American Modern Insurance Group (AMIG) has responded times to this dispute thus far. AMIG has not provided any step towards a resolution, not even one step. Because they are a large company and hold all the power of decision making in this dispute, they have not made any attempts to try to resolve this situation in a professional manner other than stating that they will not do anything. this is very clear in all of the communication they have had with me. the only issue AMIG has addressed is their unwillingness to fulfill their responsibility as an insurance company to cover my claim for a hail storm and its effects on my property. My home is covered by hail storms. AMIG chooses to willingly to do otherwise.According to AMIG's website, their code of ethics is "to always do the right thing." It is apparently their number one rule, yet fails to have any real life value. As was mentioned in earlier communication, their unprofessional and uncaring month long delay resulted in additional thousands of dollars of damage to my home. They fail to see the reason I mention it, and then ignore all the other points I bring to their attention. This is the basis for the type of company AMIG is, the values it really has, and its only self-preserving attitude. They apologize, yet there is no action or even a step to resolution to those empty words. As we can see, the response of AMIG does not resolve my case because they have not given any resolution to the case other than that I should take financial responsibility for their inability to take responsibility for their purpose of being in business

P.S.: Simple lack of communication, past agent did not inform this party that he was leaving until he had left. New agent (local - even better!) straightened the confusion out. Thank you for your assistance

I am responding to your letter received in our office on July 25, 2016, regarding the above mentioned insured. The rate changes experienced over the last couple of years for this policyholder were due to a number of different changesHowever, none of the changes were due to any claim activity. The
rate changes between the and renewal were due to several program changesWe changed rates for this territory to get closer to the North Carolina Rating Bureau (NCRB) ratesWe are still just slightly below NCRB ratesThe policy was also indexed, meaning the policy Dwelling limit was increased in this renewal from $123,to $125,in order to keep up with the cost of replacing their covered propertyThis increase in limits resulted in a portion of the changeIn addition, the included Personal Property limit was changed from 50% of the Dwelling limit to 30%, so the policyholder saw an increase in their Personal Property premium as the Personal Property limit was kept at the same 50% level, but they are now charged for the additional 20% of coverageAlso, since the Replacement Cost coverages for the home and personal property are a percentage of the Dwelling and Personal Property premium, those increased as wellFinally, there was a slight increase in the Personal Liability premium as the included limit changed to $25,000, so the premium increased to get to the customer’s limit of $100,A notice was included on the policy informing the customer of the Personal Property and Personal Liability included limit change and the impact of this change.Between the and renewal, the North Carolina Rate Bureau implemented new rates which included a rate increase for some customersThis rate change became effective 10/1/This rate change also included a change in the rating territories and the county where this policyholder is located was moved to a higher rated territoryHowever, all individual rates and options for this policy were equal to the NCRB’s previous rates and are still equal to the recently implemented NCRB ratesOnce again the policy was also indexed, meaning the policy Dwelling limit was increased in this renewal from $125,to $128,in order to keep up with the cost of replacing their covered propertyThis increase in limits resulted in a portion of the changeSince both the Dwelling and Personal Property premium increased, the Replacement Cost and Personal Property Replacement Cost premium increased as wellFinally, the overall increase in premium was also due to a rate correction on your prior termThe deductible credit on the prior term allowed for a larger credit than was intendedThis miscalculation has since been corrected and the proper credit amount has been applied to your renewal termNotices for both the Personal Property and Personal Liability included limit change as well as the Deductible correction were included on the policy informing the policyholder of the impact of these changes.I hope this response will bring closure to our correspondenceShould you have additional questions, please feel free to contact me via e-mail at [email protected] or at *** *** *** *** Thank you*** ***
