I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I do not want and do not deserve credit for the books they say they received in my package. They do not belong to me, were not mine to sell, and I will not accept money I am not entitled to as a matter of principle. I did communicate this to them, but apparently their reading comprehension is just as poor as their business practices in general. I will take my books back, or the money I was owed for selling them, or nothing at all, thank you very much. Additionally, I just want to re-emphasize how ridiculous their explanation sounds. We aren't talking about a parcel filled with hot sauce or towels or car parts- we are talking about a parcel with different textbooks in it. A federal offense was committed when my parcel was allegedly tampered with, but apparently this sort of thing happens a lot, I'm told, and they have no plans to get to the bottom of it, nor have they told me law enforcement was informed of any of these incidents. Rather than package contents mysteriously changing without explanation into other extremely similar package contents with all other aspects of the package remaining the same, a supernatural event for which there is no evidence or history, it is more likely that they received my books and credited them to someone else, and tried to credit me for that person's books. To avoid paying two people for one set of books, they have decided to tell me a story for which there is no evidence.I have also been to the post office as they requested, and the postal service has no idea what they are talking about, having stated they delivered the package without incident. No one at the post office was able to give me any examples of package contents being removed and/or replaced by their employees. I don't want a check for books I didn't own. This company may have no scruples when it comes to ripping people off, but I do. If they don't want to pay me what I'm owed or give me my books back, then I don't want anything from them.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  However, Textbookrecycling.com is not telling the truth about only receiving 2 books. I sent them 4 books and they are stealing from me.  The receipt from UPS states that the package weighed 11lbs, and 2 books do not weigh 11llbs.  This is grossly unethical on their part.  How can they explain that a package with only 2 books weighed 11lbs, it does not make sense based on the evidence.  Revdex.com, thank you for helping, but this is an unethical company.Sincerely, [redacted]

In order to offer the highest possible price for books our quotes are valid for 3 calendar days. Books must be tendered at a UPS location within 3 calendar days of accepting the quote. Books were received past the guaranteed price quote date. All adjusted prices are based on our current buyback prices.
You were offered the option of having the water damaged books and the books that had no current value in our system returned to you for $3.95 per book. As a courtesy we will pay you $17.71 for the books that currently have no value in our system. This is the amount we had originally quoted as the value of the books assuming you had tendered the books within the quote validity period. We will not pay for the books that are water damaged. We will return those to you for $3.95 per book to offset both our shipping/handling costs to receive and then resend the books. This money can be subtracted from the $17.71 leaving us owing you $9.81 if you choose to have the 2 water damaged books returned.

We quoted on an ISBN for a hardcover copy of Applied Behavior and Analysis. We received a loose leaf copy which has a completely different ISBN and a different value. When we received the book we quoted the new value ($0) based on the actual ISBN of the book we received. We issued notice via email...

I am rejecting this response because:The book I sent did NOT have any water damage and was in perfect condition.The company is being dishonest in claiming that the book was damaged and I question how many other people they are lying to in order to keep their books and not pay the people the amount they have quoted.  I would never have sent in a book that was water damaged because I KNOW no one wants to purchase a damaged book.  This was in mint condition--NO water damage, no highlighting, not even pencil in the book. It was read for one semester and then sold back in the same perfect condition I purchased it in.

The items I sent were not damaged in any way. They have not sent any emails to notify me about the books. I have no way of knowing what was done with the books. They claimed that they would send  me the original email from July 24th and my original order which showed nine books that the said I was supposed to send. Why has the date changed on when they were received? This company is scamming people.

I am rejecting this response because:I elaborated that the book did NOT have any water damage upon being sent and it was in a plastic lined mailer that should not have allowed water damage. Also, I did not ask for a return because the time it took for the final decision to come through from the company, the textbook had lost half it's value. It's my opinion that they no longer saw profit in accepting the book and used the pretense of "water damage" as with so many other people which so usefully negates all guarantees. The 72 hours for my return has passed, but it would be useless for me to take a return back now. They cannot go back on their guarantee when wanted just because they can no longer profit of a book. I will only accept the full promised price of the textbook.
