After review of the account, it shows that the account was enrolled on New Start with a balance of $1597.21. During the program the customer used $1754.03 on the account.  There were 8 payments made totaling $1215.00.  The amount that was credited to the account for the new start program...

was $1064.88. The program was not completed so once the account closed the balance came back to the account.

A review of the account shows the termination notice was sent to the customer on 06/22/2015 with a disconnection date of 07/06/2015.  We have no record of any return mail from the postal service and no record of a payment agreement established on the customer’s account prior to the...

termination date of 07/09/2015.  
In the event a customer's service is turned off for non-payment and they do not have verification of hardship, we require the customer to pay a security deposit and the delinquent balance to have their service restored.
 
The amount of the security deposit is calculated based on the two highest consecutive bills from the past year. The average from those two months is then recalculated for a 45 day period. The deposit is held until the customer establishes 12 consecutive months of good payment history (no late payments) therefore we are unable to refund your security deposit of $815 at this time.  Accrued interest is automatically applied to the customer’s standard billing account annually in January @ 1.5% interest.

All payment arrangements are based on the balance on the account and the customer's usage history.   Based on the customer's balance the lowest arrangement offered would be $500 initial payment and $446 per month.

I am rejecting this response because: 1At the time of the first payment plan, I was told by Mr. Michael B[redacted] that there would be no further charges once I paid the money owed to Eversource. Mr. B[redacted] already explained to me about the failure of the company to make the correct projections in regard to the second payment, but I don't see how that is my fault...and by my fault I mean that I should pay for their inability to project how much money I should have paid back initially.  Furthermore, what is stopping Eversource from now telling me once I pay this next round of overdue payments that there will not be yet another "Ooops we didn't project how much energy you would use and now you owe another $400 or $500 in back payments." Both of these payments errors were due to Eversource's lack of scrutiny on their part...incorrect meter readings and then incorrect usage projections.  Fair is fair.  I paid what I was told to pay.  Any additional money that they lost should come out of their pocket.  Maybe next time they will pay better attention to who is reading the meters and who is making those projections.  It seems somebody is not doing their job.

A review of the account shows the customer made a payment today (09/04/15) for $306.00. The pending disconnection has been cancelled therefore there will be no interruption in service.

I am rejecting this response because: We received a notice from Eversource in Nov that they wanted a security deposit or they would shut off our electricity. We could not afford this so we went to the Revdex.com. After this Eversource sent us a message through Revdex.com saying they would disregard the security deposit and monitor our account for 60 days to determine if they would charge a security deposit in the future. It has been less than 30 days since that message and they again send us a notice to pay the deposit of 1940.00 or they will shut off our power. We are able to pay our electric bill each month and as they can see we are never late on any payment, we pay the full amount on time each month, we our an account in good standing. We can barely afford to pay our actual bill but we still do it. Translate  Desired Resolution / Outcome Desired Resolution: Billing Adjustment select Desired Outcome: We would like Eversource to disregard this security deposit, as we are an account in good standing and it has only been 27 days since the message stating they would monitor for a 60 day period. A review of the account shows that we have received the letter from the plumber 04/04/2017.  The service is going into the tenant's name for the first floor.  For the second floor the customer would need to fill out a vacant dwelling form.

I am rejecting this response because: no one is answering the known question, HOW IS THERE USAGE WHEN I HAD NO HOT WATER AND MY HEAT WAS BARELY ON?! The news reported a story on them because they've been charging customers outrageous prices for services in the winter, If that doesn't warrant an investigation then someone isn't doing their job. The rate at which they're charging me for basic utilities is ridiculous. Had they charged me $300 for the first month I wouldn't even be contacting you, however my bill is 2x as much as it should be and I've only been a customer of theirs for a month!! Who charges their customer $600 for one month of service?! They're charging too much with hidden fees and unbelievable rates and you're not seeing that. This was obviously a waste of my time and now I see why people don't try to resolve their issues this way. Its a waste of time when the government allows businesses to treat people this way, this is why the economy is failing and why people living in the u.s. are still living in poverty while people working for companies like eversource will always get ahead. I have no reason to lie, our pipes were frozen from the snow storms which is why we had no access to hot water, the landlord has since fixed the issue. If our heat is staying on at a base temp of 65-68 degrees and we were UNABLE TO USE HOT WATER, how is there enough usage to warrant a bill being so high?!?! Something is Addi g up regardless of what they're saying.
