I obtained a sams club syncrony bank credit card a few months ago They failed to send the first statement to the correct address so they charged me late fees I switched to online statements and they failed to send notice of the next statement to the correct email so as soon as I discovered their error I paid off my balance including late charges and had them close my account Now I receive notice of another statement which tells me that I still owe them money At various times through my short experience with this poorly run organization they have frozen my card and wasted many hours of my time in trying to resolve issues of their making Don't do business with these people Sam's Club would do well to dissolve their relationship with them
I opened a savings account with Synchrony Bank online on October 21st of I made several attempts to log in to my online account once it was set up but was unsuccessful in doing so because the phone number for my security code to verify my device was incorrect, not because I entered it incorrectly, but because they pull phone numbers from Experian and do not use any of the information that you provide to them except strangely the address you give them is what they mail your paperwork to, despite what Experian says
I was told on numerous occasions that I attempted to resolve the issue with Synchrony Bank that this was typical for them and that I would have to call and have an agent let me in to my account each time that I wanted to log in until my information was updated from my profile of information that I provided to them on October 21st The first agent stated to me that I would have to wait about days for this to be completed That was back towards the end of December Today is January 5, and I still do not have access to my account because the phone number for the passcode to log in is STILL incorrect I called and spoke with ANOTHER agent who informed me that it was MY responsibility to call Experian now to update my phone number with them and then wait ANOTHER days for update
Each time that you call to have them assist you with logging into your account you have to provide a stranger with: your first and last name, social security number, date of birth, paternal grandparents first name So I have a savings account that I cannot manage with a company who wants me to lightheartedly hand out my personal information to their agents EACH TIME that I want to log in, until I can call Experian to get my phone number updated and wait two months NO other legitimate bank like Old National, Fifth Third, PNC, or even Chase has this issue as I either have banked or do bank with each of those as well I have closed my account and warn others, DO NOT be fooled with a minimally higher interest rate on checking This bank is a joke or a scam They have stated to me that my money should be available to my fifth third checking account in to business days, but I have few doubts that again, there will be some sort of trouble I will File a Formal Complaint at that time
This entire process of switching from Chase to Synchrony bank for our BP cards has been frustrating, disappointing, convoluted and unprofessional!
We were notified in writing that we would continue to use our Chase BP cards until replacements were received and activatedOn June, no replacement cards were received and customer service stated they were mailed May and to wait a few more days
On June, my wife's card was denied and call to customer service stated all the BP cards were cancelled and that it could not be re-instated This was done since all the replacement cards had been mailed We explained that we had not received the new cards and worse, our auto payments for express scripts medicines and other services were being deniedThe supervisor authorized over-night express of new card
If this is any indication of service to come, we'll be leaving Synchrony as soon as we decide on a suitable replacement!
About two weeks ago I talked to a Representative regarding the transfer of funds from my existing IRA to a Synchrony IRA CD Today I received their paperwork for my signature, to initiate the transfer process Imagine my surprise to see that the document specified the transfer of my ENTIRE IRA AMOUNT, rather than the amount specified in the phone conversation So, my question was "are these people just careless handling my money, or just plain crooks"? When I called them back to complain (and have them issue a corrected document) I was told that it would take to hours to have a Supervisor call me Not the kind of customer service that earns my business! Good bye Synchrony
I just opened an account with this bank and the customer service rep was very pleasent and knowledgeableI see that they have many negative reviews regarding credit card accounts so I would be leary about thatI will see just how things progress with my acountThe customer service rep spoke very fluent english and that's a big plus for me
I over paid my paypal account in May and then requested a refund of the over paymentThey stated that the checkwassent outon June 5thI have never rceived the check and afteramonth ofstruggle, the supposedly sent me another checkI haveyettoreceivethat check even though ithe check was suppose to be mailed from Orlando Fl and I liveInJacksonville FLNowthey tell methatit will take even more time for me to get my refundI am looking to start legal action against them for my refund and unfair business practicesThe continued unfulfilled promises have caused me to have issues with my bills, as I have needed that money to pay an unexpected bill I could not even get anyone to call me back when requesting a supervisorThis is a ridiculous company to do business with
Don't entrust Synchrony Financial with your credit, your personal information! These scrubags will call you at any hour of the day or night They have hidden fees that will turn your Amazon/Discount Tire/and numerous other merchant accounts into a privacy nightmare There is no bargain with these loan sharks I paid off my account in four months and I am working with Discount Tire to disconnect me with any association with Synchrony
I would rather trust the Taliban than get involved with these crooks Do yourself a favor When a merchant offers you a Visa card, these crooks are the credit holders Since I opened an account with them I have been getting hang up calls and solicitations from every half assed credit organization If you value your credit and your reputation, avoid these guys like the plague
During the conversion of my BP Chase card, I lost the online access I use to keep track of tranactions and make paymentsI can't log on to online paymentI plan on using my rewards up and canceling my cardThe reqards got worse years ago with BP CC and now they are changing again, not getting better, and having to just through a bunch of hoops
I indicated while signing up that I wanted to start the account with $(min required to avoid fees)When I linked my checking account with Synchrony, they TOOK OUT the money from my checking account without my initiating the transfer! No other online bank has ever done it, even when I specified how much I wanted to put into the new account, they never took out the money themselvesI am glad I didn't write the full amount I wanted to fund the account with, since it was still at my other online savings account and they would have overdrawn my checkingI was not notified they would take out the money themselves or that they would debit my checking on that particular dayI do not trust any bank that takes out money from my checking without my explicit permission to do so and when to do that so I am closing my account shortly after I opened itI have banked with *** *** *** ** *** *** *** of *** and others, and no bank has ever done a transfer without my initiating it
I took advantage of the offer a $gift card with one click from AmazonThen on a $bill I was charged a $late feeAmazon card through Synchronicity charges high interest rates and no grace period
I felt trickedNo upside to these kind of accounts- only hurts people who are already strugglingThere should be a away to adjust late fee based on the amount and how late
I think the United States is in serious trouble with this new "Synchrony Bank", at least that has been my experience I always pay my bills on time using my most dependendable banking service who directly pays my bills and has so for many years without a problem NOW we have a serious problem here I have a PayPal Extras Master Card I did not get a bill a few months ago, and I had a bill of $8.3? some and I paid it that I forgot about even usingThe next month I get a bill for a late charge of $+ the $8.0? I owedI phoned and explainedThey said I could make that payment on the phone for free, so I did so The next month I get another bill from them and this time it was $+ $late fee that they told me on the phone they would waive that $late fee since I didn't get the bill Now I owew $for for an $8.?? charge I made, THEN the $charge was for PAYING ON THE PHONE! Today I have an Amazon Master Card telling me a late fee AND when contacting them they said they never got that paymentWhen placed on hold I recognized the musiic in the background to be eBay's tuneSo I think what we have here is a foreign country (this guy from Asia)Now for this bill I have to fax them proof and waitWith the experience I've had, this is not going to go well I would love to hear from many people in the very near future BTW, on the first problem, I had to involve my AG and the FTC to get it taken care ofMy next move for other people's sake is to get in touch with tne news trouble shooterIt appears this is not going to go away
Synchrony bank is the worst god dam credit lender I have ever used....try and call them they are hands down the hardest people to get ahold of and if you do ever get in contact with a real human it is some person in India that barely speaks English and more often than not the call is dropped and you have to restart the grueling process over again NEVER EVER use them or you will end up like me pissed off writing a bad review
HORRIBLE customer service I had a 3,credit limitNever paid late and Paid off the balance in full before the interest hit my credit card The resultDecrease of credit limit down to $ Customer service representative was horrible! The lowes customer service personnel shared with me that this is a recurrent problem and they have many unhappy customers In a nutshel, if you pay off your credit card early and synchrony is unable to collect on interestYou will get penalized and they find some way to justify it! I will never use this bank again
So, I wasn't aware that I have different Synchrony cards - Banana Republic, Lowes, and CareCredit(I'm certain one or more were originally GE)
Earlier this year, in the middle of buying a house, I noticed that my Banana Republic credit limit had been reduced from $15k to $ When I called to inquire I was told it was due to lack of activity I mentioned I hadn't been notified and the response was "the T&C's allow us to make changes without notification"
Two months ago I logged in to check for any balance and it asked me to authorize my new card I never got a new card, so I called They said they would cancel the "new" card and "rush" me a new one since I had had to wait Just FYI, I still never got a new card and when I log in its still asking me to authorize However, rather than just updating my credit history - my credit report now shows a closed account and a newly opened account Never had this happen with a lost or stolen card before Does anyone at Synchrony actually now how to operate a credit card bank?
Finally, just last week I noticed my credit limit on my CareCredit card had been cut in half from $12,down to $6, Again, told due to lack of activity This is a card for medical expenses I reserve it for the possibility of a medical emergency Its kind of the whole point of the card Again, no notification, and told again that's what the T&C's allow
Regardless what the T&C's "allow", it is very poor business to reduce credit limits, especially on medical cards, with no notification Was I to find out when I was in the ER trying to pay for medical attention? That would have been swell, huh?
Additionally, when they do this, they are affecting your credit rating First, your overall available credit is now reduced Secondly, and more importantly they are affecting your "credit utilization" or "debt to available credit ratio"
Across the two accounts, this bank has reduced my available credit by $20k just this year If I was carrying balances on other cards my credit to debt ration would be decimated
The real kick in the rear end is that I have a perfect payment history on both of these accounts, as well as every other account I have in my credit report In fact, my credit score is over I work very hard to keep my credit history in top condition, and Synchrony seems to be determined to undermine my efforts It should not be legal for them to do this to good quality customer's credit histories
Apparently, they just don't like good paying customers - I guess they don't make enough interest off of us
I use my Lowes card regularly, they haven't reduced the credit line on that one YET But I pay my balance most months, so they aren't getting any interest and I imagine they'll find another reason to reduce the limit or close the account - without any notification of course
I will never ever apply for another account that has anything to do with Synchrony, and would close the accounts I have if it wouldn't potentially damage my credit rating
This bank has reduced my credit limit twice this year I have routinely payed the balance off several times I have never been late always payed on time I have never had a bank perform this time of action in all my 25yrs of credit BEWARE! I have closed my accounts and have payed the balances off I will never use this bank again Terrible business practices if they want to continue gaining customers
I purchased some music equipment from Guitar Center at 0% financing for months through GE When it was transferred to Synchrony, they started charging me interest I immediately complained and have gone back and forth with both Guitar Center and Synchrony Guitar Center tells me they've sent the appropriate proof of my 0%/18month deal to Synchrony multiple times Synchrony claims to never have received it It's a vicious cycle and Synchrony is unwilling to help in any way other than to send me back to Guitar Center I won't do business with either company again
I have a credit card with HHGREGG and had a credit limit of $2,initiallyWhen it was GE Bank I never had a problem I have paid my balance down and paid things off and never with GE Bank was my limit decrease Once they switched to Synchrony Bank is when it went downhillOut of the blue my credit limit was decreased to $1,Wow, really? I have been paying way more than my minimum payment/ no late payments and you guys decrease my limit It is very disheartening to see a company really do this to their customersYou guys are destroying individuals credit with these practices My FICO scores have gone down because of this and I am very disappointed with the services of Synchrony BankEspecially, for someone who is trying to buy a home and rebuild their credit I will pay what I owe on this card and close the accountAnyway it goes from previous reviews my FICO score will still be affected whether they close the account or I do it myself I would tell anyone to stay away
My wife and I have an account through GE Capital Retail Bank (Synchrony)We pay our bill as soon as the statement is generatedToday, I noticed that they charged me a late feeThis was an obvious error, but when I called to resolve, they were incredibly rude, inconsiderate, and did not help me resolve the issueWe are closing the line at the end of next month over thisPlease avoid using this service
Synchrony Bank handles the credit applications for J C Penney stores We were looking to buy a new wedding set of rings for our 50th wedding anniversary We applied in store as we were told that they would give us 15% more off the ring for applyingMy husband was deniedThen we applied using my SS#They asked us to talk with Synchrony on that one The man on the phone said that someone else had applied and gotten a Penney's card using my SS#, but he was sure it was just a typographical error on their part and you, Synchrony, would have it fixed in hours I immediately came home and checked our credit ratings on all three credit companies My husband's was on all three with no signs of fraud Mine was near that also on all three Called back near the hour time and they said someone else had my SS# Called the next day and they said the issue had been fixed and that I needed to go back to the store and reapply When I did that, they said my request was denied
I have several credit cards with Synchrony bank and ---each month there is a service fee attached to the new statemantOne time with one card I made the payment after 5pm on the due date--and was charged a late fee of

Do yourself a favor and cut up your credit cards into little strips and mail them back to Synchony bank with a your last payment on the credit card This is my plain of actionOH- dont forget to pay the service fee that will be tacked on to your last payment
