Dear Dispute Resolution Consultant,Thank you for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the concerns presented by the complainant. We have reviewed this matter and would like to present the following. The complainant’s statements indicate they enlisted the services of another...
individual to manage their products and services with GoDaddy. The complainant or a party authorized to act on their behalf acknowledged and agreed to the following agreements upon conducting business with GoDaddy:• Universal Terms of Service Agreement• Domain Name Registration Agreement• Domain Name Proxy AgreementThe latest version of these agreements can be found at: https://www.godaddy.com/legal-agreements.aspxGo Daddy offers private registration services for select domain names via an affiliate company, Domains by Proxy. This is an add-on service which customers may manage; including the cancellation of the service, from within their respective Domains by Proxy account. Account management is a customer responsibility. The domain name in question was registered via online transaction on June 29, 2009 for a one-year term, for the period ending June 29, 2010. On May 25, 2010 the complainant, or an authorized party accessing the account on their behalf, renewed the domain name for a 5 year term via online transaction. This renewal extended the domain name’s registration until June 29, 2015.On March 12, 2012 the complainant or authorized party added private registration services to the domain name via online transaction. The private registration offered by Domains By Proxy must match the length of the domain’s registration, and was added at a cost of $32.96.On June 24, 2015 the complainant or the authorized party manually renewed the domain name registration with associated private registration services for another one-year term. This is for the term ending June 24, 2016.On June 30, 2015, the complainant contacted GoDaddy’s 24/7 Customer Care Center to dispute the renewal of the private registration service stating they did not have the log-in information to cancel the service as the authorized party that managed the complainant’s account was no longer available to contact. RESOLUTION:GoDaddy has upheld its agreements in good faith with the complainant and honored its terms of service. If the complainant cancels the private registration service from the respective Domains By Proxy account by August 31, 2015, GoDaddy will refund the most recent private registration renewal fee as a one-time exception to our Refund Policy. Any previous purchase or renewal of private registration services for the domain name are non-refundable.EDUCATION:The complainant may find the following links from GoDaddy’s help center useful:Canceling Private Registration for Your Domain Names:https://www.godaddy.com/help/canceling-private-registration-for-your-domai...⇄ Policy:https://www.godaddy.com/help/refund-policy-8849Thank you again for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the concerns presented by the complainant.Kindest regards,[redacted]Office of the CEO - GoDaddy

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I have since had my account merged back to my original 1st account (A) and would like GoDaddy to do as stated by providing me with the basic managed [redacted] membership: "If the complainant does not wish to use the Website Builder plan, they can cancel it from Account B, and GoDaddy will provide them with Basic Managed [redacted] hosting for a one-year term in its place as a goodwill gesture."
Regards,
I feel it is very important to let others know that I have not been tendered to from the go daddy site. I paid (not much money) over a month ago for an email address, that they can not get working for me-they made me pay more money just to get into an email that was not working. They got me in for a week and now nothing, they have made me change my password almost a dozen times. If their business needed to get up and running at this snails pace they would be out of business. I have asked to have them refund my money and release my domain, so that I can use another server and they will not. Please let people know that they have flaws that they are not fixing and can leave you in a situation of being completely stuck by them. I started this business 5 weeks ago, have spent hundreds of dollars on promo with the email set up through them that does not work. Very polite people on the phone, but never have fixed my problem to the end. I hope they get these reports!!
Dear Dispute Resolution Consultant Dear Dispute Resolution Consultant,Thank you for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the concerns presented by the complainant. We have reviewed this matter and would like to present the following. The complainant acknowledged...
and agreed to the following agreements upon conducting business with GoDaddy: • GoDaddy Universal Terms of Service Agreement• GoDaddy Domain Registration Agreement The latest version of these agreements may be found at: [redacted]The complainant purchased the Domain Name in question on June 29, 2005 for a one year term during an online transaction. They subsequently manually renewed the Domain Name in question on: • April 30, 2007 (1 year term)• June 2, 2008 (1 year term)• April 14, 2009 (1 year term)• July 1, 2010 (2 year term)• July 6, 2012 (1 year term)• April 1, 2013 (1 year term) Prior to the Domain Name in question’s scheduled June 30, 2014 expiration, GoDaddy sent multiple notices pre and post expiration to the complainant. Per the complainant’s account preferences, GoDaddy was instructed to not automatically renew the domain in question. On the date of expiration the complainant’s purchased and agreed term of registration ended. After this expiration date GoDaddy (at our own expense) provided a 42 days grace period for the complainant to renew or redeem their domain. Account management is a customer responsibility. RESOLUTION: GoDaddy has upheld its agreements in good faith with the complainant and honored its terms of service. The Domain Name in question correctly followed the normal expiration life-cycle and was acquired by another party. The party who acquired the Domain Name in question has elected to list it for sale as a Premium Domain Name through the GoDaddy Website.EDUCATION:The complainant might find these articles useful. What happens after domain names expire?[redacted]What are Premium Listings?[redacted] Thank you again for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the concerns presented by the complainant.Kindest regards, [redacted]Office of the CEO - GoDaddy
This company should not be allowed to continue business in the USA, they do not have the ability to manage their products properly, and is costing are country millions of dollars a day I am sure.
The service in question is the shared hosting service..I have been devlopeing websites for 15 years, and in the last 3 years mainly, godaddy has gone from ok to the worst in the business.
The websites continually get hacked, they continually crash, and the customer service is rude, ignorant, and incapable of properly helping the client.
There is nothing you can do once you have signed up with them, except to pay someone like me to move it to another server, they will not help you, and they will not offer any type of support, other then to say that it is simply not their fault, without even looking at the issue.
The amount of time, money, and anger put into hosting sites on godaddy is wrong, anyone who signs up for godaddy shared web servers will not be happy, and simply become another angry american for the day.
I hope this review stops at least one person from signing up with this business, in my opinion, they are currently the worst company doing business as a web service provider.
GoDaddy says: On December 3, 2015 the complainant contacted GoDaddy’s Customer Care Center and afterwards cancelled the free Windows Hosting Plan in question. They now wish to have that plan restored and support 5 websites.
Customer Response: GoDaddy fails to acknowledge that this cancellation action was taken by customer AFTER call with Customer Care Center which indicated no adverse issues would result from this action. This was utmost concern of customer and the reason for the proactive Customer Call Center call. Customer IMMEDIATELY re-contacted the Customer Call Center after taking the cancellation action, as it became evident the advice from the first Customer Call Center interaction was WRONG. The consideration offered by GoDaddy as amends is not equal to what was lost.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I understand their position and the purpose of the said service, however, there were definitely some breakdowns in the process to get the protected registration removed, that I had no control over. This required the involvement of their developers to fix whatever the problem was prior to being able to ultimately cancel the service, prior to the automatic renewal. This left me with no option, but to wait until they could resolve the problems on their end, which unfortunately wasn't resolved until a couple weeks later, after the services had already renewed. That being said, I appreciate their gesture of good faith to resolve this matter. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.Additionally, we appreciate that GoDaddy has rectified the issue with the Google search.
Regards,
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Please see the deposit dates referenced in the message. No deposit of any kind has been made on those dates even after working with Godaddy staff to correct the issue which has been confirmed twice by their staff as resolved.

Dear Dispute Resolution ConsultantThank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We have reviewed our customer’s correspondence and the GoDaddy account in question to which we would like to present the following.Prior to the purchase of products and services our customer...
acknowledged the following agreements:• Universal Terms of Service Agreement• Website Builder Service Agreement• Quick Shopping Cart AgreementThe latest version of these agreements and other legal agreements may be found at:http://www.[redacted]We sincerely appreciate our customer’s candid feedback regarding the products they purchased and will ensure their concerns are fully reviewed by the appropriate parties. Website Builder includes functionality that allows users to sell product online, however it does not include all the features one would find in a traditional e-commerce solution.Quick Shopping Cart is a dedicated e-commerce solution which may be used in conjunction with Website Builder or as a standalone solution. Unlike Website Builder, Quick Shopping Cart’s sole purpose is to create an online store and as such, includes all the features one would need to develop an e-commerce website.Resolution:GoDaddy has acted in good faith upholding our agreements with the customer. As a onetime exception, GoDaddy has issued a refund in the amount of $23.62. Thank you for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the concerns presented by our customer.Kindest Regards[redacted]Office of the CEO - GoDaddy
It is in fact true that I was able to transfer my domain name out of GoDaddy, and for them allowing that, I appreciate it.
However the only issue I have remaining (and I did try to reach out to the Revdex.com to update my complaint, to reflect this new information) is that I was basically in a position where I had to renew my domain name, as it was set to expire 2/24/16 and it was set to "be transferrable" 2/20/16 - with that said, I paid 17.17 to renew the domain name for one year, not knowing first and foremost if GoDaddy was going ot release my domain, and I did not want it to expire on 2/24/16 in the case that I had to wait until 2/20/16, and if said transfer took longer than 3-4 days I'd have lost the domain.
My new domain registrar has advised that I request GoDaddy refund me the 17.17 -- and from what I was able to find (and I could be wrong, I'll be honest and say that I'm not 100% sure, since it seems GoDaddy's terms change on the fly) -- but their website shows that if a request is made for a refund on a renewal within 48 hours, it will be refunded.
I do not however know if that applies in my case or in which scenarios is does. With that said, I would appreciate the refund, since again going by the information I had before me -- domain can't be transferred until 2/20/16, domain expires 2/24/16 -- I did what I felt I needed to do (thinking that in the end they were not going to let me move it until 2/20/16 anyhow) and renewed the domain.
If they can take care of this as a credit back to my credit card, I would be immensely grateful.
Thank you.
This company has caused me unneeded stress. Their customer service DOES NOT EXIST. All they do is continually tell you that things will be fixed in 12 - 72 hours. Once 72 hours passes, they are nowhere to be found for support. The worst experience ever! Their website builder 7 has crashed (something I'm paying for by the way) and all my webpages that I developed (my website) are gone and so is my access to website builder 7. I can not edit my website and they are in no hurry to help me. I don't how they can legally be in business. Currently I am losing business and development time because of them. They are extremely frustrating, I would avoid them if you like your health.
Thank you for the opportunity to address the concerns presented by our customer.
Upon conducting business with GoDaddy, our customer acknowledged and accepted our agreements, found at
href="https://www.godaddy.com/legal-agreements.aspx">[redacted]
GoDaddy takes our customer's privacy very seriously. Other than as described in the GoDaddy Privacy Policy, found at [redacted], GoDaddy does not provide customer information to others without express permission.
Our customer’s contact information may have been gathered from the Whois information for their domain name(s).
Per our registrar agreement with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the contact and registrant information listed for a domain name must be made public in the Whois database. The Whois database is an Internet service that finds information about a domain name or IP address. False information is a violation and may lead to the termination of a domain registration.
RESOLUTION:
GoDaddy upheld its agreements with our customer in good faith and honored its terms of service.
GoDaddy offers private registration services as an add-on service for select domain names via an affiliate company, Domains by Proxy. Information on what benefits Private Registration provides and how our customer may add the service to their domain(s) may be viewed at the links below:

We renewed a domain with GoDaddy, they took payment for the domain and did not renew. The day it expired they emailed saying the domain expired. So I renewed and paid again. At this point goDaddy had taken $60 from my card for the domain renewal. The domain still did not renew. The domain was down for days, until I transferred it away from them. They promised they would call me back at 9:30AM their timezone, and did not. I chased up at 10:30AM and they said. There is not domain support until Monday at 9:30 their time.
They have failed to call me back, or refund the double charge. This is the second time this has happened.
Dear Dispute Resolution Consultant,Thank you for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the additional concerns presented by the complainant.Contrary to their statement; the complainant did not reach out to GoDaddy's customer care teams in September, 2014. GoDaddy's customer care teams attempted to connect with the complainant via phone on the dates of August 21, 2014 and February 5, 2015 and were unsuccessful. No other contacts from the complainant were made between those dates.Furthermore, the complainant was also previously provided information by our customer care teams on how to cancel Protected Registration on August 26, 2013. While we make a best effort to partner in our customers’ successes, our customers must also be responsible for their actions or lack thereof. The Protected Registration for the domain in question was removed on October 4, 2015. At that time, the complainant may have canceled the domain name and received a full refund for the latest renewal transaction. However, the complainant chose to dispute the transaction in the form of a chargeback through their financial institution. This chargeback removed the funds from GoDaddy, and the domain name in question was removed from the complainant’s account per our terms of service. If the complainant has not received these funds, they would need to contact their financial institution for further assistance. As there appear to be no other active products in the complainant’s GoDaddy account, no further renewals would be assessed in this account. If the complainant maintains multiple GoDaddy accounts, it is their responsibility to manage each applicable account, including renewal settings.Thank you again for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the additional concerns presented by the complainant.Kindest regards,Mike L[redacted]Office of the CEO - GoDaddy[redacted]Scottsdale, AZ 85260
GoDaddy has not provided good customer service to me. I warn others not to do business with this entity.
Look out for Godaddy cause they won't look out for you! I have been a customer of Godaddy's for 14 years, I have been using their domain registration services as well as their hosting services for myself and many of my clients throughout this time. I am a website designer and developer so hosting companies are crucial to me and to my clients. Recently, I called their technical support because I noticed I was being billed twice for what I thought was the same service. I noticed this exactly 4 hours past the 30-day refund policy, so Godaddy won't refund my money, even though their technical support person told me to move my files over and cancel that account. That is a different issue, but definitely says something about how they value their customers. What my complaint is about and what you should be concerned with if you're considering Godaddy as a host is, recently I have come to find out with mine and two of my clients websites, that Godaddy does not update their servers automatically for their customers, and even though their servers and the software on them are outdated they also don't switch you over to a newer one, unless you are willing to pay more fees. For example, Wordpress has been a widely used website development platform for years now. Recently I've had to call Godaddy three times to get my clients servers updated to allow them to run Wordpress sites because their servers are so slow. Godaddy even says it supports Wordpress websites, but that is only available if you pay all these fees to switch you over. I have recently realized that Godaddy doesn't care about their customers, they are more concerned with spending millions of dollars on their Superbowl commercials and not looking out for their customers or treating their customers with common courtesy. They don't value loyalty and therefore I will definitely be spending my time looking at other hosting providers versus calling Godaddy support again, I think that is a better use of my time.
Thank you for the opportunity to address our customer’s additional concerns.
We stand by our previous response. Based on the customer’s original complaint it appears the customer’s contact information was gathered from their WHOIS listing for the domain name. The Internet Corporation of Assigned Names and Numbers ([redacted]) requires accredited registrars like GoDaddy to publish the registrant's contact information, domain creation and expiration dates and other information in the WHOIS listing as soon as a domain is registered. GoDaddy offers private registration services as an add-on service for select domain names via an affiliate company, [redacted]. This service masks the registration information required by [redacted] and replaces it with [redacted]’s information.
While GoDaddy does offer private registration services, it does so as an add-on service and at a cost. While other providers may provide this for free, [redacted] is a business with staff and overhead. As such their services cannot be provided at no cost.
Thank you again for the opportunity to address the additional concerns presented by our customer.
