I called and had my service disconnected on 12/27/2018. Received a bill in January for 12/25-1/24 for $173.40. Continued to be billed for Feb., March. I paid the full $173.40 in March because I was threatened with being sent to collections. I should've only been responsible for 12/25-12/27 but paid the full amount. Was also charged $112.22 in March for unreturned equipment. I was waiting for return boxes and finally called again to get them. Everything was returned. Called several more times for resolution to no avail. Got a bill from collection agency saying I owe $207.97. Can't get resolved with agency or Frontier.

On 6/19/19, Miyhi or Madelyne, from Frontier Communications, indicated there is a continuous outage issue in the area (in-house ticket: ***). As a senior citizen, it is important that I have access to a landline should I have a medical emergency.
It was indicated to me that affected residents are not e-mailed nor called regarding the issue. As of today, 6/25/19, I have not had my landline available for a week. This has not come across as a priority nor concern with any of the employees at Frontier Communications!
I want a MSProject or Excel breakdown of all the problems from 1/1/17 to 6/30/19 that have affected myself and the surrounding the community.
Back on 1/18/19, Frontier Communications held me hostage for nine hours to have a technician come to the house (the appt was scheduled back on 1/15/19 or 1/16/19 and I was told I had to be available from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM on 1/18/19, no explanation as to why the window was nine hours instead of a four-hour window).
At 5:02 PM on 1/18/19, my son had to call and find out why the technician hadn't arrived between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM as expected, and there was no reasonable explanation provided to him. The technician finally arrived about 5:20 PM.
Multiple requests have been made to speak to a manager or regional director in the state of CA, and I am/my son is informed that the request will be passed along, but there is no guarantee that a call will be made to me.
There is a continued lack of accountability from Frontier Communications as to why there are continued outage issues.

My home and my elderly mothers home are side by side on a rural road with no cell service, the landlines and internet service in our homes are what we must depend on in case of emergency and she has multiple serious health issues. We have had verizon service for 33 years myself and 50 years for her. Service has been subpar at best always but since November 8 of 2018 when a Gas company tour the low hanging lines down in the road we have had either NO or intermittent service. They finally repaired the line the second week of February 2019 after both she and I as well as sisters who dont live here had spent countless hrs countless days countlesscalls complaining. But then on April 13 2019 a tree fell on the line tearing it down again and in spite of repeated promises the line is still laying in the road and/or creek and we still are without service or intermittent service at best. Our bills never change and in spite of promised credits for the months without service they continue to bill me for the time they promised to credit even after I had told them I didnt want to end up with a 300.00 bill and was assured to just send in 61.00 that month and it would all be taken care of. My mom cannot receive incoming calls right now and this may or may not send as I never know when or if ill have internet.
Its Frontier not verizon

Frontier representative spoke to Ms. regarding the ongoing issue
regarding repair to downed phone line. A direct correspondence was sent to the
local manager for Pineville, WV to address this issue immediately. Regarding
the customer’s time without service from November 8, 2018 thru February 12,
2019, a credit in the amount of 419.65 has been applied to the account. This outage was due to a gas truck pulling
the phone line down. The service was restored but then damaged by a
tree during a storm April 13, 2019. Thank
you,Amara

We have been without internet service for over a week now and all we are told is there is an outage in your area and they are working on it. I feel this is very bad business. I need internet for my job and I am very limited as to getting internet service out where we live so I would like to have reliable service. It should not be out this long.
Frontier has investigated the above statements and offers the following response:
Frontier technical support worked with Ms. on June 27, 2019 to reprogram the modem and confirmed services were reset and working properly.
Frontier issued appropriate credit to Ms.’s account for reported time out of service.
I cancelled my service on 2/2/2019 with a billing cycle that just ended where Frontier had increased my monthly bill with no notification from $30.99 per month up to $74.99 per month. Upon cancellation I setup another service. Frontier stated they would send me a return box/envelope for the Modem that was on loan. The return envelope never was recieved and I still have the Modem. My bill came a month later and was for the full month of February at $74.99. I called Frontier biling and they said to ignore the bill that the pro-rated amount would be automatically adjusted withing about 3 months. After that time period they tacked on $100 charge for the Modem and then sent it to collections. I have tried to rectify the situation with Frontier with no luck and they want me to pay the full amount and send the modem back. This time they say they will actually send me the return envelop/box but we'll see. I think they just want my money and delay to get me to just pay it.
Frontier has investigated the above statements and offers the following response:
Frontier advises that prior to termination, Mr. was billed (and thus incurred charges) through the end of his billing cycle.
Upon investigation, Frontier advises on each billing statement the following notice is provided: Upon termination of service, you must return equipment owned by Frontier.
Frontier advises that failure to return Frontier equipment or returning equipment in a damaged condition (subject only to reasonable wear and tear) will result in the imposition of an equipment fee that may be substantial.
Frontier has not received the G1100 router serial number ***; Frontier has sent a second return package to Mr..
Frontier attempted to reach Mr. to advise of the above but was unsuccessful. Frontier did leave a message for Mr. that included direct contact information.

every time it rains we have no phone service and we are out for days. We have no cell service where we live. When we report it to frontier, sometimes it is 3 weeks until they come and by that time if the phone is working they say call us when the problem is happening and when I do it is so long before they come the problem has fixed itself. This has been going on for a year now.

Please help I am on my last draw dont know what else to do.
In the complaint Ms. expressed concern regarding two missed installation appointments and being charged for service she never received.
Our records indicate the customer had a Residential Install order created March 6, 2019. The due date assigned to this order was March 11, 2019 but the technician did not make it to complete the installation. The order was then changed to May 12, 2019. The remarks on the install ticket state, “There was no answer at CBR, the address is a group of trailers. The technician missed this date as well. Customer contacted Frontier to inquire if the technician was going to show for install, as she did not want to wait any longer. The ticket was referred for the second time, so the technician did not show up.
The INET portal confirmed there was no usage on this account. The request was submitted to credit the charges applied to the account in the amount of $126.56. On July 16, 2019, the credit was applied and approved, and the balance now reflects zero. The Outside Collection Agency (OCA) will be notified and they will update the credit report.
Ms. was contacted but we were only able to leave a message on her voice mail service.
I require certain internet speeds for my occupation. I was moving and really wanted to make sure the house I purchased had such speeds, without them I cannot work.
I called Frontier multiple times to confirm that the address I was moving to had the speeds I need. Multiple employees confirmed. These calls were admittedly recorded by Frontier.
The technician arrived to install our internet service and informed us that we would not even be getting a third of the speed we had been promised.
I called to complain and try to get the company to make this right and they told me it was my problem and that they wouldn't even take ONE penny off my bill.
I am now stuck in a half million dollar investment with no way to get proper internet speeds until another ISP can expand my way.
Frontier Communications has received notification of a complaint from the above individual.
According to the complaint:
Ms. advises that she has been experiencing intermittent speed and connectivity issues with his Internet service from Frontier.
Frontier has investigated the above statements and offers the following response:
As stated in Frontier’s terms and conditions, actual internet speeds may vary, and any speed advertised is not a guarantee. Frontier’s promotional materials also clearly state “Actual speeds may vary and are not guaranteed. Service is subject to availability.”
Internet speeds are based on multiple variables including limitations of the computer, wiring inside the home, time of day, distance from Frontier’s equipment, among other things.
Frontier also advises that actual Internet speed at the service address, and the ability to access various Internet services will vary as a result of connecting Wi-Fi, multiple users or devices on the same account, distance to serving facilities, the capacity, performance or limitations of inside wiring and personally owned equipment. Additional information is available to customers at https://www.frontier.com/nyinternetdisclosures.
Frontier advises that it is continually working to improve its network and its customers’ experience; however, Frontier has no specific plans for upgrades in Ms. Vanveen’s area at this time.
Frontier regrets any inconvenience Ms. may have experienced as a result of the above matter
We are confident that our response has been sufficient to address these issues. If Ms. has any additional questions, please contact Amy B, xt ***. BLUF: We have always had *** as our Internet Service Provider but are being harassed by Frontier for almost $500 in Internet Service Fees which we have never and cannot receive from them at our location. They have turned us over to a collections agency who are also harassing us and taking adverse action against our credit causing significant distress and issues with special security and the adjudication agency for my high-level security clearance. Frontier has NEVER provided service to ***. It is physically impossible given the simple fact they do not have fiber cables installed to or on our property.
1) 1/22/19 – Ordered service (200/200 w/TV Deal Offer) via telephone
2) 2/5/19 – Took 1 Day off for 1st Install Attempt
a. Frontier Technician arrived and spent several minutes inspecting the area and making phone calls
i. Informed us he could not install service to 408 because there were no physical cable runs to our property
ii. Stated they would have to reschedule my installation (requiring me to take off work again) after another party installed an underground fiber cable from the nearest junction point to our home
3) 2/13/19 – Took 1 Day off for 2nd Install Attempt
a. Frontier Technician arrived and spent considerable time inspecting our property and making phone calls
i. Informed us he could not install service because there were no fiber optic cables ran to our home and that they’d have the work done and reschedule my installation
ii. No work was ever performed and Frontier did not contact us from this point forward
4) 6/25/19, 1129hrs. –
a. Received a call today at lunch, message stated call regarding a debt collection
5) 6/25/19, 1206hrs. –
a. Called back and sat on hold for more than 2 minutes; abandoned call
6) 6/25/19, 1518hrs. –
a. Called this number which was also in the voicemail from earlier
i. Spoke with Credit Protection Association (CPA) who verified my identity and informed me of a $472.46 debt under #*** and asked me to clear up the alleged debt. When asked for an explanation she proclaimed it was for Frontier service at ***t which was to have been disconnected on April 1, 2019
ii. I explained the following points to CPA
1. We have never had their service at this address—it is physically impossible as they do not have connectivity to our property
2. Last year we spoke with one of Frontier’s salespeople who scheduled an installation at 408 which would require me to take off work to accomplish
3. I took the day off work and when the technician arrived he spent several minutes inspecting the area and making phone calls; eventually telling us he could not install service to 408 because there were no physical cable drops to our property and that they’d have to reschedule after another party installed an underground fiber cable from the nearest junction point to our home
4. Weeks later we received a call from Frontier requesting another install date which we complied with by taking another day off work
5. When the Frontier technician arrived, he too spent considerable time inspecting our property and making phone calls; and like the first told us he could not install service because there were no fiber optic cables ran to our home and that they’d have the work done and reschedule yet a third time. This never happened.
iii. The credit collection agency stated they would note the account and terminated the call.

On April 3rd we order *** extra innings and paid the company for the full season $180.00, my regular monthly bill was $134, next billing sickle I received a bill for over $190.00 an increase of almost $60 dollars due to changes non authorized or requested to the account, after multiple calls to the company and speaking to multiple people they could not fixed the bill and the best they could do was a monthly bill of $160, we decided to cancel the service on May 20 and requested a refund from the $180 dollars paid for MLB, I called on May 27 to follow up, I was told a request was submitted, call again on June 17 and was told no request submitted and a new request was being sumbmitted, next call June 25 received a response that NO REFUND will be issue claiming a valid charge. *** extra inning run from March to September therefore canceling the service a refund should be issue just like any other service that is cancel.

We paid for service and made the decision to change providers on July 2, 2019. Frontier choose to disconnect the service on 6/242019, without notice from us. We did not provide a disconnect notice and they acknowledge that they had an order for disconnect on 7/2/2019. They refused to reconnect service without a fee. We weee also told that we are being billed until 7/12/2019. These unfair business practice to disconnect service without notice and then charge the consumer is not ethical.
Thank you for referring the complaint of *** to our office for review, we appreciate you bring this matter to our attention.
According to the complaint, Mr. advises they decided to port to another provider on July 2, 2019 however the Frontier service stopped working June 24, 2019.
Frontier investigated and advises, the aforementioned account disconnected July 2, 2019. Records indicate internet usage thru June 30, 2019. Frontier spoke with the customer to discuss the complaint and advised of the above. Frontier advised a manual credit has been applied to the account for $20 for the issues. This credit resulted in a credit balance on the account which will be refunded within 1-3 billing periods.
Frontier apologizes for any inconvenience the above matter has caused and trust this information will assist you in closing this complaint.

Frontier is a scam! I cancelled my service because I was moving one day into a new billing cycle and they refused the pro-rate my last month. I was charged the entire month of service when my tv and internet was cancelled before my billing period even ended. You would expect after paying a ridiculous amount of month each month for service over 4+ years, they would credit me the last bill. Horrible customer service. I will NEVER use Frontier again and will make sure everyone I know avoids them as well.
Frontier charged my bank account multiple times and refused to give my money back and on top of that I have to deal with bank fees due to their fraud. My monthly payment was only $80 and I always had on time payments no reason for them to multiply unauthorized transactions. My WiFi is always very slow and their customer service staff is very impolite and disrespectful on the phone.
For over 3 years now, I have been paying for an upgraded rate for 75/75mbps but only getting not more than 15/15mbps. A couple of times I complained, they troubleshot, seems to have been fixed, but when I get back from a trip, it's around 15/15mbps again. I hardly watch TV. January I, finally, bought a HD Tv but with the old topbox where I had with an old analog tv, my current HD tv does not work. Called them, they said I needed a HD topbox or a DVR, but they wanted to charge $17 for a DVD or $11 for a HD box. I decided it was not worthy since I hardly watch tv. Well, they apparently, conveniently, "forgot" to delete the tv charge. Then lately, as I called to complain, now they don't even wanna talk to me because the account was not in my name. Never mind it hasn't been for almost 30 year or more! But they never complaint about getting my checks, but now that I have a complaint and do not want to pay anymore for service I am not getting, they can't talk to me!! Three months ago I started deducting the services I am not getting and deducting proportionally for the internet speed I am not getting. Now they say I owe them for those deductions for services I am not getting. Enough of corporate bullying their customers!! Next stop will be channel 13 and tell everybody we have scammers at Frontier Communications!!
We have had no phone or internet service in a rural area where there is no cell coverage. Requests to Frontier to address finally resulted in a service appointment that was quoted 14 days from time of outage. Many calls have been made to try to schedule an excellerated service appointment. There is an elderly woman with a medical condition and people who rely upon Internet service for work. They have refused to move up the appointment despite being aware of the situation. Many calls have gone nowhere, they do not even notate in their system that previous calls have been made and the nature of the situation. We have had to move into a hotel for the safety of our relative and for our ability to work. This is unacceptable. If every time there is an outage I have to wait 2 weeks for service to be restored ( if they show up) I would have to move. Thankfully we have found another service provider in our area and will be switching immediately. I’m sure we will be charged a disconnect fee and for the time we were without service because this company is the bottom of the barrel when it comes to customer service. If only I had read the slew of terrible reviews before I had signed up with them. Garbage Humans. Annoyed I can’t leave ZERO STARS.
Internet went out over Memorial Day weekend. Called Memorial Day and was happy and surprised that there was a human on a holiday to talk to. Reported the problem so they set up a ticket to have it fixed. They did get it eventually working; however, at the same time I requested a new line be put in to a separate building for a separate router. Gave Frontier my data so they could run another background check, which they did, and they set up a ticket for a new line. In the meantime my current service hasn't been working so they set up a ticket to have that line "reinstalled" as well. I've had several orders set up for these two new lines, the latest being yesterday, and no one calls or shows. I receive texts to be home on a certain date and time. I rearrange my schedule to be there, and no one shows or calls. Last week's order had a note that the technician called me but no answer. A. I was home B. I didn't receive the call C. Why do they call if I've been told to be here? This again happened yesterday and I'm 100% certain they didn't call as I made sure my cell was with me. There was no call from Frontier on either my land line or my cell phone. I still haven't heard what's going on. I suppose I get to call Frontier again today and be on the phone for another hour and a half so they can make another fake appointment for me. Today is June 20. I've been without internet (and sometimes land line) since May 27.
WARNING: This is a public service announcement / consumer protection notice about Frontier Communications.
We were Frontier customers for our phone, internet and FIOS TV since 2010 when they bought out ***. Their service deteriorated and prices kept increasing so we finally decided to switch this year. We cancelled in February, and sent back their garbage equipment to them as soon as we received the boxes. (Yes, you have to ship to them; they don't have a local place to return things like Comcast). The UPS store warned us to keep our return receipts and track the packages because Frontier is notorious for claiming that equipment wasn't returned. They were so right.
I have confirmation from UPS that Frontier received the equipment March 11, and from Frontier that they processed the return March 12 and 13. On April 25 we received a $495 bill for "unreturned" equipment. We immediately disputed this and stopped the automatic payment for this with our credit union and with Frontier. Frontier did admit that they had the equipment, but said it would take 30-60 days to process the credit, and that we should ignore any future bills until they issue us a final statement. We received another bill and one past due notice later in May but ignored them as advised. But yesterday we received a notice from a collection agency.
I have now called Frontier 3 times and was told:
1) the equipment credit was currently in process, would be completed within 24 hours,
2) the credit was processed April 9, and
3) our balance was $0 because of the auto-payment they just processed.
Yes, they had successfully debited our account for the equipment on June 19. After talking with the credit union, we are now trying to get that reversed. I am supposed to receive an email and call back from a Frontier supervisor to confirm that the equipment charges were credited, but I am not really expecting that will happen. I have also filed complaints with the FCC and with the state attorney general's consumer complaint office.
You are now all warned of Frontier's fraudulent business practices and harassment. Frontier is selling its Washington state business to ***, but I would still not trust that the corporate culture will change soon.
First, let me lay the groundwork.
I work for ***, and we are located in Newbury Park, California (Zip 91320), and recently moved office locations, from a smaller to a larger office space. The new location was recently renovated, so we had to put in and activate phone lines and the internet, which we did. The first tech came in to activate the four phone lines (and internet) and left. Mind you, at this point, we were still housed at the old office.
Now to be fair, we upgraded during the transfer of services to the new office:
Upgrading internet from FiOS 75/75 Static IP to our FiOS 700/700 Static IP bundled with our Frontier Secure Pro Bundle with 4 unlimited phone lines (our 4 current #'s) which would be our One Voice Nationwide lines that have unlimited local & long distance calling in United States and also includes features included like, Call Forwarding, Call Forward - No Answer, Call Forward - Busy, Hunting, Caller ID, Call Waiting, Three-Way Calling & Voicemail etc. under a 3 year term.
Upon discovering that our lines did not have a dial tone, when we moved in one afternoon, we called Frontier Tech Support and they forwarded all calls to a cell phone in the office, and also sent a tech in the very next morning. The tech, Steve A was great, he quickly identified what the issues were, resolved them, and then walked us through the installation of our phones, after asking which specific lines were to be available at which office station.
He did this quickly, and efficiently, because, and I quote, "I would feel terrible to leave you folks without working phone lines."
After he was finished, he made sure the lines worked at each station, in the configurations we specified, and THEN, made his goodbyes.
All in all, we were totally impressed by the service that Mr. Ashton provided to us. Wherever he is, I hope he and his bosses read this, and commend him on his exemplary service to a Frontier account. Well done, Mr. A! Well done, Frontier!!
First of all, the service is really slow and sometimes doesn't work at all. When I try to get help with IT I call I am on hold for a very long time and then the problem never gets resolved after several tests and what not. Last time they were supposed to send a technician out to fix the problem and the tech was a no show and no call! I had to take off work and lost money because of it and it still wasn't fixed!
Now I recently received an email saying my promotional price was ending and my bill would go up! I already pay way to much for slow service! So I decided to cancel my service. When I called I got through right away (because I wanted to cancel and Frontier wants to try to convince me to keep the service) and the customer service rep started the cancellation. She was very nice but informed me that I would still have to pay the final 2 weeks of the billing cycle! No other company does this! They ALWAYS prorate the bill!
Then I told her that I wanted to know what the $7.50 charge was from my previous bill. She said that when you make too many changes to your services Frontier will eventually start to charge you! I asked her what changes had I made, and explained to her that I had never once made a change to my service. She kept telling me the same thing in a slightly different way and not giving me any details about the changes except the date it happened which was on 4/30/19. I finally got frustrated and asked to speak to a supervisor.
I was on hold for about 20 mins when she came back and said they would waive the $7.50 charge, still no answer about the details of the change and I didn't get to speak to the supervisor like I asked! Later I looked in my emails and realized the change she was talking about was when I CHANGED MY PASSWORD! Are you kidding me!? Frontier charges to change my online password?!
I was and have been so frustrated with every aspect of this company that it only reinforces the fact that I made a good decision to cancel my services with Frontier!
Therefore NO I CANNOT recommend Frontier to ANYONE.
