Buyer beware! I had Mainstream do some plumbing repair work earlier this year and I have experienced a real case of “buyers remorse”. In May, I had Mainstream come to my home for the repair of a faucet in my garage. In looking at the job, the technician, a personable young man, pointed out that both my water softener and water heater were in need of replacement and contribute to the problem of a “frozen” faucet. The technician gave me estimates for the faucet repair, water softener, and water heater ranging from $4100 to over $7000. I thought at the time this was “pricey” but being the type who likes to get things and not having an idea of the market price of a water softener, I agreed to the a price of $4300 for the faucet and water softener. The work took about 4 hours. The tech did not leave a copy of the invoice and I assumed it would be sent to me with The itemization of the work performed.
After two phone calls, I subsequently received the invoice but it did not show the breakdown on the charge for the water softener, nor faucet repair, etc. I wrote a letter on August 19, 2019 requesting more information and to date I have not received the itemization. This has lead me to write this unfavorable review.
Here’s the deal. In fairness to Mainstream, they did give me estimates which I signed off on. I should of got another estimate- shame on me. However, Mainstream’s pricing is excessive. Regrettably, I have verified this in checking with other plumbers after the fact. Pricing for a similar faucet repair would be less than $500 and the identical water heater installed would be less than $2000. That is almost less than half in what I paid. What I paid is embarrassing and gut wrenching and I do not want someone else to have this experience. Accordingly, shame on Mainstream for what I would call “milking the market”. I would be interested to know how Mainstream comes up with their pricing strategy. Again, BUYER BEWARE!

Mainstream did both plumbing and A/C replacement and electrical work in the home we just moved into. They did all the work in one day. Left the place squeaky clean. They were the best! I would highly recommend them for HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical work. Ours was a big job and they handled it all in one day. I am truly impressed.

Had an appointment scheduled with mainstream and waited about two weeks for the appointment. Came back home to be there for their window of 1:00 to 4:00. On that day at 2:00 the mainstream office called and said they would have to reschedule and they would schedule us but it would be over a week out. The electrical work was where new cabinets were being installed so had to cancel cabinet installation while we find another electrician. Have used in the past but will never again. Find they try to up sell and are unreliable.

The electrician was knowledgeable and very helpful. He knew what to look for to solve our electrical problem and explained exactly what needed to be done and why. He also laid out a plan for future maintenance, since the wiring in our house is getting old.

The efficiency of the office crew over the last few weeks when I was calling for an estimate and service was excellent as was Brendan, the electrician who evaluated what needed to be done and then did it in the same efficient manner as the office folk. He also did some more estimations for me and I shall use the firm again. Have also called them for some plumbing problems and someone will be here on Friday to help fix the problem and I am confident it will be taken care of in a timely manner.

FANTASTIC SERVICE !!! Arrived the same morning I called them. Employees were knowledgeable, thorough, courteous, and explained my plumbing problem in detail. They were finished within 30 minutes, and did an exemplary job. The next time I need a plumber, electrician, or heating & cooling specialist, I will call MAINSTREAM.

I don’t think its right to have to pay someone $69 to come and just quote a job.
The tech was onsite for 15 minutes only did visual inspections. No measurements or details were gathered.

I contacted Mainstream Electric for a bathroom fan in my two bathrooms to be replaced. I had used them in the past and had no problems. My first attempt to contact them was by chat on their website. My information was collected and I was told I’d get a call to setup an appointment the next morning. That call did not happen. I called them in a second attempt and was told that I would receive a call back to setup an appointment. No call back. I then submitted a service request through their website and received an email from the owner saying my experience was not what they had wanted to happen. I setup an appointment for today, May 7, 2019 and was told the person would be coming out between 8-10. I mentioned I would be dropping my dog off at the vet at 8 and the person on the phone said that was not a problem. I came home and it is now 12 noon. No call from Mainstream Electric and no service person showed up. You have lost this customer. Do not connect me.

Mainstream arrived within the promised time frame and went right to work. They were very professional and friendly and neet in appearance (no plumbers crack!).
The removed our old heat and A/C units and installed the new system in about 6 hours. We were expecting a 2 day install so we were impressed and pleased with how quickly they finished.
Over all Mainstream is a great company to do business with.

Spectacular customer service! Friendly and clean. The guys installed our new furnace and thermostat on 4/4/19 and we’re extremely friendly and efficient. So impressed with the attention to detail. What a amazing company! 10 stars:) Will definitely be recommending them!

After they finished, they made sure to teach me how to use the new thermostat and where the furnace's filter was located and how and when to replace it. Forgot to turn heat back on....house freezing when I got home...statement states serviced and cleaned....at 2nd opinion full service done right by *** furnace and air...paid 80 dollars for service for Mainstream.....turn around the next day to pay 96.50 to have service done right. Not a happy customer.
