Our terms and conditions clearly state that we are unable to release funds for water damaged books All customers are able to request that they have their damaged books sent back to them within hours As a One Time customer courtesy I have initiated a return and your items should be sent back to you within the next hours Thank you, Customer Service

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me The company literally sent me a message on the same day that they were contacted by the Revdex.comI think that if I had not made a complaint, I wouldn't have heard from the company so soon if at allIn the end, I was able to receive the full compensation for one of my books on 07/27/The other book that they "had a problem with" was changed to a $price quote and I was able to pay the $fee to have it returned to me and I already had the tracking number for it and it is on its way back to meThe only thing I can say about that one is I still believe the price quoted was unfairI know exactly what was wrong with the bookIt is originally a $nursing book and it has ONE of the pages torn, not completely torn out, just torn about half way, and I taped it backSo for a $book with a page that is torn but still intact with the book, I do not believe that it should render the book as trashThat is crazy and basically highway robberyThey would have kept the book for free and would have resold it in poor condition and would have made money off of itBut still, I am glad this has been resolved and I can now get my book back and sell it elsewhereThank you for making it possible for me to get a resolution to my problem Sincerely, [redacted]

Good Morning,As before mentioned, your buyer information is kept directly with the items we received from you The item has been returned to you and there is no further action we can take, as we are no longer in possession of the item we received from you

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to meThank you for your help in resolving this issueWithout it, I feel as if they would not have relinquished my books or my paymentI had received an e-mail back from them earlier today saying that the next time they had any scheduled deliveries from the publishing houses was for "next week sometime." I find it interesting that after a complaint was issued, they miraculously received all of my books from no less than three different publishersAnyways, that was just an observationThank you so much for your help; I can actually afford to buy my cap and gown now! Sincerely, [redacted]

Apologies for the frustration and confusion We do our best to notify the people we buy books from when items have been confirmed as counterfeit Unfortunately, in many cases we do not know the status until the publisher confirms the copies In those cases, books are never returned to us and it is up to the publisher to decide if they will seek legal action You are more than welcome to contact the publisher directly, once items are sent to the publisher and confirmed to be counterfeit, there is no longer an option for us to take further action We are not issued receipts for each transaction, as these items are not authorized to be sold and have been illegally reproduced Thank you

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I have photos of the textbook I sent youClearly, the textbook you sent me back was NOT the textbook in MINT condition that I sentThe textbook you sent me was in an appalling conditionI would be more than glad to send the photos of the book I originally sent you, and now of the destroyed book you sent me that obviously wasn't my original copy.Furthermore, there are inconsistencies in your scam: you claimed that the book had water damage yet there was no visible water damage, there was only excessive highlighting and writing on the pagesMy book had no highlighting at all! It was newTo further support my case, on the back of my book there are now bristles and glue (that were not there before), which supports my claim that my book was reboundAlso, the inside of the hardcover and the pages do not matchThe inside cover is clearly new but the pages in the book are multiple years oldThis is yet further supporting evidence for my claimAs a final example, the book that I sent you had the pages properly attached to the spine of the bookWhen books are rebound it happens that the pages no longer properly attach to the spine, which is what I discovered in the book that you sent meThis is my final offer before I pursue further action with law enforcement: If you could please send me a check for $36, that I was supposed receive for this NEW bookThank you very much for your understanding and time, and I hope that you do not inconvenience me or other customers in the future Sincerely, [redacted] ***

John,I am very sorry that your refund was not issued in a timely manner, and the inconvenience of having to contact us multiple times to no good effectThere were irregularities in our system and how your rental was processed, and we take full responsibility for both the error and the delayI just initiated full refunds of both your rental extension fees as well as the non-returned rental chargeTypically, refunded charges are processed within 1-business days, so please let us know if you do not see the funds back on your credit card by October 9th at the latest.Again, I am sorry that we mishandled your order.Thank you.DonaldCustomer Servicetextbookrecycling.com

As per our terms and conditions the book was rejected due to water damageAfter it was rejected the customer was informed via email as to the reason the book was rejectedThe book was placed on a hour courtesy hold and the customer was informed via email that the book would be returned for a $shipping and handling chargeWe didn't hear from the customer within that hour time period and as a result the book was disposed of

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the responseIf no reason is received, your complaint will be closed Administratively Resolved] Revdex.com, I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaintFor your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below I do not want and do not deserve credit for the books they say they received in my packageThey do not belong to me, were not mine to sell, and I will not accept money I am not entitled to as a matter of principleI did communicate this to them, but apparently their reading comprehension is just as poor as their business practices in generalI will take my books back, or the money I was owed for selling them, or nothing at all, thank you very muchAdditionally, I just want to re-emphasize how ridiculous their explanation soundsWe aren't talking about a parcel filled with hot sauce or towels or car parts- we are talking about a parcel with different textbooks in itA federal offense was committed when my parcel was allegedly tampered with, but apparently this sort of thing happens a lot, I'm told, and they have no plans to get to the bottom of it, nor have they told me law enforcement was informed of any of these incidentsRather than package contents mysteriously changing without explanation into other extremely similar package contents with all other aspects of the package remaining the same, a supernatural event for which there is no evidence or history, it is more likely that they received my books and credited them to someone else, and tried to credit me for that person's booksTo avoid paying two people for one set of books, they have decided to tell me a story for which there is no evidence.I have also been to the post office as they requested, and the postal service has no idea what they are talking about, having stated they delivered the package without incidentNo one at the post office was able to give me any examples of package contents being removed and/or replaced by their employeesI don't want a check for books I didn't ownThis company may have no scruples when it comes to ripping people off, but I doIf they don't want to pay me what I'm owed or give me my books back, then I don't want anything from them Regards, [redacted]

Hello, We regret that our customer’s buyback order has not been a smoother and more satisfying experienceAs we shared with her in several emails, we understand both her frustration with this transaction as well as her concern that we did not fully understand the nature of the problemWe acknowledge that here was some miscommunication regarding the number of books in her order, which contributed to her frustration with usThis was a result of the mis-delivery by the Postal ServiceWhile our customer knew she shipped only one book, we showed two books in her order because we needed to add the book we received in lieu of the book she sentWe received one book, she sent a different book than the one we received, so we referenced the two books in her order several times in our emails to her The US Postal Service mishandled her parcel, and we communicated this to her when we processed the book that we receivedThe book that she shipped to us was not in the parcel that we received from her, and we presume that the book was lost by the Postal ServiceInstead of her book, what we received in her parcel with her shipping label was a book that she did not ship to usAs we said in a previous email, we had to presume that the parcel was in some way compromised in a USPS facility so that her book was lost and the package was resealed after someone's book was put into the boxOn the face of it, this scenario seems unlikely and understandably created suspicions for our customerWe can only speculate about what happened while the parcel was in transit, but we are certain of this: she shipped Essentials of Sociology a book that we never received; that we received A Child’s World, a book in a sealed package with her mailing label attached that is not her book; and that we paid her $on June 23rd for the book that we received We neither have her book nor have any reasonable expectation to receive them, though we of course will process it in the unlikely event they arrive here Given the current situation, we cannot honor her request for us to return her bookAdditionally, we cannot pay for books that we do not receiveThis is stated within our website's Buyback Terms and Conditions, so our actions are consistent with our stated policies We empathize with our customer, and we completely understand her concerns that we are conducting ourselves unethically While occurrences are rare, we have seen this scenario with the Postal Service several times over the yearsPlease let us know if there is any additional information we can provide, or if we can in any way facilitate the process Thank you [redacted] Customer ServiceTextbook Recycling Co / [redacted] Style Definitions */

As mentioned, the items we received were water damage Our terms clearly state that we do not issue payment for items that have this sort of damage Customers are responsible to let us know if they would like their damaged items returned within hours All customers receive an automated email to the email account they have registered in our system Unfortunately, as terms and conditions were not followed, we are still unable to release payment for books that were received damagedPlease refer to our terms and conditions at: http://www.textbookrecycling.com/buyback-terms-and-conditions.aspx at anytimeThank you,

Thank you for your patience Your item was returned as a valid copy from the publisher and payment should be issued first thing Monday morning Thank you

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I am fully aware of the condition the book I sent you was inThe book you sent back is not my book and you again denied the book that was not mine for missing pagesThe book that you sent me (that was not the book I sent in) is not missing any pages Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Two books were received but neither book matched the ISBN's originally provided by the customer when completing their buyback formAs a result, and as stated in the terms and conditions that the customer agreed to, the books were revalued based on their actual ISBN and found to have no value

In order to offer the highest possible price for books our quotes are valid for calendar daysBooks must be tendered at a UPS location within calendar days of accepting the quoteThis is stated both in our terms and conditions and on our textbook buyback formsYou tendered your books at a UPS outlet calendar days after accepting our quoteAs a result when we received your books they were subject to repricing based on current market pricesThis was clearly communicated to you in the email you received: Books were received past the guaranteed price quote dateAll adjusted prices are based on our current buyback prices You were offered the option of having the water damaged books and the books that had no current value in our system returned to you for $per bookAs a courtesy we will pay you $for the books that currently have no value in our systemThis is the amount we had originally quoted as the value of the books assuming you had tendered the books within the quote validity periodWe will not pay for the books that are water damagedWe will return those to you for $per book to offset both our shipping/handling costs to receive and then resend the booksThis money can be subtracted from the $leaving us owing you $if you choose to have the water damaged books returned

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me My complaint with textbookrecycling.com, complaint # [redacted] , has been resolvedI still wouldn't recommend them They took forever, they're rude, and a lousy company.Thank you, [redacted] ***

Apologies, we are unable to return the books, as they are now property of the publisher as they are not verified copies Publishers require us to turn the books over to them so they are not returned to the marketplace

The book is being returned to the customer at our expense

During our email communication with our customer, twice we provided a pdffile of his receipt showing the $amount he was quoted online for his books on 9/19/This is the exact amount that he was paid for his books once they arrived and were processedWe cannot say with 100% certainty why the $amount appears on the email we sent him, though we suspect that it may be a corrupted file errorAs we communicated previously, since we paid the full amount that the customer was initially quoted online for his books, we do not feel responsible to pay a spurious amount that appears in the auto-email that was sentUsing the logic in his complaint, if he was fully paid the $amount he was quoted but an erroneous amount of $11, appeared on his auto-reply email as the amount payable, he would expect us to pay the differenceHe has considered our behavior as breaching a deal, while we consider that we have fully paid our customer the amount he was quoted online. Please let me know if I can provide any additional assistance or information.Thank you[redacted] textbookrecycling.com
