Being a first time home buyer, I was unsure what level of service to expect from a Mortgage company. But I would have to say that Toby S and the team he works with are exceptional. And always took the time to make sure that I understood the process from start to finish. They seemed to always be available to help me and made me feel as if I was the only person they were working with to close a loan, when I know they had several at the same time. They all were fantastic and just want to say thank you.

We were actually a seller of a home in the Kansas City area and our buyer used Academy Mortgage for their home loan. The buyer's lender promised to close on a Friday but was unable to meet her commitment (Wendy M). The buyers were on tight time line and had taken time off to move in that weekend (we had already moved out to Portland, OR). The buyer's representative asked if they could take possession (move in) before formally closing the following week. Although we wanted to help their situation, we told them no for liability reasons. Anyhow, the lending agent (Wendy M) then called us (the sellers) and asked what is wrong and why aren't we letting them move in ahead of closing. She said everything was a go. We told her we simply wanted to wait until after the transaction took place because that would make better business sense. She then said we should have really used a realtor to sell our home in a condescending way (we did FSBO). Her tone and disrespect regarding our decision was appalling. We were not her client and she didn't have any business even calling the seller. She was totally out of line. Wendy is at the Lee's Summit, MO office.
