Complaint Summary:  [redacted] purchase in the
amount of $1,183.17 was charged to a Special Event Account on February 6,
2015.  [redacted] thought that he had set
up automatic payments online to pay his monthly minimum payment due each month.  The account was not set up for automatic payment
and after missing the May and June payments, he was called by collections.  [redacted] then paid his account in full and
requested that we confirm that this will not affect his credit report.
 
Resolution:  I spoke with [redacted] on June 15, 2015, and
apologized for the events that led up to his account being sent to
collections.  I advised that I verified
that his credit history has not been impacted since we do not report on this
type of account.  I removed the collections
code from the account as the balance is now zero (0).  I apologized again for any inconvenience he
may have experienced.

I am
in receipt of your complaint forwarded to us by the RevDex.com.  As a representative of Macy’s
Executive Office, I was asked to review and respond to your concerns on behalf
of Department Stores National Bank.  I
had hoped to speak with you personally, but my attempts to reach you were
unsuccessful. 
I
was disappointed to read about the miscommunication you received from our
telephone representatives.  Be assured
that the service you described receiving is not indicative of the level of customer
service we strive to provide and we appreciate your bringing this matter to our
attention.
According
to the Department Stores National Bank Credit Card Agreement, if you have been
paying less than the New Balance on your Revolving account balance each month
and you then decide to pay your balance in full, you will be charged interest
charges on that balance from the first day of the billing cycle until the date
that your payment is received.  The
minimum interest charge is $2.00.  This
interest charge is for the money loaned to you during that period, and will
appear on the next month's billing statement. 
My review of this matter found that all interest was correctly charged
in accordance with the Credit Card Agreement. 
However,
I removed the $8.00 in interest charges on December 14, 2015, as a courtesy.   We cleared our internal records of any
delinquency associated with this issue since the delinquent balance was
entirely fees and interest charges.  We
requested that [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] delete the late payment history
for the months of September through November 2015 from your credit file.  Kindly allow at least seven (7) to ten (10)
days for the agencies to modify their records to reflect the information
contained in our request.  As of today’s
date, your account is closed with a zero ($0.00) balance.

misunderstanding has jeopardized our relationship.  Your business is important to us as well as

speaking with you, and I appreciate the courtesy you extended to me during our
discussion. 
I
was disappointed to read about the problems you encountered in receiving your
$955.80 credit balance refund after your furniture order was cancelled and for
the miscommunication you received from our telephone representatives.  The service you described receiving from our
staff is not typical of the level of quality customer service that we strive to
provide, and we appreciate your bringing the situation to our attention.  Please accept my sincere apology for the
delay in processing your refund check and for the difficulties you encountered
in trying to resolve this issue.
As
of December 21, 2015, we processed the $995.80 refund to your bank checking
account as you requested.  Your bank
should receive the funds within seven (7) to ten (10) business days.  As of today’s date, your Macy’s account

Dear [redacted], As of today, I still have not received the refund check for $535.68 as promised by Macy's since May 18, 2015.  The executive customer service representative from Macy's name Rhea B. said she would call me back with update on the refund check last Monday 08/03/15 with tracking for overnight the check to me.  She never did.  I called to follow up with messages left at ###-###-#### but received no responses.  It has been more than 3 months.  It is not getting anywhere.  Should I start to file a claim with small claim court?  Quick summary - refund request put in on 04/30/15, followed up on 05/18/15 and was advised that a refund check will arrive within 7-10 business days, and that was never happened.  I called to follow up more than 20 times and got the same answers that the check will be issued.  I verified online account and found no refund transaction for $535.68 from April 30, 2015 through July 07, 2015.  I contacted Revdex.com and received  a response from Macy's Executive Customer Service with an empty promise again.  This time they showed online that a refund transaction initiated on 07/08/15 but no check was scheduled to be issued.  They lied about the check was sent out and got lost in the mail.  I asked for a copy of the check or check number and date and they could not come up with the information.  The complaint ID is [redacted]###-###-####

It is unfortunate that Mr [redacted] is having issues with the purchased of his Chevy Tahoe.  The vehicle is 14 years old after all and was purchased AS-IS(see attached).   As far as the Jake Sweeney dealership knows, this vehicle is not a flood vehicle.  Jake Sweeney is not...

in the habit of selling Salvage, Flood, Junk or Lemon vehicles to retail customers.  These vehicles are titled as such and directed towards auctions, junk yards etc.  Looking at the Carfax(see attached) which was disclosed, the Chevy Tahoe was a 1 owner vehicle and was predominantly owned and registered in the Cincinnati area.  I bring this up because most flood vehicles are sold at auctions and sent to other states.  The Carfax and Title does not indicate that this was ever a flood vehicle either. We would be happy to try to help Mr [redacted] into another vehicle but we cannot guarantee the same payment. [redacted]

Unfortunately, support for these promotions from our various merchandise suppliers varies greatly, which makes it difficult to offer promotions for blanket use uniformly across the store and is why our coupons and promotions have exclusions. While we understand this may cause some disappointment when a customer wants to buy an item not covered by a coupon, we list the exclusions clearly and prominently on each coupon. The Polo Ralph Lauren Gellar Cargo is excluded; therefore, the sale code did not work when you attempted to use it for your online purchase.   Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention and giving me the opportunity to respond.
