If I could leave less than 1 star I would.
My case was simple, my son contracted pinkeye at school two weeks earlier, my wife contracted it from our son a week after that, and I started to show signs of the infection a week after my wife. Because I wanted to get a jump-start on a remedy, rather than wait to see my primary care doctor which would have taken a day or two to get in, I decided to try Teladoc, who my insurance provider (***) has been touting as their preferred Telamed partner. The process was not overly smooth getting hold of a doctor, however, some of that could have been user error as well (they call from a restricted number and my phone does not accept calls from those lines); after a few tries I was able to connect with a doctor via video call. After talking with the doctor for a few minutes he too agreed that I had pinkeye and prescribed a remedy, and promptly 'called in' the script.
Seemingly problem solved, I went to the pharmacy 15 minutes later, picked up the eye drops, and started the treatment. It should be noted the script I was given was different than the one my wife and son were prescribed from a local doctor (which will be the start of the issues I have with Teladoc).
The next morning my eyes were both significantly infected, (it was originally just one eye), glued shut with puss. Once I was able to blindly get to the sink and clean them, I was barely able to open my eyes due to significant swelling. This was awful. But, I decided to use the Teladoc system to reach back out to the doctor to get a prescription update. As I researched the medicine I was prescribed versus the one my family was prescribed it was clear through many clinical studies the efficacy of the prescription my wife and son received was significantly better, and the medicine also was noted to clear the infection much faster than the one Teladoc prescribed. At this time, all that needed to be done to get a 4- or 5-star rating would have been to simply ‘call in’ a new script; problem solved. (But no...)
When I finally received an email response, which to be fair was pretty quick, maybe a couple hours later, I was told to go see a local doctor, rather than giving follow-up care. What I read in that statement is ‘go see a real doctor who knows what to prescribe and cares about their patients.’ So now I have paid Teladoc a copay ($20) and I would guess they will receive compensation from *** for the ‘office visit’. I noted my dissatisfaction with the service and requested they refund my copay since they did not follow through with the remainder of my care, requiring me to go to a real doctor. I was told they would review this and get back to me within a couple days.
In the meantime, I was able to get in to see my GP, who prescribed me the medicated eyedrops my wife and son were prescribed, along with an internal antibiotic since the infection at that point was out of control, the whites of both eyes were not pink, but completely scarlet red, and swollen to about 70% closure. While my eyes are not 100% 4 days after the new medication was prescribed, I am nearly cured with the updated regimen.
Fast forward 3 (business) days and I received a call back from a representative of Teladoc. I was told they are denying my request for a refund, because I agreed to their ‘terms of service’ before I was put in contact with a doctor. I reiterated, they reviewed the case, and were standing behind their legal ‘TOS’ even though their doctor prescribed an outdated medicine that was less effective and took longer to work (if at all in my situation). And that while I used their ‘follow-up’ option requesting a different, modern, prescription which is more effective in the treatment and was denied that they were going to keep their $20. I indicated that I would be making it known in every medium available to me that they provide a very low level of service and do not stand behind the treatment of their patients.
I generally do not post negative reviews in social media, or other review boards, but, because this deals with a person’s health and wellbeing I felt compelled to do so. The interesting (upsetting) part in all of this, I gave Teladoc two opportunities to make this right; the first simply asking to be prescribed a more effective medicine which would have salvaged the entire experience, the second when asking for a refund which would have saved the negative reviews I am posting.
In summation, if you need treatment go elsewhere, do not use Teladoc. Go to your local walk-in clinic or wait to see your GP as the level of treatment you will receive will end up sending you to your GP (or other) regardless, costing you more time and money.

Yesterday I contacted Teledoc because I have used it in the past for my older son. It is a service where a doctor calls you and will provide medical info for you. It cost five dollars and when I received the call the doctor could only say my son who is 11 months old was too young for him to give advice to and stated I needed to speak to a doctor in person. They were aware of my sons age prior to making the call and explained that they couldn’t do nothing due to his age. I requested a refund and spoke with Moses in member support. He would not provide his last name. He stated I was not getting a refund and there was nothing I can do about it. He would not transfer me to a supervisor. He said he was the final say so. I do not believe it is right for them to charge me to call me and say they will not do nothing based on information that they were already aware of prior to accepting the payment.

My complaint is about a health issue and billing. Today I contacted teladoc because I am sick. The doctor did not prescribe antibiotics for me but said if I started to run a fever in a couple of days I would need antibiotics. Just 3 hrs after talking to the doctor, I was running a low grade fever. When I called back to talk to the doctor I was told I had to pay for a second visit. I am literally calling same day for the same illness. I asked to speak to a supervisor to explain my situation but was told by the rep, Kira, that I would get a call back in 24 - 48 hrs. Rediculous!!!!! I continued to state my dissatisfaction with paying a second time, she placed me on hold for 5 min. When she came back on the phone I felt so ill I paid a second time for the same illness on the same day. After I made the appointment I asked why I was placed on hold, she said to talk to her “resources” and there was nothing she could do about the charge. I talked to the doctor and expressed my dissatisfaction with this. His response is that I needed to speak to administration about the charges. My guess is that it is the same “resources “ that could do nothing about the charge. This my first experience with using this “convenient” and highly expensive method of health care. I will never use them again!

utilized the Teladoc services on 2//2019. *** was able to speak and receive medical advice from two Teladoc physicians. Due to *** being treated by the originating physician with a treatment plan including 3 different forms of medication, the second visit would be considered a ‘second opinion.' The first physician stated to seek further treatment if not better within 6 days. Due to the second visit being requested within the same day, it did not give an opportunity for the treatment plan to take effect. Unfortunately, we are not able to process the refund due to services being rendered.

Even though I only paid $5, the service I received was not worth a cent. The entire Teladoc team failed to update a prescription from eye drops to eye ointment. I spent three hours in a pharmacy and drove over 100 miles just so I could not get the medicine I needed because they were incompetent. If this was any other type of business I would accept the service I received. This is a service for people who are sick and paying to get a prescription for the medicine they need now, not three hours from now while waiting at a pharmacy. The company offered a free visit. I don't want to use them ever again. I wanted a refund and they refused. Its pathetic that a company can hear of the experience I had and still not refund $5.

I used Teladoc to make an appointment with a dermatologist. I was clear I needed a specific medication in my request for an appointment. teladoc connected me with the dr who confirmed I needed the medication. However teladoc policies would not allow the dr to prescribe the medicine. I was clear about what I was looking for from my consult, and teladoc had every opportunity to tell me they could not provide that before taking my 70$. I asked and paid for a service that they knew they couldnt provide. I consider this theft and completely unacceptable.

used the Teladoc service on 2//2019. Due to policy and procedure, we were unable to fulfill the specific prescription requested. Teladoc has refunded *** the $70.00 visit fee on 2//2019

I was scheduled for a phone appointment with Teledoc on January ***, 2019. I spoke with the doctor for a few seconds 3 times, as our call kept dropping. Shortly after, I received a message in the Teledoc app saying that our appointment had been canceled because of the dropped calls. I scheduled another for the same day by calling the number on the app. In doing so, I asked that I be refunded for the appointment that was canceled. The woman I spoke with told me that she understood and saw where the call was canceled and said the refund would be issued. After some time, I called the Teledoc number again to check on my refund process. I found that the request for a refund was never even submitted and there was no record of it. Because of this, the woman I spoke with this time issued a refund request and sent it. She told me then that I would receive a refund in 24 business hours. More time passed since this call with no response or refund. I called the Teledoc number again to be told that I was misinformed about the refund taking 24 hours, but that it had been submitted and could take up to 10 business days. I called again after the business days were up and it has been 22 days total since the first refund request was supposed to have been submitted the day of my initial appointments. I was told that it was still being processed but they had no notes about the appointment being canceled that day, but that it was still being processed. Frustrated and angry, I asked to speak with management. I was put on hold and then denied my request to speak to management. First I was told this was due to management being unavailable. Later in the conversation, I was told that it was actually because management told them they wouldn’t speak to me because they wanted it to be handled by protocol. I was told that there was nothing I could do but wait some more until Teledoc either messages me on the app or sends me a formal letter after they decide if they will refund me or not. In saying so, it has been a total of 26 days since I was first told I would be issued a refund. I payed for a service that I only received once two times. I also was told different things from different people about how the situation was and is being handled. Taking money from someone without giving them a service they were supposed to have been given is stealing.

On January , 2019 I requested my first Teledoc Consultation for swollen fingers and included photos for reference. When the doctor called all he could tell me is he had no idea and that I should see my primary care physician. If this is something a doctor couldn't even diagnose why waste my time and money and have a doctor even call? I basically paid $40 for someone to tell me to see another doctor. My husband has used Teledoc many times and has had nothing but great things to say but this was not the case for me. Teledoc should screen their requests for consultations or offer a discount if there is no outcome. $40 for a minute phone call with nothing but a "go see another doctor" is unacceptable.

Teladoc is a waste of time and money. You call and all they do is recommend you to your doctor. Wasted 40 dollars to do what I have always done. I did this to try for the first time and it was a let down and I am out 40 dollars. This is just disappointing. The doctor I spoke to even said you are not a doctor and you would not understand when I asked what the value to Teladoc is. All I could do is laugh. I would not recommend this at all.

Teledoc had my account set up incorrectly yet still collected their fee. I started to make an appointment online but was asked for my credit card information. I was confused because through my employer it was a free service. So I called in and explained that this was a free service through my employer, the girl read from her script that it could be a 0-45 dollar fee. I asked if they were going to review the appointment and see that it was a free service... she read from her script again. I took the appointment believing this was the way it all worked, that they would see my account was with my employer and no charge. Then I was charged $40. I called in on 12//18 and the customer service rep said that they had my account set up incorrectly on their end and that they had it set as through my insurance instead of my employer. She said she would submit it for a refund and set my account up the correct way so this wouldn't happen again. Then I got a call a couple days later asking for more information about the event and I gave it to them. I hadn't heard anything back so I called in on 1/*/19 for a follow up. A Sandra (I think it was her name, she was speaking too fast when she answered the phone) said that there was no refund but they got the additional information they needed and that it was still in review with the leadership team. She send me to Sherida in the leadership team and she advised me that it was approve on 1/*/19 for the refund and to allow 7-10 business days for the refund to go through. Everything was great, I thanked her for seeing the mishap and taking responsibility for their error. I can in today, 1//19 because I received an email on 1//19 stating the refund was denied. I spoke with a Tasha and after she reviewed the account she said that it had been denied. I asked her why was I told it was approved just two days ago and she said that all it was showing was a denial. I asked to speak with Sherida and she said she wasn't there and that she was the only one I could speak to. I told her that I didn't believe that and that I wanted to speak with someone on the leadership team who had reviewed this and she said that she was on the leadership team and there was no one else I could speak to. I told her our entire company has this service and has had zero issues, yet my account gets set up incorrectly on THEIR end and I have to pay the repercussions for THEIR mistake. She was not helpful and just kept telling me it would get denied. I told her I wanted to speak with her supervisor because she was clearly not doing anything to help me besides read the account notes. She told me I had dual coverage and I told her I understand that was the issue but that they are taking the way to benefit them and not the patient by taking this $40 payment which is unethical if I have an account that offers the service for free and they didn't use that information.

I made an appointment for a general medical consultation for a very common medical ailment. The doctor called me, we spoke for two minutes, and he basically referred me to my primary care provider and said he couldn't do anything for me. The charge for this 2 minute call was $40. Teledoc's website lists a whole host of conditions that they treat, including: Abdominal Pain/Cramps, Abscess, Acid Reflux, Allergies, Arthritis, Asthma, Backache, Blood Pressure issues, Bronchitis, Bowel/Digestive issues, Cellulitis, Cold, Constipation, Cough, Croup, Diarrhea, Dizziness, Eye Infection/Irritation, Fever, Flu, Gas, Gout, Headache/Migraine, Herpes, Joint Pain/Swelling, Laryngitis, Pink eye, Poison Ivy/Oak, Rash, Respiratory infection, Sinusitis, Skin Injury, Sore throat, Sprains & Strains, Strep, Tonsillitis, Vaginal/menstrual issues, Yeast infection, etc.
And yet, there seems to be a whole host of medications that they cannot prescribe (including some antivirals) and nowhere on their website is this list made available to their customers. What's the point of using their service only to be referred to a primary care provider? I feel very misled and very unhappy with the "services" provided.

Was charged a $27 fee 12//2017 that was not authorized. Called Teledoc on 12//2017 to cancel service and was told the charge would be refunded. I was asked why I was cancelling and I told them the service was no longer needed and I had a better insurance plan now. The service was then cancelled and I was told I would receive a refund for the $27. Did not see the refund. Called 12//2017 about the refund. Teledoc now says they will NOT refund the fee.

I contacted Teladoc today for a female health issue. I had previously been treated by a Teladoc physician for the same issue on 8//18. When I was contacted today the physician spent 1 minute and 52 seconds confirming symptoms and telling me no. He told me Teladoc's policy changed and he could not treat me for my condition. This is unacceptable because I had a reasonable, good faith, expectation that I would be able to get the prescription today. My regular doctor is on vacation for the holiday, otherwise I would have made an appointment. Urgent care costs too much and my company promotes Teladoc as being an alternative. I work for a major health insurance company and I understand terms and conditions and that Teladoc doctors may not be able to treat an issue. HOWEVER, since I was just treated for the SAME issue 4 months ago, I don't understand why I have to pay $40 for a policy change that I was unaware of, cannot, locate, or even confirm. I contacted customer service and the representative was extremely nice and empathetic. It's not her fault and she tried to see if the department would issue a refund but they told her to tell me about terms and conditions (which I knew they would say). I then asked for the number to corporate and to speak with a supervisor. She had a hard time getting a supervisor on the line (typical for a call center). I asked her if filing a complaint with the Revdex.com would be my only recourse but she couldn't answer that question. I am not a complainer but I feel this is the only avenue I can take. I know $40 may not seem like a lot of money, but I have a feminine issue that reoccurs every few months and since it's Christmastime I thought that Teladoc would be a good alternative because I had success for the same condition previously. How can a company and its doctors be so INCONSISTENT??? If it's yes, then it's yes for all. If it's no, then it's no for all. I would have NEVER called and paid $40 if I was aware of this policy change. I consider it deception! I am highly upset and now I need to pay for an urgent care visit which will be more money out of my pocket. Now that I understand policy changes I will not be referring my friends or colleagues, nor will I contact them again. If I receive a refund I will be satisfied and cut my losses.

I visited a dermatologist electronically on November , 2018. During this visit I received my prognosis, treatment plan and a prescription to be called into my local CVS. This visit costed $75.00. After speaking with the local CVS, my health insurance and Teledoc over the course of several weeks I was still unable to have my prescription filled. Nobody was able to get ahold of the prescribing doctor for a pre-authorization. Insurance told me they have done all they can do and CVS cannot fill said prescription without this pre-authorization from the doctor. Over the next few weeks I spoke to Teledoc several times to follow up on reaching the doctor and was told they cannot get ahold of him. I became frustrated and told them I would like to receive a refund for my original doctor's visit. Today, 12/*/18, Teledoc told me that I will not be getting a refund for this pointless doctors visit and that they have done all they can do. Their customer service was very little help and I was constantly bounced around to different departments without any clear direction or advice.

In my first attempt to use Teladoc, I was looking to refill a prescription for Betamethasone, a cream used to treat Eczema. I paid the $45 for the consult and read the details that mentioned all prescriptions aren't always fulfilled however assumed that since my Dermatologist said Teladoc should be able to refill the prescription, it shouldn't be a problem. A doctor then contacted me and informed me that he couldn't fill the prescription because the state of Georgia only allows for a 3-day prescription. Not because of the type of prescription. The doctor then suggested I call Teladoc and have them okay the release of the prescription beyond 3 days, and after calling Teladoc, they simply said the doctor referred me back to a Physician. Quite a bit of confusion here.

After calling and requesting a refund, I was told someone would contact me about the situation. That individual contacted me today and after listening to my story, informed me they cannot offer a refund but only a credit. After the bad experience, I will no longer be using Teledoc and therefore, do not want a credit, but a full refund. I was also told the company does not issue refunds, which I believe is false. After being lied to about that, and being lied to by the doctor who indicated Teledoc could allow him to prescribe beyond the 3-days, I believe a full refund should be issued.

WOW..... They aren't doctors. I feel like I paid to get the same information the 800 on the back of my insurance card gives me. It's a paid nurse line so they can tell you some home remedies and then tell you to see a real doctor. My experience TWICE sucked. First was dermatologist who refused to re-prescribe my exzema cream. That's right, not even re-prescription and told me to see real dermatologist. There goes $70 and paid another $150 at the dermatologist to get the prescription. Oh wait, I fell for them again with sore throat but figured for $40 maybe just maybe they will give me the antibiotics. Once again, told me to gurgle salt water and see a real doctor. Are you bloody kidding me. They are NOT doctors but paid nurses like the free nurse line on back of insurance card. Oh and you can't request refund because they will say once you spoke to them it's a done transaction. Do yourselves a favor and first call nurse line and then IF needed ....... see a real doctor. I for one am done with this scam.

Teledoc did not return multiple calls regarding bad service from a provider.
The provider Blocked me from receiving calls from other Physicians regarding my illness because I disagreed with the physician's misdiagnosis. All scheduled calls for a new Physicians to speak to me were blocked and canceled. Customer service dept. Put in notes to have a new consultation to reach out to me and that a supervisor would look into the situation.
