Deceptive Billing Practices
Deceptive billing. My company has no account with them and they sent me a fraudulent bill. Sunshine Biz Services, Inc sent me an authentic looking bill for $180.00 for yearly internet hosting. This is a scam. Within the body of the bill is this sentence "This is a solicitation for the order of goods or services, or both, and not a bill, invoice or statement of account due." AS IF THAT MAKES IT OK TO SEND OUT A STATEMENT THAT LOOKS LIKE EVERY BILL STATEMENT ONE RECEIVES.
We are required to pay a yearly renewal with Sun Biz for our small business license, but this Sunshine Biz Services is entirely different and is counting on AP departments to overlook the difference and just pay the authentic looking statement. Shameful. They must be stopped.

Desired Outcome

Immediately cease with deceptive billing practices.

Sunshine Biz Services Response • Sep 13, 2018

You received, as distinguished correctly, not an invoice, but a solicitation per the bold font in the center of the solicitation. Please re-read the solicitation again to confirm this. It is extremely clear and conspicuous.
Our apologies that you felt the need to reach out to the Revdex.com rather than contacting us directly, so we could have explained our services and products to you in detail.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for additional questions you might have.
Thank you and Best Regards

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Even though I accept this explanation, the solicitation that very closely resembles an invoice is misleading and should be changed.

I received a mailing that was clearly an attempt to scam a company into believing that they have an existing relationship with Sunshine Biz, even going as far as presenting a bogus account number.
Its not until you read way down into the verbiage that they inform and make any distinction about who they are. REALLY shady behavior.

Sunshine Biz Services Response • Aug 17, 2018

Mr.The mailing you received was a solicitation as clearly outlined per the bold font of the letter (clearly visible). We suggest you re-read the solicitation again to confirm this.Your allegations concerning our intent, we deem meaningless and frivolous, because they're simply incorrect. Your complaint fails to mention that privatization of web hosting and renewals allows customers the choice of web hosting providers when initially establishing a website and when renewing web hosting. Web hosting customers are not obligated to renew their web hosting with their current provider or with Sunshine Biz Services. We, therefore, suggest you familiarize yourself with our services and contact us, so we may have a meaningful and professional dialogue.

Received what looked like an invoice in the mail today. Terrible marketing practices. Sends marketing materials disguised as an invoice. The hosting fees they are requesting seem extremely high. Don't fall for this.

Sunshine Biz Services Response • Jul 03, 2018

Ms.You received not an invoice, but a solicitation as per the bold font of the solicitation (clearly visible). Mailing of solicitations is not an uncommon marketing practice. We strongly advise to review our solicitation again (actually read it). Privatization of web hosting and renewals allows customers the choice of web hosting providers when initially establishing a website and when renewing web hosting. Web hosting customers are not obligated to renew their web hosting with their current provider or with Sunshine Biz Services. if you would have engaged in a MEANINGFUL and PROFESSIONAL DIALOGUE with us directly (our contact details are clearly outlined as well), instead of your unsubstantiated allegations, we are certain you would be one of our satisfied clients now.

We received a mail solicitation disguised as an invoice for web hosting. Clearly the intent of the solicitation was to fool our AP department.
Sunshine Biz Services, by U.S. Mail, sent us what appears on face value to be an invoice for web hosting services. We do not have web hosting with Sunshine Biz Services. Despite the bold, capitalized disclaimer contained in the letter, the clear intent of this mail piece is to mislead in the hopes that the modest sum billed will simply be paid.

Desired Outcome

Revdex.com to review this mail campaign by Sunshine Biz Services. If Revdex.com assessment is similar to mine I would like the Revdex.com to ask the business to cease such solicitations.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)I'll accept the response only because I've decided that anyone who would fall for this type of sales approach deserves what they get. The sender probably thinks its clever advertising on their part. I think its deceitful advertising. We'll leave it at that.

This company uses immoral marketing techniques with the intention of tricking customers unfamiliar with their services to pay an invoice for services already rendered.

They can respond to each allegation, over and over again, with a boiler plate "the bold text in the middle of the documents says it's a solicitation", but this company is entirely aware that this declaration is strategically buried within an enormous paragraph, designed such that the confused recipient doesn't see it or acknowledge it.

The entire document is made to look indistinguishable from a standard invoice, with requests for "billing address changes" and terminology like "Balance" and "Amount Due" all over the document.

The services being offered may indeed be legitimate, but the method in which this company attacks its target "customers" is deceitful, immoral, and shameful.

Mr. you received not an invoice, but a solicitation as per the bold font in the center of the solicitation. We suggest you re-read the solicitation again to confirm this. It was extremely clear and conspicuous. It is our policy to not engage in your type of unprofessional and unqualified correspondence, since your intentions are quite clear. Nevertheless, you may contact us for a meaningful and professional dialogue, to familiarize yourself with our first-rate products and services.

Fraud they are trying to steal business from other hosting companies they send this to the owner of the business thinking that they are naive and dont know what company is hosting there website once you sign up for their service they dont even bother to explain that you have to move your website into onto their server or anything they are probably collecting payments from 1000s of people that are receiving absolutely nothing for their money and they make no effort to tell them leaving it up to them to figure it out for themselves. They can say that it is obvious that this is a solicitation but I see people complaining about it being fraud and they have made no attempt to make it clear and have no intention of changing, they are going to keep right on collecting from unaware people for hosting service that they are not providing until the client figures it out and they offer no refunds. At some point the feds are going to step and audit them and send them all to prison I would say within the next 6 months

Company sends invoices for services that have not been ordered or approved.
2/16/2018. We received an invoice from Sunshine Biz Services, INC. This invoice is for $180.00 for "Yearly web hosting". Included in the description is a website that has nothing to do with our type of business (Plumbing). http://waterheaterrepairrenonv.com/
The invoice is for services we did not authorize nor did we approve. This is obviously a scam sent to larger companies with an accounts payable division that may pay bills without knowing what they are.

Desired Outcome

I would like this scam to stop.

You received not an invoice, but a solicitation as per the bold font in the center of the solicitation. We strongly suggest you re-read the solicitation again to confirm this. It was extremely clear and conspicuous.Furthermore, and instead of concluding this as just another scam, which invalidates your review and proves your unprofessionalism, you should have familiarized yourself with our products and services at www.trendywebsolutions.com (also clearly outlined).Nevertheless, should you need any further information, do not hesitate to contact us directly (also clearly outlined).

FRAUDSTERS! I received what looked like an invoice for "yearly web hosting" with my business URL from Sunshine Biz Services. My accounts payable person was confused by the wording and knew that we had already paid our yearly web hosting. In this case, the bogus invoice was sent via snail mail, just like a regular invoice - complete with a perforated payment stub. The invoice was a renewal notice for "Yearly Website Hosting" in the amount of $180.00, payable to Sunshine Biz Services, Inc.

At first glance, it looks like a legitimate bill, complete with account number, due date and payment options. Upon further inspection, the form states in bold type, albeit buried in the fourth bullet point of the text-heavy message section: "This is a solicitation for the order of goods or services, or both, and not a bill, invoice, or statement of account due."

Obviously these fraudsters are counting on the fact that many people don't read the fine print or all of the technical details. Their business relies on deceiving people into transferring their domain name without first reading the entire invoice.

What makes this scam so dangerous is that it's an attempt to trick you into migrating your actual registered domain to their services from your current registrar. In other words, if you do pay the bill, your domain name could be transferred to the fraudsters and then you will be on the hook for future charges.

DO NOT TRUST Sunshine Biz Services.

Fraudulent billing. My company has no account with them and they sent me a fake bill for $180.00

They are obviously marketing to the elderly in this slimy fashion. I want them to stop sending phony bills to everyone but especially those who may not be able to distinguish a clever fraud from a real owed bill.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)They erronieously state that it is "clear and conspicuous" that it is a solicitation. It isn't at all clear and conspicuous! Their email format EXACTLY MATCHES STANDARD INVOICES.

Complete SCAM!!! Is this how you try to get customers by thinking they owe you? I would never, ever do business with company! Get a new marketing idea! Is!!

Complete scam. Please read the article below. This company sends out legitimate looking invoices and try to scare you into paying it. If you do, you just moved your website to their hosting service. I'm sure they are hoping to find enough stupid small business owners who don't read the fine print and just pay it. They rely on volume and stupidity to prosper.

Sent me invoice for hosting web site. They did have "This is a solicitation...." However, they send it with due date & presented like an invoice
This company sends out invoice with due date to scam you into thinking you do business with them to host your web site. This is an underhanded way of acquiring new clients. They should stop presenting like this.

Desired Outcome

no further contact or mailings

Customer Response

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)This is a practice that should be changed. There should not be a bill attached. Unsuspecting admins might assume this is a bill and pay since it says it is a website. I would rather you make it a solicitation in pure form and ask for my business. It is similar to phone calls where they ask if you are ready to restock your point of sale terminal. An unsuspecting staff member might say if we need them send them.

Scam invoices
Lake Havasu City Convention & Visitors Bureau is a non-profit destination management organization which promotes the city and the businesses of its tax-paying stakeholders - hotels, restaurants and bars. One of our services is our website GoLakeHavasu.com, in which we offer hotel and restaurant listings. There is no charge for this as our organization is funded by their taxes. At least two of our stakeholders, Sunset Grill & Lounge & Red Onion restaurant have received invoices from Sunshine Biz Services requesting payment for Yearly Web Hosting on our old, defunct website. The invoices have links to the page and the page has no content, as it has been non-functional for over a year. These fraudulent invoices create additional work for my staff in reassuring our clients, but also erodes the trust between my organization and its stakeholders, in those who do not choose to make us aware or, worse, those that pay the invoice.

Desired Outcome

I want Sunshine Biz Services to refrain from contacting and attempting to defraud my stakeholders.

Fraudulent bill send as "advertising". They claim it's an offer for service but is made to look like an overdue bill.
Received a bill on August 2nd, due August 1st for yearly web hosting for my domain www.teaandchi.com Request for a check to Sunshine Biz for $180 or enroll for paperless billing at www.trendywebsolutions.com
Somewhere in the body of the text, after being told you can avoid receiving paper invoices by signing up for paperless payments and that hosting our website with the will ensure it remains active, there is a line explaining that this is a solicitation for the order of goods or services and not a bill.
This is deceptive and should not be allowed.

Desired Outcome

This business should not be allowed to send out solicitations disguised as bills.

Sunshine Biz Services Response

With regard to ***' complaint, we are not quite sure the reasoning behind her complaint. She received a solicitation offer for web hosting, but declined our offer and purchase, as our records do not indicate any payment from Ms.. Furthermore, we do not have any records of her ever contacting us either via phone or Email to discuss her concerns. We have, therefore, closed this case. Please do not hesitate to contact us, if we can be of further assistance. Thank you and Best Regards
