plus barely works around Annacis Island , Delta. Spotty around Langley. Coverage map is very deceiving. You may have four bars on your phone with a "away" signal, but that doesn't mean your phone is going to work. I'm in my office now in central Annacis Island, a major business hub, and this phone is totally useless. Good thing I have 15 days to return this really cool phone to this *** carrier. They also don't tell you that other carriers will block you from using their towers, rendering your phone useless. Don't bother calling customer service unless your phone is fully charged, you'll be on hold for a very long, long, time.
Amar, thanks for being honest.
I opened up another line *** on my account *** at *** Mall,*** this past weekend on February 24th. One of the reasons I decided to go with Freedom Mobile on my 3rd line is because of an ad posted right at the *** kiosk that states "Free *** Bluetooth Headphones gift ($120 value)" on "activating a new service, upgrade your phone or purchase outright a ***, or ***." I decided on getting the *** with the new line. After all the paperwork is completed, I was told they don't have the headphone to give away anymore?? So why is the ad still being distributed? I am very unhappy with the store's bait and switch tactic and really hope the head office can give me a better resolution. However the head office responded back saying the offer is no-longer available as this was for a limited time only while quantities last as per the terms for this offer. They will also send feedback to the store to remove such advertisement, or otherwise advise customers about the availability of the offer. This is OK, except that the headphone offer is also advertised on the company website itself, so I don't believe their claim that the offer has expired or quantities are no longer available.
I am a long time customer with Freedom Mobile, since their *** Mobile days, now opening a 3rd phone line with the company. I cannot believe their customer service does not follow through with their own advertisement promise. A headphone doesn't cost the company much, but empty promises and deceptive advertising will!
This is a response to ***'s Revdex.com complaint against Freedom Mobile.
Mr *** wished to take advantage of a limited time & quantity promotional offer that was being offered with new activation. Unfortunately, the offer was no longer available, but still being advertised at the Kiosk Mr. went to.
Freedom Mobile has advised the Kiosk to remove all related advertising as well as offered Mr. the following compensation:
- $56.50 as a service credit equivalent to one month on the newly activated line.
- $10 off for 6 months on another line.
Due to the above, Mr. & Freedom Mobile deem the issue resolved.
Thank you,
***

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
The total value of the compensation is more or less equivalent to the headphone gift I felt entitled to from the kiosk advertisement. I am happy that Freedom Mobile is willing to make this right for me.
I transferred service to another carrier end of 2017 as Freedom is one of the worst mobile phone companies I've ever dealt with UNRELIABLE service and let alone the customer service.
I gave them my credit card information for automatic payment withdrawal when signed up; however When I left Freedom Mobile, I thought whatever the pro-rata amount I owed would have been automatically charged to the pre-authorized credit card but couldn't believe recently I kept on receiving phone calls from the collection agency about a personal matter that in my wildest dream I had no clues about. I asked the collection agency to send me whatever they are talking about and I'd take it from there without giving them any other personal info when asked. Sure enough I found out afterwards that it was about an outstanding balance of $22 in change for pete sake. I called Freedom and told them I had no clue about the outstanding amount was not automatically withdrawn from my pre-authorized credit card and they did not have the decency to contact the customer first before making a mountain out of a molehill***.
This week freedom mobile has assigned my active phone number to one of their new clients even though I'm still actively using this number with a different provider. So now some stranger has the same phone number as me and is receiving some of my calls and text messages. When I called freedom they have told me it's not my phone number anymore and they cannot cancel the other person's number.
They need to cancel the other person's phone number as two people should not have the same number and explain how and why they did this
This is a response to ***'s Revdex.com complaint against Freedom Mobile.
Mr. had an existing line with Freedom Mobile and ported to another company. Mr. was correct as his number was assigned to another user due to a rare system error. The regular process is to have the number added to a group of numbers that can no longer be used. In this case, this did not happen and it was reassigned.
This has since been resolved, as the person who had the number changed it. The number is now unavailable for use with Freedom Mobile as it belongs to the other provider.
Freedom Mobile has given Mr. one month of service on his active line in the amount of $39.55 and a promotion of $10 off for 6 months due to the issue and any inconvenience caused.
Due to this, Freedom Mobile & Mr. consider the issue resolved.
Kind Regards,

They wouldn't listen to the situation and just like robots telling the same phrase over and over again. ***.
I was forced to port to another reliable network as I was fed up with freedom. I used to feel like 'Unfreedom'.
I ported from *** to freedom because they offered better network with a mytab new *** phone in some season offer. I bought it. After a couple of months, I realized that, this is a very useless network. In my apartment, where I am living, the place I should get some decent network, it always showed a cross sign. Moreover, I was a new immigrant and was expecting a lot of interview calls and I missed several official and personal calls. Thanks to the pathetic network. If I try to get some network by sitting near my window, it will charge me extra as the network switches automatically to roaming. I tried fixing the issue by calling the service provider, emailing them and even went to a couple of shops. Still no use. Finally, I was forced to port to *** after feeling so much disappointment.
Now for the worst part. Freedom calls us offering fancy things. But when we switch their network within two years of our agreement, we have to pay the entire balance amount of the mytab phone which we got with the connection.
I had to pay a whooping amount of $299.00 which was not affordable as a new immigrant. Earlier, it was only $5 a month plus the network charges. I requested them in writing to either waive this amount or give me a couple of months to pay as installments. They did not even agree to all that and kept giving the same reply "Sorry, we cannot do anything".
Finally, I got an official notice from a credit company to pay the balance amount, otherwise recovery steps will be initiated. That was the most disgusting and terrible part and I had to pay the left over money. ***
Once again, I never really wanted to change my network as it was providing me some cheap plans which I could afford. But, I was FORCED to change it due to very poor -1 network. From the 2nd day I ported my connection, I started getting interview calls and have been getting personal calls and people told me that, they were not getting me inspite of trying for a long time.
If Revdex.com could interfere and help many poor customers like me and/or help me get atleast some part of my money back, it would have been a great help.
The service times are absolutely horrible. You can sometimes get through if you are lucky. But for no apparent reason the service reps will put you back on hold for 30 minutes or more.
Ordered a new *** 8 on January 13 2018. Was updated as being received in Brantford Ontario on January 17 via the tracking number provided by freedom mobile upon ordering. Contacted Freedom on January 30 as had not received the phone yet, was then told I'd get a return call in 2 business days after explaining the situation. No return call received. Then called to speak re the situation again February 2 told I'd get a return call again in 2 business days...no call from them. Called again Feb 7. Told then I'd have to chase it down thru *** who stated the sender would have to initiate an investigation. Called them again that same day to reiterate what *** stated only to be told by their same person in charge I'd have to chase ***. No help in locating this missing phone, it is my onus it seems despite what I Post stated. Just want a refund of *** stated.seeking my deposit and to cancel my service through them entirely on account of their poor customer service and clear lack of caring for their reputation and customers.
The resolution I am seeking is a refund of my deposit on the phone for I have not received and for them to do their own foot work finding out the whereabouts of their missing product for which I have clearly not received. Tracking number *** has remained unchanged since January 17th 2018.
This is a response to ***'s Revdex.com Complaint against Freedom Mobile.
Mr. ordered a new *** through Freedom Mobile's online sales portal. Mr. paid upfront over $400 and has been paying the monthly depletion for the phone as well.
However, as Mr. stated, the device was not shipped due to an error at the warehouse. Mr. has requested the device cancelled and a full refund provided.
Freedom Mobile has advised that this can be done, but the warehouse has not responded whether or not the device has been found. Freedom Mobile will re-escalate this issue with the warehouse immediately.
Due to the ongoing inconvenience, Freedom Mobile has provided Mr. a one month service credit of $44.07.
Freedom Mobile will provide more information on the investigation and refund as soon as it is available.
Kind Regards,

Not a SENIOR FRIENDLY Company!
Contacting Freedom Mobile "Customer Care" is a very frustrating experience. When you finally get through to a real person in "Customer Care" they act like they work for "We Don't Care".
We transferred 2 cell phone accounts to Freedom Mobile 10 months ago. In that time we have never received a paper invoice on time, in some instances it comes after the due date, or not at all. Every month I contact "Customer Care" for both accounts and each month I get the same empty promises.....your concerns will be escalated, and someone will contact me in 3-5 days. No one ever calls so I always call back and have to explain all over again. Having grown up before computers and online banking we tend to be old school and like to take a real bill into the bank. Freedom keeps blaming Canada Post for the billing issues. I contacted Canada Post with my concerns. Canada Post Customer Service asked if the envelopes from freedom have printed postage or a real stamp. I said the postage is printed in red ink . Canada Post directed me to the date that is printed as a part of the postage and told me that date is the actual date Freedom Mobile purchased and printed the postage.... In some instances Freedom has purchased the postage AFTER our bills are due. In other instances the postage was printed the day before it was due. No wonder our bills come late. In January 2018 I have made 5 calls to Freedom Customer Care explaining how they keep mailing the bills late or not at all. I explained the information provided by Canada Post regarding how and when Freedom purchases, prints and mails it's customer invoices. In my most recent call it was escalated from the office in the Philippians to the Escalations Department in Windsor Ontario where a woman told me that none of the staff care because they are all loosing they jobs because the call center in Windsor is being closed. She even said many of the staff in Windsor are trying to create problems for Freedom Mobile because they are going to be out of work soon.
Today is my first day with Freedom mobile and I am disappointed. Its not worth moving to Freedom mobile at this point, guys. Believe me.
I am at work, on the 6th floor in Mississauga. No signal , guys..Do you believe that? I am with the customer service for the 3rd time. The call is getting disconnected (calling from another phone)
Freedom Mobile..You are actually cheating customers by stating that you have a good service at Home region....NO WAY..
. I was told by a friend that these guys are good and at first it looked like the price was right. I went to the kiosk at West Edmonton Mall. They first charged me $10.00 for a sim card ,OK. Then they said that I would have to open an account for $32.00 OOKAY, I had my phone unlocked from bell and then when they put in the sim card they said that my phone was not compatible with their system. I really could not afford another phone. I went back and was told that they could re-reimburse the $10.00 but could not give back the $32.00 that I spent to open an account. I called the customer service and they wanted $4.99 just to talk to them.
for all the hate freedom gets I have been with them for 7 years and at first netork was not great but now it is awesome they even upgrade my old plan to 4g and added more bands to there network I am extremely happy with freedom *** and *** charge 3 time the amount I pay for what I have
Not only do you get dropped and missed calls, missed texts, texts that fail to send, rolling periods of no service, unable to activate cellular data network, horrible coverage, even in the few places they "have" coverage, periods when you simple cannot make or receive international calls, but then to just add that extra bit of delight, they throw offshore customer "serbice" at you where you can't speak with a supervisor.
I joined Freedom Mobile only a couple of months ago, I live in Vancouver and coverage can be spotty most of the time. I was planning a trip to Taiwan and South Korea, asked if I would have full coverage, including travel data and was told YES on two separate occasions.
When I landed in Taipei... NOTHING. ZERO coverage and you have no idea the hassle this is if you have not prepared for it. Luckily I had a friend with me that is fluent in Mandarin, was able to register a SIM card and added a pre-paid service for the two weeks I would be there. Please take note, if you simply land in Taiwan, haven't pre-registered with a carrier for cell service, you will be facing a lot of unnecessary hassle. Deciding NOT to take the chance after that, I pre-ordered a SIM card with travel data for Korea just to be sure, thankfully I did, because I re-inserted my Freedom Mobile SIM when I landed in Korea, re-booted my *** several times and again, ZERO coverage from Freedom Mobile... A company that PROMISED that I would have coverage in BOTH countries BEFORE I left on my trip.
Quality of Voice Call is very Bad. It sounds like we are talking over a poor internet connection.
When I signed up for the plan the reps confirmed that the fact that there were service towers in the metrotown area would mean that there would be no loss of service or noticeable difference from a major carrier. Frequently I cannot use my phone because of no service in the areas they guarantee service. When I asked the reps that signed me up if there was anything that could be done they said that I should have known about the poor service and refused to make any effort to help.
I have three cell phones with them on 2 year contract. Most of the time the phone is not working or it gets disconnected. They give lots of GB but what is the point if the phone is not working. I had a warranty they fixed the cell phone almost 4 times now gave me back, same thing is happening. Very upsetting as I am stuck with the phone which is not working most of the time.
I have 2 numbers with them and both stopped working for more than 24 hrs. Not even emergency calls. Stuck in Snow for 3 hours, could not call anybody. The moment I am out of contract, I am done.
! Billing always wrong, surcharges every time without fail. POOR NETWORK. I work in Mississauga and live in Toronto. They charge roaming when i'm at the office even though it's listed under their network coverage. Called many times to customer service, every single time is over 1h30 and yet no solution, nothing solved. Agents based in Philippines always end up telling me a supervisor will call me back within 48h. This is the 5 times I call back 96h in between each call and no one had contacted me. They suspended my account while they are the one not providing service.
Advice to all who plan for Freedom mobile they don't have coverage around mississauga rd and westward terrible customer service most important they overcharge for roaming within brampton area . They hook you for data offer but charge where again pass mississauga area .
