Review: These people just keep calling and hanging up. I do believe it is a credit card debt from 2001, not sure because they have never sent me a letter describing what I owe and for what bill, supposedly. They never disclose who they are or what they want and for some reason they have my phone and home address. I do knew if there is no official letter sent about any debt I owe, therefore it is in clear violation of the Fair Debtors Act.
No Letter means the debt is fraudulent. Of course they will probably say something in the fashion of "we sent it out on this date", really where is it?
Also if a debt collector rings your phone, aren't suppose to leave a message and also state if this is not the person, please ignore this message.
Honestly, there is no regulation anymore and I have to struggle, what is that.Desired Settlement: Take me off the calling list and never bother me again

Review: The company that I am complaining about is a debt collector called Penn Credit Corp. They are located at 916 S 14th Street, Harrisburg, PA 17104 . They reported an alleged debt to all three credit reporting agencies, without contacting me first. I found the Penn Credit Corp Item on my yearly freecredit reports from Experian, Equifax, and Transunion. I asked all three bureaus, to investigate, and all three said they did and let the item from Penn Credit Corp stay on my credit reports.
I sent a certified letter to Penn Credit Corp (which they received on July 12, 2013) asking them to validate the debt that they are reporting, and if they couldn't validate it, to remove the item that they are reporting from all three credit bureaus. To date they have not responded. They have never contacted me at all, just placed the item on my credit reports.
I called Transunion today, to ask them to remove the item, and they said that only the collection agency can remove it from my credit report. I asked the Transunion representative how Transunion verified the item reported by Penn Credit Corp, and they said it was just based on Penn saying the debt was real, with no documentation of such.Desired Settlement: This alleged debt be removed from all 3 credit bureaus as well as Penn Credit to have this account closed.

Review: Within the last month my ex-wife has been receiving an onslaught of phone calls from Penn Credit Corporation. Apparently this is regarding a debt. I have never been contacted by Penn Credit Corporation in writing or by phone. My ex-wife is struggling with treatment for cancer and related illnesses and she is quite dismayed by these calls. This practice is egregious and is making bad situation much worse. She needs rest without the threat of harassing phone calls that have nothing to do with her. We have been divorced since 1992 and have not shared anything save for a great friendship which is now strained; thus I cannot imagine how or why they ascertained her contact information.
These calls reference my name but, as I stated earlier, I have never been contacted by this organization. These calls are constant and they occur early in the morning and late at night; they include weekdays and Sunday. What's more they are made on a landline that is my ex-wife's business phone.
It appears to me that, Penn Credit has crossed a legal line in that they are harassing my ex-wife, calling at inappropriate hours and they are calling on a phone number used for business.Desired Settlement: 1.) The FDCPA calls for a fine of $1000.00 for violation of the law.
2.) Cease and desist at once.

I am rejecting this response because:
Review: The company involved keeps calling me and no one will speak. I continually say hello and still no response. I stay on the line until it goes dead. If they actually have business with me why can't someone acknowledge me on the the phone?Desired Settlement: Either quit calling me, or if they have business with me, speak when they call.

Review: They continuously call my number I have told them numerous times that the person that they are looking for does not live here, they have the wrong number, the lady that answers the phone is very rude and hangs up on you. They call at 9:10am , 1:10, 5:22 every day even after they have been told not to.Desired Settlement: For them to stop calling me I am tired of the harassment from someone I do not owe anything to.

Review: I want this company to leave me alone. I do not owe this amount to anyone and will not pay a company that does not identify itself an unidentified debt. It is also my understanding that calls of this nature that are a recording with no option to agree is illegal. Also, to ask to identify, over the phone, a social security number, is illegal as well. They asked my identity, I agreed and stated "Yes, that is me" that should have sufficed. They called on Aug. 13, 2014, at 2:10PM EST.Desired Settlement: Stop contacting me, I owe them nothing and I will send a cease and decist. Also, any debt over a year, should be null and void. (Especially a debt I know nothing of to a address I never receive mail at.)

I am rejecting this response because:I moved from that said residence 7-30-2013. I told the precious landlord and he said he would put it in his name. Obviously he did not. Not my problem.
Review: We have received over 40 recorded calls from this company for an individual that we do not know. They then give you a number to call which we have done just to try to get off of the list. We end up on hold for 10 - 15 minutes, and then the call is dropped. Finally spoke with them today, and they were less than apologetic for the countless calls. This has taken a great deal of our time. I understand that companies like this have a job to do, but there needs to be a method for people in my situation to be able to stop the calls when they are a mistake.Desired Settlement: At a minimum, a written apology would be appropriate. More importantly, the system needs to be changed to allow people to be removed from their list on the first call.

Review: Penn Credit mailed a "Notice of Collection" letter to me one day ago. This letter states that their "Client", the City of [redacted], sent "my delinquent account" information to them to collect money owed ($50). The services rendered are stated as "Pavement Markings" in 2008.
This letter looked incredibly suspicious to me, so I called the City of [redacted] finance department to go straight to the source of what was going on, and what money I supposedly owed to them. After talking to the finance director, I was informed that The City of [redacted] does NOT collect unpaid bills of city residents by collection agency and that the services rendered "pavement markings" would only be billed to a customer if they were a business. I am absolutely not a business, I am just a home owner in [redacted].
This letter looks extremely legitimate, and I can see how a lot of people would fall for this scam. Not only am I reporting this scam to the Revdex.com, I'm contacting my local police department as well.Desired Settlement: The general public needs to be informed of the criminal activity that Penn Credit is conducting.

Review: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I had asked Penn Credit repeatly to ask [redacted] to send me again the original or copy of the bill I supposed to owe so I can see what it look like, always refuse to answer. I don't understand why [redacted] didn't contact me directly if I fail to pay the bill since i'm with them over 40 yrs, strange. i'll be glad to pay it if I owe them therefore I truely believe Penn Credit is a SCAM company trying to scam people. Their records as a company showed many complaints about them.. they had called me at least 3 times and never did send me how the original bill would look like although say they will... Please look in this matter as how many other people might fall for it. thank you Revdex.com.

Review: This is some kind of collection agency, I've repeatedly asked them to send me a copy of the bill from who ever they represent and if this is my debt I'd be happy to pay it. They continue to tell me they will send me a bill but don't yet they continue to call my house and harass me for payment. I'm asking for proof of who they represent and a bill to show this is actually my debt.Desired Settlement: As they seeming are unable to provide proof of who their client is or that this is in fact my debt, I'd like all calls from this company to my home to cease immediately.

Review: I am being harassed by this company when I have no business with the company. They are repeatedly calling my home and disturbing my family when I am not the debtor that they seek. When I called several times, I received rude behavior by the company. They did not respond appropriately to my concerns and laughed at me for attempting to get affirmation that my family and young children would not be harassed again by their inappropriate company behaviors.Desired Settlement: I asked for an apology and reassurance that my family would not be harassed and the customer service people hung up on me and laughed. I am sure it is recorded on their end. I expect an apology and reparation.
