I drove onto my pickup to Gerber with minor front damage Dec.1st and got a call from Julie Feb 12 saying my pickup was finished sooner than expected,74 days later. I expected it done in 12 not 74. I got nothing but lies and excuses from Gerber.
I received an email Dec 19 saying they were just starting repairs, another Dec saying it was 51 % done, another Dec 30 saying it was finished but when I called to pick it up I was told that email was sent by mistake and I received no more emails until Feb 12 over 40 days later.
I was told it would only take 12 days it took 74
We are sorry to hear this and sincerely apologize for the lengthily repair time. Thank you for bringing this matter our attention we will continue to investigate in hopes to correct the concern.
I was involved in a accident on the 29th of December and decided to take my care to Gerber for repair. I met with Anthony and went over the body work needed to be preformed. I explained that I was unsure about anything mechanical wrong since the vehicle was towed after the accident. Anthony assured me he would check everything out.Anthony told me the vehicle would look and drive as it did before the accident. After receiving a call to pickup my car I felt comfortable with the outside of the car.I start the vehicle and pull out of Gerber and notice my engine light on. I immediately call Anthony to have the vehicle looked at.The car was diagnosed with two spark plugs not firing. Prior to the accident the engine light was not on also all spark plugs were firing. Anthony placed this condition on the vehicle needing a tune up.The engine light was not on prior to the accident now my engine light is on and two plugs are not firing. I feel this was conveniently overlooked.I feel the work should've been included in the estimate for the insurance claim.
Gerber Collision has been in contact with the complainant and the vehicle is currently at our Ft Myers *** location for the warranty repairs.

I dropped my vehicle off at Gerber for hail damage repair on 12/02/17. The vehicle was giving a complete inspection for prior damage on 12/04/17. I was notified the vehicle was completed and ready for pickup on 01/19/18. I picked the vehicle up on 01/20/18. I noticed not all repairs were completed and there were deep scratches on my roof rail. I notified Gerber on 01/20/18 and was told to make a list of problems and *** would contact me on 01/22/18. *** called and set a appointment for me to come in on 01/26/18. They fixed some of the issues but claimed the roof rail damage was already there when the vehicle was inspected on 12/04/17. *** said he would send me proof of pictures through email. The pictures for 12/04/17 show no roof rail damage identified. Pictures dated 12/11/17 show the vehicle being worked on and scratches on the roof rail. There were no scratches on the roof rail when the vehicle was dropped off. If a complete inspection was giving on 12/04/17 and no scratches were found, then why were scratches found after the work began on 12/11/17 in that area?
The complainant has agreed to go to our Colorado Springs location to have the rework completed. Gerber Collision & Glass will be working with the complainant to make sure he satisfied.

On October 24, 2017, I dropped my vehicle off to have it repaired after a collision. The receptionist was pleasant, took my keys and started Gerber's paperwork. She arranged for a rental car agency to pick me up, and I was on my way in a short period of time. This was the ONLY good experience I had with Gerber Collision. On the day I was told my vehicle repair was completed and scheduled for pick up, I found out that the Gerber GLASS portion of the Gerber Collision & Glass repair facility was closed on the day of the pickup. I was not notified that part of their repair center was closed and could not put the rear window on the car. Also, on this false pick up day, I noticed damage from the incident that was not repaired nor was noted on the estimate for repair. I was told that Gerber Collision simply copied the estimate from the at-fault driver's insurance company without performing their own estimate. Isn't this a basic function of all collision repair shops? Finally, on November 29, 2017 (after five weeks), I was able to pick up my car. It was repaired and cleaned (ready for pick up) ONLY according to Gerber's specifications and not COMPLETELY repaired with the additional damage noted on the false pick up date the prior Friday. Besides the issues noted after the fact, the following items were not addressed during the five weeks my vehicle was in Gerber's possession. 1. There remain specks of sand under the clear coat paint. 2. NOT A SINGLE PANEL PIECE THAT WAS REMOVED AND REPLACED ON MY VEHICLE IS PROPERLY ALIGNED. This is completely unsatisfactory for ANY repair shop...this is literally Auto Repair 101. 3. Though this is not a major concern, the actual estimator of the shop was tasked with cleaning my vehicle. I was told this was protocol and that estimators clean ALL customer vehicles upon completion of a transaction. The cleaning solution used made my interior very sticky, and I had my car professionally cleaned to remove the residue.
In September I had brought my car in on a claim from an accident. I had my vehicle serviced and was given the vehicle back with the VSC and traction control still on and driving the vehicle had consistant grinding, vibrations, and stability issues. I immediately drove it back and then also noticed the wheel was not a matching one as we had discussed other means of taking care of it. I had to bring the vehicle back to get the traction control adjusted and the correct wheel mounted. I had brought a wheel that they were going to replace on it to the shop after a few days. They had my car for an hour or so and came back and said they got the codes off "somehow" and I was ready to go. I got home to realize the codes were gone but the vehicle was still having issues and the tire I purchased was gone. I had contacted them and after days of waiting we replaced the wheel but I then found that they did not put on the right panel for the car model and there was still issues with the driving. So that was the last issue and I had taken it to another shop who found even more damages and issues from what the estimate had stated. The insurance found out that the alignment that was done had the specifcations changed to make the vehicle's alignment be within specifications they made. The second shop also found issues with the work that was done on the vehicle from Gerber to be not correct and had to replace thier parts and work done. Now another shop still has to try and clean up Gerbers wrong diagnostics and issues.
Gerber Collision and Glass is aware that the complainant has been to the dealership to have their concerns address and was made aware that that several items needed to be addressed by Gerber. Gerber Collisions and Glass has attempted to contact the complainant regarding their repair concerns with no response.

I am rejecting this response because: these statements are false. I received a response and had a coversation with Ryan Bachert on 1/17/18 but was told he has to forward it to his manager and wait for a response from them on 1/19/18. The marketing manager, Ed ***, responded back 2/1/18, but I was woth out internet for a few days and have responded once I was available 2/5/18.
Sincerely,
Paul
Gerber Collision and Glass has offered to pay for an additional diagnostic at the *** dealer in addition to the 2 other diagnostics that we have preformed and a max of 3 days rental for the complainant. At this time Gerber is not responsible for the damages as they were not a result of our workmanship. Once the complainant has secured a time and date with Gerber Collision, they will secure the rental. If there are any further concerns the complainant will need to contact ***.
Overspray on passenger door panel and bumper not professionally painted
We have been in contact with the complainant and the insurance company regarding this concern. Gerber has agreed to fix the bumper as well as the over spray issue once *** gives us the go ahead. Tell us why here...
This shop did a shotty job repairing my car and are stalling getting anyone to address the issues. They also improperly cleaned the chemicals and Bondo filler product causing fiberglass particle to be in the cabin of the car which is burning my eyes, nose and throat. The shop keeps giving me the run around and making up excuses. I've tried talking to their 'Performance manager' Doug Timmons, but he is unwilling to come see the issues until November 30. The accident happened 9/8, my car went into their shop on 10/10 and they had my car over 3 weeks, with very poor communication. The insurance company, USAA is supposed to be filing a complaint with the shop. Another shop has looked at Gerber's repair and confirmed the shotty work and issues I have with the quality. I even tried dropping the car off to Gerber to see why it smelled like chemicals and caused irritations, but they wouldn't check the in cab air filter, and only vacuumed the floor area and 'cleaned up' areas they thought may have remnants of chemicals. Now cleaning solution is masking the chemical smell, and it still burns my eyes, nose and throat when I drive the car unless I have the windows rolled down. I fear them doing intentional retaliation damage to my car at this point because I noticed more scratches on my car when I picked it up for the second time.
Gerber Collision has been in contact with the complainant and is actively working toward a resolution for all concerns.

I had over 3300.00 of front end repair work done at gerber collision in Holland mi at 11007 water tower ct. and a little while later I noticed the headlights started to get moisture in them and one light passenger side even went out... then after further checking of the front end I noticed the bumper starting to peel apart in several areas of the bumper.. I only brought the vehicle to gerber because my insurance company called them a so called select service location I’m not sure what that means as the service I have received is nothing of such. Clearly when they did my front end work they had to take apart everything on the front of my vehicle which is a 2009 lincoln mkz and when they took the headlights out they must’ve loosened the seals Unbeknownst to them because it has allowed just enough of an opening for it to get wet inside I’ve seen several other mkzs driving around without this same issue on not one but both headlights.. If work had been performed properly in the first place my bumper would’ve also not flakes apart I would like my vehicle properly fixed and lights working in a timely manner
Gerber Collision and Glass has been in contact with the complainant. Gerber has completed all covered repairs as well as the warranty repairs. Complainant has picked up the vehicle as of 11/16.
