Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/07/01) */ Received business response via e-mail to Revdex.com: "RE: Ms [redacted] File No: [redacted] Thank you for forwarding the complaint from Mrs [redacted] Although it is unfortunate when any of our customers has mechanical issues, unforeseen problems do sometimes occur with used vehiclesMrs [redacted] and Mr [redacted] purchased their vehicle from CarHop on March 29, and Universal Acceptance Corporation (UAC) (PA) holds their contractThe purchase included both a three day Satisfaction Guarantee and an month / 18,mile limited warranty, which covers major internal engine and internal transmission components, as well as the drive trainThe vehicle passed all State required inspections, as well as having a clean and clear Experian Auto Check prior to its sale I have spoken with Mrs [redacted] on several occasionsWhile under no obligation to do so, CarHop agreed to a satisfactory refund amount and UAC agreed to issue a Satisfaction of Debt (SOD) which relieved Mrsand Mr [redacted] from any further debt owedI again spoke with Mrs [redacted] on July 1, and she confirmed that she received their refund check and that she is satisfied with this resultIn addition Mrsand Mr [redacted] signed and returned the SOD documentI encourage Mrs [redacted] to contact me at the number below if she should have any further questions or concerns Please contact me if I may be of further assistanceThank You Sincerely, Julie [redacted] Customer Relations Specialist [redacted] " Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (2000, 7, 2015/07/01) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) In Response: Mediator for Carhop, Julie [redacted] was very polite and presented us with her companies offer to return HALF(wish it was 100%) of our deposit and discharge the debt towards the lemon-on-wheels salvage car we were sold.Although I agree to the settlement, The wording of the response saying Carhop was not obligated to give us a refund ...It is worded as if they are doing us a favor we don't deserve. But before I get too wound up, Let me take a breath and remind myself,"Not my circus, Not my monkeys" not anymoreBut....as long as I am required to respond, let me say...Fudged Inspection, Salvage Car,Washed Title, A real Lemon,But happy we agreed to disagree and settled this After many months of trying to get UAC/Carhop/Interstate Auto to comply with our request for repairs, replacement vehicle, refund to no avail, I filed with Revdex.com as a last resortMonths of tarnished credit, taking a cab and having no car during my yr old sister's funeral in mid-winter,I feel it is only when they were threatened with a lawsuit that they opted to comply with our generous request to merely discharge the debt of the carAs for the vehicle being inspected before and after we owned it, the person who did the inspection clearly fudged it, I know this because I had the car re-checked by Master Auto techs, who have PA State Inspection LicensesI was told that there is no way the vehicle would have passed. My husband has been a State Inspection tech for over years, A Master Auto Tech of years, and he knows a fudged inspection when he sees oneAFTER I returned the car, I ran a Car Fax report on my former car to find if the car was resold again with defectsIt showed the vehicle passed inspection with an "EXEMPT" emissions inspectionThis would not disclose the fact that the vehicle has a fuel system vent valve defect, which is dangerous and costly to repair.Although I did agree to accept the offer to discharge the debt, it is one I should never had that vehicle as a negative item on my credit in the first placeThe car was returned for being unsafe and unable to pass inspection I am just going to say that although I would have preferred to have had my ENTIRE deposit towards the car refunded, I am just going to chalk it up to experience and now I know betterI feel UAC/Carhop/Interstate Auto endangered lives and caused great distress.Did they settle the matter to my satisfaction? Yes.Am I thrilled? EhBut I digress, not my circus, not my monkeysI complied to their offer, I will not seek additional compensation for damaged credit, etc., no pain and suffering lawsuit, they need not worryI bow out politelyI have no further comment.Thank You Revdex.comThank You UAC/Carhop/Interstate Auto for settling this matterI am waiting for the credit bureaus to remove the item from my credit Regards, [redacted] and [redacted]

I think they did the right thing by letting him out of his contract
I am rejecting this response because:When I spoke to car hop I was told this would not be a repo and would not go on my credit as thatI declined to sign paperwork because it did not state anything that we discussedI called the police because Cheryl pushed me very hard and my significant other was a witness to thatI called my mother and she arrivedWe did not threaten anyoneWe said we have called the police and I will be getting a lawyer an that she had no right to physically assault customersThe car was in the shop for several weeks and I could not return the vehicle because of thatCar hop has told me several liesI have been told one thing over the phone and when I get there the story was different every timeI did not voluntarily return the car because I did not agree to sign the paper work and my car keys were snatched from meSaint Paul police were notified of all of this and charges are being pressed on CherylThis should not go as a repo and I should be free of my balanceThe carfax may show as clean but there are things that have not been reported because the driver door is not original and the front end has pieces broken up under as well as the rear lights and bumper that also seem to have been replaced as thou it was into a crashI do not at all agree

Hello Reading the response from the Carhop representative that "We are not obligated" confirms I made a bad choice returning for a second vehicle, which each payment is made in a timely manner I am responding to my complaint towards car hopI took it to one of their authorized mechanic's and the car needs additional repairs While car hop is taking responsibility for the repairs it is disturbing they are offering vehicles that are in need of this many repairs not even months into my getting the carThey should be made to have their cars pre inspected and that information be shared with the consumer They sold me a bad vehicle and want me to be okay with them doing the repairsThey should have not given me a car needing this many repairs, but they are taking my payments every two weeks I am NOT COMPLETELY SATISFIED by selecting yes, this many repairs should not have been an optionTheir practice of selling faulty vehicles needs to be investigated and consumers need to be made aware of this [redacted] L [redacted]

I do not accept the response as they covered the fuel pump repair when it failedThis is not "supposedly" covered under the limited warranty, however, it was covered Also, when we spoke to the UAC warranty department, they informed us that we no longer had any warranty at all as of December 31, The payment modification, or Skip A Payment, is part of the benefits that we earned by making our payments on time, not part of anything that UAC did to help us in this situationWhen we first called to ask about it, we were told that we did not qualify for the Skip A Payment at allIt wasn't until we spoke to Deann did we get any help at all I do not feel that the company did anything at all to help us with this situation
