Whitepages Inc Reviews (610)

I do not see that Ms. [redacted] has tried to contact Customer Support asking for assistance with the removal of a listing on Whitepages. We are able to remove information on behalf of individuals, but they will want to contact us directly for that request. I was able to find a listing for [redacted]...

[redacted] and have removed that listing from our site.
We get our information for people search results from a broad variety of publicly available information sources and third party data suppliers. For a description of our information sources, please visit our Help section. It is possible for new information to be added in the future, so we encourage users to visit our website periodically.

There is no personal information at the listings provided. What the customer is referring to is a search optimization feature.

We have reviewed your account, and have cancelled it and refunded one payment of 19.95 for the period not used. Please let us know if you have further questions.

Revdex.com:I reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. They do, however, need to make technical changes to their system immediately. Just because a customer responds to an automated email from customer support to follow up on the status of a customer submission their system shouldn't automatically reclassify the initial customer complaint as a new one and push it to the bottom of their que. in addition, refusing to allow customers to reach an actual person on the telephone is totally unacceptable and they need to hire more people to accommodate customers if they're experiencing a high volume of compalints as we, the customers, didn't ask them to collect or post our personal information on their website nor did we give them permission to do so, directly or otherwise.Regards,[redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:I have provided this specific information numerous times via the webform and email form at Whitepages.com. Yet they have consistently refused to remove my personally identifiable data from public view, despite prior complaints to the Revdex.com. Once again - The URL referred to is: http://www.whitepages.com/name/[redacted]I am also attaching a screen print. Sincerely,[redacted]

Thank you for contacting the Whitepages Customer Care Team, my name is Steven. I wanted to follow up with information regarding the listing you reported.  Whitepages respects your wishes in controlling how your information is displayed. I'm happy to report that we've found and removed any...

contact information associated with the persons included in your request. Within 24 hours, these data profiles should no longer appear through our services. Please note that Whitepages is not the only company that publishes contact information online. If privacy is your main concern, I recommend searching for other websites that may potentially publish personal details. Lastly, if you notice the listing still appearing on Search Engine Result pages, please do the following:- Click the link to see if it directs you to a live site. If the site is visible, notify us for a fix.- If the personal information does not appear when you click the link, this means the search engine is showing a cached version of the page. You will need to follow up with the search engine provider to remove this cached information. This information typically disappears on its own.At this time we are unable to make edits or removals from the Whitepages Pro database. Whitepages Pro is a service specifically used for businesses doing identity verification. What this means is that this database is only used to detect potential fraud, and is not used for any sort of marketing list generation, personal use lookup, or other non fraud related cases. In other words, Whitepages Pro only verifies information, it does not reveal information.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because: here is the weblink.  They keep publishing my private data despite already requesting that they NEVER post my personal information again.  They do not have a system in place to stop the republishing of my data.  They put the onus back on consumers that information may be republished in the future.  I have opted out.  I have previously battled with them back in August 2015 and filed a Revdex.com complaint back then.  They continue to purchase data from brokers and just keep "updating" their database with data consumers have already requested to be opted out of publishing.  This is blatantly denying my rights and creating time and effort on my part to keep tabs on this shady companies practices.  They have no right to republish any data that has been previously requested to not publish.  It's a constant game of whack-a-mole trying to stay on top of multiple companies who keep publishing my information.  They need to provide a solid way of opting out---for good!!!  Not just for the lifecycle of their existing data, at that point in time.  This is blatantly harassment and my next step will be class action lawsuit.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:
Whitepages responded saying that I had not tried to create an account with either of my email addresses so that I could remove my information from Whitepages. I followed their instructions which they sent to [redacted]@yahoo.com. Their instructions did not work. I am a physician. If a physician cannot remove his information from Whitepages, then how can the average consumer do so? I wish to re-open this case and will pursue it to the farthest possible lengths including legal action. I should not have to create an account in order to remove my information. I want the Revdex.com to review the instructions that Whitepages provided to me and you will see that they do not work, and are onerous. See below: To remove your profile on Whitepages and associated sites: Go to Whitepages using your computer and click on "More" and then "Remove from Directory" located in the footer. If you already have an account, please log in and skip to step 4. To create an account, you need to provide a valid email address. We’ll send you an email with a link to verify your email address. Click the “Verify my email” link provided. Once you verify your email, you will then be taken to the "Opt-out of Whitepages" screen where you copy and paste the URL to the exact listing you wish to have removed. Each page has its own unique web address (URL). This is how your computer locates the web page that you are trying to access. To find the URL, go to the top of your browser and use the “People” search function for your name and click on your listing. Copy that line and paste it in the removal field. An example of a URL is: http://www.whitepages.com/name/John-Doe/Seattle-WA/6u3wkef. Once you paste the URL into the field, you will need to verify that the listing you wish to remove is the one being displayed by clicking on "Remove this info from Whitepages". You will need to verify with a phone number in order to remove the information. This can be theSincerely,[redacted]
