The person at the Fairfax VA Empire Today store sold us incorrect trims for our ceramic tile where it meets the carpet and the stair. He sold us items which are used for Vinyl tile. I was told by the installer that I SHOULD GO to [redacted] and BUY THE ITEMS MYSELF. The manager of the Fairfax VA store sent me photos of the items which I was sold incorrectly as the new items which she was getting. The installer cancelled the installation and walked off the job even though the manager of the Fairfax VA store said to stay. I was called by the salesman of the store (the one who sold me the wrong items) to come in to the store to see the new pieces. I told him that the manager was to send photos. He said no. I cancelled the entire order. This is stupid and inconvenient and should never have happened. I am so very upset. Original salesman told me he had been in the business for 23 years. HA. What a TERRIBLE COMPANY. BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE.
I had them install a laminate floor in my living room after negotiating a fair price. Installation was fast and detailed. I'm happy.
We purchased carpet a few weeks ago from Empire. They called to arrange installation for Friday, March 24. They came - showed me the carpet - which was thrown in the back of a van with everyone's ripped up, dirty carpets that had been removed from other customers houses. Once they remeasured, they actually asked me for the balance of the money without leaving any carpeting. This caused a dispute and we settled on giving them a check for half of the balance. Yesterday, we were told they were doing the install today- April 2. As no one has yet showed up, my husband called and they said they moved it to April 8. Now this is the second time someone has taken off work to be home. This is unacceptable. Trying to call customer service and no one is available with an answer. These people are crooks and I would NEVER recommend them to anyone. Two vacation days lost and no resolution - plus they now have 3/4 of the money in their pocket. Not only are we disgusted with Empire installation group but just as disgusted with their total lack of customer service.
A great experience, throughout the whole process from scheduling appointment all the way through installation. We will certainly buy from them again in future for other flooring needs.
This was the second time using Empire for our carpeting needs. We were very happy with our previous purchase so we called then again. Happy customer again. Installer was very nice too!
I used Empire for my flooring needs and they done a GREAT JOB. I'am Happy with their service. Looking forward to using their service again.
I ordered carpeting from Empire during their 50/50/50 sales promotion. The salesman came to my house and everything seemed fine. I set the install date for Aug. 10, 2016 which was about 3 wks from the time I ordered the carpeting. ONE DAY before my install date, I got a call that told me the carpet could not be installed that day because they did not have any installers available in my area (Chattanooga). They said they were currently looking to resolve that problem. I stayed in touch with the company until August 29th (all the time they told me they were resolving the problem) when they said that what they had been working on had fallen through and we would need to start from ground zero! I cancelled my order. WHY WOULD A COMPANY SELL CARPETING IN AN AREA WHERE THEY DON'T HAVE INSTALLERS?!!!! I have a feeling that they just strung me along because they did not want to install a carpeting for 1/2 price. Doesn't make any sense otherwise.
The sales person was very professional and didn't make it seem like we were a burden because of our budget. She worked with us to get to a price point that I needed for my floors. The installation was done swiftly and they did a wonderful job.
Just called empire today about the issues I have with my carpet that was installed a little over a year ago. I wish I would have read the reviews and complaints before I decided to go with empire today. by talking to the representative it sounds like it will cost more money on top of the thousands I am paying for this carpet to be fixed. having had carpet before and the only issue I had was it wore down after 8 years compared to having the carpet coming up and wearing down after only a year! pleas stay away. you may have better work ethic and products with home depot or a smaller company who takes their customers interest to heart! I feel like I will be filing a complaint after I see this inspector.
I had a thoroughly positive experience - thank you!
This company has always been extremely easy to work with. I have used them 3 times for carpeting and bathroom areas. Pricing is reasonable and the work has always been perfect. Highly recommend.
I would highly recommend Empire Today to ANY of my friends and family. I was very pleased with the entire process; from setting the free consultation online to the completion of the installation of my new carpet and vinyl flooring.
Great satisfaction with Empire Carpet.
The price is significantly lower than competitors and very impressed with the short space of time it took to have the installation done. Very professional- highly recommend!
Im filing a complaint against this company, as well as submitting a negative review on them. They delayed my installation dates 4 times, showed up finally the day after thanksgiving, ended up leaving my home in the middle of installation due to miscommunication with the installers. When they saw me calling the 800 costumer service number, the 2 men jumped in their truck and left. I called the costumer service again, after they were supposedly located by phone, they said I wouldn't let them back in my house and they were standing outside? This company is a joke, please do not do business with them.
Im dealing with floor damage due to straight glueing onto my wooden floors, currently still without carpet.
We had carpet installed By Empire Today. We had a very pleasant and positive experience from them. The salesman was very knowledgeable and even came back when we couldn't decide affirmatively on the color. We decided to have carpet put in on Friday with installation on Monday before Christmas. The crew (for men) that installed the carpet were very fast and came promptly at the time they said on Monday a.m. and they were done long before noon. They really couldn't do enough to help us in moving the furniture etc. the seam that had to be taken in the threshold and along one side near the outer windows was unnoticeable. I wish all service people wear this in tune to customer service. This was an outstanding experience!
We hired Empire to install vinyl plank flooring in our kitchen and foyer of our home. We are *extremely* disappointed in not only the installer’s shoddy workmanship, but also in Empire’s lack of response to our concerns. It’s obvious the company doesn't take customer concerns seriously despite the severe impact to its reputation.
Not only was the trim not installed correctly, but it is dangerous. In our foyer, the sharp metal edge of a transition strip was exposed and not properly secured. Large, mismatched screws were used and weren't installed flush with the strip, causing a tripping hazard and presenting the potential for cuts. Further, the installer removed certain screws on the transition strip he initially installed, but left the exposed holes on the strip after he relocated the screws. In our kitchen, the flooring was cut too short in several spots, and the trim used didn't cover it up. In most areas, he pieced together several lengths and corners of trim, which collectively overlapped with existing door trip.
In addition, part of our original work order was to stretch existing carpet. This wasn't done, and when we asked the installer about it, he said he didn't have the equipment with him. The next day when he returned to finish the job, he said it was bad on his knees and we should call customer service.
When I promptly called customer service, I was told they don't stretch carpet. Why was it written on the work order then? I also was told we couldn't get a different installer to fix our job, but they would send the original guy back out. He arrived the next day and did replace the metal, screwed-in strip with a laminate track-based one, which looked better. However, this too wasn't installed properly and shortly after he left, it popped up leaving a loose edge.
I called customer service again, was told my concerns were top priority, was given a reference and assurance I'd receive a call the next day. That was 4 days ago and I'm still waiting for the call. My complaint via [redacted] was ignored, and on Twitter I received a template response asking me to email customer support, which I did. Again, no response.
I PURCHASE BEAUTIFULL CARPET FROM EMPIRE TODAY. THERE WAS NO PROBLEM WITH THE INSTALLATION AT ALL GREAT JOB. THE PROBLEM CAME IN WHEN THEIR WAS SO MUCH CARPET LEFT OVER. I PAID FOR CARPET THAT I CAN AND WILL NOT. THE GUY THAT DID THE MEASURING REALLY DID DO A MESS AT MEASURING THE ROOMS. NOW SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN CALLING, ON HOLD, AND CALLING WITHOUT ANY RESULTS. IT FNNY I DIDN'T HAVE A PROBLEM GIVING THEM MY MONEY FOR THE CARPET.
I just had Empire install 500+ sq feet of laminate in my town house. I scheduled an appointment on 10-14-15 for 10-15-15. The scheduling process was done on line and took only minutes; I received a confirming email in minutes and a reminder phone call, as well as an automated call advising the sales rep would arrive in 30 minutes; which he did. Very polite, knowledgeable, friendly, and NO PRESSURE consult. Jim returned and we signed the contract 10-10-15, and scheduled for install on 10-12-15. The installers, Juan and Steven, arrived on time, and were also polite, and knowledgeable. Juan took his time to walk the job with me and we discuss placement of the flooring, with a portion of the job being a difficult staircase that has 3 landings, 2 left turns and 16 stairs. They finished the first floor on the first day, and spent a long 11 hour 15 minute day the next making sure that each and every cut for those stairs was nothing less than perfect! They left the garage clean and cleaned the floors with Bona. They are very proud of their work and it certainly shows. I am very very satisfied and would recommend Empire to anyone. Easy process from start to finish. I would have nominated them for the Revdex.com Torch Award, however, the deadline for entries was September 30, 2015.
I am very unhappy with the work thart was done. I had hardwood floors put in, workmanship was very sloppy. The wood is dicolored, it is also seperating from floors and the ground round is seperating from the wall. I called customer service on Thursday, I didnt get a call back till Momnday at 3:30 when Erin from Philadelphia called back with an attitude, stating we had to pay for them to come out and do an inspection. I asked to speak with a supervisor, Erin said there was none available till in the next day. I then asked for her full name which she refused to give. she stated "Tell them Ein from the Philadelphia office". At this point it doesnt seem like this company is going to rectify the problem. As far as customer from this lady Erin, the worst Ive ever had to deal with.
I contacted Empire to get a quote for a replacement installation in a small bathroom. We were very pleased with the sales rep who showed us numerous samples and gave us, what I feel was a good price. The installer came on time, was knowledgeable and friendly . The installation was done on time and with no issues at all.
Overall, at this point, I am quite pleased.
