Sunlight Contractors Reviews (%countItem)

For years, our termite contractor warned us about all of the old insulation in our crawl space that had been drooping and touching the ground. In crawling under the house myself to inspect and make a plumbing repair, I noticed that the wood on the subfloor and joists just looked wet. I could never find anyone willing to climb under the house to clean it up, so it sat like that for years. This year, I had to decide on a new termite contractor, but they refused to work with us until it was cleaned up. I hear so much about spray foam, so I decided to look it up. Sunlight Contractors had great reviews, so I decided to give them a call. Ira answered the call on a Saturday, and was eager for me to take moisture readings, so he could get an idea of the scope of the work. Unfortunately, the wood showed 23% moisture in some areas, with some visible mold growth, so it needed to be dried and cleaned before being sprayed. Ira sent Clayton out at my earliest convenience, and quoted me the same day. After a few discussions about treating the wood, I approved the work, and again, Clayton was out to get started the very next day. The crew came out, cleared all of the debris, laid a new moisture barrier and started the drying and remediation process. Ira communicated with me every day, even sending videos, photos, and moisture readings, which are now under 10%. They were never late, and never cancelled. The crawl space looks almost new now, and I can't wait for it to finish drying and have the foam installed. Thank you Sunlight, your 5 star rating is well deserved!

Moisture remediation is an art. When remediated correctly you will never have moisture problems again.
Sunlight Contractors will guarantee once our projects are completed that there will never be moisture from the crawl space again.

My husband and I recently purchased a raised home. During the winter we experienced cold floors and high energy bills due to the subfloor not being insulated. We did research and learned spray foam would be the most effective insulation solution. Because it was a big project, we requested quotes from several companies. Sunlight Contractors was way better than any other company we talked to for several reasons. Ira, on the first phone call was very helpful and knowledgeable. Clayton came out and inspected our subfloor the very next day. He discovered very high and problematic moisture levels in our subfloor. I knew this was a serious issue because the previous owners disclosed they had mold removed prior to selling the home. Clayton and Ira explained the process Sunlight Contractors would use to eliminate the moisture, insulate the home, and guarantee we would never have a moisture problem again. No other company was able to make such a promise or provide a method to eliminate moisture, making it a no brainer to choose Sunlight Contractors. Everything was put in writing. When work began, the crew was on time or early every day. By far some of the best service from a contractor we ever recieved. We recommend Sunlight Contractors for all moisture remediation and spray foam insulation needs.

After having a full winter of cold floors and high energy bills in my newly purchased house I decided enough was enough and to get spray foam insulation. I contacted several companies for quotes. Sunlight Comtractors won my business for several reasons. They were very prompt in coming out to assess my home. When they came out for an estimate, Clayton discovered very high moisture levels under my home that needed to be remedied before spray foam could be applied. Clayton and Ira both explained and put in writing the approach that would be taken both to eliminate the moisture and insulate the subfloor. They promised I would never have a moisture problem again None of the other companies that I received quotes from had a legitimate method to solve the moisture problem. On top of that, Sunlight Contractors beat all of their insulation quotes. When it was time to start work, the crew was their well before the scheduled time ready to get started. I highly recommend Sunlight Contractors for their expertise and professionalism.

Sunlight Contractors did a great job on two of my properties. The team was very punctual and called to check in many times. I owned a lawn service for years, so I know the value of keeping in touch with your clients, and Sunlight did just that. I was never left wondering what the next step was. There was hardly any smell and the job was completed very quickly after my first call! I will definitely be back to do further insulation on my other properties.

Mr. Ira and his team was a pleasure to work with. We had project on a older home where moisture was coming up through the floors and making the cup up. They got under the house and sandblasted the old insulation off, dried the floors down to under 10% moisture & then sprayed the floors with closed cell insulation. With in 1 week the floors were back to normal and the customer is happy.

Coming from a builder we take this as a knowledgeable compliment.
Anyone who has a raised pier and beam constructed home should protect it by spraying closed cell spray foam in a monolithic seal. If you don't protect it now chances are highly likely that one day there will be moisture, mold, termites or powder post beetle problems. Why not protect your investment now before the problem gets out of hand.
Thank you Kenneth for your trust and confidence in Sunlight Contractors

Sunlight was.very professional, they showed up on time, were very thorough and the product is as good as advertised, it has made a tremendous difference in the floor temperatures in my house, they actually came and did a followup inspection to make sure everything was good

Thank you ***. Follow up inspections are the key to our success. So many companies will miss spray foamed spots and never come back to independently inspect. Sunlight does just that. That's why all our customers are very happy.

In the beginning of September I had the spray foam installed in my attic and just the energy charge (does not include the fuel charge and everything else) was $199.35 and October's energy charge was $88.73. That is a SAVINGS of $110.62!!!! I highly recommend Sunlight Contractors and I don't regret having it done. It is so worth it.

I contacted Sunlight Contractors after I moved to SE Louisiana in May of 2019. The house we bought had an uninsulated crawl space, no vapor barrier and limited ventilation. We replaced 40 floor joists as well as large portions of the subfloor. I wanted those repairs to last which led me to spray foam and Sunlight Contractors.

I contacted several other companies who do this work but chose Sunlight for several reasons. First, they are incredibly responsive. They actually answer the phone when you call and they call back when needed. It has been frustrating dealing with other contractors who don't answer when called and don't return messages. Secondly, they actually have a schedule and will work with you to meet at an agreeable time. I had scheduled an evaluation with them and the evening before we were supposed to meet they called and asked if we could push the appointment back a couple of hours. It worked for me and I appreciated the call in advance. Lastly, service is clearly a priority with them. Every person I have dealt with during the process has been polite and respectful. They go out of their way to educate customers about the process and the product received. The project is not quite finished but to this point I am quite impressed and happy. Once it is finished and I have had a chance to evaluate everything I'll write a detailed review of the outcome.

My rental property had developed mold in the HVAC ducting, causing the tenants to feel ill. Ira and his crew to the rescue! They cleaned and sterilized the ducts, the vent grilles, and removed the old insulation, replacing with new. Viola! Fresh air, healthy tenants and a cleaner home. Thank you Sunlight Contractors!

Thank you ***.
Most homeowners don't realize that they are breathing in from their attics dirty air that is captured over the decades from their old dirty batt insulation. If you turn it over and look how filthy it is you will be startled.
*** had her problems corrected. For the sake of your health you should too.

I purchased a home in February of 2018 and had a leaking cast iron pipe run water under my house for a few months before I started having issues in my kitchen. I completely rebuilt my kitchen but unfortunately no one at the time mentioned that I needed to do anything under the house. Fast forward a year and the floors in my living room started to buckle.
A friend researched the best options and we ended up calling Ira with Sunlight Contractors.
This company is beyond professional. They were always on time and always provided updates on where they were in the repair process. Ira recommended that we dry the underside of the house and then apply a closed-cell foam to avoid any future issues.
We are beyond pleased with the job that Sunlight Contractors did with our job. I can already tell a difference of the noise level in the house and we haven't even replaced the floors yet.
I highly recommend using Ira and Sunlight Contractors for your moisture issues under a pier house.

Sunlight specializes in moisture remediation. Give us a call an we can schedule an appointment.
Thank you Heidi for your trust and confidence.

A few weeks ago, my wife and I realized that we were having some buckling issues with the hardwood floors in our house. I knew that the house had crawlspace moisture issues in the past, and decided to have someone come out and have a look. Sunlight Contractors was my first call based on the strength of their online ratings and user reviews. I called them late one afternoon and one of their guys, Clayton, was out the next morning. Clayton went under the house and took moisture readings and found high levels of moisture in my crawlspace. He called the owner, Ira, on the phone and they both described to me what would be required to truly solve the problem: drying out the moist wood with a large indirect heater and spraying closed cell foam insulation once the drying was complete. They had a detailed quote out to me that same afternoon. Of course, I got a second opinion, and it became immediately apparent that no other company I spoke with had such a strong grasp on the fundamental problem, nor did they have such a thorough plan for a solution. It was clear that Sunlight was the right choice.

Once they started the job, Ira and crew were in frequent contact with me, letting me know when they'd be coming by, sending me pictures of the moisture readings underneath the crawlspace, and just generally keeping me up to date with how things were progressing. All in all, the job took about a week and I'm very happy with the job that Sunlight performed. It's a huge relief to know that the underside of our house is properly insulated and protected from moisture. I'd recommend Sunlight without reservation to anyone that needs this kind of work done.

Moisture problems in Louisiana's hot humid climate is one of the biggest problems in crawl spaces.. Not only do your floors start to buckle, swell or cup, they also attract termites, powder-post beetles, and mold. Rotting floor joists, rotting beams, and rotting wood members are other problems that can occur from moisture issues in your crawlspace. Your floor is not the only thing in danger of being destroyed, moisture can also ruin your foundation, and completely disrupt your financial situation.
None of these things need to happen. You shouldn't have to fall through your floor to start remediating the problem. Thank You Will for being a savvy homeowner and taking the appropriate steps to remediating the moisture in your home. Thank you for your confidence in Sunlight Contractors

Sunlight Contractors did a great job! They were very responsive. They came right out after we asked for a quote, which we got back from them that afternoon. After we checked around and felt like they had the best price for the right work, we called them, and they came out the next day to get started. They were punctual over the next few days as they came out and completed the work. I would highly recommend them and would certainly use them in the future if needed.

I recently had my attic sprayed by Sunlight contractors and the decision and investment was the best I have made in my 37yrs of existence.

Ira was more than informative he helped me and made me feel comfortable about my decision the entire time foam spraying can be scary but talking with a professional such as Ira he makes you feel confident. I was provided all the details and was given documentation for all of my doubts.

Corey and his team showed up promptly and did a fantastic job also explaining every step of the way. I would recommend Sunlight contractors over any one any day of the week. My home is maintaining its temperature and my units are actually shutting off now during the day. Thanks again Ira and Corey.

Thanks ***
It was a pleasure working with you and all of us at Sunlight Contractors try so hard to make sure each and every customer is 100% satisfied.

Communication is always important with any company doing work for you. Ira does an outstanding job with communication and everyone of his employees has been on time since the start of our project. His 5 star reviews across the web gave me the confidence that I chose the right company for my mobile home's sub floor moisture remediation and insulation needs. My home is 12 years old and in that time has been through a move, house fire, and flood. It was never put back together 100% and this has led to extremely high moisture levels in our sub floor, >50%. Ira has a proven method to get the moisture content down and to seal out moisture and insulate in a one stop shop. We have stayed on budget even when some rotted wood was found. He was quick to have his guys take care of it. Our floors are currently being dried out and we look forward to our completed project.

Communication is Sunlight Contractors middle name. When a homeowner has high moisture in their creal space it leads to Mold, Termites, Rotting floor joist, Beams, Powder post beetles and possibly which in many cases a compromised pier and beam foundation.
A word to the smart is, Always check the moisture in your crawl space and get advise from professionals who have a proven track record.

I had another foam company foam my attic and it was a nightmare. I had a gassing off problem and contacted Ira with Sunlight for advice. He spent 45 minutes on the phone with me on the first call telling me my potential problems and solutions I hired him to put ventilating fans in my attic to help with smell and he is still advising me on a daily basis for no charge. I wish I had used their services the first time as I'm sure I wouldn't be having these problems.
Anyone considering foaming their attic better contact Ira and his professional company !

We have fixed countless jobs by other shoddy contractors and just contractors not experienced with a spray foamed energy envelope
When changing your homes energy envelope door blower testing before and after and performing ASHREA 62.2 testing is of the utmost importance. While spray foaming ventilation requirements are different depending on how tight you home or business is. Also if you are doing business with a company that doesn't have complete transparency, buyer beware!!!. So many shoddy companies will condense different foams into one drum or spray foam that is old. They spray off Ratio and that's where some of the problems that Rich encountered came from. Infer red imaging before and after is a must especially to find out if the spray foam installers did the project properly.

Our advice always is only do business with Louisiana State License Board of Contractor, (LSLBC) state licensed contractors. When it comes to the insulation field you can also go on line to Bpi.org and look for Gold Star energy contractors in your area.

It was a great experience working with Sunlight. They were very communicative and prompt. The work exceeded my expectations.

great experience with this company! very satisfied We recently had spray foam applied to our attic. We have a single story home with two a/c units. In the summer, the west side of our home was always hot and uncomfortable. We would set the thermostat at 73 degrees and temperatures in the west-facing kitchen would rise to 78 degrees and stay there from around 3 pm until around 8:30 pm. Also, the a/c serving the kitchen side of the house would run constantly from noon until late evening.

We called our a/c installer thinking the unit was bad. After checking everything, the a/c was fine. It just couldn't keep up with the heat loss we were experiencing.

After the spray foam was applied, we can now keep the thermostat on 72 degrees and the temperature on the west side never moves above 72. Same is true for the rest of the house and it is much more comfortable, less humid and quieter.

It appears that both a/c units are running half as much as before. We haven't received an electric bill since installing the spray foam, but we expect to see a reduction, just in time for the hottest part of the summer in south Louisiana.

Ira and all of his employees were very professional and reliable. They didn't hesitate to answer questions and were very friendly.

Thanks to Sunlight Contractors for a job well done!

Ira and his team are very professional. I would recommend Sunlight to anyone considering putting Spray foam insulation. Insulation made a significant improvement on the interior temperature of the house. Corey explained everything they were going to be doing before they started. I have used Sunlight twice now and will be sure to call them again to insulate the next house I purchase.

Sunlight Contractors has done some outstanding work at my house. They spray foamed my attic and installed a Solar Hot Water System. Both projects were done exceptional. Dealing with 1 company is easy --- I recently had hail damage to my roof which required a new roof. Naturally you have to remove the solar panel before the installation of a new roof. Scheduling with 2 companies can be a trying affair. But I have to say both worked together and came up with the best time for all of us. Sunlight Contractors came out removed the panel made sure that I still had hot water in the house, the roofers came out and installed the new roof. I had to go out of town but still they kept in contact with me to find out when I would be available for the reinstall. Sunlight Contractors are very busy, but they made scheduling easy, they sent the team out who are just an amazing group of friendly professionals, reinstalled the panel of tubes in this horrific heat. Serviced the entire system...I know they were happy in the nice comfortable attic which they spray foamed several years before. I highly recommend Sunlight Contractors. These guys are A++++ truly amazing. https://www.sunlightcontractors.com/ You cannot ask for a better company to work with! Thank you so very much!

Great service. Walked me through all the steps, took the time to explain things to me and made sure I was comfortable and satisfied.
