Rumpke Waste & Recycling

We put our trash at the curb on Tuesday evening as usual. Rumpke did not take the trash, although they took the recycling. When I called on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, we were told that they would not come back out until next Wednesday, stating that our trash was not at the curb when they came back out on Thursday. They took a photo to “prove” that our trash can was not out, but the photo cuts off the part of the yard where the trash can was placed. Our trash was left at curb all week. And we have a photo showing where the trash can was. We don’t appreciate being called liars. We just wanted our trash picked up.

Our business has contracted with Rumpke since we opened for business in 2005. We have had no complaints until today. As a business, we generate some skid & wood scrap materials as do all businesses that receive goods on pallets. Breaking up the skids and putting them in the dumpster had never been an issue in the past 13 years, but today the pick up was refused due to new Rumpke safety policies. Our driver go out of his vehicle took a picture of the trash through the side window and left without saying why. After calling Rumpke, to find out what happened they said they had a new safety policy to protect the drivers & equipment in place so they are no longer accepting solid wood materials. My thoughts on this are that's fantastic! As a business manager, I'm all for making the job safer for everyone involved. The problem I have is that our contract with Rumpke does not specify "no solid wood materials" and Rumpke never took the time to inform their customers of the change in policy, before refusing the pick up. Now, as a result, I have to make sure my employees are not put in harms way by having to dig the materials out of the dumpster that Rumpke failed to inform us about.

Have been using RUMPKE for over 15 years. Pay them for 3 months at a time as their contract requires.
For the last few months they are not picking up our trash on Wednesdays as agreed upon in the contract. Each time I call them and they have an excuse every time. A manager called and left a voicemail a few weeks ago and said that he would send someone to pick it up...NEVER happened. Also stated that he would have the driver call him FROM OUR HOUSE WHEN HE PICKED UP THE TRASH so that he could be sure that it was getting done. Tells me they are well aware of the problem.
Yesterday on our scheduled pick up date they did not come again. I called and spoke with a lady that said she was going to contact a driver in my area and have him swing by and pick it up. He did NOT. Today when I get home from work, the trash is still sitting there, soaked. I called again and was told this time that they would get it next week. I am not paying for bi ot tri weekly trash pick up or whenever they feel like it. That is not what we signed up for. I asked for a refund for the past three months as they have caused a great deal of frustration and alot of my time basically pleading with them to fulfill their end of the contract. They refused. I told them I would be contacting the Revdex.com.
In the past when I have called they tell me the driver said the trash was not out, however we put it out the night before and its there when I leave for work in the morning long before they are supposed to arrive and it's there when I return in the afternoon. I've had them go so far as to insinuate that they picked up my trash and possibly a neighbor put their trash there. We live on a dead end road and my husband works from home. Not even a possibility.
I want a refund for the past 3 months. I am paid up until the end of January and want to use a different company. They have not held up their end of the deal and it is getting much worse.
