[Provide details of why you are not satisfied with this resolution.]We did play phone tag with the company for several days, but finally made contact. Their agent who installed our system lied to us and the company refused to take responsibility for his actions. Instead, they reduced our protection, but at least the price is now right. Will cancel this service at the end of contract.

This letter is in response to the complaint # [redacted] by [redacted]. By way of background, Defenders,
Inc.  DBA Protect Your Home is an Indiana
corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systems. We have been
an ADT authorized dealer since 1998 that sells and installs ADT monitored
security systems. Once the security system is installed, the contract is then
purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT.
 
In summary, Mr. [redacted] is concerned that Protect Your
Home will not return his emails in regards to a promotional flyer he received promoting
a monitoring rate of $27.99. He is a lasting customer and would like someone to
respond.
 
Although Protect Your Home installed Mr. [redacted]’s
alarm system, we are not handling the billing or serving of the alarm system.
ADT has purchased the contract and currently handles all aspects of the
monitoring and service agreement. He would need to contact ADT Loyalty at
1-800-730-0081 in order to discuss these concerns. Our records indicate he may
already be in communication with that team who offered to lower the monthly
monitoring bill. I apologize that I am not able to be of assistance.

Hello I dont under why I do not qualify for the release of contract?  Please explain why?  [redacted] has been having trouble getting the police report from the police department but he is still working on that, thats why the paper work was not recieved.

By way of background, Defenders, Inc.  DBA Protect Your Home is an Indiana corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systems. We have been an ADT authorized dealer since 1998 that sells and installs ADT monitored security systems. Once the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT.   In summary, [redacted] is stating that they are still being billed at their previous location and would like the account cancelled immediately and refunded. Also, they would like the Visa gift card immediately fulfilled versus following to redemption process including paying the shipping and handling.   I would like to suggest that his complaint be redirected to Blue Light Security. Blue Light is the company responsible for the address in question at [redacted]. Protect Your Home is only responsible for the new account located on [redacted].   In regards to the Visa gift card, it is disclosed on the advertisement that there are shipping and handling fees that apply when getting the Visa. It also stated that we use a third party company Known as MPELL for Visa redemption. As a courtesy, Protect You Home is going to immediately fulfill the Visa. [redacted] will receive the Visa in the mail within two weeks.  They have not called me back nor have they tried to resolve this issue whatsoever! I have requested to have the accounts canceled repeatedly and at this point they can feel free to cancel the new and terminate the old for the fee of $1250 and I will let this go before a judge! I am also going to contact ADT and try and get the amounts they've currently been charging, placed back in my account, as I have fully communicated that I am canceling all services with them! I will also continue to spread awareness about this company and their unwillingness to provide customer service and also that that they falsify dates on contracts and lie repeatedly, in hopes of saving others this kind of hassle! Thank you!

I just have a few comments: they stated that we were passed due in February 2015, I am questioning why we received a check for an overpayment on our account dated 02/20/2015 if we were passed due.  We never received anything saying that they were transferring our account to another provider in 2015.  Our payments were due on the 21st of the month.  Why did they begin calling before the payments (1/18, 1/19, 1/20, 1/22,1/25) were due and a few days after the payment was due?  In some instances we hadn't even received the bill and they were calling us.  We do not want this reported on our credit report as we have documentation that we received our bills past the due date.  If you don't receive a bill how do you know you have a  payment due.  We will be sending the balance of 109.38 on 09/29 to the collection agency as stated on this complaint.   I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this response/resolution is satisfactory to me if they agree not to report it to the credit bureaus.

We have been an ADT authorized dealer since 1998 that sells and installs ADT monitored security systems. Once the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT.   Summation of Complaint: Owner of complaint requests account cancellation. Acknowledgement of Resolution: In regards to Complaint #[redacted], we have carefully reviewed the matter and bring forth the following recommendations. Our office finds that client has spoken with 1 of our 4 day reps (Chase) in which they were informed that they were past their 3 day ROR. According to the terms of the contract, referencing Article 27, client would have to allow 3 “same service” attempts to trouble shoot the issue. A service manager must attend the 3rd “same service” appointment and deem the system “inoperable.” This process has not been exhausted, as our notes reflect multiple appointment reschedules on the part of the client. We would also like to bring forth that the client has acknowledged the terms and conditions of the contract via E-signature (electronic signature). We ask that the client contact our Customer Care/4 Day Department and schedule a service appointment. Ms. [redacted] decided to keep the service should we provide her a camera at no cost through ADT. I approved this request and a service has been schedule to add the security to her alarm system. Currently there is a scheduled conference call with her, me, and ADT tomorrow to discuss the details. It was recommended by ADT to cancel her through us and allow ADT to fully set her up from scratch. Once the balance is paid, all calls will cease. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

 I was not physically here for that 3 day cancellation period. Which that 3 day cancellation paperwork is not given until after installation. So I am a bit confused as to how these people think they are right, They are wrong and this will be escalated to the news and other places so people are aware that Defenders/ADT is nothing but scam artist and to steer clear of them. There are plenty of reports on Revdex.com website about them as well, this isn't like it was a one time thing. Its on going and I WILL BE SURE TO PUT AN END TO IT.

Since she signed a contract for three years with Defenders, she is responsible for 75% of the balance of the contract. ADT Corporate cancelled her account. Per Ms. [redacted], ADT did not explain to her that she would be in chargeback to pay the balance of the contract to Defenders due to early cancellation. Our Collections Team reached out to the customer several times and left messages.  The customer never called the Collections Team back to discuss the account.  The Collections Team would have offered to reinstate the account.  At this time the customer’s account is with a third party [redacted] Collection Agency [redacted] as of 12/17/16.  Per our Collections Manager, the customer will have to deal with the Collections Agency [redacted].We apologize for any inconvenience this issue has caused Ms. [redacted].
