Gerber Collision & Glass has reviewed the complainant's rejectionWe have the necessary documents to show that we did get authorization for tear down from the owner of the vehicleGerber Collision & Glass still stands by our original response that the shop was unable to reassemble and return the complainant's vehicle as they requested when [redacted] deemed it a total loss

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I have reviewed the document that was signed by my husband and there was nothing about a tear down of the vehicle that we authorized It only stated that we were responsible for repairs of of which there were noneand to remind Gerber Collision and Glass this was an accident caused by [redacted] Insurance's Client I will warn others about Gerber's business habits should they ever get involved in accidentI will never ever bring a car to any collision center, especially not this one Deceptive practices by a business does not make "legal" okayAlso the estimate stated it was not an authorization for repairs We were offered for the full BB Value or to keep the vehicle by [redacted] which we planned to do since it was our only vehicle They did a tear down of the vehicle before I even signed the title I had no choice but to sign the title over once they fully damaged the car Why did Gerber Collision go forward with a tear down when it was already claimed a total loss ? I have filed a complaint to the State Attorney General with photos of the damage from the accident and a photo of what the car looked like when my husband went to pick it up and drive it back to [redacted] to sign the title over that day [redacted] said they were not aware of a tear down and extended the rental car for three days I have also forwarded all documents to the State Attorney General's Office, and will also be filing to the State Insurance Commissioner [redacted]

There was no invoice because it was done through insurance with State Farm. I picked the car up. That's when I discovered that they had damaged the electrical system
The complainant's vehicle came into Gerber Collision on 10/After obtaining the proper authorization by owner as well as ***, Gerber Collision started the tear down processDuring this process the damage to the complainant's vehicle exceeded the threshold for *** and was
deemed a total lossDue to the nature and the extent of the damage Gerber Collision was unable to reassemble and return to the complainant as they requestedTherefore Gerber Collision will not be able to fulfill the complainant's settlement
We have been in contact with the complainant to address their concernWe are in possession of the missing part and have notified complainant of the sameComplainant is scheduled to return to the shop today 2/to have this issue rectified. Tell us why here
The complainants vehicle is still currently at the shop having concerns addressed, we have provided daily status updates to the complainant and will update when the vehicle is complete
Gerber Collision and Glass is aware that the complainant has been to the dealership to have their concerns address and was made aware that that several items needed to be addressed by Gerber. Gerber Collisions and Glass has attempted to contact the complainant regarding their repair

Gerber Collision and Glass has offered to pay for an additional diagnostic at the *** dealer in addition to the other diagnostics that we have preformed and a max of days rental for the complainantAt this time Gerber is not responsible for the damages as they were not a result of our workmanshipOnce the complainant has secured a time and date with Gerber Collision, they will secure the rentalIf there are any further concerns the complainant will need to contact ***

I am rejecting this response because: I am still working with American Family Insurance to have the repairs made to our carAmerican Family has assigned our case to a physical damage adjusterI am currently trying to arrange a date to have the car properly repaired at Community Honda in Orland Park ILI hope to have all remaining repairs made in the next two weeksAmerican Family has confirmed our claim will remain open until the car is repaired correctly.
