Frontier Communications Reviews (4127)

I waa told on a RECORDED LINE that I would have to pay 0 cancellation fees. (I will find that recording if I have to.) I just received a bill for $20 when I should have had no more payments to them. The $20 is going to go into collections since I can't pay that. They lied to me and told me I would have 0 fees and I believe that is means to file a claim for falsifying information to your consumer.

The Complaint states:

· Ms. states she disconnected her Frontier account, stating she was advised she had to make a disconnect payment.

· Ms. states she made a payment on 07/13/19 and states she was advised there would be no cancellation fees. Ms. states she then received a bill from Frontier for $14.50.

Frontier has investigated the above statements and offers the following response:

· Frontier records show Ms. Frontier account was disconnected 07/09/19.

· Frontier records show the payment of $49.61 was due 06/28/19 however Frontier received this payment on 07/09/19, causing a Late payment fee of $9.00 to be accessed to the account and is valid. The late fee appeared on the following statement that printed 07/10/19 along with the $9.99 Broadband Processing fee, this is also a valid charge per Frontier terms of service located at www.frontier.com/terms. These two charges minus the prorated router credit brings the billing to $19.41 with a due date of 07/29/19. However, in this instance Frontier has credited the account down to zero. Ms. will receive a zero rated invoice from Frontier, this will print 08/10/19 and be mailed to the billing address on file.

We trust that this information will assist you in closing this complaint. We apologize for any inconvenience that Ms. experienced as a result of the above matter.

restore services, internet and phone, credit on account since November 26, 2018, (frequent disconnects) credit for late charges and taxes charge on service I haven't received. Credit for frontier secure package at 10.99 that I never received. Turn phone back on as I am on Medical override as I need a phone for my health issues. They have turned it off. I have spoke with them several times to turn it back on and I get conflicting amounts to turn it back on. Also they say they cannot find the medical override. I have over 37 verifiable trouble tickets with tech support since November. I have also contact Tier 2 tech support. They have sent me over 10 modems claiming that would fix the problem and it hasn't. I have the lines coming to the house checked also. I have been on the phone several times with these people on hold for over 2 hours waiting for a supervisor to come on the line and never come on. Also there is days that I was on the phone with them for 4-6 hours trying to get this taken care to no avail The reason why ;they shut my phone off now since 7-8-19 when I called to make payment arrangement to avoid a shut off. The supervisor would only make payment arrangements on the whole amount of $430.31 and that includes the amount of the bill that I am disputing. I was not going to enter into an agreement for that amount as that would say that I agreed to those charges that I am disputing for the internet. The supervisor at collections was very rude and this is not the first time that they have been very unprofessional. I am a disabled senior citizen on social security on a fixed income so I do my best to keep current with this company. It has been an on going issue This is the only company that I can go through for my phone and internet as cell phones do not work where I am living and I can not afford a cell phone. The Revdex.com will have to notify me by regular mail since I do not have access to my email through Frontier nor do I have a cell phone.

I have been out of internet service for 8 days now . My service provider is Frontier. There are only 61 houses without service so not a big priority for them. After repeated phone calls there is no timeline. There is a rumor of July 8 going around but no one knows what that means. Good thing for ***’s where I get free internet service. Why 5his company is allowed to do this is unbelievable.

How do they get away with such lousy customer service? Extremely long wait times to report outages and they can still charge us for internet that’s not working! Please someone else come into the Western North Carolina area and compete with Frontier! It won’t be hard!

We had Frontier internet installed in June 2019. Our internet service has failed five times since installation. Each time, we were told it would be 8-10 days before a technician would arrive to fix the problem. Four times, my husband found the problem (shoddy installation each time, wires not affixed, not grounded, not protected from rain). Today, the fifth failure, we got fed up. When I called to cancel, I was informed that there was a “broadband disconnection fee” go $9.99 plus an early termination fee of $88+. I was NOT informed about any such fee by the salesman when I signed up over the phone. Regardless, I am outraged that they demanded this fee when they were not able to provide adequate service or support.

When I cancelled my service with Frontier because I was moving, I called them to cancel my account. The first time I called they said that they could not cancel my account because my account was "locked" which I felt was a scam, and they told me to call back a few days later. The next time I called to cancel my account, I was able to, and I asked for the final amount I needed to pay to be done, which I was told was $61 and that would take care of the final month. I then got a collections notice from Frontier in the mail for the amount of $70.99. When I called to ask them about it, they told me that despite the $61 I paid, the account was not deactivated for a few days, and those days needed to be billed, and the only way they could bill for a partial month was to bill for an entire month, and add a $9.99 service fee for disconnection. I asked for a supervisor and they told me none was available, and if one was available they would not do anything for me since I was no longer a customer. Frontier has been horrible to deal with. In the end I paid them as I did not want them to send me to collections and ruin my credit. I felt held hostage by these bullies.

It sounds like Frontier will make an effort to train their customer support staff to provide better information to their customers in the future. I would hope they place a priority on customer service, it was a very confusing and frustrating experience to figure out what the truth of the matter was.

We contacted Frontier to correct an issue with my 96 year old fathers e-mail account which is through our cable/internet package. During this process we found that my father was receiving copies of our billing statement and payment history. So we contacted Frontier to find out why he was getting our information at which point they couldn't figure it out. They did however offer to upgrade our services and lower the price by closing out the current account(1st) and starting a new one(2nd). Some of these instances took place via online chat which we have copies of for reference purposes; others took place on the phone. My wife asked numerous times if we would have any interruption of service or loss of recorded information and was told absolutely not(they ultimately lied about that as we lost all of our recorded info and were without service for over a week while we fought with them to correct it). we were told it was a seamless changeover. we were also told there would be an overlap of bills and to just call to ave them cancel the last bill from the old account The first step was my wife agreeing with them about a upgraded package and price which she did and everything was supposed to be all set aside from us finding out the actual changeover date(they were going to contact us the next day to let us know the actual date). The following day my wife received a voicemail message saying " stating that she was looking at an order that was started to increase my internet but it didn't look like I requested the increase and the order didn't go anywhere so she was cancelling the order." so the saga begins. We contacted Frontier again to find out what the issue was and went through the whole process again with all the same processes and promises being made and a date for the the changeover was set. I then scheduled to take the afternoon off from work unpaid to be there when they did the work. However, over a week before that date they shut our old service off at 3 a.m. and we didn't find out until the following morning when we were getting ready for work. My wife contacted Frontier at which time they told us that we had to pay them a 250.00 deposit to replace our service(this was the first we heard anything about this) as we were being considered a new customer. So my wife went back and forth with them to correct this issue and get the service restarted as my my 96 year old father lives with us and that is his only form of entertainment. They told us they couldn't restart it until the new install was completed over a week later(they could shut it off with out any issues though). So having taken the afternoon off from work unpaid and while I was at the house waiting for the service people Frontier contacted my wife to say they wouldn't be coming so I lost half a days pay for nothing. She then called them to find out what was going on and was told they couldn't upgrade our service as we had the best they offered already. We then rescheduled the hookup which was under a new account and lost everything we had on the old account and my wife had to take another day off from work to get the install corrected. They did show up that day and complete the install. Now the heart of the problem-- Frontier was trying to bill us for service under the old account and the new account at the same time. My wife called and chatted with them to try and straighten it out and spent dozens of hours on the phone and online chatting trying to correct the situation. They couldn't grasp the fact that they were billing us for two services in a overlapping time frame. My wife got frustrated with all the time spent on this issue and wanted to protect our credit rating and just decided to pay it. When she called to pay, she found out it had been sent to collections. She then called the number for the collections agency and made the arrangements to pay the bill again to protect our credit rating. Frontier instead sent a notification to the credit reporting agencies that we were past due. This is totally frustrating to us as we tried everything in our power to correct the situation from the day it was apparent what they did wrong. I don't think we should have had to attempt to pay this bill out of self defense like we did and having made the payment arrangements with the collection agency I can only imagine the hassle we are going to have explaining to them the error they made and getting a refund There are no local Frontier offices for you to go and correct these issues so you're forced to wait hours on the phone or online chatting. At this point we have probably spent dozens of hours on the phone and online chat. I'm pretty sure what they did was criminal but at this point we want a refund with interest and more importantly a correction to our credit report to remove this. This is an issue that was totally caused by Frontier from the start. We actually have had Frontier for years (under the old account) and had absolutely no issues with them until the day we called with a small issue and they convinced us to go with a lower priced program by ending the old account and starting a new account.

I called frontier to downgrade my internet service to reduce my monthly payment and my new bill went from $152 to $193!
Taking to their customer service representatives always takes too long, they bombard you with a million questions before they access your account, then they make you wait for 20 minutes and when you finally tell them why you’re calling the call will “accidentally” drop, they won’t give you straight answers about your issue and you always, always end paying a lot more than what they told you. I’m sick and tired of this company taking advantage of people!

Company advertised 12mps internet connection service. Understood that was probably "best case", but only needed 2.5 mps for service to be acceptable. Service speeds averaged around 3mps, but daily dropped below 1mps frequently as low as .2mps (and occasionally so slow the test wouldn't even run). after 3 efforts to fix the problem, the company's only response was to suggest I buy their 24mps service ( for considerably more money) in an effort to achieve a reliable 2.5 mps service. I'm torn between calling this false advertising ( it clearly was), but went with a service issue as the service frequently did not function- at all. My final complaint, after giving up on them and cancelling service, I paid the balance, but then recently received a bill threatening collections and demanding $39.95 ( service was 29.99 when in effect). It took three phone calls to find the billing was a mistake, but they still demanded $9.99 to process my disconnect. In light of their massive failure to provide the service I purchased I found this unreasonable. I suggested a legitimate company would offer a REFUND for failing to provide service, and received no response.

According to the complaint:
Mr. advised he experienced connection issues with his internet.
Mr. advises he disconnected service and was billed through the end of the month and a $9.99 Broadband disconnect processing fee.
Frontier has investigated the above statements and offers the following response:
Internet speeds are based on multiple variables including limitations of the computer, wiring inside the home, time of day, distance from Frontier’s equipment, among other things.
Frontier advised that Mr. has pre-paid for his services and was eligible to continue receiving service through the end of his bill cycle.
Frontier advises there is a fee of $9.99 when a customer discontinues broadband service.
A review of the disconnect call determined Mr. was not advised of the charge. On July 23, 2019 a credit of $9.99 was applied.
At this time Mr. has a balance payable and due of $25.96.

We are confident that our response has been sufficient to address these issues. If Mr. has any additional questions, please contact Amy Buchanan, xt ***. I was billed for services not received and continue to be harassed by Frontiers billing saying I owe them for a month of services that they did not provide.
attempted to cancel internet service with frontier by phone. 1st attempt at the end of April 2019 was unsuccessful even though the agent assured me the service was cancelled. 2nd attempt 1st week of May I recorded a confirmation #. The agent indicated the account had been paid in full and no further payments were needed. In June my credit card was charged $68.96. I disputed the charge with my credit card company and denied it. In July I received a bill from Frontier for $68.96. When I called Frontier indicated that I had not cancelled in April and that they have a May 9 cancellation date and that I owe for the entire month of May because I did not cancel prior to May 7.

At any given tobe I have contacted frontier about the quality of their service with my internet going out multiple times a day... the home phone shopping the same as well. They have also in the past changed the services that I had to what ever service they desired like my unlimited local and long distance to a different plan with out my knowledge. I just recently found out about this. It was changed in feburary of 2018 so I have been paying long distance for over a year. I have contacted frontier and also the office of the president....have been told I will revise a call back and never do. Frontier does what they want to do and does not care aboutt the consumer at all.

I attempted to process an online application for Internet service on Frontier Communications website - and received multiple messages indicating they could not "find me" and could not "process the application." I called their contact number - was led to believe they would accept the phone application (in liew of the online application) with regard to the advertised offer. Only when the agent was finished and asked for approval to process the applicaiton did I sto her and say: "You didn't mention the $200.00 Visa gift card that was part of the offer." I was then told that there was no such offer. In spite of that, this morning, I received an e-mail from Frontier Communications - with that exact same offer. As a result, I called again, explained the offer to the agent I spoke to - reading from the e-mail from Frontier, and specifically mentioned the $200.00 Visa gift card offer in my initial statement to him as to why I was calling. He said that he could help me and asked for significant information, including permission to perform a credit check - which I agreed to, based on the premise that he was processing the e-mail offer I had been extended from Frontier. Again, and only when the agent asked for permission to process the order, I said: "Not yet." I further indicated that he did not mention the $200.00 Visa gift card offer that I had called about - and he then said that offer wasn't available. It is unprofessional, and I believe illegal - for that agent to process an order, when they either knew, or should have known - that the order they were processing - was not the offer I had been extended and called and specifically asked for/about. And, for them to process a credit check, again, knowing, full well that I wasn't asking for (something other than the offer that I had called about - and informed him in detail as to what I was asking for/about) is, in my opinion, nothing shory of bait-and-switch at a minimum and fraud in a purely legal sense. In both instances, the offer I tried to process (online and over the phone) turned out to be something that Frontier Communications either would not honor, or more likely (again, in my opinon) intended not to offer either online or via telephone. Again, neither agent - despite being told of the Visa gift card offer (at the beginning of my call) continued to process the order - and apparently knowing full well - that they were processing an order - for something other than what I had called about and asked for specifically.

I want Frontier Communications to honor the offer they made - both on the MSN homepage yesterday - but also the order that I attempted to complete online on 7/11 and again on 7/12. The offer via e-mail to "complete" the order was a direct result of me entering my specific data (name, address, phone number, social security number, date of birth, etc), on their website, specifically, URL: https://internet.frontier.com/ pursuant to the MSN homepage offer posted on 7/11/19. The offer was "re-stated" in the e-mail I received (attached) which clearly shows NO RESTRICTION on the order, but rather states: (copy and paste from e-mail follows:

Online only!Order any Frontier plan today and get a $200 Visa Reward Card*

*Must be a new FRONTIER customer activating service through Internet.frontier.com. Limit one VISA Reward Card per household. Equipment, installation, taxes, governmental surcharges, and fees, including broadband router fee (up to $10/mo.), Internet Infrastructure Surcharge ($1.99/mo.) and other applicable charges extra, and subject to change during and after the promotional period. The offer, in my mind, seems pretty straight forward - ANY PLAN = $200 Visa Reward Card
I simply want them to honor their offer - and STOP doing credit checks when thier representatives know (from being told up front) what you're calling about - the $200 Visa Reward Card offer - but then process another offer and do a credit check for an offer you didn't ask for and didn't want.

Door to door sales of Frontier Cable/Internet resulted in deceptive information given with regard to cancellation of service that was misrepresented by Jason P Account Manager for Frontier Communications. I was told that if I was not happy with service I could cancel within 30 days. Install was unsatisfactory, cable and internet was intermittent on day of install. Long wait periods to speak to tech and customer service reps. Cable/internet service cancelled after 3 days of intermittent and dropped cable, TV not working due to cable/internet issues. When I spoke to Jason to let him know I was cancelling he apologized and said I would not have to pay anything as the equipment was not working properly. When I called to cancel, I was told I had to wait til end of billing period to get boxes to return equipment. When bill received a few days later I was charged $168.46 for 3 days of lousy and intermittent service. Customer service reps were rude I was told that because I had cancelled service call I would be assessed full month of cable/internet service and bill would not be prorated. When I told them what Jason told me, they told me to contact him and resolve issue with him. Customer service reps refused to allow me to speak to supervisor, very flippant and rudely told me that they were very busy and I would have to wait long periods of time. I asked to get return call -- that was a week ago and no one has called. I am disputing charges, however, Jason P, Acct. Mgr., Bronson G, Frontier Mgr., and Cameron (unknown position) have not responded to my calls, text or emails. Also submitted online communication to Daniel McCarthy, President of Frontier and still have not received response.

The internet was EXTREMELY SLOW so I found a better internet service and cancled frontier. So I called the company and closed my account or so I thought. Last month bill came month after I closed it, paid it. Then another one came so I called them again they said they were sorry and they'll make sure it gets closed and it was already paid in full. Same thing the next month so I called again then called my bank after to tell them the account for that company was closed and to not let any more transactions go through for them. Then about every two or three months I would get something saying I am over due for my internet payments. On 02NOV18. I am still getting statements for a monthly internet bill now 12JUL19. I have called countless times to try and fully close the account. Each time they said ok we'll close the account and the made a remark on my account that I wanted it closed. Then the next time I called in to try to close it they say oh yea I see the comment right here and they would right on top of that remark so it looked like there was only one request to close it. Horrible company

I canceled my WIFI Wireless service with Frontier on June 28 2019. Called the company twice to verified the cancellation. They did not canceled. When I called back on July 8 2019 the service was still active. They " closed " the account that day. Today July 12 2019 I called customer service to find out if my service was finally closed and was told by the Frontier Rep that my account will be generating monthly bills for a few months but to just ignore them. I think is wrong for a company to keep the account open and generating bills when they are not supplying any service. I do not trust this company and need your help please.

My internet stop working on a Tuesday July 9, 2019. I then called in to see what the problem was, the tech support and another department told me I have a balance if $40 and something cents. Which I just called in the week before and paid $100 and was told I can pay the balance in another two weeks. So I paid this after being transferred about 4-5 times. My internet is still not working. I have called ever day two times a day. Set on the phone on hold longer than a hour. I am being told that they will get to it, or their is no available dates to fix this problem, I am also being so if I want a credit I need to call in later. I called the corporate office. I was also not helped. I was told whatever customer service say, goes. I have been told when they come out to fix the problem I will be charged. When its not my fault that there product does not work. Its no way I could reach the internet box with out climbing up on a chair or a ladder. This company is the only one servicing my area. But something has to be done. I dont know how this company has became so big. Then I work from home so I talked to a supervisor by the name of daniel. I asked him for a note saying my internet is still not working. And they would be out no later then Monday. He told me they are unable to send emails. Which I know is a lie because I have already been sent 3 email about this issue already. Ticket number

Frontier found that Ms. was disconnected for non-payment on July 9, 2019. Frontier did place the reconnect order immediately once she paid the bill. Frontier had to open a trouble ticket for Ms. which was resolved on Monday July 15, 2019. The system needed to be reset and have a power recycle done on it. Hello Revdex.com,

Again I am coming to you because I have no other options. The service is very poor.I At least have to call in one time a week because I'm having internet problems. The information that was given to you about me having a payment plan was correct but I called in and made a payment and was told that I can make another one two weeks after I made that payment. When my internet was turned off I immediately called them and explain this to them. I told them I made a $100 payment and was told I can make a $40 payment in 2 weeks. No one wanted to go back in listen to that call. They insured me that my internet will be back up once I paid the $40 but this information was false. I when with out internet for a whole week and they only was willing to give me a $11 credit. I work from home and I'm constantly having internet problems and I can potentially lose my position at my company due to this problem. No one has reached out to me I have only received one email since this has happened and when I reply back no one has ever emailed me. Then onces I filed a complaint with Revdex.com then they tried to email me. This company does not care at all about their customers. You have to call thousands of times just to be transferred department after dwpartment. And once again im calling them now AGAIN because my internet not working.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Worst service. My daughter is forced to use this company because of the apartment complex. The company required a positive ID verification which is two forms of ID that need to be notarized and faxed. The representative stated he may be able to get manager approval to avoid the positive ID verification. After two days of her calling and leaving messages, the representative advised that his manager did not get back with him. A manager who doesn’t get back with a representative??? That isn’t a good sign. They do not accept a deposit until the ID verification is completed. Once the deposit is paid, took 24 hours for their system to acknowledge the payment. Once they get the ID verification and the deposit then the installation takes another six days. All this trouble and hassle for WiFi. She started the process before moving. It’ll hopefully be installed 12 days after moving into the apartment.

My Frontier service was connected on 4/1, then I disconnected 10 days later due to multiple issues with their customer service and overall service. I needed another port activated after I had to move the modem and the service no longer worked. I called customer service on 4/6 and waited over an hour before they could schedule an appointment for 4/9 to have someone come out to activate the port. I took half day off of work to be home for the appointment, and no one showed up, no phone call, or any type of notification indicating that they would not be there. I called customer service when no one showed up during the scheduled appointment time at which time I was leaving for work. I spent another hour on the phone trying to get through to customer service at which time they told me that their technicians were busy. I asked if someone could come by later that afternoon when I was back home (at 5pm) - they said no and that their technicians do not work past 4pm. This meant that the earliest they were willing to address the issue was 4 days later. After having issues with Frontier not showing up (they also did not show up for the initial set up appointment on 3/30), and their unwillingness to be accommodating after they made an error, I asked to cancel my service on 4/11. The representative said she would send a "box" for me to ship back the equipment and that my first bill would be prorated when I receive it. I never received this "box'. I called two more times and still received nothing and was approaching the 30 day time to return the equipment. I had to end up taking time to just return the equipment at a physical location. When I received my first bill, it was not prorated. Then they send me an updated bill with an additional $20. I called to ask why I was being billed for the entire month - what I was initially told at the time I terminated service was that I would have to pay for the initial set-up fee and the 10 days of service and that my bill would reflect the appropriate amount due. After I received this bill, they then changed the story to say that they can't change the bill, so I have to pay the entire amount and then call back in three months to allow them to cycle, etc. etc. - I didn't quite understand this. I waited the 3 months and called back on 7/12 when I didn't see any refund from them for the amount I overpaid. On 7/12, their story had changed yet again - this time they said that the first bill is not refundable and that I would not be receiving any type of credit. I asked why this would not have been communicated when I was terminating service in which case I would have terminated the service after the month was over since I would have had to pay for the entire month anyway. They did not have an answer. I'd like to receive my credit for paying for service when my account was already terminated. I've had several cable/internet service providers and Frontier is by far the absolute worst. Their business practices are questionable and they're clearly taking advantage of, and scamming customers.

We started a Frontier contract at our current residence on July 1, 2019 because we were told that when we move on July 13, 2019, that the new address would be serviceable. After scheduling the transfer over 2 weeks ago, we were contacted today with a statement saying they actually dont service the new residence. They are now as*** for a transfer fee to give us broadband, essentially charging us over $100 for two weeks of service.

I wish you could get zero star. This Company should not be called a company, it's not a legit one. I think someone is running it out of their basement. I've been paying $ 26.98 for more than 15 years. Last month, June 2019 , they decided to charge $155.21 out of the blue. I tried to reach them many times, it took forever to talk to a customer service representative, I told them that I didn't order anything or made any changes to my account, and that I was surprised that I was charged such amount, after many hours on the phone, they were unable to refund me my money back. This is a basically a theft. Cancel the Autopay if you have it on.
