Company misled me about cost of services, began yelling at me when I called to complain
I called Weed Man in May to obtain weed treatment for a customer They told me the cost would be $51, never telling me that there would be two charges involved When I received my bill, there were two $charges When I called them on 6/28/to inquire about the charges, the manager immediately began yelling at me and telling me that I agreed to the charges and that I fully understood themHe is unwilling to work with me in resolving this issue nor was I permitted to finish almost any sentence that I began

This statement is in response to complaint ID ***, submitted on August 15, by *** *** with regards to a billing issue for lawn care servicesWe understand the client’s concern for not wanting to be auto-renewed and we are willing to work with him in adjusting the bill for services
appliedOur concerns in this matter are the reasoning’s for which Mr*** did not contact the Weed Man after receiving three service applications and having a product applied to the lawn in May and JuneAs well as receiving three letters in the mail, sent out in November, January and February, well before the starting of any services, highlighting the ProgramThe only correspondences recorded are our Call Ahead notices, contacting Mr*** prior to the applications on his lawn and that if there were any issues to please contact our officeAnd in addition the subsequent attempts to collect a debtWe had received no contact with Mr*** to dispute these services until after several AR calls and the applications were performed, in which Weed Man initiated the contactThe Weed Man is willing to adjust the billing amount for this request in favor of a fair and agreeable resolution

We were billed for a service (on our Credit Card) that we did not ask to receive I called the WEED MAN, and they stated they mail letters out and do not ask for a contract from their customers So, they will not reimburse me for this expenseTheir practice of expecting that customers want their service from year to year is highly unprofessional And, the reason we do not want their service is because they ruined part of our lawn last summer When I called upon them to come and take care of some weeds, they ended up spraying a larger area and I still don't have restored grass in those areas

To whom it may concern: I am writing in response to the complaint filed by Mr*** ***As one of the owners of Weed Man of Paducah, I am insulted that Mr*** would degrade and judge our employees as “dirty and disheveled”Our employees are in full uniform at all times and pass strict
pre-employment screening, so to say our internationally branded company is “dirty and disheveled” is an insultWe contacted Mr*** on March 14, and set his service schedule up the next dayAt that time, Mr*** was made aware of our schedule of treatments, frequency and methods of paymentHe was also given a 10.2% discount per service which amounts to $per visitWe promptly serviced his lawn days later on March 21, with a 65% slow release granular fertilizer at a rate of lbs per square feetSlow release means it releases over a span of 8-weeks so it distributes an even feeding to the lawnAt that time, we left an invoice at the residenceOn April 18, 2016, it was time for Mr***’s lawn to be sprayed for weedsEven though we had not received payment for our first service(due within days of completion) we went ahead and sprayed the lawn as these treatments are very important to apply on a strict scheduleMr*** now owes for services, ($each, $59)ANOTHER month goes by and it is time for the next service and Mr*** still has not paid the invoicesWe give him the benefit of the doubt as we entered into an agreement with him to service his lawnWe go ahead with the third application do that the lawn stays on scheduleThis application is another 65% slow release fertilizer applied at a rate of 3lbs per square feetAt this point, we have not received any payment from Mr***, nor have we heard any feedback from himOn May 23, 2016, we called Mr*** to remind him of the past due invoices and request paymentWe were informed that his son would be mailing us a check soonFair enough, no discussion on the condition of the lawn or any feedbackNo payment ever came and we called again on June to request paymentAt this time, Mr*** stated we killed his lawnIt had been over weeks since we had been there, and we had talked to him in between that time with no mention of thisIn my years’ experience, if a lawn is going to be over fertilized or have chemical damage, this always shows up with within weeks after a service. Our CSR explained to Mr*** that with the excessive amount of rainfall and the high temperature and humidity we had been receiving at the time, he likely had brown patch diseaseHis disregarded her response as nonsense and did NOT request anyone to come to his propertyThe conversation ended with no resolutionAt this point, the account was placed on hold so that no more services or visits would be rendered until payment was receivedAgain on July a call was made to collect payment resulting in a us leaving him a messageWith no response, we sent Mr*** a 10-day collection letter stating he would be turned over to collections if the invoices, now over days past due, were not paidMuch like the monthly statement he was receiving, this letter went with no response from Mr***We had no choice but to turn his account over to a collection agencyOctober 26, 2016, Mr***’s account was placed into a collection agency for $(invoices, the oldest over days old)November 4, Mr*** called our office to pay the invoices off of the letter from the collection agencyOur CSR handled the call and all was settledHe then called back and proceeded to yell at our CSR Manager stating again that our people were “junky” and “gross” and “dirty” and that we killed his lawnMr*** would not respond to any of our calls until the collection agency was involvedHe did not try to contact us to voice any concerns or issuesWe do not wish to do any further business with Mr*** Regards, *** *** General Manager/Co-Owner Office: ###-###-####

I switched to Weed Man last year as they offered better pricing than my previous service The lawn looked great all year and they were able to eliminate a problem I had with wild violets for several years Always courteous and professional

I signed up for and paid for Weed Man lawn fertilizer program in The service was more expensive than other provider but I thought I would give it a try
In I hired a new, more price competitive company to treat my lawnWeed Man is more expensive and less effectiveI had no intention of using Weed Man in and I never signed a contract or authorized them to treat my lawn in
In they showed up to my home and treated my lawn and then sent me an invoice for $They claim to have an auto renewal policyThey state my lack of response to their marketing material gave them the right to treat my lawn and send me an invoiceThe only problem, I never agreed to be bound to an auto renewal policy and was not aware of this policyTeresa A*** in the accounting department's defense of this practice is this is how they have always operatedI do have other auto renewal contracts in place with vendors, such as my heating oil, and I honor those contract

Weed man has done a great job on our years for the last years

*** ***
Good morning! I received the attached from the local franchise of the Revdex.com…As we’ve worked together for the past years, I wanted to reach out personally to see if you could shed some light on the situation as I am not completely understanding… Your account does not have
anything owing and is in good standing with Weed Man… The last service you had us perform was the Spring Fertilization on April, 2015… On May, you phoned and asked *** in our front office to put the account on hold and we have not been out since.
Obviously we are all human here and if someone made a mistake I will certainly remedy it moving forward with youHopefully working together all these years you know nobody here would intentionally do something against your or your lawn’s wishes.
Please feel free to write me back or phone me direct on my car phone at ###-###-#### as I’d be most happy to better understand and get on the same page moving forward
If I do not speak with you before-hand, I wish you and the family a Blessed Holiday Season!
Yours in Turf,

We have had a terrible experience with this company We used them in and decided to use someone else in They came out in anyway and started the service back up We never requested service and we called them to tell them to stop They never sent us an invoice or any other communication until they sent our account to a collection agency claiming that because their winter letter to us said that they will continue the service unless we call them, that it is somehow us agreeing to a perpetual service We never signed anything (and they admit that) which says we agree to a perpetual service unless we call them back So now we have to fight them with a collection agency over $ What a complete joke

We are
sorry *** *** was not happy with our service. We try to explain up
front and include the attached document to all new customers
"">
We are
dealing with a living organism that is affected as much by our services as it
is by Mother Nature and the customer's maintenance habits.
The couple
of appointments that *** *** asked for in person, he did not keep
The first
year of service is usually a building time period. We need to come in and
get the weeds under control while getting the grass fed regularly. In
some cases, it's not pretty. Areas where the weeds occupy need to be
replaced with grass. This does not happen overnight. Our customers
are told that a real improvement in their lawn could take 3-5-years.
*** *** only used our services for months-not even completing a full
program. The services ordered and completed in 2013 were
$729.25. As of today, we have received payments totaling $525.
Most
grasses will go dormant if not watered during the hottest months in June, July
and August. Their yard has mature
trees. When the trees are in full bloom
they will suck up food and moisture out of the soil during the summer months. In addition, we will see the grass thin out
in areas where the grass is not getting at least hours of sunlight
During a
summer visit, it was pointed out to the Mrsthat a section of the backyard was
green because it was receiving water during activities with their child
We also
observed that the lawn greened up in the fall after the temperature dropped and
we got rain.
At the
beginning of 2014, we had snow coverage during the first months of the
year. Once the temperature warmed up, he
would have seen the benefits of the aeration and over-seeding done in the
fall. Any areas that did not take; we
would have come back and resolved those issues as part of the program
During the
process of aeration and over-seeding, we move the leaves around to get the seed
into the ground but not clear the leaves.
If *** *** felt that after clearing the leaves in the fall that some
areas might have needed more attention, we would have returned and addressed it
then
As for
Grubs, we did advise.
It is
unfortunate that *** *** did not allow us to work through the process with
him. Nothing that we do is instant and
if there is a lack of trust to go along with the advice being provided, then it
does not make sense to continue the relationship
It is like
getting mad at you pediatrician and blaming their office that your child is
getting sick while no one else on the block is.
It is our
goal to help our customers attain and maintain a healthy green lawn through
service and education

Weed Man is requesting payment for services that I did not authorize I had used them for this service in the pastI specifically requested for the new year that they do not auto renew services with meI have never allowed auto-renew services

Promises promises promises they created weeds instead of keeping them awayThey said they would come back to fix the problems they created, but they never cameIt took them months to return an emailBUYERS BEWARE!!!

Great personal serviceIf you're looking for someone local that will follow through then they got ya coveredSteven will make it right

This company does not stop calling They also did work on my lawn while I was not home and without my authorization The person had the audacity to leave a $bill at my door I don't like this company and want them to stop nagging me

We are still working with *** regarding the Blue Spruce TreeOur senior technician from our Lancaster office will contact him later today. As for compensation, payment has been mailed out to the customerHe should receive sometime this week.I do believe the issues with this customer will be resolved as soon as possible

This customer ordered a lawn-care program from one of our technicians for the seasonAfter two applications were performed, we went out to the perform the third of seven applicationsAfter that application was done, this customer called and said he did not order an ongoing service, but only
two applications, and that he had told us that he would call for future servicesWe have no record of that, and the confirmation letter sent to him clearly stated that seven applications would be performed throughout the yearIn addition, he claimed that the third application was not performed, because he was not homeWe had clear record of our truck being at his property for the amount of time necessary to perform the service, but he still said he did not believe that it was doneDespite the above events, we are more interested in a productive settlement of this matter, and as always our customer's satisfaction is our number one goalWe have called the customer and informed him that we have written off the balance due for this application, and that his account is closed outObviously, if he should decide to use our service again we would be happy to do so, but until then we are pleased that the matter has been resolved.? To Whom it May Concern,| spoke with Mr[redacted] on 11/20/He indicated that he had cancelled services in JulyI asked what method he used to do soHe said he sent a text messageThis would have been a land line that he sent it to so I would not have received itHe also said he sent an emailI told him I would check my email and get back with himHe agreed to pay for one of the services that were showing due on his account.I checked my email and found no email from Mr[redacted]On the 21", received a forwarded email from the Weed Man Corporate office that was from Mr[redacted] on July 15"It would appear that Mr[redacted] only sent an email to corporate, which they did not forward to me until November 21"(I am not sure of the reason for this)That explains why his account was never cancelled in our system as we process these transactions promptly when done through the PROPER channels.
Due to the fact it is not completely Mr[redacted]'s fault since he email corporate and they did not forward it to me in a timely manner, I am agreeable to write off the remaining two services that were applied to his lawn after JulyMr[redacted]'s balance is now $Thank You,
[redacted]

I am in receipt of the above-referenced client information but I can not locate that client in our system at that address…  Can you please ask [redacted] to phone me direct at ###-###-#### and I’d be more-than-happy to figure it out with her… Thanks much!! [redacted] Weed Man Louisville
