Teladoc supporting coverage is misleading and their customer service policies lack considerable focus on the customer (patient).

I scheduled a visit, via telephone, and in my request clearly specified what I was in need of. In order to book, I was charged $40 for the service however services were not rendered.
The physician, or so he claimed, called me, interrupted me twice, informed me he could not help me, and the call was ended after less than 10 minutes with no resolution.
When I contacted Teladoc customer service, the denied the refund and stated the reason was that the doctor had provided me with a treatment plan which consisted of "go to the emergency room for immediate care". What a joke and poor representation of the medical community.

I went online and scheduled a visit with Teladoc for treatment. The physician who called advised me that they would not assist me and advised me to go to urgent care. I reached out to the company and requested a refund as they would not assist me and sent me somewhere else I would have to pay for the service they did not provide.

On Friday, September *** I paid $40 for an over-the-phone consultation with a doctor for a sinus infection/ allergies that had been affecting me for over 6 months. I had used Teladoc once before. The first time I ever used Teladoc, the doctor was very understanding, she helped me, and offered a solution. The solution was prescribed allergy medicines, a nasal spray, and a steroid pill to break up the congestion.

However, this last time (my second time using Teladoc), I received a call from a different doctor. His name was Dr. O'*** The over-the-hone consultation with Dr. O was 3 minutes long. It cost $40. He asked a few quick questions, did not listen, understand, or offer any solution. Dr. O said I needed to go see a real doctor. But that was what I just paid for. $40 over the phone with a real doctor. He told me to go buy over-the-counter meds, but I told him I had tried those already and they would NOT work. Dr. O could have sent in an allergy over-the-counter prescription to my pharmacy so at least my insurance would cover the cost of medicines, instead of me having to go spend MORE money on over the counter meds at the store after the wasted call. I had just paid $40 for a call, he could have at least tried to help me. He didn't care and the phone call ended. I was very disappointed. The first time I used Teladoc, the lady doctor I got wanted to help me and she send in the over-the-counter allergy prescription to the pharmacy so I didn't have to spend more money.

My money was taken. $40 was taken for Dr. O with Teladoc to talk to me for 3 minutes, not accurately diagnose me, and offer NO solution or prescription. I feel like this was a waste of time, money, and a scam. Very disappointed that a $40 phone call was not even effective and offered me no solution.

I've spoke to customer service a few times. They say "We have requested a refund." But Teladoc denies it stating they don't have to do anything. Then I also shouldn't have to pay $40 for a 3 minute phone call with a doctor who did not help me in any way, shape, or form.

I even went as far as requesting Teladoc to please give me a different doctor call at no cost or refund my money. At minimum I deserve another chance with a doctor who cares!! I AM SICK!!!

The teladoc account for my daughter, *** was cancelled without reason. I have called teladoc numerous time with and without my daughter's primary insurance to get things figured out/restore her account. Insurance has sent my daughter's information over 2 more times to show she is in good standing. Teladoc won't give me a timeline of when her accessibility will be restored, will not give me any contact information other than phone number and states insurance knows how to contact them, yet they say insurance hasn't sent anything (even though they have). I've found them to be very unhelpful- they can't give a reason as to why the service was terminated or rationale as to how we were able to use services earlier in the year- they only say that there hasn't been an account for her this year, though there was, and are not offering solutions.

No service provided at all. I entered the reason for my visit in the booking section and included pictures, I then was prompted to schedule a call. I paid my copay and received a call to be told immediately that I'd have to go to Urgent Care for my issue. I was on the phone for less than 5 minutes, Teladoc took payment knowing up front what my issue was and knew that they couldn’t assist. They provided me absolutely no service. I called for a refund and the supervisor refused to give a refund for a service that was not provided.

Duplicate charged my credit card 3 months in a row. Called them to credit back and Was told I would need to send in cc statements in order to get credited . When I sent copy of statements I was emailed that I needed to call instead....Will not return calls or credit my account. Bad business.

They are charging 59$ for a service they did not even TRY to render. I had a video chat scheduled at 8pm EDT. I waited and it took 27 minutes before some man said,"Hello are you there? Hello?" He then abruptly disconnected and never appeared back again. Nor did he even try to call me back even once. It is their fault if their person cannot hear me and I can hear them and I am answering back. It is their fault if their person only speaks twice and does not attempt to even call back even ONE TIME. I need my refund back. This is a charge for a fraudulent service that was not rendered.

Ambeter Health Insurance connected me with Teladoc, inc. A phone consultation with a doctor service. After accepting several disclaimers, I was connected with a doctor for a phone consult. The consulation call came in and lasted two minutes. The first minute was going through security protocol to confirm I was the correct patient. After the "doctor" was satisfied I was given a quick command to go to the hospital and the call was ended. No discussions of what my symptoms were indicating, no recommends on which type of doctor I needed to see, basically no "Consultation" took place. I was left confused and helpless as before the call; no illuminations were made. Teladoc had no problems accepting my payment (which was made prior to the actual doctor call) and telling me there are no refunds. Upon calling Teladoc several times to reach a supervisor to get help, I was brick walled and made to wait on the phone for long periods of time. All of this adds up to very bad business practice and leaves the customer helpless and stuck in the situation.

This is a simple matter of paying for a product and then not receiving said product. I believe they call that stealing? I have been taken for a financial ride in my moment of medical need.

I made a Teladoc appointment for Behavioral Health. I have *** and have managed it using Adderall or Vyvanse for about 6 years. When I made the appointment, the website listed this disclaimer: "Please note that our psychiatrists cannot prescribe anycontrolled substancesor medications for the treatment ofbipolar disorderorschizophrenia. Prescriptions for these drugs require in-person care and ongoing monitoring. You can use our services for therapy or to obtain other medications, but if you are currently taking any of these drugs, we cannot prescribe refills." I do not have those illnesses, so I proceeded. I scheduled the appointment and when I had the appointment the doctor talked to me for roughly 5 minutes, took down the general information you would give to a nurse or receptionist at an office and then told me that they cannot prescribe my medication. Even though I barely had the appointment, I was still charged $50 copay for the appointment. The doctor even admitted that for the treatment of ***, there is not much you can do on Teladoc. He also stated that it is not listed prominently that the drugs you need cannot be prescribed.

I emailed Teladoc to dispute the charge, since I really did not have an appointment. I completely understand the policy and I am not disputing that at all. I spoke with someone on the phone who said since I agreed to the terms and service, they couldn't refund me. I "spoke" to a doctor, so that warrants a non-refundable $50 charge. She offered me a credit for my next visit, to which I asked... Why would I use this service again when I can't get the therapy I need?

I believe that Teladoc is misleading people with mental illness stating that their service can help when many of the therapies that we need are not available.

I went through services online via *** under the impression according to their website that I will be able to speak with a board certified licensed doctor. I paid a co pay of $10 and received a call an hour later from a doctor who I told my issue to. (Postpartum anxiety) and his response was “you should go to the doctor”. I did not spend money to be told I need to go to the doctor when that was what I was already doing. Seeking a doctor through Teladoc. My issue is not something that can be determined through lab test. This was something that could have been determined just from a conversation which he didnt bother to have. I complained to the company with no resolution from it.

Called Teladoc told them I have a sinuous infection and I have been using a Neti pot and Flonase with decongestants. The doctor proceeds to tell me the same thing I told her. Like I already know I have a sinus infection and she tells me the exact same thing. I ended up having to go to urgent care to get a prescription. Why even offer a service and you can’t help treat me. I want my $40 back because essentially it was a waste, I left the call with the same amount of information as I did when it started

I contacted the Teladoc to treat my son's skin issue and uploaded relevant pictures . The doctor they provided was incompetent - she could not diagnose the issue and provided no prescription or other treatment yet they charged me $45. Following this failure from Teladoc I had to visit another doctor in person who easily correctly diagnosed the issue and prescribed a treatment that worked. Because of Teladoc's failure to deliver quality service I requested a refund but they ignored my request.

I used the Teladoc service because I believed I was suffering from a UTI or bladder infection. While going through the prompts for the service it asks what my primary complaint is. At no point does it ask you for previous documentation or does it provide a warning that if you do not have documentation from the last 5 years with the same condition that they will not be able to assist with said condition. Not until I received a call from said Teladoc personal was I notified of a policy that forbids doctors or RN's to treat said infections without the proper documentation. So I was charged $45 for them to tell me to go to urgent care or emergency room. Had I known they would not treat my condition I would have just gone to the urgent care. Instead, I paid Teladoc $45 for no service and my copay to the urgent care of $50. I paid for the service twice because I was not given proper information prior to paying for the Teladoc service.

This service is a complete rip off- I had an appointment over the phone - the doctor talked over me for the 3 minutes I was with her - I was trying to explain that my house was infected with Hflu and strep throat - she told me I didn’t have that and prescribed me an antihistamine after having a sore throat for 8 days and being lethargic (which I tried to tell her but she wouldn’t stop talking to hear me) - After getting off the phone I went to Urgent Care where I was diagnosed with Hflu and given Zpac - now Teledoc refuses to give me my money back because of their disclaimer stating that once the appointment is started you can’t get a refund - so basically these “fake doctors” can just talk over you and misdiagnose you and you are obligated to pay them.
Well Teledoc messed with the wrong person because I am reporting this to my insurance and I’m going to talk to an attorney- You can’t list a bunch of illnesses that you treat on your website and then completely misdiagnose someone and expect to keep money that wasn’t earned or simply answering a phone call and calling it a legit appointment and keeping the money when the clients concerns were not addressed at all -

What a complete waste of money, our daughter who is away in Iowa at college used them two different instances for the same exact symptoms, they charged the credit card and the Dr. called, spent 1 minute on the phone with her and said go to the ER. Her symptoms are ***. Really you take the $ and give her nothing other than you sound sick go to the ER. What is the point of this service I pay you $25 to tell her she sounds sick. I called to complain and they said sorry, we told her that there may not be a diagnosis and she may not receive meds.

I was expecting more, how about a picture of her throat, how about asking more questions, how about try a cold compress, tylenol and wait until morning and see a Dr. in person, because our service isn't able to help with this.

I used teledoc to receive a simple prescription for a uti, which is listed as a common service they provide, but when talking to the doctor she suggested I go see a doctor in perso. Instead of providing the service. I was already diagnosed and did not need to see a doctor again and that was confirmed by the urgent care. I called teledoc customer service to complain and ask for a refund as the service I paid for was not completed. I was apologized to by customer service and told that the refund would be processed and that I would get a confirmation in 24 hours when the money was sent back to my account. 48 hours later I receive an email that my request was denied. When I then called the company to complain about being lied to about receiving a refund and about not receiving the original service the customer service person said they will pull the call and decide if the customer service agent misled me. This company swindles sick people out of their money and promises treatment with no effort to provide it. They also employ dishonest business practices and customer service.

I started using your service sometime within the last two years. While paying for the monthly service I have attempted to use the service maybe a total of 4 times.

The first time I tried to use it, it took over 6 hours to get a phone call. Once I received a phone call I tried answer but no one was there.
The next few times the appointment was canceled but no attempt to even contact me by a doctor. The most recent time was even to discuss some options on depression, so thank you for that. I have contacted my employer to cancel my account but that is all they will let me do. I am so disappointed I wasted money on this service to not even get the proper usage out of it.

If I could leave less than 1 star I would.
My case was simple, my son contracted pinkeye at school two weeks earlier, my wife contracted it from our son a week after that, and I started to show signs of the infection a week after my wife. Because I wanted to get a jump-start on a remedy, rather than wait to see my primary care doctor which would have taken a day or two to get in, I decided to try Teladoc, who my insurance provider (***) has been touting as their preferred Telamed partner. The process was not overly smooth getting hold of a doctor, however, some of that could have been user error as well (they call from a restricted number and my phone does not accept calls from those lines); after a few tries I was able to connect with a doctor via video call. After talking with the doctor for a few minutes he too agreed that I had pinkeye and prescribed a remedy, and promptly 'called in' the script.
Seemingly problem solved, I went to the pharmacy 15 minutes later, picked up the eye drops, and started the treatment. It should be noted the script I was given was different than the one my wife and son were prescribed from a local doctor (which will be the start of the issues I have with Teladoc).
The next morning my eyes were both significantly infected, (it was originally just one eye), glued shut with puss. Once I was able to blindly get to the sink and clean them, I was barely able to open my eyes due to significant swelling. This was awful. But, I decided to use the Teladoc system to reach back out to the doctor to get a prescription update. As I researched the medicine I was prescribed versus the one my family was prescribed it was clear through many clinical studies the efficacy of the prescription my wife and son received was significantly better, and the medicine also was noted to clear the infection much faster than the one Teladoc prescribed. At this time, all that needed to be done to get a 4- or 5-star rating would have been to simply ‘call in’ a new script; problem solved. (But no...)
When I finally received an email response, which to be fair was pretty quick, maybe a couple hours later, I was told to go see a local doctor, rather than giving follow-up care. What I read in that statement is ‘go see a real doctor who knows what to prescribe and cares about their patients.’ So now I have paid Teladoc a copay ($20) and I would guess they will receive compensation from *** for the ‘office visit’. I noted my dissatisfaction with the service and requested they refund my copay since they did not follow through with the remainder of my care, requiring me to go to a real doctor. I was told they would review this and get back to me within a couple days.
In the meantime, I was able to get in to see my GP, who prescribed me the medicated eyedrops my wife and son were prescribed, along with an internal antibiotic since the infection at that point was out of control, the whites of both eyes were not pink, but completely scarlet red, and swollen to about 70% closure. While my eyes are not 100% 4 days after the new medication was prescribed, I am nearly cured with the updated regimen.
Fast forward 3 (business) days and I received a call back from a representative of Teladoc. I was told they are denying my request for a refund, because I agreed to their ‘terms of service’ before I was put in contact with a doctor. I reiterated, they reviewed the case, and were standing behind their legal ‘TOS’ even though their doctor prescribed an outdated medicine that was less effective and took longer to work (if at all in my situation). And that while I used their ‘follow-up’ option requesting a different, modern, prescription which is more effective in the treatment and was denied that they were going to keep their $20. I indicated that I would be making it known in every medium available to me that they provide a very low level of service and do not stand behind the treatment of their patients.
I generally do not post negative reviews in social media, or other review boards, but, because this deals with a person’s health and wellbeing I felt compelled to do so. The interesting (upsetting) part in all of this, I gave Teladoc two opportunities to make this right; the first simply asking to be prescribed a more effective medicine which would have salvaged the entire experience, the second when asking for a refund which would have saved the negative reviews I am posting.
In summation, if you need treatment go elsewhere, do not use Teladoc. Go to your local walk-in clinic or wait to see your GP as the level of treatment you will receive will end up sending you to your GP (or other) regardless, costing you more time and money.
