Received business response via e-mail to Revdex.com:
"RE: Ms. [redacted]
File No: [redacted]
Thank you for forwarding the complaint from Ms. [redacted]. Although it is unfortunate when
any of our customers has mechanical issues, unforeseen...

problems do sometimes occur with used
vehicles. Ms. [redacted] purchased her vehicle on April 27, 2013, which included both a three day
Satisfaction Guarantee and an 18 month / 18,000 mile limited warranty, which covers major
internal engine and internal transmission components, as well as the drive train. The vehicle had a clean and clear Experian Auto Check prior to its sale.
Since her purchase, CarHop has honored its warranty in repairs. I spoke with Ms. [redacted] on several occasions. While under no obligation to do so and solely as a good will gesture, CarHop is
willing to pay for diagnosis into the current vehicle issue. Once we have a diagnosis, CarHop
will be able to determine how we can further assist Ms. [redacted]. Ms. [redacted] has taken her vehicle to a CarHop approved repair facility and CarHop is awaiting the diagnosis results.
I encourage Ms. [redacted] to contact me at the number below if she should have any further questions
or concerns.
Please contact me if I may be of further assistance. Thank You.

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2016/02/20) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The lady told me on the phone that they are going on a head and honoring the warranty. She is not saying that here. I would like for them to honor the extended platinum warranty as she said she was on the phone with me. Since my Tahoe is in the shop and repair man is under the same impression from her. Until my Tahoe is fixed by the platinum extended warranty as I was told o would like to keep this case open.

Received follow-up response from CarHop via e-mail to Revdex.com: "RE: Ms. [redacted]File No: [redacted]Thank you for forwarding the rebuttal complaint from Ms. [redacted]. Ms. [redacted]purchased her vehicle from CarHop on July 1, 2016, and Universal Acceptance Corporation(UAC) (CA) holds her contract. The purchase included both a seven day Satisfaction Guaranteeand an 18 month / 18,000 mile limited warranty. As stated in our first reply letter, CarHop arranged to tow the vehicle to a repair facility and payfor the diagnosis into the current vehicle issue. The result was that the vehicle only needed abattery, which is not a covered item under the limited warranty. As a good will gesture, CarHopreplaced the battery, and paid for the tow all at no cost to Ms. [redacted]. In addition, CarHophad to pay to have another key made because they key was not with the vehicle when it wastowed to the repair shop.I called and left numerous voice messages for Ms. [redacted], informing her that her vehicle wasfixed, at no cost to her and she may pick it up. Ms. [redacted] abandoned the vehicle at therepair shop and never returned any of my calls.Ms. [redacted] is passed her seven day return policy; therefore CarHop is unable to issue her arefund. However, UAC has released her from her contractual obligation. Please contact me if I may be of further assistance. Thank You.Sincerely,Julie [redacted]Customer Relations Specialist###-###-####"

Thank you for forwarding the complaint from Ms. [redacted]. Although it is unfortunate

I have spoken with Ms. [redacted] on several occasions. While under no obligation to do so, UAC
agreed to issue Ms. [redacted] a Satisfaction of Debt (SOD). Ms. [redacted] received her SOD on July
3, 2015, which relieved her of any further debt owed in exchange for returning the vehicle.
Furthermore, again, while under no obligation to do so and in an effort to once again exceed Ms.
[redacted]' expectations, CarHop refunded Ms. [redacted] a partial refund.
I spoke with Ms. [redacted] on July 9, 2015 and she stated that she is satisfied with this result. I
encourage Ms. [redacted] to contact me at the number below if she should have any further

We installed stuff for car hop and I am not sure what he is complaint about. We just install car hops parts his complaint needs to be against car hop. We are at car hops discretion, he bought it from there, the transmission went bad, and we...

installed a new one. We only install for car hop they buy the parts. He never paid us or anything like that. The customer has the car, and it needs to be against car hop.

Upon researching the facts, Mr. [redacted] had a previous vehicle from CarHop that was involved in
a hit and run accident. CarHop was able to work with him to get him into this vehicle. In June
2015 Mr. [redacted] took his vehicle into [redacted] and they reported that the vehicle had been in an
accident. However, Mr. [redacted] denies being involved in any accident. It is important to mention that Mr. [redacted] has driven the vehicle 3,231 miles since his purchase.
Nonetheless, to best assist Mr. [redacted], I contacted UAC. While under no obligation to do so and in an effort to exceed Mr. [redacted]'s expectations, UAC issued Mr. [redacted] a Satisfaction of Debt (SOD) when he returned the vehicle on June 26, 2015. The SOD relieves Mr. [redacted] from any further debt owed on the vehicle. I spoke with Mr. [redacted] on June 25 and he stated that he is satisfied with this outcome. I am rejecting this response because:
They have replaced a few things with the car, but, they ONLY replace with their parts, and they are USED parts. Nothing new was placed into the car, besides the things that I replaced. Again, I do not agree with nothing that they are saying, and want to be done with the car and UAC.   Thanks, [redacted]

used vehicles. Ms. [redacted] purchased her vehicle from CarHop on November 18, 2014 and
Universal Acceptance Corporation (UAC) holds the contract. Included are both a three day
Satisfaction Guarantee and an 18 month / 18,000 mile limited warranty, which covers major
internal engine and internal transmission components, as well as the drive train. The vehicle had a clean and clear Experian Auto Check prior to its sale.
On or about April 1, 2015 Ms. [redacted] took her vehicle to Courtesy Car Service. Per Courtesy, the
throttle cable was frayed, and the vehicle needed a catalytic convertor, both of which are not
covered by the limited warranty. Therefore Ms. [redacted] would have had to pay for those repairs
first, than CarHop would be able to repair the head gasket under the limited warranty.
Unfortunately, Ms. [redacted] refused to pay for the non-covered repairs. It is important to mention
that Ms. [redacted] had driven the vehicle 10,355 miles in only four months.
To best assist Ms. [redacted] I consulted with UAC. Ms. [redacted] has failed six out of seven payment
plans with UAC; however UAC was still willing to work with Ms. [redacted] to help her get her
delinquent account current. Unfortunately, Ms. [redacted] was not able to make a payment; therefore
Ms. [redacted]'s vehicle was repossessed on or about April 21, 2015.
I spoke with Ms. [redacted] on several occasions and made a few offers to assist. On April 30, 2015
Ms. [redacted] accepted the Satisfaction of Debt (SOD) offer. The SOD will relieve Ms. [redacted] of
any further debt owed. I instructed Ms. [redacted] to return the keys to the Maplewood CarHop Sales
location and at that time we will issue a SOD to Ms. [redacted]. I again spoke with Ms. [redacted] on
May 5, 2015 to inquire when she will be going to CarHop to sign the SOD. Ms. [redacted] informed
me that she will be going to CarHop next week. I encourage Ms. [redacted] to contact me at the

I am rejecting this response because:
I don't accept the response as resolving the issue. First of all its amazing how something major goes on car after warranty is expired. Also there have been non stop issues with car since I had it. Also when spoke to Carhops rep she pushed it off for me to speak to the new finance company Cobar Aquisitions. They didn't sell me the car Carhops did. Its going to cost me more to repair the car than its worth to get it able to pass inspection. I feel they should either help with repairs or let me repair car on my own and write off my balance as me being paid in full.
