I was mislead /lied too about the 30% tax credit.
During July of 2019 Nicholas N. Came out to the house for a solar estimate. The sales rep kept stating that we would be guaranteed the 30% tax credit and it was only for this year. He talked about how it was a refund and when we received this refund we had to put it back into the panels and the cost of payment would be lowered. Due to this we decided to buy solar panels. After filing our taxes we were told that we did not qualify for the tax credit and if we did it is not a refund but a credit. Not only did nicholas not mention that there was a possibility of not getting the credit but was adamant that this was a refund that we would get so our solar system would be more affordable. I feel lied to and if I would have know this I would not have purchased the panels.

Desired Outcome

I would like powerhome solar to credit us for the false promise of the 30% tax refund.

The salesman lied about the tax return and assured that this was a refund and stated this multiple times. After seeing powerhome solar on tv and FB ads I thought this was a reputable company and decided to take the salesman word.

Terrible business!! Do not.... I Repeat do not do business with power home solar!
Since day one after the install of the panel. I haven't had anything but problem! Took almost 3 months to get the panels turned on. That's only after I have called multiple times and complained. Finally we got the panels turned on and working, but nothing like they are supposed to. Jerri told use before we signed any contract that we will see a huge savings (75 percent). That was a lie. We are only saving $10 on our power bill nowhere even close to 75 percent. More like 10 percent. Brieann has been helping us on the situation. But it's just the run around. She said that we aren't using enough power for our power bill to go down. What since does that make?? After a few days of this crap I called and asked to speak with the manager. She tried to connect me with Brad or Joe and I got disconnected. I called back and got disconnected again! I never received a phone call from anyone trying to reach out to me. Final I got to talk to Brad. I'm waiting on the call back. (Not holding my breath). When I get in touch with him, we *** see how they plan on fixing my issue. They did a Power bill analysis. It was .64 - .70 on all my bills. It is suppose to be .99 or higher. They are trying so say I have a shading issue. (Which I don't). Putting these solar panels on my house was the worst idea I have ever made. Please don't do it!!!

Desired Outcome

I want a full refund!!! Come get these solar panels off my roof and fix the roof. I don't want anymore panels on my roof!!

So it was pointless for him to even call me. I'm still waiting on a call from the service department to set up a time for them to come out and figure out what is wrong with my panels.

Someone did come out to my house on the 1-18-2020. Found out that I have a shading issue that was never addressed before the the solar panels was ever installed. Brieann called me 1-20-2020 and was going to talk to Brad to figure out about trimming or cutting down the tree(s) that is causing the shading issue. I will submit a new review once the issue is taken care of.

I had a solar package installed in October of 2018, the crew damaged my steel roof, they have been back 4 times to fix it and it still is not right.
I had a solar package installed in October of 2018, during installation the crew damaged 5 sections of the brand new steel ridge cap that was just installed the month before. The whole top main ridge was all dented and two ridge caps coming down the front dormer were dented and scratched, they've tried to fix it four times now but keep bringing the wrong supplies. The last time someone was here was months ago, the installer took off all of the damaged ridge caps and installed the ones he had which were the wrong color, not to mention the new caps he put on he dented in the process. I haven't heard from them since so I'm assuming they hope I'll forget, here we are going on well over a year later and haven't had the problem corrected.

Desired Outcome

I would like my roof to be repaired in the right color and finally be finished.

Nothing that you said you would do is being done. We have had issue since day one.
On 12/17/18 we signed a contract that stated it would be installed within 90 days not to mention it was for the price of putting the panels on the house and detached garage. It took 126 days to put the panels up. Power home did reimburse us for the 2 months that it should have been installed. They did explain to us that if the any panel wasn't working they would catch it and notified us or fix the issue. We calculated 133 days of no energy production since June 2019 based on powerhomes computer model. Everytime we call you. Each person drops the ball and has left us with a $400 *** and they are threatenting to turn off our electric which I believe is Powerhomes Solar and Roofings fault. We would like this issue resolved where both parties happy. I do believe it stems from our team of workers because our daughter did this directly after us and has had no problems.

Desired Outcome

We took on $36,000 and that was for panels on the roof and our attached garage. We expect a reimbursement. I would have forgot about this however, the additional issue with your company I now cannot look over. Our electric bill has been higher than the years past. I do believe you should reimburse us for Powerhome not producing what the contract stated it would.

They have not done what they said they were going to do. Compensate us for the system not working for many months. It's been three weeks since they said they would send us a check for the electric bill and I've called and management won't return phone calls nor can they get ahold of accounting who sends out the checks.

When the sales Rep., Noll B came to our home he assured us that we had 30 days to cancel if we decided NOT to move forward with this project. He even went as far as telling us that even if it went past the 30 days, he would "take care of us" and have it cancelled. Once, we did decide to cancel (as my husband suffered a serious fall and his medical condition is declining) it was impossible to get the process moving or to get any responses from this company until they were ready to provide an ultimatum to us- Move forward with the project with a discount and less panels OR go to collections! I was informed that the amount of these expenses were going to be close to $8,000! The manager I was lastly dealing with even told me that I was being "combative" when he was talking with me on the phone and telling me I needed to move forward. This felt like a smack in the face and very unprofessional. I am so disappointed and feel like we have been totally taken advantage of. Even if I had the money to move forward, I would NOT want to do business with this company after the way we have been treated. Very bad experience and heart breaking to be taken advantage of!

Misleading information to sign contract. Promised substantial savings which was false.
The "saving" money spin was totally misleading. Before the solar panels, I was on the utility company's budget plan (payments were the same each month) and was paying $98/mo. I was told the payments would lower to just a few bucks a month. We are paying $101 for the panels. Our electric bill has varied from $20 to $110 a month since the panels went live about 9 months ago.

Desired Outcome

I want what was promised. An electric bill that is substantially lower than my electric bill before I got the panels. Or cancel contract and take panels without any fees or damage to my roof.

POWERHOME SOLAR Response • Dec 30, 2019

We spoke with Mr. , He'll be sending in the powers bills we can see why they are fluctuating.

Customer Response • Jan 23, 2020

his has not been resolved to our satisfaction. We've been told that annually we will use 15% utility company. We were paying $100/month with the utility company, which would be $1200 annually. 15% of that would be $180. The solar panels have not been active for a full year yet. Just 2 of our utility bills have exceeded $180, which is more than 15%. So the other utility bills we've received since activation plus the future ones we will receive from now until the one year mark will put is well over 15%.

The amount of money spent to get the system installed is not even coming close to paying 15% of my monthly power bill.
I paid for 14 panels and have a ground mount taht is the most optimally facing position in the yard. The system cost over $22,000 !!

The system last month generated 40 kwh against my current bill of 2400 kwh. The sales man that sold me this hunk of crap sold this system with the sales pitch that I would have at least half my bill being paid for by the daily power generation and another 1/3 of my bill being paid for by the power being sold back to ***. The system in no way shape or form comes even close to satisfying any of those requirements. *** does not even care that you are selling back the power...they pay the least amount of money back to you as possible. I am now stuck with a $22,000 loan and system that will likely get older and produce less and less energy every year.

The entire process was a huge waste of time and put me further into a massive pile of debt. Unless PowerHome remedies the situation, I will seek counsel.

Desired Outcome

Seeking the company to come out and add more panels at their cost to ensure their original promises are met. If they cannot do that, I am seeking to seek compensation for the entire build.

Worst company EVER. Our power bill is MORE now than it ever was!! I have made at least three phone calls to them about this and have gotten NO RESPONSE! My fiancé and sent numerous emails and still have had no response. We are on our fourth inverter box and still NO SAVINGS!! Advice I would give to you.... DO NOT go with this company we're getting a lawyer!!

Salesman lies about product to get contract. Nearly impossible to get in contact with the company. Very expensive scam!
The sales rep was, of course, right on time and answered questions (said what he knew we wanted to hear) and quickly got us through the sign up contracts and of course the huge loan. The only reason we signed up was because he promised our 27 panels would cover 80%, if not more, of our energy usage. $42,000 loan, lots of headache, and 5 months later, we get our first electrical *** to find that the panels, in fact, cover maybe 10%! So not only are we strapped with the almost $200 per month loan payment, but we still have our regular electric bill to pay on top of it. The electric bills since have shown less and less production!
The install team out of *** was great. Once they got permission to start, it was completed in a day. However, when it came to getting inspections and the interconnect with the electric company, I did all of the calling and fighting to get it done. This whole process started in May. Panels were finally powered on mid-September. Trying to get ahold of my account manager is impossible. Getting ahold of anyone from the company is near impossible for that matter.
I was able to talk to someone from the company once, and they said I needed to wait a few months to see if the production would change, so I have (production has gotten worse) and now I can't get ahold of anyone again.

Desired Outcome

Product does not perform as promised. We would like to be refunded and the panels removed at this point since the company does not seem to think there is a problem.

Waiting to see what is figured out in April.

Did not clean up and destroyed the finish closing around my fuse box and torn down two of my ceiling tiles. Failed to spray in insulation in attic.
Failed to blow in insulation as agreed too. Torn up the finish closing around my fuse box, torn down ceiling tile and never cleaned up mess. System was installed two weeks ago and still not operational.

Desired Outcome

To repair damage and complete spray insulation agreed to during sale.
