I'd vote ZERO STARS if that were an option! They take your money right away though. Not sure what the issue is with this warranty, but something is! I submitted a claim on 03/12/18 and we're still freezing to death! All I get is the run around and a different story everytime I call, which is daily. I'm just sick of it, I did my part and this is a BREACH OF CONTRACT. Maybe a lawyer would be able to settle this.
So far I am having a negative experience. How many times do I have to call to receive my email for a work order.

A claim was placed on 03/12/2018 at 09:29:41 and a technician was assigned to the claim at 03/12/2018 at 17:44:24 and a 2nd email was sent with the company's information at 03/12/2018 at 17:58:27. The email may have gone into the junk/spam folder which we have no control over. We were advised that the technician was out on 03/13/2018 and we contacted the technician the same day. Although he did not have a diagnosis at that time, he contacted us the next day with his diagnosis.
As per the policy
B. Upon request for service under normal circumstances, we will contact an authorized Service Contractor within two (2) days during normal business hours and four (4) days on weekends and holidays after you request service. The authorized Service Contractor will contact you to schedule a mutually convenient appointment during normal business hours.
We sincerely apologize for your negative experience, but this claim was handled in accordance with the policy.
If you are a vendor, you might want to reconsider doing business with this company. They rushed me to get a quote to one of their customers and get the work done but they do not respond once you have done the work and sent them your invoice. I sent them a total of 4 invoices and after the 3rd invoice they claimed they were not able to open it. Initially they told me it was in a format that she couldn't open, then Silvia said that it was a blank invoice and now the supervisor Kim says that there was no attachment at all. During the last few weeks I have called practically everyday and have been on hold for 15 minutes at a time and no-one would return any calls. I was finally put through to the supervisor today (Kim) but only because I told Silvia that I was going to call David Johnson. When Kim got on the phone I told her that I am a small business owner. I also told her that if they did not process my invoice that I would be forced to put a lien on the customer's property. To that she replied that if I threatened her she would withhold payment altogether. I wasn't threatening her, I was stating that it is my last resort. I also told her that I replied that I would contact David Johnson and she told me to go ahead, that I would not get to him because that's why he hired her.
Why weren't they returning any of my calls or emails? I I sent them an Invoice on 1/3 (that was the 1st invoice) and then I follow up with a call, why don't they call me back and tell me that they can't access it?
This has been a very unsatisfactory experience and I hope I never have to repeat it.
This is a stealing company just lie to you at the time you purchase the one year warranty from them then they don’t cover anything at all and when you call for repair they don’t send professional people instead they send a handyman who looks around your house and make you scared so I recommend stay away from this fraud company I called their manager to complain he himself was a disrespectful person I told him I gave you a bad review he said I don’t care because I have so many customers and once you buy the plan and you want to cancel it the manager said I gave you 15 dollar back out of 400 please please stay away
Please read this before you spend you money on a home warranty with these people. My realtor bought my wife and I a home warranty from Total Home Protection as a gift for doing business with her. I tried to use the warranty twice, once for a hot tub repair that they made up an excuse to not cover even though extra was paid for hot tub coverage. They sent a horrible repair person to my house and I ended up fixing the issue while the guy watched and then expected me to pay him the deductible.
The second time was for A/C and I ended up having to call a legitimate A/C repair person as the one provided by Total Home Warranty contractor was a joke.
Now my policy has expired and I have received 5-7 phone calls from the telemarketing service per week! I keep trying to call and cancel and their sales team has called me by the wrong name, hung up on me, and put my on hold without ever picking up. This was despite the recording constantly reminding me "I'm number one in line". STAY AWAY! I'd rate less than one star if I could.
I have to say that I am very disappointed in this company.. My heater went out on a Saturday and I called them to report a claim. Of course they we're not open until Monday. So I called Monday and no one came out until Thursday evening. They sent out a Technician named Nick from a company called *** LLC. When he came I didn't have a good feeling because he reaked of marijuana and colonge. He told us that the motor went out and that he had to request authorization from the warranty company to complete the work so they could get paid. So he told us that he would come back the next day to complete the work after he gets the okay. So the next day I called the warranty company several times and they kept saying the technician told them he could diagnose or assess my furnace to see what was wrong with it. But that was a lie because he told us what was wrong... So basically the warranty company did not authorize the job to be done... This is crazy because I pay them money monthly to fix major things that go wrong but they didn't hold up their end of the bargain. So I would like my money back. This company is a rip off and just wants your money and not cover home issues.

We were advised by the assigned technician that the unit was disassembled when he arrived at the home and was unable to diagnose the issue. As per the policy
R. This Agreement does not cover any mechanical failure when the covered item or system has been repaired, modified, disabled or adjusted in any way which prevents us or our independent Service Contractor(s) from inspecting, diagnosing and/or repairing the mechanical failure. This Agreement does not cover any mechanical failure to any covered item or system that has been improperly altered, repaired, installed, modified or damaged in the course of remodeling or unauthorized repair.
All claims have been properly serviced in accordance with the Service Agreement - all contracts have inclusions as well as exclusions. We are committed to providing a positive customer experience and doing the right thing for all our customers, contractors, employees, and our company.
We are a contractor in California, Total Home protection contacted us back in Oct 2017 for one of their customers here in California. We received approval from Total home for the job., did the work and sent off the invoice all of this took place in Oct 2017. We have spoken to people at Total Home Protection several times always given the run around. Jan 5 2018 we were told we would have check in 7 days. We did receive a check 10 days later but it was not for the full amount. Once again I called was told a check will go out in 2 weeks. Putting this in the beginning of February. Mine you this took place back in Oct 2017. To this day still no check for final payment.
Our experience with THP was terrible! I paid the service fee to have someone fix my dishwasher. He told me he was Going to order the part, days later he said THP said they would just replace me dishwasher it wasn’t worth it. They the best proceeded to tell me they were going to give me 200 dollars for my 800 dollar dishwasher! The contractor called to tell me to consider him when I needed my new dishwasher installed, he would only charge me 30 dollars if I gave him my old dishwasher. The whole thing was a mess! Meanwhile I’ve looked up the part for me dishwasher and it’s only 30 dollars. I just wanted my dishwasher fixed! I went around and around with THP every person I spoke to told me something else. Terrible customer service. The whole thing feels like a huge scam!
I called total home protection 1/9/2018 .I spoke to “ Henry “ asking about a warranty and what it covered, he went over a few plans with us. We finally said NO he kept pushing & pushing $ pushing , he didn’t want to take no for an answer. He finally said you just wasted 25 min, of my time that I can never get back, isn’t that what a sales person is suppose to do ? I hung up on him he called me back & told me to never call his company again “ which isn’t his company ! & went on about wasting his time. Well he wasted my time also, he called me not me him, Henery was VERY unprofessional, if he were my employee he’d be gone . Customer service isn’t like it use to be. So I called to speak to David J the complaint handler & THP just kept me on the phone , it was like henery alerted everyone to not patch me thru to Adminstration, but that’s ok ! Their is more than one way too skin a cat.
Don’t deal with Henry he’s a total rude & unprofessional person !!!
Worst experience ever. Inept handling of our claim. Horrible customer service. Despite our following all the proper steps and requests, they’re basing their rejection on a photograph, and not the testimony of an industry professional.
Spend your money elsewhere and avoid a headache and freezing in the winter!
This is a fraudulent company that does stand behind their policy! DONOT sign up with them!! Filed a claim and they stated it was "preexisiting".....ah, no, our washer broke down with no warning (exactly why you have a Home Warranty), and they claim it was preexisitng so it isn't covered. They should have an inspection of items in the home for them to stand behind that statement then-to protect themselves. How can they possibly say that?? And at what time in the policy do they not use that as their blanket statement....in other words, they have an "out" for any possible claim they get. It's no wonder they couldn't find a tech to come out that was willing to work with them! Total scam!

This customers policy became effective on 12/14/17 and she contacted us on 12/18/17 advising that her washer started smoking while clothes were washing. She stated the last time the unit was working properly was 12/16/18. The technician diagnosed the rear tub and basket were worn out. It was determined that it was multiple component failures that could not happen within the two to four days of the policy being in effect. This is not an immediate failure and it takes time for the rear tub and basket to wear down to the point of the unit starting to smoke.

This company is a scam. I got one year coverage in April 2017 and on December 28th called to file a claim for sump pump issue. A technician was sent out and I paid the service fee. A week later I called to inform them that the repairs have not been done. I was informed that I wold hear from them the next day. I did receive the call but was told the sump pump was not covered. I informed them wanted to cancel my policy and would like a refund since the policy was paid in full. Emanuel told me there will be no refund but I will be charged a cancellation fee. I asked why was a technician sent out if the sump pump was not covered........no answer. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE SCAMMERS..
I bought my first home in September. I found an amazing deal, and decided to go with Total Home Protection, worst decision I could have made. First, they told me it did not matter if I do my warranty with escrow. It does! We moved in and our AC broke, costing $800. The warranty would have began right away if done through escrow, however, it didnt start til a month later. Then at the end of October our dishwasher was not draining. The first technician they gave us would not answer my calls or emails, a few hours later they sent me some one new. Then, the home warranty company would not cover it because it was a "pre-existing issue" (some cap was not removed), I got charged $200. Now our heater is broken. I called in Friday evening and they tried to tell me I could not file the claim because it probably was not working when I moved in. Long story short they decided to take the claim and gave me the info for a technician. Well, I called him and he said he no longer works with them. So I try calling back and sit on hold for 40 minutes, I decide to hang up and try calling in again, but cant get through because they closed at 7pm. I try another extension. I am then told they cannot help me and I will have to wait to Tuesday to get it fixed.
This company is a scam, and horrible to work with. WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT GET A HOME WARRANTY THROUGH TOTAL HOME PROTECTION!!!! They do not even deserve one star.
I am very frustrated with this company and wish I had never heard of it
I tried to purchase a contract from Total Home Protection. I contacted them in March to tall them I was in the process of purchasing a home. They asked me to pay $1,750 at that time which would cover 6 years and the first month would be free. It would not start until I purchased the house. Because of some complications the sale did not go through until December 1st. I received the contract dated March 31, 2017 and cannot get satisfaction to change it to December 1st. Something is very fishy. I am trying to solve it on my own but I sure could use some help.

My furnace broke down. I have a total protection plan with this company. I call and call every day 5-7 time each time I need to stay on the phone until someone answered. I ask for the Supervisor 6 times was promise me he or she will call me back in the next hour, never have Supervisor available and never in the Office. I was waiting four days for the authorization for the provider to order the parts and complete the job. My family now 4 days without heating in December in Minnesota. Never keep promising never follow up or call back. Please never do any business with this organization, it is the Scam!! You will regret when you by any warranty from them
After submitting a claim the rep informed me that they do not cover normal wear and tear of household problems. Mine was a plumbing break inside the house, and not covered.
I have had the worst experience with filing getting them to honor their advertisement. The have the most unprofessional escalation department I've ever experienced. Stacey Pierre was very unprofessional with handling my claim. I had to pay out of pocket to get my heating, in my home fixed due to the companies dispute with the original vendor they'd appointed to assist me. Come to find out, there was a dispute stating payments hadn't been rendered to vendor for previous service provisions for other clients. They drug they're feet so long, I had to call and speak to Gill. He informed me that they were looking into the matter of appointing another contractor, due to the original contractor not honoring the services. He also told me that if I couldn't wait for them, because of the previous incident, I could find one on my own and they would reimburse me for what I would have to pay to get the heating going again. I did just that. Now they are giving me hassle about sending pictures, serial numbers, etc. for the services that were rendered to get my unit back on track.
Stacey Pierre, escalations supervisor, was very rude, talking over me, not listening to my explanation, not honoring her work as to why she didn't get back with me in a couple of hours as she promises. A whole 24 hours went by before I had to call back to customer svc, they give me the run around, and end up speaking back to her ironically. When she found out it was me, she tried to say that the way we left the conversation, from the previous day, instead of a couple of hours later as promised, she tried to move off the subject of her failure to communicate back to me in time restraints that she originally gave. I proceeded to ask to speak with her boss because she wasn't helpful at all in getting me to understand her logic behind what was promised and what hasn't happened.
She told me that there was no one else to speak with and she was as high as it goes. I told thanks for nothing and I would be getting in touch with someone higher than her. I wish the star system went in the negative!!!!
Placed a claim on my heater last week, my unit was not turning.
I would like to say thank you for such a fast response. Spoke to a Mr Joe from customer service and he was very helpful and assisted with my problem like if it was his own.
The tech was at my home within 24hrs after I placed my claim. The only thing I had to pay was my $60 copay .
I truly recommend Total Home Protection to everyone great customer service, great techs and fast response.
I purchased my warranty with Total Home Protection in June of 2017. I made two claims in October. The first one was a air conditioning problem with the fan motor and a capacitor, both of which are covered under their guide lines. However, I was first denied and it took two weeks to get it resolved in temperatures near 100 degrees in AZ. The second claim was a minor roof repair which was also denied and I had their supposed roof coverage. I never had claims denied like this before in over 20 years. Additionally, I had to call them for the status at every level. I would not recommend this company and I am frankly disgusted with their performance and customer service
I had a great experience with total home protection after the hurricane my home in Miami had issues and even though they don't cover storm damage they assisted me and covered my claim great job guys I will recommend your company to everyone I know thanks again for all your help a special thanks to Henry my salesman for all his support in my claim
