I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Although I was a co-signer on this loan granted to my mother, once she became ill, her finances were being handled by another family member. I took pro-active measures to safeguard my credit history, and take responsibility for the loan payments, by making arrangements with the bank branch manager to keep me informed and up to date so the loan would not become delinquent. PNC BANK GAVE ME FALSE ASSURANCES THAT THE MECHANISMS PUT IN PLACE WOULD PREVENT THIS DELINQUENCY FROM HAPPENING. PNC bank failed to notify me of any problems with this account in a timely manner, and never gave me an opportunity to make things right until I contacted them when my mother died. By that time the late fees and penalties were over $5000.00. I did everything I could think of to avoid this problem and the PNC bank branch manager I had worked with did not suggest any other options or actions to avoid this from happening.As a result of this complaint I received a letter from PNC Bank loan department in which they list other things I "should" have done to avoid this problem. When I contacted them to inform them that my mother's finances were in the hands of another family member, they should have informed me of these "other" measures at that time. I don't work in finance, I was relying on the advice of the PNC bank branch manager. I did everything I could think of and they failed to keep me informed as promised. PNC bank dropped the ball on this one and now it shows as a negative item on my credit history. I shouldn't be surprised that they reject any responsibility for this, they have so many customers that I'm sure a few complaints like mine don't bother them at all. But I'm disappointed that they didn't even offer me an apology. If they had worked with me as promised they would have got their money back.
