I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that the response would not resolve my complaint.  
I have indeed contacted the collections department, and the loyalty department, several times.  No one is willing to help.  The last person I spoke to was Dante on 3-10-16 at 1535pm.  He offered to decrease the amount owed to 60% of the balance of the service.  I appreciate that offer, but I had one contract at Spinnaker Drive, I called Protect Your Home and told them I was moving, they told me I could "move my service" to my new residence.  I had new equipment installed at my new residence, and I was required to sign a new contract.  I spoke to Vanessa at Protect Your Home on 3-3-16 from the collections department, she said (in a recorded phone call) that "the old contract becomes void when I sign a new contract. The new contract becomes the in force contract. They would not have two contracts in force for the same service account".  I then went to the ADT website and asked the customer support "chat" representatives questions regarding the move policy and the contracts.  I asked both representatives what would happen to my first contract if I move, and sign a new contract at my new residence.  I asked two different customer care representative ( "Monica" and "Evigail") I asked the same question to two different ADT representatives, and they BOTH said...  "the first contract becomes VOID, and the new contract becomes the valid contract".  I had these ADT chats on 3-10-16 at [redacted] to Monica, and 3-10-16 at [redacted] to Evigail.  I have computer screen shots of these chats, showing the exact quotes above that the first contract becomes void.I had service at one address, I moved my service to a second address and had to sign a new contract. The first contract is then void, and the new contract is then the valid contract.  I then had to cancel my service to go to Georgia to help care for my mother who needed a caretaker after she fell and fractured her hip.  After getting this news, I cancelled my new contract within 3 business days, just as the contract clearly states I can do "Without obligation and without penalty".  I was verbally told of my right to cancel, and the installer had me initial the right to cancel clause on the bottom of page 1 of the contract.  I have a copy of that clause with my initials.  The installer came back and removed all equipment.  I even got a refund.I phoned ADT on 3-3-16 and spoke to Milton, operator ID [redacted].  He said "ADT shows that I have no balance due, no open service contracts, and NO early termination fee".  Milton (OID [redacted]) said "Protect Your Home should honor what ADT decides, being an authorized dealer of ADT who represents ADT".  ADT owns the contract after it is installed, and ADT says I owe nothing, and says I owe NO early termination fee.  That should be honored.  ADT says the first contract becomes void when a customer moves and signs a new contract, that should be honored as well.I ask that Protect Your Home please cancels this account in full as satisfied in full, with no early termination fee. Please cancel my contract and service in full "without penalty and without obligation" as the right to cancel clause states in the contract, which I signed.I do not have the approximately $1,000 to pay an early termination fee.Please, do as ADT advertises and states, that when moving, the first contract becomes void.  The contract does not state any where in it... that any previous contract can be re-instated, it is not in the contract.  I never agreed to that, nor was I told of that.  If it is not in the contract, it should not be enforceable.  Please close this account as satisfied in full with no early termination fee.

Oncethe security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed,serviced and maintained by ADT.  After reviewing the account, the account holder calledinto Protect Your Home on March 27, 2015. He received a flier for a basic package for $99.00.  The offer includes either fifteen hardwired orseven wireless sensors in the base packages well as a $100.00 VISA gift cardfor establishing service.  On the initialcall, Mr. [redacted] inquired about Cameras/ Video Surveillance.  The sales agent advised him that he wouldneed to discuss this with our installer since he can review more options tosuit his needs. The terms and conditions were played during the sales call,which disclose there are other rate plans available. The account holder called in on April 6, 2015 and April8, 2015, advising his dissatisfaction with the service due to the monthlymonitoring rate and wanting to cancel his service. Our customer loyaltyrepresentative spoke to Mr. [redacted] in regarding the complaint. We offered tocancel his account due to us not having the accurate email address on file,causing issues in receiving his electronic contract.  Mr. [redacted] called back in and requested we un-cancel hisaccount after realized the competitor he had spoken with had not fullydisclosed all fees. Our account services department adjusted his equipment feesby $323.51 to reduce his future payments. Dear Ms. Richardson, This letter is in response to the complaint # [redacted] by [redacted]. By way of background, Defenders, Inc.  DBA Protect Your Home is an Indiana corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systems. We have been an ADT authorized dealer since 1998 that sells and installs ADT monitored security systems. Once the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT.   After reviewing the account I show Ms. [redacted] in called in to obtain service due to recent flyer she received advertising 15 hardwired sensors or 7 wireless sensors in the base package. AND a $100 visa for signing up with Protect Your Home on January 26, 2016.  W show the customer installed on January 29, 2016. During the installation the customer she opted to purchase additional equipment $2289.75. We reflect that she has service February 3,2016 due to issues with the system and we address the issues. The 2nd service call is due to sliding door and we addressed the issues. Ms. [redacted] had another service appointment on March 11,2016 regarding issues with zone 26 ( Emergency Pendant) and to attempt to locate her main control panel. ADT CORP does offer an 6 month guarantee however there are certain stipulation on the incentive.  The incentive ADT offers is only refers to equipment. Which means, if a customer has had an equipment issue, and we have tried to fix the issue (has to be same exact equipment issue) with at least 3 completed work orders, and the customer is still having the same issue, then our Resolution team will release them from their contract.   I show Ms. [redacted] has been in contract with our escalations representative on July 8,2016 She would need to continue to work with our escalation representative to work to get a resolutions. By way of background, Defenders, Inc. dba Protect Your Home is an Indiana corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systems. We have been an ADT authorized dealer since 1998 that sells and installs ADT monitored security systems. Once the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT. In summary, Mr. [redacted] would like the hole fixed in his wall due to the installation of the alarm panel. He states he cancelled his order when he discovered he could not get the PULSE services at the initially quoted price. He states he contacted customer service in order to have the hole fixed, but was advised that he did not qualify for the damage claim process. Mr. [redacted] contacted Protect Your Home on January 11, 2017 in regards to an ADT Monitored alarm system. Although Mr. [redacted] showed interest into the PULSE services, the sales representative quoted the cellular service rate at $48.99 in error. The PULSE app does increase the rate to $52.99 and was explained to him by the technician on January 14, 2017. Unfortunately at that time, the panel was already mounted on the wall. Protect Your Home cannot offer PULSE at $48.99 so we are willing to offer reimbursement for the hole. I contacted Mr. [redacted] and he advised that the repairs would cost around $300. I requested that he send two to three contractor estimates in order to properly process his damage claim per company policy. Mr. [redacted] advised that it would be too much of an inconvenience, so I offered a $50 Visa reimbursement in which he accepted. The $50 Visa gift card is redeemed through [redacted] a third party company. Normally, there is a redemption process, but I went ahead and immediately fulfilled the Visa gift card. He will receive it in the mail within two weeks to the address we have here on record. Mr. [redacted] was satisfied with this resolution.                   This letter is in response to the complaint # [redacted] submitted by [redacted]. By way of background, Defenders, Inc.  DBA Protect Your Home is an Indiana corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systems. We have been an ADT authorized dealer since 1998 that sells and installs ADT monitored security systems. Once the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT.   In summary, the consumer is looking for a refund for equipment, removal from monthly auto payment, and an investigation into the allegations against the installer.   Our records indicate the account is eligible to be removed from the monthly auto payment option. There is a $1.00 per month additional processing charge for the paper invoice billing option. In regard to the charge in the amount of $221.54, this was to pay for additional equipment. At the time of install, additional equipment items above and beyond those offered were installed in the home. These additional equipment items incurred an additional charge. Any additional equipment may be returned within 30 days for a refund. Home, in addition to the refund of our monetary payments, Protect Your Home 
also needs to place/return our alarm system back to its original state before the Protect Your Home technician/installation  tech, David,  butchered our original system;  Protect Your Home , needs to return or keypad that was replaced
and take from our home.If Protect
Your Home refuses to take responsibility
for this unconscionable compromise of our home, and make us “whole” I will litigate
this matter in the Civil Department of the Superior Court of California. It
took Protect Your Home less than 45 minutes to place our system in a compromised
state ad hours to withdraw funds from my financial account.    I will allow only 10 days from the date of this
response for Protect Your Home to
remedy this situation in full.Respectfully Submitted!

Acknowledgement of Resolution: In regards to Complaint #[redacted] we have carefully reviewed the matter and bring forth the following recommendations. Owner of complaint under “express consent,” voluntarily provided contract signature. Their voluntary actions bind them to a “financial” duty relative to length of contract. Owner of complaint was provided access to the terms and conditions of the 36 month contract.  Failing to comply within contract’s three day opt-out period, contract holds as irrevocable (w/limited relief) and enforceable. Client brings forth a “reasonableness/ fairness” argument in regards to the terms and conditions of the contract. This is an unfounded claim, as client was given privy to the terms and conditions (during initial sales call/post install) of the contract. Client will remain responsible for the duration of the 36 month contract. His claim via Revdex.com statement is simply preposterous, client voluntarily e-signed a contract, therefore, acknowledging “reasonable person” comprehension of the terms/conditions thereof. Client cannot justifiably argue “disability” or “fixed income” as he was aware of both his physical and financial status prior to entering into a legally binding contract. If client is experiencing system issues, then our Customer Care department (800 689 9554), is available to schedule an appointment to trouble shoot any issues. We have confirmed that client is in receipt of a copy of the contract and via credit card authorization agreed to any/all relevant charges. Matters of billing and price adjustments, client would need to speak with ADT Corporate @ 800 369 0996 (opt 1 billing).  Regarding cancellation, client will be held to 75% BOC. He states he would like his money back and rate adjusted.Mr. [redacted] cancelled his services on December 15,2016 and his equipment was picked upon December 19, 2016. He did receive an equipment credit of $2,111. His equipment balance was $947 after the credit was used. After tax was included, it brought his final balance to $1,025.13. He will be refunded this amount now that the equipment has been removed. I got the first part of the refund on March 15 after a month and half of canceling the service as stated below.I am still waiting for refund of 02/14/16 ADTSECURITY MYADT.COM   800-238-2455 CO $81.32   I contacted the 800 381 1156 number provided below 3 or 4 weeks ago on initial response for my refund. I was informed to call another 800.371.9210 by your rep. I call that number and was informed that I will receive my refund within 5 to 7 business days. Its been almost 3 to 4 weeks and I don’t see any refund of $81.32 on my credit card. My problem is I don’t understand why do I have to keep calling several different 1-800 number and spend hours on phone to get my refund back to my credit card for the cancel service almost more than 45 days ago. It seems you want me to  waste my time and go in circle for a refund for which you took my credit card info and charge me 45 days ago. Kindly refund the $81.32 back to my credit card.Regards,

This business should send the request to remove the inquiry not only to Equifax, but to Transunion and/or Experian , as I see a Transunion score drop as well. By way of background, Defender Security Company DBA Protect Your Home is an Indiana corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systems. We have been an ADT authorized dealer since 1998 that sells and installs ADT monitored security systems. Once the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT.
We have reviewed Mr.[redacted]'s complaint pertaining to the recurring service issues. We offered a service appointment on December 1, 2014. At that time, Mr. [redacted] declined, but saved the contact information for future reference. We will review to determine if we are able to offer any additional resolution.
