Just looked back on my records, it was Cory, not Alex, my...
apologies. He texted me on November 25th (I still have all of the texts), a day after I first went in with a Groupon for 10 drop-in fitness classes that I never had the opportunity to use. I signed up for a 3 month contract the day after Thanksgiving as part of a Black Friday deal. I even spoke with former trainer Jeffery W[redacted] recently, who recalled that my contract was for 3 months, and 3 months only. Someone named Kevin responded to me on Yelp, stating that no employees contact clients through text but that is false, as both Cory and the manager Raul used text as the only form of contact I ever received from the gym.
Hello -- We followed our guidelines regarding freezing and cancelling her membership; the text messages she saved show that. After that point she refused to follow our policies and that lead to her membership not being cancelled in a timely enough manner for her. I do apologize that my...
staff did not communicate with her quickly enough AFTER our guidelines were already explained to her. Despite her claims there is no way she can drive business away from us; we have over 600+ happy members and unfortunately her experience was amazing but we do try to help everyone when we can. We think that refunding her three months membership dues was more than fair and honestly feel slighted that after we did that she continues to review us so poorly on public forums.
Review: I had to freeze my gym membership since 02/**/14 due to medical reason. Doctors note provided. As per their contract it states that after 6 months of being unable to use their services due to medical reasons the customer is entitled to a refund of unused services with in 15 days of cancelation. I canceled on 09/**/14 and I am still waiting for my refund for unused training sessions. I have contacted the gym multiple times with in the past month and everytime I am told someone will call me back and no one ever calls me back. Spoke to [redacted] and [redacted]. [redacted] told me a refund was being issued on 10/**/14 to my credit card. I called my credit card company and they said nothing has been issued. I called asking for [redacted] 3 times since then and they never put her on the phone. They tell me she will call me back and never does.Desired Settlement: At this time I am tired of waiting for a credit to my credit card and would like a cash refund in the amount of $124.50 which is what is owed to me for the 2 training sessions I did not use.

Review: I was leaving for work for 3 months, so walk over to the gym to cancel my membership. The front desk person told me that I didn't need to cancel my account. I had the option to freeze it. I was please it and happy. Only $15 per month. I also express to him that I might be gone longer than 3 months. He said not to worry and that I should just call again to activate my account. The months past and I was looking at my statement and saw UFC GYM charging $125 dollars. I called the GYM and explain in detail. They told me to please send them an email with my complain and they will get back to me. They never did, so I called them again and the manager David Simmons was very rude . He said that he was not on the clock until 2pm, and he cannot help. He also stated that they send me a email reminder on 8.4.2015 saying that they will charge me for the month. I looked for the email and told them to please forward me the email. and if I see that is there then I will understand and it will be my responsibility. David said that he did not have time to send it to me. If I missed the email - I will take full responsibility, but there's no email and no proof.Desired Settlement: They should send me the email that they claim to sent. starting that I was going to be charge for $125. they also claim that they don't freeze memberships over 3 months. A policy should be in place and they should had let me know in advance.

Review: I was advised by my doctor to discontinue activity until further notice. I promptly contacted UFC to suspend my month-to-month membership. My concern was obviously being billed for services that I could not take advantage of and considering the type of contract I signed, I felt the flexibility of being a month-to-month member would be beneficial in this situation. I was advised by the anonymous person responding to emails on September [redacted] to complete a form in order to proceed with a freeze. After further assessment of my situation, I decided to outright cancel my membership. I contacted UFC and was informed that my account would be frozen for 3 months and would resume on 12/**/13. I told I would need to cancel my membership in person. As such, my expectation was that completion of the form was no longer required and billing would not resume until after 12/**/2013.
To my surprise, I was billed on December [redacted]. I requested reimbursement of the funds taken from my bank account. I initially signed a contract with UFC for services, but also notified you (in writing via email) that my account was to be suspended, which UFC accepted. That instruction constitutes a revocation of your authority to draft funds from my account, at least, to which I received a response from service representative [redacted]. When I emailed UFC for a refund I was told I had two month to go in person and cancel; then I was told that the funds were debited by a third party which they had no control over.
I have the email which I can forward to you at any point ……Desired Settlement: Refund back to my debit card. My membership has been cancel with UFC

Review: This issue is multifaceted. It started with the gym changing my contract well without any notification. When I found out a few months later that they were charging me $239 for the same service they were charging every one else $150 for, I asked for my rate to be amended since what I originally signed up for was no longer offered. I was told I would need to pay an additional $300 to take advantage of the lower price for the same level of service I was receiving with no additional benefit. This was back in the summer of 2014 and I immediately asked to cancel my contract. Since that original time my office location moved and my primary contact with the gym was over the phone. I was told cancellation needed to be done in writing however my office location moved and I could no longer make it to the gym during business hours. I attempted to cancel three times in writing over six months, left over a dozen messages, and sent countless emails. No response was ever received. I finally took a day off of work in May 2015 to come into Manhattan to go to the gym and cancel my membership. At that time I was told my last month was paid off and nothing else would be charged. To my surprise my credit card was charged again so I disputed the amount with [redacted] since I thought it was an error. [redacted] stated that the amended contract that I never signed stated an additional month would be charged for cancellation. I didn't argue as I figured this year long ordeal would finally be over. To my chagrin it was not, I now receive multiple phone calls a week stating that I owe an additional $25 for disputing the charge. I have explained to the people calling (who are always very nice) why I feel I should not pay. This gym has cost me well over $2000 for services that were not rendered, and has provided no customer service in trying to resolve the dispute. I was told the people on the phone agreed with me but did not have the authority to stop calling me and that I would need to take another day off of work to go into the gym to get them to resolve the issue. I refuse to pay them another cent or lose any more money because they have a failure on the customer service side of their business. I would greatly appreciate if they would please stop harassing me over $25 that I should never have been charged. They already have enough of my money which they did not earn.Desired Settlement: Remove the $25 fee and have them stop all contact.

Review: On 4/**/2015, I purchased a knee brace from the UFC Gym store and I was told that if it didn't work, I would get a refund. I paid some cash and some on my debit card. On the same day I returned later to return the item because the product didn't work and it wasn't what I thought it would be. The workers were having trouble issuing a refund because the transaction was a partial cash payment and a partial card payment and the system wasn't allowing it. They advised me that the managers who are authorized from California were coming in the following day and it would be taking care of. The refund was not taken care of and one of the workers advised that their system is weird and doesn't allow for certain transactions and maybe they could provide a free month of membership instead. I told them I would let them know, however I would rather received the refund and they said they would check on it. On 4/**, I was told to send them a copy of the receipt via text and a day or two later they told me that it was a fake receipt. I contacted the corporate office several times leaving messages with no reply. Initially I was receiving correspondence via text from one of the workers at the [redacted] location (can't remember his name right now; I have his phone number but would rather not put his personal number) but then I didn't hear anything. On 5/** I inquired via text about just accepting the free month (meanwhile I didn't here anything from them and the amount of my membership fees are less than what I paid for the product; but being the nice guy I am, I was not trying to give them a hard time because they do have good gym services; it's just their customer service isn't good because similar issues like this have occurred before), however they said it wasn't in their hands and this is a corporate issue. I reminded them that they (meaning the [redacted] location) advised me that's what they would do for me and that corporate wasn't getting back to him). Then they said investigating the receipt again. They also advised that I called too late since my membership is due on 5/**, so I asked that they look into the refund please. They said your membership fee has to go through first. I advised them if this isn't taken care of by Monday 5/**, then I am canceling my membership. His response was I don't have to get upset because I am working with you and that once the payment for the monthly membership goes through he will credit the membership fee and I can keep the brace. It is now 5/** and I have not heard from the guy or the corporate office. I have not received the membership credit that he was talking about. At this point, I don't want a membership credit which would be $89, all I want is my refund of $96.68 . The product is still in a box waiting to be returned.Desired Settlement: I would like to take the product back for a full refund of $96.68
Review: Joined GYM on 6/**/2013Called to cancelled on 6/**/2013 after I realized I would not be around to for the next few monthsthey told me I have to come in person left an written authorization for the next day when daughter will go in for her regular workout since I was leaving town. They told her I need to go in with my driver's licence.Upon my return to NY 6/**/2013, I went into the GYM and I was told to fill up a form and sign but I had only 3 days cancel for full refund. No one asked for a driver's licence of any proof of who I was. However, they refused to refund my membership and two months payment. All I am looking for is a full refund.thanks.Desired Settlement: full refund. My kids are still members at the gym.

Review: In 2014, I signed for one on one Personal Training session related primary to Grappling/Jiu JItsu. During the course of this sign-up I was asked to and did sign a contract relating the purchase of these sessions which I was told could be used at any time. I specifically stated that I was looking for Personal Training only, as I was a member of another MMA gym and was simply looking for one-on-one training near my work, which was verbally acknowledged by the salesperson.
Shortly after signing for these sessions, I sustained a significant injury which prevented me from using these sessions. When contacted by a trainer there, I told him that I was injured and I would contact him when I was cleared to train, and was told this was not a problem since the sessions did not expire.
Due to both my injury and various work issues, I was unable to use these sessions within a one year period. Following that, I was contacted by UFC gym stating that I was now “delinquent” in my membership dues.
• I stated that this could not be true as I never had a membership; I had signed up for personal training.
• They explained to me that all personal training came with a membership that had automatically renewed. I
• I stated I did not want to “renew” a membership as I did not sign up for one in the first place, I simply wanted to use my training sessions, and they stated I could not use these sessions without re-signing up for a membership as per there policy.
• I have had multiple conversations with their management since that date with no resolution. They are not able to automatically renew me via credit card since the card I had used to sign up had fraud activity last year (completely unrelated to this issue) and was therefore canceled.
At this point, I was contact by a collection agency who is now trying to collect a debt for a membership renewal which I never originally attempted to purchase nor authorized.
I have been actively training for nearly 30 years, and in fact worked as personal trainer and managed a health club while in college, and now work as an Insurance Executive. To me, this is an example of predatory contract activity on the part of the UFC Gym.Desired Settlement: At this time, I no longer wish to have any business with the UFC gym in this location. If I need to forfeit my original purchase of personal training because it exceeded some time limit that I was unaware of – I will take that as my fault and live with that.
But I refuse to pay any additional funds for services not rendered, particularly given the acrimonious way this had been handled, and I would like the organization and its counterparts to stop contacting me, else I will need to refer to the NY State Dept of Finance & Insurance or seek a legal remedy.

Review: I signed up for a membership at UFC Gym Long Island back in February 2013, before it opened. I paid my first and last month's dues, an activation fee, and fees for 4 personal training sessions up front, totaling approximately $500. However, the customer service I have received since then has been terrible. The staff at Long Island are among the most unprofessional people I have ever met.
When I signed up in February 2013, I was assured by the manager [redacted] that the gym would be opening in April 2013. After numerous delays, it finally opened in June 2013. [redacted] told me the gym would open in April when he knew full well that construction hadn't even started and that it would be impossible for the gym to open that soon. This in itself was deceptive marketing and poor business practice. However, I decided to look past that and move forward with my training.
When I visited the gym for the first time on opening day, I was assigned to a personal trainer named [redacted] for my sessions. After the first session, he stood me up on the second session, and then never responded to my attempts to contact him. After waiting for some time for a response, I went to the gym on July * and spoke to [redacted] and [redacted] about rescheduling with another trainer, as well as ensuring that my membership would not extend past August, because I will be moving in August 2013. They told me not to cancel that day and that as long as I cancelled any time before July **, I would not receive any more charges, having already paid for 2 months up front. They also told me that I would be able to schedule personal training sessions after cancelling my membership, to take place during the last few days of my membership in August.
I went to the gym on July **, 2013 to cancel my membership, I spent nearly an hour waiting to be helped. It seemed as though nobody wanted to help me, as I was passed around from staff member to staff member, who would walk off and leave me waiting in the middle of the gym. I was not even offered the courtesy of sitting down in a private office. It was the type of attitude and service I had come to expect, unfortunately. When I finally got a chance to talk to a manager, she informed me that I needed to give 30 days' notice before cancelling in order not to be billed on July **. Admittedly, she was able to show me the contract I signed stating this. I do acknowledge that it was my fault for not reading the cancellation policy carefully; however, I didn't expect to be lied to by the management when I asked verbally about the cancellation policy. Of course, when I confronted [redacted] about it today, he lied again and denied ever having told me that.
In any case, I now have no choice but to pay for a month of gym access I won't be able to use. 30 days notice for cancellation is an absurd stipulation, but I did sign the contract and I am at fault in that matter. It would be nice if the gym would offer me a refund for that charge as a courtesy. I only hope that the new personal trainer I was assigned to will actually do his job and show me a modicum of respect as a paying customer.Desired Settlement: I do not expect to receive a refund for the month of membership fees that I will be unable to utilize, but it would be nice if the gym would do so as a courtesy. I believe the staff mentioned above, namely, [redacted] and [redacted] should receive some kind of reprimand for their disdainful attitudes, lack of courtesy toward customers, and low moral standards.
Review: UFC Gym owes me more than $500 for a refund. First LA Boxing (now owned by UFC Gym) shut down its Rockville gym on April 30, 2013, claiming it planned to reopen it in a new spot in the same city. The company said that members could use the other LA Boxing gym in Bethesda, but on Juen 24, 2013 they notified me that they had cancelled all the memberships at my local gym in Rockville. LA Boxing agreed in writing to my refund amount $523.84 (because I had paid-in-full for a year in January 2013). They said they would send the check within a certain number of weeks but they never sent it. While I waited for months, UFC Gym purchased LA Boxing. After calling UFC corporate and writing to National Sales Director [redacted] I was sent a refund check around Dec 19 2013. I deposited the check in the second week of January - my first to chance to visit the bank. But it bounced - and I was charged an additional fee for it bouncing, by my own bank. It turns out the account for "Rockville refunds" had been closed. I have tried to contact Mr. [redacted] directly on the phone, but I was not able to reach him via the corporate directory. The check had no mention of an expiry date. I have evidence in writing and hard copy, including my original gym membership contract, to back up everything.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded $523.84 plus $12.50 (the fee I was charged by my bank). The total refund should be $536.24.
Review: I signed My Daughter at this Gym for almost a year now in a month to month basis , for school work she was not been able to attend for the past 6 months I have been trying to cancel the membership and tried to call the GYM many times and they said I must speak to the manager , I left him so many messages and requested from him to send me the cancelation form he kept delaying the emailing of the form and never returned my calls , and they have building my account and charging their monthly fees , I finally got the form to him and requested balance to pay , he emailed me to call him , and he claimed that he did try calling me , and yet charged me again for the monthly fee . I'm disappointed at their customer service and not returning calls or emails on time and keep charging me every month although they are notified that I need to cancel the membership , I paid for over a year of service although my daughter attended the gym for less than a month .Desired Settlement: I need my Account canceled and and balance removed
Review: Request for refund:8/24/2015:Signed up with [redacted]. & assistant Manager [redacted] ______Was told I would receive 3 free personal training sessions, & 1 personal body assessment with sign Paid $207.00 for a 30 day trial, per [redacted], on the conditions that I could return the membership within 30 days and receive a full refund if the membership didnt work or I was not satisfied with the service. [redacted] is the assistant manager, and offered this package instead of the traditional 10 day free trial. I was about to walk out due the time period not working out, however he persisted to offer the 30 day no risk trial period with a full refund. I asked and clarified with him several times on the terms for a full refund as long as the membership is returned before the 30 day trial. Total amount paid: $79.00+ 128.00 in fees $207.00 (BECU Credit Card)* I have the credit card charged line item, and UFC gym membership information:UFC gym membership # [redacted], UFC #[redacted] x1 Ultimate Elite All Gym Access, Agreement #end in [redacted]. Aug 12th 2015I came in on the weekend to cancel my membership and request a refund. I brought my same credit card in which I made a purchase with. [redacted] (the assistant store manager) stated he needs a manager to process the return and come back on Monday (9/14/2015), when he is working from 9am to 7pm. This was a little misleading as during our initial interaction, he introduced himself as the manager. A manager who cant process a return is clearly being evasive or indifferent about the customer.9/14/2015 Monday Walked in after work to Cancel Membership.Filled out a cancellation form/survey & Was told by [redacted] (cell# 619-[redacted]),that "it will take 4-7 business days for a refund to reflect on the original credit card" 9/22/2015 Walked in Mission Valley Store to meet with [redacted] and took a screen shot from my cellphone)I am requesting a full refund.Desired Settlement: As of 6:30pm (9/22/2015) my BECU credit card has not been refunded. 9/23/2015 would be the 30th day end of my 30 day trial membership. As a courtesy I walked into the MV UFC gym to cancel my membership on 9/14/2015- 10 days earlier than the 30th trial period day. I have proof of cancellation.[redacted] the General Manager, he stated UFC does not sell 30 day trial periods with refunds, and that I would need to follow up with [redacted]" I am requesting a full refund of $207.00 to returned to my cc.
Review: Signed up for a gym membership on March 23, 2014. At the time we were told that we would be charged for the first and last month dues and that we can start using the gym as soon as it opens on May 1, 2014. On April 30, 2014 we received an email stating that due to licensing with the city of San Diego the gym may not open until the end of May. On May 19, 2014 gym was still not open to the public so we attempted to contact gym to request a refund. After speaking with [redacted], one of the owners, we were told that since we signed a contract he could not refund the money. After [redacted] attempted to high pressure sell us with the fact that "UFC is the fastest growing sports organization in the world" he then said he was "too busy" to speak with us and hung up. [redacted] can be reached at ([redacted]Desired Settlement: Refund for $138 for the cost of the first and last month for a gym that has not opened.
Review: I have requested cancellation of my membership multiple times yet the gym continued to charge my credit card. I have left voicemails, sent an e-mail and receive not response. When my credit card expired, a servicing company began calling. I have never given this servicing company permission to call my cell phone, yet they do. I have explained the situation to the servicing company yet they continue to call saying I am behind on my gym membership. I don't have a gym membership, I cancelled it. They can check their records, I have not been there for years.Desired Settlement: I want my membership canceled and the servicing company to stop calling and texting.

Review: My membership ended 10/14 I was told by the staff member who no longer works there to just walk into the gym after enrollment date to cancel membership. When I went in the new staff member told me I should have came the day before to cancel. I asked to speak to a manager because I wasnt going to pay another month when I hadnt been to thw gym in 6 months. The so called manager said it is okay he will waive the fee and that was that a week later they did bill me the final month I disputed with my bank I lost the dispute and said fine I will just pay them that final month they want. I also was charhed5the dispute charges. Now 4 months later I am being billed for the following month which is November 2014. Just now I received an email from member servives that I owe 114 which is 35 more dollars then the gym fee! I am being forced to pay this fee because everytime I call the gym they are very unprofessional and everyone says they are the manager!Desired Settlement: Member services said if I didnt pay it will be in collections in 2wks so I am being forced to pay. I woukd like the ufc gym to reimburse me the 114 plus the 79 and the dispute fees of 70$ Which equals to 263 dollars total That they have made me pay after the membership ended.
Review: I have been working out at L.A. Boxing in Carlsbad for almost a year now. My experience was all positive regarding the trainers and the exercise sessions. Ultimately, I fell in love with the activity upon discovering L.A. Boxing, as I felt as though I had found a method of exercise that I actually enjoy.
Unfortunately though, all of the positives that L.A. Boxing has offered me have been overshadowed by one individual’s behavior and merciless attitude. After 10 or 11 months of a pleasurable relationship with the organization, I developed severe tendonitis causing me to involuntarily withdraw from attending the sessions I so much enjoyed. I will explain my experience from the time my wrist started to bother me.
Three months ago, I called to cancel my membership because I was experiencing sever pain in my wrist. I went and saw my doctor and was told I had severe tendonitis. I asked her if it was ok to continue with my normal kickboxing routine, but she advised against it. I called La Boxing and spoke to [redacted], the owner, who said that since I was in a contract, all I could do was put a hold on my membership until I was ready to come back. The hold took place as promised. I tried going back, but realized my wrist just couldn’t handle it. I attempted to attend using only one hand, shadow box, or do other exercises in place of boxing. However, any L.A. Boxing member can tell you that the thing they value most about the facility is the various boxing classes, which include push ups, burpees, the plank, crab walking, and other wrist strenuous activities along with boxing. Due to the severity of my tendonitis, I realized that it was not a realistic program for me to be a part of. I went back to my doctor and she provided me with a letter to give to the owner.
On (8/14/2013) I went in to drop off my letter and cancel my membership. I tried to explain my situation to [redacted] in hopes that he would understand and grant me an early contract termination due to my unforeseen and unfortunate circumstance. But the second I said the word cancel, I was verbally attacked and harassed, as he gradually raised his voice and got closer into my personal space as if he were trying to intimidate me. Sadly, the reaction from [redacted] was not only unreasonable, but overbearingly rude and unprofessional. Without exaggeration, from [redacted] ‘s behavior and tone of voice I became less concerned with the contract and more so with my safety. It is simply shocking that a man with such anger actually runs a business. Upon leaving the gym I went on yelp.com to see if others had similar experiences. Sure enough, [redacted]’s lack of customer service skill, insensitivity and rage has been witnessed by many other past members as well. Most reviews described extremely similar situations to my own.Desired Settlement: The desired outcome is a formal written apology, mailed or emailed.
I have exactly two more payments left. I feel that an organization that cares for the well being of it’s past, current, and future members would sympathize with my situation and grant me my early termination, as it is solely due to a medical setback. However, this particular attempt to reach out through the Revdex.com is aimed at evoking an apologetic response from the owner, [redacted]. I am prepared to pay the fees for the remainder of the contract, but I am not willing to except verbal abuse and intimidation from a business owner without any recourse, or at least a formal apology. I will be pursuing this matter further until an apology is received, or some other consequence is carried out.
Review: I was sold a membership to UFC Orange on a fraudulent base. I was told that I would specifically be able to work out at the UFC Torrance location. When I arrived at UFC Torrance I was told that they would not honor this agreement. Torrance stated that they were not affiliated with Orange. I was promised by Torrance that they would cancel the Orange membership. After one month passed without cancelation, I contacted UFC Orange. I was told the only person who could help with my membership was the manager [redacted]. I have called the gym over 75 times and sent at least 30 emails to [redacted]. I am told by associates of the gym that he responds best to email yet he has not responded to any. Torrance is unable to help me either. I am still being charged for a fraudulent membership and now being threatened to go be taken to collections. I have tried desperately to contact this gym manager and have not been able to speak with him. I have called so many times that the gym will not pick up the phone when they see my number on the caller iD. I was told by one employee one of the many times I had called that they did not need to write down my name or number because they knew who it was. This is an extremely frustrating matter.Desired Settlement: I want to speak to the manager, have the membership from 12/11/14 cancelled as it was promised on 12/15/14, and not be charged any fees.
Review: I signed up for a 1 yr membership to this gym that expired March 26th, 2015. I contacted the gym via my ufc internal account email early February to cancel my membership. I received no response for several weeks, I followed up by phone in March(provided my contact information) to inquire as to why I hadn't been contacted to confirm cancellation at the end of my 1 yr agreement. The gentlemen that I spoke to indicated that they had not received my email and that I would need to come in to the gym to cancel services. I obliged and came into the gym to cancel. When I arrived at the gym at 10:30am there was no manager on site, only two gentlemen there who communicated they are just there to watch the gym while the manager is away. They indicated that the manager may come back around noon. One of the gentlemen took down all of my information and assured me that I would get a call by noon. He also indicated that I should have been able to cancel my membership over the phone.
I never received a call so I called the gym back around 6p and was told that since I had been getting the run around they will cancel my membership over the phone but that I will still be charged for another month because it was not 30 days prior to March 26, even though I had contacted them twice, prior to the 30 days prior.Desired Settlement: I would like the additional month billed beyond my 1yr agreement removed.
