TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE- have had multiple issues checking in, usually because their app malfunctions, and then have to deal with "misuse fees" in order to use it againI pay $a month to see a movie a day and so far, have only been able to see one movie this month without any issues checking inWhen explaining why I didn't check in for a couple movies this month, I was completely ignored by customer service, charged fees, and didn't get any response until I tweeted at them multiple times, sent over emails, and DMs on Twitter, once they responded they said they would look into my account, but then disappeared againI am leaving this review because I was physically at the theater last night and tried to check in multiple times, but was told I was too far from the theater to do soI immediately sent an email to support well within the allotted time to check in, attaching an image of my ticket stub to prove that I had purchased the ticket, and received no response
Since it looks as though someone from this company is at least responding to public call outs and reviews i'm trying this hereREMOVE THIS MISUSE FEEI am happy to pay these fees when I legitimately do forget to check in, but will not pay for something for which I am not responsible

I am seeking a refund of $for a movie ticket after the Sinemia payment for it was repeatedly denied / rejected and I had to pay out of pocket
I signed on as a customer with Sinemia with the understanding that I would be able to see movies that they would pay for each monthThis Wednesday, I was unable to purchase a movie ticket through the Sinemia app for a movie that appeared on their app - Creed at *** in Brooklyn - both approved for use with SinemiaI had to purchase the ticket on my own CC, and request a refund of $(ticket price plus ticket purchasing site fee and Fandango fee), but was my request was rejected
What happened was - my wife used her Sinemia app and mine to get tickets to the movie on Saturday 11/at 7:30pm, seat She first purchased her ticket (with a Sinemia approved / app credit card number) through Fandango successfullyShe then attempted to use my Sinemia app to purchase a ticket for me (seat 519) to the same showMy payment
I signed up for the monthly service, but ended up being charged hundreds of dollars for a full yearI immediately tried to reach out to customer service through multiple emails to fix the error and did not receive any responsesThe company is very quick to take your money, but will not respond to customer service emails to fix an error on their behalf

The Sinemia website has deceptively designed homepageI accidentally signed up for a 9.99/ month plan BILLED YEARLYThey will not grant me a refund
On the evening of 9/28/2018, at the behest of my girlfriend, I went to the Sinemia website and decided to sign up for a 9.99/month plan to get three movie tickets a monthI was not given an invoice, nor given a chance to approve the charge amount for my card, so I assumed that I would be charged plus applicable taxes and fees
Moments after signing up, I received a fraud alert from my credit union, saying that I had been charged $(I was billed for a full YEAR)I tried to stop the charge through them, and also tried to correct the mistake on Sinemia, to no availI sent a message to Sinemia customer service asking them to change my plan to the a month, billed MONTHLYNo response
I looked back at their website, and saw why it was so easy to make the mistakeThe button I clicked did indeed say "9.99/ per month"

More issues Their app requires check in (seemingly to make the process more cumbersome so that there will be issues and you will get stuck with the bill)The stupid check in process never worked, I submitted a ticket the second time because I knew exactly what they had done, but they never responded to my ticket (Not the first time, they do not care AT ALL)What they did was put the wrong date on the movie (Mirai) so you ***'t check in on that date and it was pretty clear as dayThe app said Nov 30th, but the poster THAT THEY WERE USING and the actual movie date were completely different (Nov 29th)This would be an easy issue to clear up with any other company, but these guys are lazy, unresponsive, and for some reason feel that they are doing nothing wrong when it is clear that they areThis is no way to run a company or treat customers and the fact that some people are too dumb to realize it doesn't make it okayI only ended up losing about a movie tickets worth of money with this service (missed check-ins and they suspend you), but I am definitely not sticking around to try and get ahead because they will just add another fee to charge me and cover themselves
I feel the marketing is deceptive....they require you to use online ticket sellers (with fees) AND then SInemia charges you an additional (per ticket) for using their "cardless" system (which you have no choice but to use....I wish I could get a refund

There are countless disgruntled customers who also had their accounts suddenly banned under untruthful circumstances
Even after months of back and forth only through email and Twitter (only contact source) they have not answered my question as to how my credit card was charged for a physical card but not for the supposed failed check in

Misleading advertising, lousy customer service
Physical card presented as optional, but once subscribed, there is no way to request one
No activation fee advertised, but once subscribed, "accelerate cardless activation" fee of $required or you must wait weeks to use the serviceThis is extortion
Non-existant customer service
Frandulent advertising and policiesSinemia advertises being able to use their service "...at any theater, for any movie..." (sinemia.com) and "Go to any movie theater you want..."
However, they have added fees to my account for not using theaters of their choosing
Apparently the only way to get a response from customer service is to file a complaint with the Revdex.comThat pretty much sums up how horribly this company is being run
First off, over the summer when Movie Pass *** their terms of service on me and gave me the opportunity for a refund of the remainder of my year's subscription, I decided to check out Sinemia to see if the plan was betterWhat the advertised was basically the same price for the same amount of movies as movie pass, but they had more theaters and said I could purchase tickets via their credit card or digitallyIt said the credit card would take weeks and I wouldn't be charged until it was activeBut apparently they stopped doing credit cards between the time I signed up and the time they activated my account, but they didn't tell meThen I find out I have to pay the service fee from the ticket vendor every time I want to see a movie, and I ***'t avoid it because I don't have a cardSo this now makes Sinemia more expensive than Moviepass *** the same amount of movies
When I contacted to ask about how long the card would be, I got no response over monthsThen they sent out a newsletter telling customers that they would start doing physical cards again, which was news to me that they ever stopped, because it was advertised to me before I signed up
The app also has issuesIt freezes and crashesIt's so graphic intensive too that if you're in a place with poor reception LIKE A MOVIE THEATER, it makes it a bit hard to check in on their appAnd if you don't check in on their app in the 1/window of time before or after the movie has started (which no one should be doing so really you only have a minute window to remember to check in) Movie pass *** charge you a fee for the full cost of the ticket and if you don't pay they lock your accountAnd since their customer service is non existent, you ***'t call and explain the issue and sort it out, they just extort you for more money
By the way, if you're expecting the app to remind you to check in during that window, it doesn'tYes they know what time your show time is, and yes they could remind you to check in during that window, but they don't, they only remind you when you purchase your ticket in advance, in a place and time where you ***'t check in yet
I get the check in thing, and I'm happy to do it, but you ***'t expect people who are out with friends, in a parking garage/mall with terrible cell service or rushing to make it to the theater before the movie starts to always check in during that minute period
Since customer service is non existent, I guess my only option is to have my credit card dispute the charges since Sinemia wants their customers to constantly forgive all their mistakes but will fine you for not checking inHonestly I'd rather just go back to buying my movie tickets rather than dealing with this
