I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Review: I have tried multiple times to stop this business from putting their advertising in my mailbox. It did stop after multiple requests but now it has begun again. Their multiple pages of advertising is a major contributor to land fills as most people throw them away.Desired Settlement: Stop all mailings from this business.
Review: I HAVE FOR THE 3RD TIME REQUESTED TO BE TAKEN OFF THEIR ADVESTISING MAILING LIST. EVERY DAY I GET TONS OF PAPERS WITH ADVESTISING THAT I AM NOT INTERESTED IN. MY FRIST ATTEMPT TO BE REMOVED WAS MONTHS AGO AND I SUMITTED IT AGAIN A MONTH AND A HALF AGO AND ONCE AGAIN TODAY. PLEASE TAKE ME OFF THIS LIST. IT CAUSES A MESS WHEN THROWN ON MY PORCH AND I WOULD LIKE IT TO STOP.Desired Settlement: I WANT TO BE TAKEN OFF THERE ADVERTIZING MAILING LIST IMMEDIATELY.

Review: I never signed up for Redplum's mailer. Then I started getting it in the mail. For over a year now I have been trying to get myself removed to no avail. Their mailer is made of cheap, shoddy paper that rips as I try to remove it from my (admittedly) small mailbox, and all my other letters which I actually care about end up mixed in with their cheap, trashy Redplum mailer.Desired Settlement: I want them to actually honor the agreement they make on their website that they will stop contacting you if you fill out their form. I want them to stop mailing people that never signed up for the service.

Review: I receive mass mailings from Valassis aka RedPlum every week and have tried numerous times to remove myself from the mailing list. The company's website has a form for removal but it is not functional and will not allow me to actually submit my info once I have entered it. I tried calling the company to be removed and the phone promt said to hit 3 to be removed from the mailing list. When I hit the number 3 it says call cannot be transferred. I feel like Valassis/Red Plum is harming the environment with its mailings, and essentially harassing me by providing me with more and more garbage and not allowing me to be removed from its lists despite numerous attempts. This company should be reprimanded or shut down because it serves no purpose but harassment of consumers who have the misfortune of having a mailbox.Desired Settlement: I would like this company to be held accountable for its terrible customer service and harm to the environment.

RE: Case#[redacted] - Ms. [redacted]
Review: I have been receiving this business' RedPlum coupon package in the mail for some time. A few months ago I sent them an opt-out request asking them to stop sending it to me. Their website states that it will take 5-6 weeks for me to stop receiving it. I received one over the weekend and it has been a lot longer than 6 weeks since I asked them to stop sending to me. I have absolutely no use for their coupons as all of them are for products I never buy and it is a clogging up my recycle bin.Desired Settlement: Acknowledgement of my request, plus a complete and permanent cessation of them sending me their junk mail.
Review: 5 years ago, we unsubscribed from receiving their Redplum package in the mail and we recently started receiving it again. We've unsubscribed but the customer service rep tells us it's their company policy to re-add the unsubscribed addresses to their database after 5 years.Desired Settlement: We want to permanently unsubscribe from their package for the rest of our lives! We do not want to receive this package, it is killing trees and clogging up our mailbox to the point where our mailman has to put our mail on the floor because their useless Redplum package takes up most of the space. We also want them to remove our address immediately despite their "5-6 week" processing time. Thank you.

Review: I am consumer that uses the Redplum packets. I guess that this seems trivial but I would like to know the exact name of the delivery person who passes out these circulars. He has a very nonchalant way of THROWING these circulars out. He never seems to pass these circulars on my property and leaving two of them on my neighbors property.Desired Settlement: I waant to know the NAME of the person who does this and the supervisors name also!

We are in receipt of your letter dated November 13, 2014 regarding a complaint from Ms. [redacted]s whose address is [redacted]. Ms. [redacted]s requests that she receive our RedPlum® packages via private carrier delivery. However, we are unable to deliver Ms. [redacted]’s address via private carrier at this time. Instead, we have been mailing Ms. [redacted]s’ RedPlum® via first class mail on a weekly basis. Please note that we do not distribute RedPlum® to all areas or all addresses in an area and that the method we use to distribute the package is at our discretion. In the case of Ms. [redacted]’s address, we are currently providing RedPlum® via postal mail.We are pleased that Ms. [redacted]’s enjoys receiving our package, but can only provide one package per address and not multiple copies. Additionally, we do not give out the names of individual carriers or employees to consumers. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have. I can be reached by calling Valassis toll-free at ###-###-####
Review: Despite repeated attempts to be removed from their mailing list via their provided online form and also via email, Valassis continues to send me their RedPlum mailer. I have filled out their online form with all requested fields and waiting well over the 5 to 6 weeks they say it takes to be removed, and yet I continue to receive the mailer. I have emailed them asking to be removed from their distribution list, but I just get a canned response back apologizing for "the inconvenience." I sent a followup email telling them not to contact me again unless it's to confirm the removal of my address from their distribution list, but they just replied with a similar response.Desired Settlement: I want them to actually remove people from their distribution list when we fill out the online form. I shouldn't have to contact them several times, and then report them in order for them to remove me. I want them to respect the American population, and the environment, by not sending mailers to people who don't want them. I don't want to have to go through this whole process of contacting them multiple times and then reporting them again if I ever move and want to remove my new address from their mailing list. I never want to see another RedPlum in my mail box, ever.

RE: Case #[redacted]
Dear Ms. [redacted]:
We are in receipt of your letter dated October 7, 2014 relaying a complaint from Mr. [redacted]. We removed Mr. [redacted]’s address of [redacted] effective 10/3/14.
It takes approximately five to six weeks for this process to become fully effective as Valassis pre-prints its mailing labels in advance. Mr. [redacted]’s removal status will remain effective for a period of five years. He will have to contact us again by 9/2/19 if he wishes to renew his address removal for an additional five years.
If after the six week period Mr. [redacted] still receives our package he should contact the local Post Office and inform them that Valassis is no longer printing a piece for Mr. [redacted] and therefore the postal carrier should not put a piece in his mailbox. The Post Office should only deliver to consumers that we have produced an address label for. As of October 3, 2014 Valassis will no longer be producing one for the address listed above. While Valassis is no longer printing a mail piece for this address, Valassis does not have control over the Post Office and how they deliver the mail. Mail delivery is controlled solely by the USPS®. Also there are many companies other than Valassis that send out advertising circulars and catalogues over which we have no responsibility.
If the consumer has any additional questions they may feel free to contact me Toll-free at ###-###-#### and select option #*. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. eastern time.
Sincerely,
Director, Data Solutions Group
Review: I contacted Redplum (of Valassis) to disassociate a name with our current house address. Customer support at ###-###-#### transferred me to [redacted]. [redacted] said that they did not have the name (Mr. [redacted]) associated with our address and that there was nothing he do about the mailings. When I asked to speak with his supervisor, [redacted] provided the name [redacted] and the number ###-###-#### (which is a fax number). When I attempted to speak with [redacted] again I was transferred to the Legal Department automated voice mail. This run-around in resolving a person who is using our address is not being acted upon by Redplum.Desired Settlement: Require Redplum and Valassis to permanently remove our address from their databases.

Review: I have sent two requests via the company's web form (https://www.[redacted] to remove my mailing address from all mailings. The website specifies a waiting period of 5-6 weeks. I waited two months in between to make sure my request was received. I am still receiving paper mailings of grocery, restaurant, local business, and other business circulars and coupons via Redplum/Valassis as of today.Desired Settlement: I would like to be removed from their mailing list. Also, please make sure that other customer requests to be removed from the Redplum mailing list are honored in a timely and consistent manner. While redplum coupons are valuable to many people, Valassis must respect the privacy rights of its customers and follow all requests to be removed from mailing lists. This is also a sustainability and environmental issue, as much paper is wasted by sending these unwanted daily, weekly & other circulars.

Response:
Review: For years I have received unwanted advertising materials from redplum, distributed by Valassis, at my home address. I have repeatedly written to them to ask to be removed from their junk mailing list but they continue to send me unwanted, wasteful trash paper. With all of the environmental concern about waste and recycling, it galls me that this company continues to destroy the planet by sending out literally tons of unwanted paper trash every week. It is deadly to the environment and a waste of my time handling it each week.Desired Settlement: I demand that no further mailings from redplum or Valassis be sent to my address.
I furthermore demand that they cease and desist from inundating residents with unwanted junk mail which everyone immediately throws in the trash or recycle bin. They should be required to have a resident's name and address in order to send mail to an address. Because my address is not printed on the flyers, I have no recourse to get off their mailing list. The only solution will be to insist and enforce that they only send mail to specific addresses for which they have precise contact details.

Review: I have contacted this business more than 10 times, and spoke to customer service, to have the delivery of their advertisements to my home ceased. Every time I spoke with them they said they would cancel the deliveries, but it could take a few weeks. So every few weeks I called back and cancelled again. I have spoken to the delivery driver also and asked him kindly to stop throwing the papers on my property. That did not help either. These advertisements that are paper, are delivered in thin plastic, which when mixed with rain become a pain to clean off of my driveway where they are thrown by the street. The man who lives 2 doors up is disabled and cannot even get out to pick them up. Yet, the delivery driver will just continue to pile them up at the end of the driveway, week after week. It is just trash that is being dumped in everyones driveway and piling up in the older folks'. I saw no other option but to contact the Revdex.com as my next attempt to halt deliveries. If this does not work, I will file a police report for littering and go from there.Desired Settlement: Stop throwing your papers in my driveway once and for all.
