Dear Revdex.com representative, The customer requested an evaluation in for studies completed at two institutions: *** *** College of Business Management and *** *** Studies UniversityVerified academic records were requested from the customer for both institutions, but
only one verified academic record was received (*** *** College of Business Management)A second and third request were sent to the applicant for the missing documentation, but we received only the same documents that were previously submittedThe customer wrote us in January 2016, but gave no indication that he would send the additional missing verified academic records for studies completed at *** *** Studies UniversityAs a result, his application was in activatedRecently, our staff reached out to the customer as a courtesy to see if he would like to continue with an evaluation and 'reactivate' his fileOur policy is to request an reactivation fee of $60, if applicants have let their applications expire after one yearIf we receive no response, the file is permanently closed and any documentation submitted is discarded. We do not understand the nature of this customer's complaint since he hasn't provided the documents needed to complete his service in the three years since his initial request for an evaluationUnless we receive the remaining required documents we will not be able to complete an evaluation for this customer with or without a reactivation fee.I trust this explanation is satisfactory to close this case.Sincerely,Kenneth ***PresidentEducational Perspectives, nfp
Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/04/06) */
Dear Revdex.com rep,
Mr*** submitted an application for evaluation, payment for services, and photocopies of academic records for evaluation to Educational Perspectives in February After a review of his credentials, it was determined that
we could not proceed with his evaluation without official academic records that indicated dates of enrollment and/or a date of graduation for the award of his degreeEducational Perspectives states our document requirements 'up front' on our website and application materials - we also provide detailed information to our customers regarding their obligation to submit the required documents so that an evaluation is completedAdditionally, our cancellation and refund policies are stated on our website, on our application, and in the instructions to the application which every customer must read and then sign, agreeing to the terms of our services
Educational Perspectives has made four attempts to obtain copies of official academic records from Mr*** (Feb 3, Feb, 26, May 23, and March 3, 2015), and to date, Mr*** has not submitted documents that can be evaluatedIn addition, we have attempted to contact his institution in Turkey to receive verification of the authenticity of the photocopies of he submitted of his educational credentials with the goal that we can move forward with his evaluationWe are waiting for a response to our inquiries from his school in Turkey
Educational Perspectives does not return photocopies of documents sent to our office - since no original documents were sent to us, there is nothing to return to return to Mr*** - we have explained this to him via email and in phone conversations he has had with our evaluation and administrative staff
I trust this explanation is sufficient to close this complaint as resolved in our favor
Sincerely,
***
President

Our records and correspondence regarding this customer claims do not reflect the statements he has made in his responseThe comments Mr*** has made in his complaint are not consistent with our history with this customer. Our policies regarding refunds, documentation requirements for an evaluation, and other terms and conditions of service are clearly stated in our materials, on our website, and on the application form which Mr*** presumably read, and then signed agreeing to the terms. Sincerely,Kenneth ***PresidentEducational Perspectives, nfp

I am rejecting this response because:It is simply unacceptable to keep payments for services not renderedIt is poor business practice to have that as your policy and doesn't seem honest.

Dear Ms***,I apologize for the delay in completing your evaluation; our staff is working hard to deal with an extremely high volume of student applications that were received in DecemberUnfortunately, we have no way to control the number of applications we receive from individual applicants, and
posting information on our website is the best possible way to make applicants aware that there may be delays in completing evaluation requestsI have asked that your evaluation be prioritized for completion, and you should expect to receive it within the next two days.I trust this explanation and apology is satisfactory to you.Sincerely, Kenneth ***PresidentEducational Perspectives, nfp
Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:I made several phone calls to try and addres my concern of risking to loose a chance in college tmdue to delay and I even spoke with the supervisor who promised finally to expedite my evaluation but that never happened Once again as a result of that the report was completed and half month later I feel they are not to charge me for a day evaluation fee if they did not meet that requirement
Sincerely,
Vincent ***
Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/11/11) */
Dear Revdex.com rep,
Mr*** is correct; Educational Perspectives requires that applicants from *** submit their original documents - this policy is outlined on our website here:
*** The first step in our application process is that applicants determine the documents that must be submitted based on their country of educationOnce they have completed our application and followed the instructions, they are asked to agree to our terms of serviceIt is not possible for an application to be submitted, unless the terms have been agreed toContrary to Mr*** statement, Educational Perspectives have not been dishonest - we have provided all of the information that is needed in order to prepare his evaluation, prior to having him submit his application
Our policy regarding refunds is stated clearly, and in such a way that our applicants must read the policy and agree to its terms, as well as our terms of agreementWe do not provide refunds once an application has been submitted, or in those cases in which applicants have a 'lack of attention to details' as Mr*** states that he had
Educational Perspectives is committed to providing excellent customer service and to preparing the evaluation that Mr*** has requestedOnce he submits the original documents from which he made the photocopies he submitted, we will continue the evaluation process with the goal of completing his evaluation
I trust that this will be settled favorably for our organization
Sincerely,

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/11/11) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I reject the response of Mr*** on the following grounds
A company is entitled to making policies suitable for their businessesMy contention is the sneaky ways of Educational PerspectivesA link for the country-specific information IS provided when a user starts the application process but not everyone will click on it and proceed to submit the requestFor such simple things and small amount of money involved people do not spend too much time in reading all the tiny bits of detailsOnce user submits the order along with the credit card information, he is done, no going back from thereYou are trapped, either provide what is being requested by them or lose your moneyIn my case I did not have originals and there was no way I could get them short of traveling to *** Throughout my career no one ever asked for originals from my schools to employersEducational Perspectives was informed about my inability to provide the originals
Other companies will review the application and see if the user has provided the information needed for processing the applicationIf paperwork is not complete they would let you knowFailing to get my forms evaluated from Educational Perspectives, I contacted another company and got evaluations within a week periodThey analyzed my application and let me know if they would proceed with it or not, not simply charging my credit card and then start to look for my documentsIf for some reasons a user does not have originals, he/she still has to pay because of the mistake made in submitting the information to Educational PerspectivesI wonder how many other customers might have lost their fee in a similar situation like mine and contributed it to the revenue for the company
Mr*** is quick to mention about my 'lack of attention' but he is committing the same by not paying attention to the spelling of my nameShould I sue him for intentionally misspelling my name? Anyone can make such a mistake but should not be penalizedGood businesses do not do that because this is not how they make money but by providing the services to the customers
My issue is not with the amount, $85, but the way this money is taken for meAll they did for me was to receive my application as well as credit card information, charged $85, and sent an e-mail asking for my originalsThat's allDid they provide me enough service for charging this much amount? I wish I can start a business that can pay me this much!
I feel Educational Perspectives is following policies which are very sneaky and in my opinion dishonestSome of these include;
1) Charging a fee before even starting an application
2) Not providing information on the requirements of evaluations on the main page
3) Not reviewing the documents before proceeding to evaluation
4) Hooking and trapping customers without providing them opportunity to cancel
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/11/13) */
Dear Revdex.com rep,
Our documentation requirements are posted on our website, in such a way that our customers have the information available before they request our servicesContrary to the statements made by this customer, unless a customer sends us money without an application, it is physically impossible to make a payment before an application is startedIf payment is received from a customer (by check or credit card) and no application is submitted, the money is refundedIf payment is received from a customer and they haven't agreed to our terms of service (on our application) the payment is not processed, or it is refundedContrary to the statements made by this customer, his documents were reviewed prior to proceeding to an evaluation - this is why he received correspondence requesting the documents that he was instructed to submitThe statements made by this customer do not in any way reflect our process for accepting applications or paymentEducational Perspectives is not acting in a 'sneaky' manner and we are not 'hooking and trapping customers without providing them opportunity to cancel' - the customer can cancel at any timeThis complaint from the customer is unreasonable in that he faulting our organization for his own failure
I request that this be administratively closed in our favor
Sincerely,
*** ***

Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2014/11/24) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
No, Mr*** has not proposed any solution and should not be closed in his company's favorI did not expect him to do so based on what I have seen from his company so farCustomers come to his company's website looking to get evaluation services, like they would find elsewhereBut his company's business model is to 'hook and trap'; once a customer submits information, documents and agrees to the terms and conditions, he/she is completely trapped, can't get out of it whether they provide any service or notI have not seen such business anywhere elseOnce you agree with their terms and conditions, you lost your money, as if you have 'given the consent to be robbed'
I agreed with him that all the information is provided on the website but not on the main page and for such services people do not spend a lot of time to read itsy bitsy detailsThis is the advantage his company is takingThe simple thing for a customer's point of view should be, that even though I agreed and paid money for your services but I decided not to use it anymore because I do not have all you need to provide me servicesBecause you did not really do anything for meYou reviewed my information and transcripts attached and asked for the originals through an e-mailDoes this much service deserve $85? Of course no one will agree with meI wonder ho many more people have experienced the same with this company
I made a mistake for not paying attention to the details and paid the price with Educational PerspectivesI lost my $with them but got it done from another more reputable company for even lesser priceMr*** made a mistake in writing my name incorrectly but did not have to pay a priceWe all make mistakesOnly some of us can make money from others' mistakes
Thank you for providing me the opportunity to clarify my position
Kind regards
