Rumpke has extremely poor communications both with customers and between their internal departments. They have missed many trash & recycle pickups at my address. They have also repeatedly left my trash and recycle containers in the middle of my driveway, blocking access from the rural road and forcing me to park at a neighbors driveway and walk to my own driveway to remove the cans. I have almost been rear ended by cars thinking I was pulling into my driveway when instead I had to stop due to the cans blocking my access. I have called more times than I can count to ask why they took everyone the trash of everyone else but drove right by my house without stopping. I've had many weeks like this one where they didn't pick up trash on Friday so I called multiple times through the week where they promise to come back in a day or two... But they do not show up at all, leaving me with more trash than will fit in the container. I was able months ago to get through to a supervisor over the entire program. He called and seemed genuinely concerned and for a short while after talking with him, Rumpke took my garbage regularly. However they still could not be bothered to leave the driveway unblocked and would leave the cans standing in the middle or lying on their side or even in the ditch. I called that supervisor multiple times this week and left messages but never heard back. I also left messages with the "Missed Trash Pickup" folks and, as always, promises were made and broken. I have made so many calls that I feel I should be receiving a salary. What I hear is the same thing... "We're sorry" and "Someone will be out in a day or two", "It is MY responsibility to call when they don't take my trash or recycle and they cannot put a proactive plan in place to alleviate this need".... I do not believe they want to fix this problems. If this does not change, I will petition the city not to contract with this company in the future or I will campaign to elect different officials to make better decisions on our behalf. The problem is ongoing and with I continually see people saying they say they will fix the issues but continue to miss trash pickups. I'm not sure how they can achieve anything besides an F rating, unless they choose to fix issues only raised on the Revdex.com website and leave those who contact them directly out to dry. Their actions have cause me to be put in direct danger of being hit by traffic travelling at 45 mph or more. That, by itself, goes beyond poor service! The have poor customer communications, broken promises and weeks without service. I have not heard any concern from Rumpke employees I've spoken to for my well being when they hear of my driveway being blocked and almost being hit by cars as I try to pull into my driveway but am forced at the last second to drive further up the road to a neighbors driveway until I can clear a path for my car by hand. I have not seen any action on their part to curb the behavior of blocking my driveway. It is unfortunate that my complaints fall on deaf ears.
Leaving garbage out in the sun beside a busy road is indeed a health issue, among other things. I’ve been signed up for Rumpke’s trash pick up service since February. I’ve been missed more than 6 times since my service was supposedly started. I’ve have had to call and wait an additional day each time my trash is missed. I rent the company owned trash hauler, so there should be no excuses like they didn’t see it or it was not an approved trash container. Since I live at the intersection of the road all the local trucks take to get to Miami County’s transfer station, up would think one of those trucks could manage to pick up my garbage every week! I pay my bill the day I get it and have my garbage out BEFORE dark the night before. I’m tired of paying for a service i’m Not getting! Getting a credit for a missed week or weeks is NOT Ok! I want my garbage picked up like everyone else on this route!

Thank you for the opportunity to address Ms.’ complaint. First and foremost, we sincerely apologize for the undue frustration.
Rumpke’s District Manager visited Ms.’ property on Thursday to get a clear understanding of the property layout, and a better understanding of the issues that may be causing confusion. He took some pictures of the cart location at the time and the surrounding driveway area. During the visit, the Rumpke trash cart was near the wood fence at the front of Ms.’ property. Unfortunately, this presents a problem because the cart is located too far from the road to complete collection.
In this service area, Rumpke uses a mechanical arm truck to pick up each trash cart and tip the contents into the truck. This form of automated service is used to keep drivers safe from on-coming traffic and physical injuries associated with lifting and entering and exiting the truck. At the same time, automated service keeps routing efficient and cost effective for the customer. However, for the service to work, the trash cart must be placed 3 ft. away from other objects such as mail boxes, recycling containers, fencing, cars, trees, road signs, etc. In this instance, Ms.’ should place the cart where Rumpke currently leaves it after service, closer to the road and away from other obstacles.
We hope this explanation offers a bit of clarity. We want to make Ms.’ experience with Rumpke is a positive one. We are happy to work with her to find the best solution to meet her needs. Please contact me if additional information is necessary.

On the Thursday in question that trash container was a good 4feet from my fence because I had moved it not once but TWICE since I had to mow. If this person really took pictures, it’s news to me since I was here all day except for about an hour when I was getting my hair cut. When I got home the trash had been emptied, but I could not tell since the can was in the same spot as when I left. It wasn’t until it blew over into the roadway and cars had to come to a screeching halt to avoid it that I realized it had been emptied. Also, if this person did take pictures, then where exactly does he propose I put the trash hauler? I tried to explain my situation to a Renee F and she just referred me back to customer service. In addition, none of this is a reason why my garbage is now being missed weekly! Most of the winter it was collected ok, trash haulers in the same place, but lately everything is an excuse for Rumpke not to pick up my trash on the scheduled day. All I’m asking is that the trash be picked up as scheduled, like everyone else seems to have. I am tired of having to call weekly, and having every excuse under the sun as their reason why it was not picked up. Once the driver even lied and said my trash was not out when he went by and yet I have it out BEFORE nightfall the day BEFORE the scheduled pick up. I don’t take pictures of my trash every week, but I do have neighbors that will attest to the fact that it is always out there Monday evening and that it's only been lately that it’s been missed EVERY WEEK!

Thank you for the opportunity to address Ms.’ complaint. We are very sorry we were not able to reach a resolution the first time. We truly hate that Ms.’s continues to encounter frustration with her service.
According to our records, Ms.’ is correct, her trash was serviced on Tuesday, June 18 at 7:30 am. Moving forward we will make every effort necessary to collect the trash on schedule, without interruption.
As we prepare for continued collection, it is vital for Ms. place her cart 3 ft. away from other objects such as mail boxes, fences, recycling containers, cars, trees, road signs, etc. This will allow the truck’s mechanical arm to reach her container, while ensuring the safety of our driver.
We want to make Ms.’ experience with Rumpke is a positive one. Again, we apologize for this back and forth and extra frustration. That is certainly not our intention. We pay Rumpke Tire Recycling every week to come dispose of our bad tires for our tire shop and the way it is supposed to be done is the person driving the truck and picking up the tires is supposed to have us sign the invoice stating we agree to the tires and the amount of tires collected. Well we have on camera that the driver the last few times has wrote out that he picked up more tires than he actually did, and also he signed his name where we are supposed to sign and verify the pickup. So the truck driver has been charging us for more tires than we have and he is not even taking the amount of tires that he puts on our invoice. Also we have been having problems with the drivers not following procedure with their company and our policy as well. Needs to be solved and us get paid back what we paid them for tires we never even got disposed of, Which we believe this is been going on for few months now we just haven't looked fully into the security system yet but we do know the last 4 or 5 pickups have been wrong amounts they charge us for and it is making our business going bankrupt it is that drastic....

The account history also confirmed a customer request for collection of excess tires on April 5, 2019.

The trash men skipped my house during trash collection on Friday. I called Rumpke as soon as they opened Friday morning and was told to leave the trash out as the drivers would be back by my house to pick up since they were still in the neighborhood. They never came. So I called again Monday morning and was told I had to allow 48 business hours for pick up and to continue leaving the trash out. When they didn't come Monday, I called again Tuesday morning after the 48 hours had expired and was told the issue was being escalated and my trash should be picked up by the end of the day, so leave it out again.
I am now on day six with trash sitting in front of my house and no pick up in sight. No one has called, I feel like they have completely blown me off.

When I called about them missing my trash pickup, I specifically inquired to see if I had a payment due. I was told no, but now am told I am past due.What's more, when I log in to pay, it says I owe $64.95, almost double what they are saying I owe here and in the letter I received.At this point, I'd just like to know what I actually owe, so I can make a payment and begin the search for a service that doesn't give me the run around.

Per phone call from customer.
I am very upset, @1:13 on 4/25 - the trash collectors came to pick up my trash. They did not use the automatic arm to pick up the trash but instead looked at the trash and put a orange note on the trash saying "No Dirt". I edged my grass and that is what was rejected. To me this is yard waste which I can throw out in the trash according to the township letter. I will leave the can out there until it has been emptied.

Rumpke never provided services at address and failed to cancel services. Its been a few years since I had rumpke and saw on my credit report an outstanding balance. When I had services they never collected my refuse. I called them to settle the issue and they have on file were I called multiple times over a month period where they never collected but they have no note were I canceled service.

Rumpke has to be called every several weeks because our trash pick up is missed. The trash cans are placed almost out on Rt 22 so they are more than visible. We live on a main state route so its not like the drive is hidden. Although when calling to report this, every attempt is made to get a truck back out to pick up the trash, it should not be necessary for a phone call to have to be made to the manager to let them know we were missed AGAIN. Having to continually call every several weeks is getting out of hand. This has been ongoing for a couple of years now. We simply want our trash picked up as we pay every month for WITHOUT having to call to remind them. The excuses we are given are repetitive excuses that are quite frankly bogus and tiring.
Charlie from Rumpke called and stated he received this complaint. He has indicated to us if the trash is not picked up by 5:00 pm on our trash day of Friday, he himself will come pick up our trash. Although there is no service on Saturdays, he said there is a voice mail to leave a message. We have agreed upon this to see if this rectifies the situation or not. Charlie has been accommodating every time the trash is missed but I am simply tired of having to call and report it as many times as we have had to. Thank you.....
I am writing to reopen an old complaint as the services we are paying for are not being met. It gets better for several weeks then resorts back to us having to call to advise Rumpke to let them know we were missed again. In speaking to both Charlie and Jack at the Circleville location we are being given bogus excuses as to why we were missed. One time its a new driver, next time the regular driver is on vacation and most recently used is traffic behind the truck. The reason I say bogus on the traffic is because all of our neighbors all around us and up and down Rt 22 both ways have been picked up. I personally get out and travel the road to make sure we are being the ONLY missed pick up and we are. Our closest neighbor that Rumpke services is maybe 750 feet away and I find it ironic that if there is traffic behind the truck that they would avoid picking up their trash as well. In addition to this, I have waited many times behind a Rumpke truck so that the worker can empty the can. We were told that if we were missed because the driver felt there was too much traffic they would pick us up on the way back. WELL, what if there is traffic on the way back????Do we get missed again???? Thus, my opinion on the bogus excuses given to us simply because we were missed AGAIN.I have tried to resolve this issue with both Charlie G and Jack and have been more than patient over the past several years that we have had problems. Charlie has told me that if we do not get picked up by 5pm to call in and report it and they will pick up Saturday. The office closes at 4pm, I pay my bill timely every month and my day of pick up is Friday. I should not have to call in and report my trash has been missed again. That is what I am paying for monthly. My trash is placed out in plain sight, our property is wide open so why they are avoiding our pick up is beyond me. It is as if we are being singled out.At one point Charlie advised us that he was having the driver call him whenever they picked our trash up so he knew it got picked up. That is how often we have been missed. Charlie has also told us that he would come and pick up the trash himself if not picked up. This is not resolving the issue of us having to call in and report we were missed again. We should not have to call in PERIOD. We pay our bill timely and we simply want our trash picked up without any excuses as to why it has not been. It is just one excuse after another as to why we were missed and all of our neighbors have been serviced. We have rental properties and they rarely have had a problem in the past. As I am typing this our trash can is still sitting out at the road and all of our neighbors that Rumpke services has been picked up. I agreed to close this complaint last time as we were promised things would get better as we received a call from Charlie he received an email from Revdex.com. But it has gotten better for short intervals at a time then reverts back to the same thing. We simply want our trash picked up and not have to call in to complain that it has not. We also do not want any further excuses as to why it has not been picked up when we know everyone around us has been. Thank you.

After a lengthy conversation with him and with much hesitation, I have agreed to give him one more chance to rectify the situation. He has indicated to me that the problem we are having will be taken care of. Although I am agreeing with much trepidation, I am hoping what he has told me"that it will take only one phone call to him" to resolve our issue will happen. Calling into management in the past has not worked and once again I should not have to call at all. Every time I set out anything other than my rumpke cans the collectors hardly take it, this goes on anytime I have more than the rumpke cans. I had some limbs out last week, less than 6’ and in a bundle along with the Christmas tree, they took just the tree, so I bagged the limbs, they took 4 bags and left 1, I had a total of 6 the max amount including my can. My complaint is they do this every week and I’m getting tired of it, I call dispatch and they send them back out and sometimes they get everything and sometimes not, like the limb issue, they came back out and took a few and left the rest. I pay for my trash to be collected, I don’t expect children to be on the truck playing games with me trash, I just want my trash to be collected and all of it.

According to our records Mr. resides within the city limits of ***. *** contracted with Rumpke to provide trash removal for their community. That said, Rumpke must adhere to specific guidelines when providing the trash removal service for *** residents.
The agreement states that regular trash service limits are (2) 95-gallon trash carts or (1) 95-gallon trash cart and 5 bags or (6) 35-gallon containers or (10) bags and (1) large item per week.
Mr. is utilizing (1) 95- gallon trash cart for service each week. If he stays within the limits stated above, there should be no issue with weekly trash service.

My view is simply this, for the garbage men to do their job correctly. I always have to schedule a big item to be picked up if I forget to schedule it they won’t take it. Example I’m a plumber and always setting toilets out for them to take, if I don’t schedule it they won’t take it And even when I do schedule it sometimes they still own take it I have to call dispatch and have them to come back to pick it up, This is the jist of this complaint and I’d like The people to be trained correctly to do their jobs correctly

This company has provided terrible service for six months. They were supposed to pick up our dumpster last Wednesday and did not for the 4 or 5th time. I called the company and ending up speaking to Mary at ext. 7294. She said the driver told her the dumpster was emptied, which it was not. I had to order dumpster service from another company. I called Mary this morning 1/22/2019 to confirm that I needed their dumpster removed from our property. She said that she needed to speak to her supervisor and that there is a process for removal. I said I needed it removed by Wednesday at 5:00 pm January 23rd, and she said that will not happen. I have trash collected in our building ...
I closed this complaint yesterday. The company removed the dumpster and we all agreed to disagree so the matter is closed at our end.

A rating? A terrible customer website, consistent billing calculation problems, consistent automatic bill-pay problems, and missed trash pick-up. A rating??
I put my trash and recycle tote out the same time and they came and picked the trash but didn't come back and pick up my recycle tote. I have called three times and left a message. They never called me back although the voice mail says if we miss the trash or recycle we apologize and someone will call you back. That is not happening. I am not a happy customer. They are not showing me customer service.

You know at times weather plays a factor in the trash being spread on the streets on a trash day but it's too often. Also, our trash pick up is getting later and later. Next, my neighbors and I have had to replace trash cans or do not have trash cans at all due to their rough handling of the trash carts. By Rumpke employees and they have not made changes to improve. Now I have an actual Rumpke trash cart; which was given to me by them after they have destroyed my personal trash can before; which I am also grateful for. However, even with this heavy duty Rumpke trash cart, they've managed to break the box of it and break a wheel off of it. I consulted Rumpke about this several times and got no response. Then finally on my day off I get to call during working hours and they reported they can only help if i'm a paying customer. Where is the accountability?
So this is where I get confused. I (we) own my (our) home (s) and pay taxes; am I (we) not a paying customer (s)? I don't really have much reason to toss my trash can around and cause this kind of damage and if they were doing their job properly, there would not be so much evidence from myself and others of their reckless service in our community. So I am asking for more responsible service in our communities by the workers in the field and in office. I want Rumpke to take accountability, they don't respond to every voice mail or email within "72 hours" and they don't acknowledge the customers who pay taxes to give them jobs in our communities as "paying customers". I would also like a repair or replacement for my personal trash can that was damage due to their company's inconsiderate service.

Rumpke is awful. They have not picked up my trash (and sometimes my neighbors trans) for 3 weeks. I have to call them every week and then they tell me no one is in the area. I have cancelled the service, but I did not get what I paid for. They seem to be running a fraudulent business. Waste Management costs more where I am, but they were worth every penny. I would give 0 stars if I could.

It is similar to the Rumpke cans in that it is green on the sides but mine is black on top, does NOT say Rumpke anywhere on it and had spray paint on the lid.
I had it marked for recycling and was using it for recyclables picked up by Rumpke
I forgot to pay my bill and in September Rumpke picked up the can I had bought and paid for from ***
I called them on 10/9/18 and the rep admitted they had picked up the a can from my residence.
I never had a Rumpke recycling cart and mine was missing. The rep admitted they most likely took my can by accident and would get it back to me. She said she would contact the person in charge of picking those up and she would call with a solution no later than 10/11/18.
I never heard from the rep so I called again today, 10/18/18. The rep again admitted they had picked up a can they thought was theirs because consumers are not allowed to use personally owned cans for recyclables. No where in their advertising or the literature they send out is that stated. They allow consumers to use other cans for trash so this is confusing that they have an undeclared exception to their service.
The 2nd rep also said I would hear back from her with a solution but I have little faith in this as this has been going on for weeks.

The represantive was evasive and refused to answer many of my questions directly. In the end we agreed to continue service but the original issue was not resolved. The rep stated she would not resolve it to my satisfaction and so I would like my complaint to be recorded as not resolved.

Rumpke's service is lousy. They leave a mess that they've created. What's the point of making a Revdex.com complaint when an A+ rating is shown for this company that has hundreds of complaints against it already. Revdex.com rating system is broken.
0 stars if possible. Started out great with a commercial service dumpster, then changed drivers and just problem after problem. Too wet in driveway, he couldn't get down the drive, etc. Finally picked up after 3 weeks of waiting. Just to have it happen again. Customer service was all nice and phone and then never followed thru with any of their promises. Cancelled and was told I was paid up and could switch to residential (thinking less problems). Received a bill, called and was told I had not paid my last bill. So I paid. Received another bill for a finance charge, called and said that I didn't feel it was my responsibility since I had been misinformed. Told not to worry, they would remove it. Just found my credit card has been charged the finance charge. Needless to say, I have now made certain my card info has been removed and my residential has only been paid by check. Would never put another card on file with this company. They seem to lie with ease. Will tell you anything on the phone to keep your business and then just do as they please in reality. Have finally found an alternative source that I am taking my business to in the future. Proceed with caution with this company and if you have a good driver, hope he stays.
Rumpke was the waste disposal service for a house owned by me and occupied by my nephew. I cancelled the service due to poor service but prior to the cancellation date I requested pickup of a mattress which incurred an additional charge of $15. The mattress was wrapped in compliance with what I understood from instructions by a Rumpke employee and placed on the curb. It was not removed on the date given to me by Rumpke. At some point my nephew was home on pick-up day and he asked them to take the mattress. Following a few unpleasant words between the Rumpke employees and my nephew, the employees said they could not take it because it was too heavy. My nephew said he would help them load it and while he went to put on shoes/shirt, they just left. So they did not remove the mattress and I had to pay someone else to come haul it off, Therefore, I do not feel I am responsible to pay for a service that I did not receive.

Rumpke did not pick up my garbage on 8/29/18. I notified them and they said they would have someone come get it, nothing happened, I notified them again and they said the truck driver didn’t see my trash out, but it was. They told me to stop contacting them (customer service) regarding the issue because they notified the supervisor, so they couldn’t do anything in regards to the issue and I would have to speak to the supervisor who has 72 hours to get back to me. It has been over 72 hours and supervisor has not called me back. I also left a voicemail for the supervisor.

My neighbors and myself have an incredibly long, ongoing issue with Rumpke Waste in regards to our trash removal. We were forced into having service with them in January of 2018 citing we HAD to have a trash removal service and they signed us up for an account without our permission. Since then, our bill has always been paid, as have our neighbors', so there should be no issue with trash removal. However, Rumpke has missed our road multiple times resulting in my neighbors and myself calling to ask for a pick up that happens much later than promised.
Currently, Rumpke has not removed any trash from *** Road, *** in almost 2 WEEKS. They have been politely notified several times. We have been promised multiple times that a pick up will happen THE DAY OF THE COMPLAINT. No supervisor is ever available when asked to speak with one. Our road is full of overflowing trash cans currently. Our last pick up was the evening of Monday, August 27, 2018. Considering how much trash has been sitting in the current heat wave we've been through, this poses a health hazard for many of us.
My neighbors and I began calling on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. Calls continued to today, September 7, 2018 and each time promises were made for a same day pick up.
