We have two a/c units out One has been out for month after calling in to AHS They sent out A** D*** in Orlando and W*** C*** in Orlando to our house who immediately tried to up sell us on a new system They say we have a leak but I am not sure this is true They charged us for a Freon fill and it leaked right back out The recommended contractors have come taken parts, destroyed the system, and never come back Both have been full of it W*** C*** even told me the line set is $for the line not including labor AHS is not supportive The hold times are ridiculous, the customer service reps are not focused and encourage your discouragement to not follow through The contractors are on the take Everyone of them have tried to sell me a new systems I am h**ing an attorney to handle AHS this is ridiculous Now I am sitting here in Florida, no a/c, both line set cut and no one is answering or pushing me out weeks at a time No follow upI have to call and call and call to be told nothing Do not purchase AHS They are not a good company

American Home Shield is worthless We have experienced problems with our toilet, plumbing, dishwasher, etcand each time AHS has sent F rated companies, with multiple customer complaints, to our home for these repairs Almost every single repair was never handled properly and we have had to submit a second request to get it taken care of The fact that we have had to pay a $service fee each time these companies have come to "fix" a problem is absurd I would never recommend this "company" and their shady practices to anyone

I have been years with AHSI started when I moved into my new homeAs you know equipment will fail over timeOver the years I have had multiple repairs thru AHS from washer, dishwasher, fridge, air conditioning, water heater, well pump etcThey have always stood by their agreementThey even changed out a contractor if the contractor did not look like they could do the jobI am extremely happy with them and will continue to rely on their help when neededI can recommend them highly

Warning - Do not trust American Home Shield
AHS will not honor their contract by interpreting their contract in ways to deny your claim
AHS is very disorganized where when they deny your claim, different representatives will give you different reasons and will even tell you the previous reason was incorrect
AHS avoids ways to be sued by requiring you to go through arbitration with a company they selected and this company will first charge you $to just file the dispute Thus AHS set up this method to intentionally discourage any disputes
My recommendation is to AVOID American Home Shield When first signing up, AHS will tell you that other warranty companies would give you the run around if you make a claim which is exactly what AHS will do They will make their warranty sound very easy and that they will repair whatever breaks But this is NOT the caseAHS will do everything they can to deny your claim and avoid their responsibility There were a few class a

I've supporter of AHS since the early 1080's I'm Retired Military and was in Nevada when I initially signed up with the Company and Faithfully recommended them to anyone who was honest and needed a great insurance After being transferred to Texas buying a New House and after two years I again signed up with AHS House had all new appliances About years after signing up my Hot Water Heater stop working - I called AHS, they sent someone out Individual told AHS that my Hot Water Heater didn't meet TX standards Even though my House was built in I didn't understand why, but I went on and listened, however I had to pay over $to get my Hot Water Heater fixed AHS told me if I paid more they probably would have fixed it all The next time I renewed my subscription I paid more even though my initial contract covered everything possible except Swimming Pool I keep all the paperwork given me by all contractors that come out May have come out times after that and all went well Every time you pay the dispatch Fee, $Recently, I'm having to pay extra for Freon because AHS only pay the first $per pound, for the last times they have come out for the
AC System The only thing they do is put in Freon, that in itself tells you there is a problem that they just refuse to fix I'm currently waiting for my AC System to be turned back on because it's been of since Wednesday, it's now Tuesday of the next week I'm a Christian and also 100% Disabled and should not be living like this I think not only did the leak from the AC cause over a $3,problem my Home Owner's Insurance has to fix, it's also causing problem with my physical health from breathing in what's coming thru the vents I will do all within my power with God by my side to see this doesn't happen to anyone else I wouldn't recommend them to anyone

Do not use this companyI recently got a home warranty through them when I purchased my homeThe first thing I called about was when my humidifier brokeI was told they don't cover it because I didn't need a humidifierI then called about my garbage disposal, it turned out to be an electrical issue and not a plumbing issue, and I have now been calling and messaging them for over a month to get an electrician out, meanwhile, my garbage disposal is improperly wired and isn't even grounded, making a safety hazardDespite my month of efforts in trying to get someone out, I am now being told I have to make my home available whenever works for whichever company they choose to send out, and they will not work around my scheduleThey are completely unwilling to even check with any of the other electrical companies they work with because they said it isn't up to them to deal with scheduling issuesThe people are rude and this policy is turning out to be uselessTerrible customer service

I have been a customer of AHS for many years, and have mixed resultsThe last two calls for service brought nothing but a negative responseI did not receive a call back from a contractor, and had to call AHS, and their responsive was, since we live In a rural area it was hard to find a contractor, I would have not been contacted by AHS had I not calledOne of the requests, I finally gave up on and fixed the problem at my expenseThe other when they finally found someone, the contractor never calledI again contacted AHS, and they suggested that I contact the contractor, (I thought that was what I was paying them to do)Last week I contacted AHS about a heating problem with the ducts in my central air systemA contractor contacted me, after reviewing the problem, said I needed of the ducts replaced, he contacted AHS, and approval was given About hours later, I received a call from AHS saying that another person had decided that the problem was not covered, and it would my problemAt that point I had enough and I immediately cancelled my contract, and I certainly have no intention of recommending AHS to anyone

We purchased a warranty from AHS with the purchase of our new home in May of In Octof the same year we had a leak coming from our master bathI called AHS they had a vendor come out a week later even though they claim it will take place within 24hrsThe vendor that they sent *** plumbing started cutting random wholes in the ceilingThey then proceeded to just stick their phone up into the ceiling and leftThey told the AHS that there was copper pipe on galvanized so it was not coveredI knew that the service the plumbing company gave was not right so I requested a 2nd opinionThey cut a whole from the actual leak after measuring and there was not even copper pipe in the ceilingLuckily I did not accept the first one or we would have had to cover something that AHS should have from the beginningNow we are at the end of Janand I still have two holes in my ceilingAHS contract states that they will replace to rough finish within daysI have called times with a average wait time of hr and minutesThere hold states minutesEach time I call we are either waiting on a contractor, waiting on measurements, they cant find a contractor, etcI was finally given a direct line to a settle line and they then had not knowledge that is was to that stageSo I had to call back again and request serviceEach call the agents state they will call back within 24hrs and out of calls I have yet to have a call back in any mannerThere is zero follow up or accountability for any their or the contractors actionBy far the worst business I have ever dealt with

Terrible scam of a company Every time we call for service they deny the claim because of so muchSO MUCH fine print going on #our A/C was denied because it was BTU which doesn't make the 10,minLEAKING Bibbs are not covered because part of the handle is missing (still functions) *this goes under their missing parts not covered fine printAnd if they dont want to fix something they'll use the excuse of it "predates the contract" well if something JUST broke, how does it predate the contract? Paying a service fee of $EVERY time and having nothing fixed is why this service is a scamNot to mention the lump of money we used to purchase this service contract in the first place Bottom line is If you're thinking about this - don't do it You will be paying for absolutely no service at all The contractors are shadier than a palm tree- they'll take the service fee, tell you it's covered BUT they need to go get partsAnd guess what, they don't come back!

I am filing the complaint due to the fact that the service is in my opinion below parWait time to get someone on the phone is between - minutes (as a standard recording) Chat is only available when someone is interested to purchase the new serviceI had a service done on my fridge and the temp is not holding on the minimum of consequently my dairy products are not kept cold enoughI made the attempt times to get someone to call or respond to me ...no success...now I am cancelling the service....I did refer the company to my neighbor / friends and now I am letting my friends know to cancel their service

We have been with AHS for years and in the beginning things went smoothlyFast forward to the last years and it has been HORRIBLE! Every time something stops working we have to put up a fight with AHSFor the last years our AC never worked properly and AHS would not replace itThey would always want a quick fix and they wanted us to spend hundreds of dollars for something that would break again at the end of the summerSo my husband and I decided to replace it out of our pocket and paid over $But we decided to stay with AHS in case of any plumbing issuesOur kitchen sink does cause headaches at timeBut on Tuesday(8/11/15) our sewage ejector tank in the basement was leaking water into our basement and we called AHSWe first thought it was a sump pump and we were wrongThe plumber that came out was super nice and informed us we were wrong and it was actually a sewage ejector tankHe did say it needed to be replaced and he would contact AHS and we could schedule an appt to get it replacedOnce he was off the phone with AHS he said unfortunately AHS would not cover it and the cost to replace it would be $This is another item in our home which AHS would not replaceWe pay them on average $a year for piece of mind and its all been for nothingWe are beyond upset and are done with this horrible companyWe are currently in the process of cancelling our account!

If you want to cancel any service or your contract, they do NOT have a way to do it online as they state They also will not answer the phone any sooner than minutes at best Now I just want to cancel our contract and I am unable to contact anyone! The service is not good at all ether You can not choose from their list of contractors and some are not reputable I have checked reviews

I have had American Home Shield Since buying my home in 2008.For the first few years service was pretty much okThe companies they sent for repairs were at least knowledgeableI did discover that items replaced would not be the same as what was covered.I have a portable spa which in was repaired by a company that knew their jobAHS covered those repairsThis was in my contractI was not told at anytime that it had been taken out.When I called for repairs this year (in June) I still was not told that I was not coveredThey sent out a company that didn't know what they were doing
they kept guessing to what the problem was.I still was not told that my spa was not covered.AHS continued to dispatch service from this company and otherIt took from June to September for the first company to figure out the problem (the heater) It was replace and went out within a weekIt has since been taken care ofNow I get the information from AHS that they are denying payment because I was not coveredSo why have they been dispatching repairs for months without letting me know this I would have chosen a better company for repairs for one.I found that the contract had been changed in I had not been informed .Had I been I would not have renewed Also I had to have an instant hot water dispenser replacedI was told It would not be replaced with the same one or quality as the one I hadokThe one put in lasted yearWhen I complained of the about having it replaced with a better quality I was to they had to replace it with the same one that was in at present.Why didn't they say that when I had a good quality dispenser

AHS is the WORST!!!!! Cannot get anyone in customer service on the phone!! We submitted a service request weeks ago because our washing machine is broken and still have not heard a word from AHS or the contractor! I went online to our account to try to find out who the contractor was and it says "contractor unable to contact." I take it that they are saying the contractor has tried to contact us **! They have not called us one time! I have verified that all of our contact information is correct so this is a LIE! I tried to call the contractor directly and guess what? I got their voice mail that sounds like someone recorded from their cell phone while riding in a car with the window down I left message and again, guess what? No one has called me back from the contractor Not to my surprise, this contractor, Southway Contractor Specialists has a C- rating on Revdex.com!
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME!!!! We have cancelled our contracts, which by the way, we had with them! If this is what we have to go through every time, it's NOT worth it! We will be looking for a more reputable company with excellent customer service and contractors

I have had AHS for about 3+ yearsIn that time I have submitted several service request and have not had a smooth running experience yetOne request submitted went on and on for years and ended with AHS cancelling my request The problem I see is that I should not have to pursue the service company AHS selects to get the work doneMy first request which was for my water softener has not been completed to date (2-23-2015)The original request is years oldI am currently in plus months of the 2nd request to get the water softener fixed or replaced I do not have the time to track down they folk for a status reportAHS does not give progress reports on a regular basis I put in a request to get the washer fixed last spring and it took until last month to get it fixed I am seriously considering finding another provider

I have been an AHS customer for several years now I paid by check every month without fail This Oct when my contract automatically renewed they changed my payment plan, without permission, to a 3-month payoff then called to tell me I owed them money because they did not receive the 1/they wanted upfront Then they told me if I wanted to stay on the 12-payment (monthly) plan I should have called them at renewal time Then they transferred me to customer service to fix the problem (min wait) that they had caused When I spoke to customer service I was that they automatically change to the 3-month payment plan every time contracts renew for all their customers unless told otherwise
Next problem - I got them to change it back to my plan, at which time they told me I had to give them a credit card to bill - they no longer accept checks That's fine - the payment was coming out of my checking before anyway Then it hit me I said "wait, does that mean when my contract renews again you would automatically change it back to the 3-month payment plan and draft my account for the higher amount?" She said yes, unless you call on the last day of the contract and change it again." I gave her my debit cad and told her I'd be cancelling at the end of the contract, even put it on my calendar and told her "a company with such poor customer service policies doesn't deserve my business Imagine - they expect all their customers to call them up to say don't change my payment plan and are now forcing them to pay the higher payment if they do not

This company is a JOKE The warranty agreement has so many exceptions to it that they wind up covering nothing They obviously hire the WORST contractors to do their repairs I had a heat pump with a stuck reversing valve Their contractor came out on February 29, As of April 20, it has NOT been fixed I called AHS multiple times to address the issue They seem to have no control over the contractors they hire who just show up when the want, charge what they want and do nothing else The contractor that came to my house took the $"service fee" and hasn't been back AHS also has a CLASS ACTION WAIVER and MANDATORY ARBITRATION clause in their agreement so if you ever get into a dispute you are powerless to do anything about it AVOID THIS COMPANY and their predatory business practices

This is my first experience with AHS as we have never used a service like this in the past and now I know why Our AC system quit working and the temp outside was in the 90's hot and humid I called AHS to get a technician to come out, they gave me the standard 24hrs to respond and then hrs for someone to come out I made the decision after minutes with still no air, that I didn't want to wait possibly days to have a solution to our problem of no AC, so I called a local HVAC service company Not only did they answer the phone right away (I didn't have to be on hold for 30min like with AHS) They told me that they would send a technician out that very day, and within hours the technician arrived, had the part we needed He installed it and was on his way in less than minutes His service charge was $and not $as quoted by AHS So as a responsible consumer I called AHS to cancel the service call, which I was on hold for min, on hold total 1hr 15min

This company is terrible! We've had two home issuesOne vendor didn't fix the appliance right The other time they sent a vendor to fix it & they never showedThe vendors are coming from literally HOURS away, so coordinating times is impossible and we've had to take time off work just to have a vendor not showThen we're told by AHS that the issue wasn't part of our contractSo why did they schedule the service? Awful customer service when we called!! Now I'm currently sitting here on hold -- for going on MINUTES -- waiting to speak to the cancellation department! Don't use this company!!
