We have used Zenner and Ritter for many yearsThey have always been professional and reliableWe needed an emergency scheduling when our air conditioner went down during a heat waveThankfully, Andrew Bfit us in that day and skillfully fixed the problemWe had him return the following week to do routine maintenance on the furnace in preparation for autumnAndrew was extremely friendly, professional and a tremendous helpWe definitely recommend him and Zenner & Ritter

They sent a tech out within a couple hours of the call and he was friendly and helpful

My experience with hiring Zenner & Ritter Heating & Cooling Inc., has been one in which I have confidence in the work they doI have had a hot water tank put in and have had my furnace and AC serviced along with my humidifier for the past couple of yearsI would highly recommend them to other customers

I contacted Z&R by website with regards to my air conditioner unit Within a day they called back, asked several more questions to prepare for the service call and made an appointment- the same day They listened to my concerns about my air conditioner unit Upon arrival, I showed and explained the service rep the problem I was concerned with He immediately asked several questions and I took him to the furnace where he began a check of the unit, filter, and all the air conditioning mechanicals and electronics He then went to the outside exchanger and began the problem solving When he was finished, he clearly stated what he found and suggested a plan to alleviate my concerns The solution involved replacing an aged-original component of the unit, there was a cost involved, and he stated the cost, but he didn't push me into purchasing the part He was very professional, and also explained that the pressure level was within operation range for the unit - another of my concerns He reminded me that the unit was reaching replacement age but did not try to sell me a new unit The service call was a success I felt he knew what he was doing and had the skills and knowledge to complete the job effectively and efficiently I am satisfied with his work representing Z&R

I was very pleased with the service I received from the Zenner/Ritter representative, Andrew B., when I had my annual furnace and air conditioning units serviced He was polite, respectful and very professional

Zenner & Ritter came out to do a maintenance special on my boiler Unfortunately, the tech did not realize something was wrong with the pump, even though he asked me questions about it The next day I had water all over the floor and the pump was making noise, but apparently not working I was concerned that the maintenance visit had caused this problem, so the company had another tech come out He said the pump wasn't working and needed to be replaced, which he did very quickly Since the first tech should have found the problem, the second tech, Kevin, said there would be no charge for the second service call This was a good resolution and awesome customer service!!

Thank you for forwarding the information and concerns However, as the homeowner indicated, we are not the primary contractor as she received the services through the HEAP program The homeowner is correct that we require an individual of at least years of age to be present that is
authorized by the property owner to communicate or execute decisions related to the services being rendered. As indicated, the homeowners mother was at the residence and provided direction to our technician as to which furnace to service She also signed the required HEAP paperwork acknowledging completion and acceptance of the services. The furnaces are located side by side in the basement and were not labeled as to which supported the upper residence and which was for the lower HEAP will only provide the free maintenance for the residence in which the property owner lives and not a tenant occupied space Our technician did not 'destroy' the furnace; in performing the maintenance he found multiple failures of the heat exchanger Based on that the unit is not safe to operate due to the potential risk for carbon monoxide entering the ductwork / living space There is no financial benefit to our Company, HEAP or to the individual technician diagnosing a heat exchanger as failed through the HEAP programThe homeowner did visit our office and without provocation acted in an extremely aggressive manner After several attempts to calm the homeowner our manager did indicate that we would contact the police if the behavior persisted At that point she responded that she 'knew what to do' and went to the local precinct office and returned with a police officer We enjoyed a friendly conversation with the officer who departed shortly thereafter Since the date of our technicians visit our office has worked with the HEAP department and refused receipt of payment for services rendered at the address. HEAP has offered to send one of their other authorized contractors at no charge and the client has declined I also offered to meet with the homeowner through accompanying one of our technicians to review the findings as well as clean / maintain the other furnace at no charge to the homeowner. HEAP referred additional agencies in an effort to assist the client furtherIn summary, we did not 'break' the furnace but simply discovered a pre-existing deficiencyOur technician performed the maintenance based on the information provided by the claimant’s mother who lives in the same home I am befuddled by the anger and resentment the homeowner is directing at our staff and Company We discovered an issue that could have been contributing to health issues mentioned or possibly resulted in the worst of all mortal consequences. As always, we are happy to assist homeowners in addressing their concerns and needs. But a degree of fairness and common courtesy expected in return. If the claimant would like to discuss the matter further I respectfully request that she contact me directlySincerely, Brian Ritter NOTE: a heat exchanger with a hole, crack or split does not automatically result in carbon monoxide being released into a structure but it provides the opportunity for that to happen Any change in the system in the unit or its operating environment (change in wind pressure, gas pressure, combustion air, burner condition, etc.) Detectors purchased through retail stores are designed to alarm at approximately ppm The acceptable level of carbon monoxide is zero ppm (parts per million) inside the structureLow and non-fatal levels of carbon monoxide will result in symptoms such as fatigue, nausea, headaches, short term memory loss, etc
