Our records indicate that on April 14, 2016 you made a purchase in the total amount of $9,023.32. An additional purchase was made on April 28, 2016 in the amount of $463.29. Both purchases were made with a No Interest if Paid in Full in 12 months promotional offer. Unfortunately, you did...
not pay the promotional balances in full in time. An outstanding balance of $307.29 remained on your account as of May 9, 2017. Thus, on June 14, 2017, your account was charged accrued and monthly billed interest totaling $1,918.57. Furthermore, we received your initial written concern on November 10, 2017. Unfortunately, we attempted to contact you however were unsuccessful. Nonetheless, as a courtesy, we are waiving $648.98 worth of interest charges. This change will be reflected on your next billing statement.
We have researched your concerns. You made two purchases. The first purchase for $1,761.28 was made on April 16, 2016 at 5:32 PM on a 0% APR with 48 Equal Monthly Payments offer. The second purchase for $732.75 was made on April 16, 2016 at 6:38 PM on a Deferred Interest with Standard Monthly...
payments: No Interest if Paid in Full in 12 months offer. Please find receipts enclosed for your records.Based upon our online account management records, you made one-time payments on May 14, July 8, and August 7, 2016. Then, as of August 7, 2016, you set up automatic recurring payments for the minimum payment amount. It was not set up for more than the minimum payment amount. See an enclosed copy of your recurring payment setup status. Additionally, we did not receive any payments in excess of your minimum payments prior to the expiration of your 12 month special financing. As noted on your account statements, your second purchase was required to be paid in full by May 8, 2017 to avoid accrued interest from the transaction date. Your statement and your sales financing receipt also stated that making only the minimum payments would not pay off the balance in time. Thus, your deferred interest purchase was not paid in full prior to the expiration of the special financing period, and we charged the accrued interest. Please note, we have received your payments of $649.22 and $39.00 on July 19 and 20, 2017, respectively. Based on these payments, the balance and interest from your original 12 month purchase has been repaid. Your account currently has a remaining balance of $987.81 and this balance is on the 0% APR special financing terms, which is not subject to deferred interest.
We advised the customer our records indicate enrollment for online statements. Also advised we did not receive payment due by June 11, 2017. Therefore in accordance with the cardholder agreement, a late fee was charged. However, as a courtesy, we credited the account $37 for the late fee.
I have talked with their customer service department several times. They are extremely unhelpful, and even have been...
vulgar on one call. In my last letter to them, I requested they respond to me in writing. I have requested they do this because after multiple calls to their customer service department, they could not explain to me why they are charging me late fees, and fines, then fines on late fees, and fees on original fees. Adhesion of Contract issues abound with my claim against them, as do breaches in the Truth in Lending law(s) both federal and state. As I have told them in writing previously, I will only deal with this firm in certified written correspondence, as they are not to be trusted verbally (think Wells Fargo).
