Total Scam Called told them I have a floor drain needed cleaned they advertised $79.99 I have paid $100.00 once a year last 10yrs. Woman shows up wants $500.00 plus tax. I told her to leave, she then says there is a $69.99 service charge I laughed at her. On her way out she said the person I called doesnt know anything about plumbing' Unbelievable

I had Alex of main stream come to my house to provide a bid to add a central air to my current set up . during the estimate he decided to clip his co2 detector to my heat vent as he continued to do his thing the co2 detector started going off. he informed my wife who was home alone that my furnace was producing 29 parts per million of co2. He did a few other test and said my heat exchanger was cracked and I need to replace it now. he wrote up a bid pressed my wife into there financing that they offered. fast forward to last week I had to go with the company my home warranty uses they came out removed my furnace called me after removing the furnace they informed me mainstream had lied and been deceptive about my heat exchanger being cracked. Moral of this review is to let the public know that they are deceptive liars and will try to force there sales and service on you with out doing the full investigation. I just replaced a furnace that was still in good working condition on there so called professional advise.

In response to Complaint #***

Mainstream's Technician Alex visited *** house on 2/10/2020 to discuss central air options for his home & the replacement of his 30 year old furnace. Mr. is correct, our technicians routinely monitor CO2 during service calls for client safety & to educate our clients of any potential health hazards. During Alex's time at the *** home he performed his thorough evaluation of their entire heating & cooling system and concluded his visit by presenting four options to replace their 30 year old furnace & provide central air to their home. The four options Alex presented ranged from $4,848.06 to $11,708.09. Mainstream proudly & routinely offers financing to our clients- the *** were offered financing through *** Financing (a third party lender). Alex concluded his visit at the *** house, the four options were emailed out to *** & there was never any exchange of money between Mainstream & the ***. As Mr. stated, he did not choose to move forward with any of the four options that Alex presented but he did choose to use Alex's recommendations to determine that they should replace their 30 year old furnace based on Alex's findings of a cracked heat exchanger & unsafe levels of CO2. Mr. made the choice to do business with a different company. The company that Mr. chose to hire took out his existing 30 year old furnace, installed a new furnace & then told Mr. that there was not a crack in the heat exchanger. It is clear that the company Mr. chose to use did not do their own thorough diagnostic & simply removed, replaced and then stated Mainstream was incorrect. Mr. would like Mainstream to pay for his new furnace that Mainstream did not install. Mr. chose to do business with a different company to replace his 30 year old furnace. When focusing on the facts you'll see that Mainstream visited Mr. house, performed an expert analysis, provided four options to replace his 30 year old furnace, Mr. chose not to do business with Mainstream & there was no money exchanged between Mr. & Mainstream. Mr. is requesting that Mainstream pays for the furnace that was installed by a different company who, without doing a thorough evaluation, claims Mainstream is incorrect in regards to the health of a 30 year old heat exchanger. Mr. did not choose to do business with Mainstream & chose to hire a different, but he is requesting that Mainstream pays for his new furnace. Our team, when looking at the facts, does not see this request as reasonable. We fulfilled our duty to Mr. on 2/10/2020 by performing a thorough evaluation of his heating & cooling system, providing him with an expert opinion & four options specifically addressing the reason that Mr. called Mainstream. Once Mr. chose not to do business with Mainstream- our involvement in his 30 year old furnace replacement ended.

So professional, competent and accommodating! They’ve fixed things other major companies had me thinking I was stuck with, and came up with affordable solutions for my 100+ year old house, both electrical and plumbing. I couldn’t be more pleased.

Buyer beware. Mainstream Electric is a rip off and a scam. They refuse to address the issue. I had them come to clean my ducts and vents. Prices around town to do the same were from $350 -500. Mainstream had me sign for three years for $1500. Asked the salesman if that was to include the ducts cleaned once a year and was assured it would mean that. Later I found that ducts only need to be cleaned every three years. Two men came with what I was told was "the new way" to clean the ducts. No vacuum, etc. Took them about 45 min. I commented again on how it did not look to be efficient at all. The two men shoved my furniture out of their way and left it there. The vents were as filthy as before they came. I have noticed no difference with the dust level or furnace efficiency. I asked for further information on what exactly was included in their STANDARD THREE YEAR PLAN and have yet to receive, only the brochure page. If all I am getting for $1683 (with tax) is the duct "cleaning", I have been ripped off and have written them that I want a refund. Customer service is another one of their low points. They may as well tell us they could care less about our concerns or their service, they are only interested in scamming money out of us. I do not believe they deserve any stars, but must assign so it is one.

Mainstream staff went out of their way to make sure I received great service. From the first person I spoke with to make the appointment to Jaymin who did a great job, you can tell they are truly invested in providing quality service and having happy customers...and I am one of them! After this experience, I can't imagine calling anyone else for any problems in the future.

Mainstream Electric went out of the way to schedule our electrical repair a day ahead of originally planned. Marc, our electrician, new exactly what needed to be done and was quick and methodical in accomplishing the task. He also gave us a couple of estimates for modernizing the rest of our rather old electrical installation. Prices were rather steep but I’m sure the quality of work would be excellent. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

October 2018 I had a bad sewage backup. I called Mainstream to help. Boy did they ever help! They coordinated the clean up, demolition of affected areas of the basement, contacted and scheduled other contractors needed, and kept work flowing at a great pace. I took to calling them my Gatekeepers. For what truly was a horrendous situation after buying the house only 15 months before ... it turned out to feel like a positive opportunity. I appreciate their professionalism and willingness to work with me around my work schedule. Not once did I feel like they were trying to talk me into work that didn't need to be done, or try to up-sell me to something I didn't need. In fact, they were very conscious of how much all that work was costing me and tried to find ways to reduce the expenses without cutting corners. This year I called to ask for an air filtration system to be put in and get the air ducts cleaned. There were a few problems but Mainstream listened and made it right. The dispatcher is a gem. She apologized for the issues and acknowledged how that must have made me feel. Truly a one of a kind company with staff who care.
