Review: On March *, 2014, I purchased a used 2013 Ford Escape from East Hills Chevrolet in [redacted]. On this purchase, I was charged $895.00 for VIN ETCH. Prior to the [redacted]e, this fee was never discussed with me by my [redacted]esman [redacted]. I've included a copy of the purchase agreement signed by [redacted] that clearly states there will be no dealer fees and there is no mention of a VIN ETCH. Additionally, at the time of sale, this charge was completely hidden from me as I wasn't shown or given the motor vehicle retail order prior to leaving the dealership. In fact, the only way I found out about this fee is when I asked that a copy of the retail order be faxed to me. You will see in the attached copy that the fax date was March **, 2014. When I saw the fee, I immediately contacted [redacted]. After several discussions, he finally admitted that the VIN ETCH was never performed and that the $895.00 would be refunded via check. On March **, 2014, I received a text from [redacted] that said the check was signed on Saturday March [redacted] and was being mailed on March [redacted]. Nothing was ever received. After numerous follow-ups with [redacted], in which he said he was a man of his word and the check would be sent, I have not received any refund. I believe I have given the dealership every opportunity to correct this issue, however, I now need the Revdex.com's help.Subsequently, on Monday April ** 2014, the vehicle would not start. My mechanic determined that the battery was dead and needed to be replaced. [redacted] assured me that the vehicle had been serviced prior to sale. However, I believe this was not true as a typical pre-salee inspection would have easily identified the weak battery. I have not requested a refund from East Hills for the $197.67 that I spent to replace the battery because I'm convinced, similar to the VIN ETCH fee, my request would be ignored. Instead, I am including it in this complaint.Desired Settlement: I would like a check written in my name for $1,092.67. This is the $895.00 for the VIN ETCH that was not performed and never discussed with me either prior to or post sale, as well as the $197.67 for the new battery. I've included a copy of the invoice for the battery.

[redacted]
The check for the Vin Etch in question was has been issued and went out in the mail. A full inspection prior to delivering the car was done on March [redacted] 2014 and passed. As per NY State inspections and there was no issue with the battery nor was there one prior us delivering the car to [redacted]
I will send you a copy of the stub tomorrow for the amount of $957.65
Thanks in Advance

Review: Signed a contract with East Hills Subaru to buy a new 2015 Subaru Outback on 5/**/2015 with a trade-in, the trade-in vehicle was appraised at the time the contract was signed and the trade-in value of $8800 was agreed on. The new vehicle required a factory order and was told it will take 6-8 weeks to arrive. I was also informed that the vehicle will be re-appraised on the pick up date but as long as there's no significant physical damage from the time the vehicle was appraised, there will not be an issue. The salesperson also said that 'we are not that kind of dealership'.I parked my trade-in vehicle in the garage for the whole waiting period. On 7/**/2015, I was informed that the new vehicle has arrived and ready for pick-up. Went to pick up the vehicle on 7/**/2015 and on that day, I was told the trade-in value of the vehicle is now $6500. They told me that they ran a carfax and something about 2016 models being out that have significantly brought the value down. The manager (who never introduced himself) took me to his room and told me that while I'm getting less for the trade-in, if I purchase their extended warranty, I can actually save around $1880 so it will be about the same as the original $8800 trade-in value. I honestly can not believe what is happening here, I would expect something like this to happen with a no-name dealership but not at a reputable (at least I thought it was) dealership.I got up to leave this scam, the manager then asked me how much do I want for the trade-in, I said what we have agreed on in the contract. He threw the papers on the desk and simply said 'you car doesn't worth that much and the manager who signed the contract no longer works there'. Just because the manager who approved the contract doesn't work there anymore, they would just decide to break the contract?? Shouldn't the dealership still honor what the company agreed on??Desired Settlement: Getting the vehicle on the terms agreed on the contract!

Response:
Dear [redacted],We stipulated on the Buyers Order that will would reappraise [redacted]'s vehicle when her ordered vehicle arrived and was ready for delivery. [redacted] contends that we didn't honor what we had agreed upon, but she acknowledged that her vehicle would be reappraised at a later date. We absolutely honored what we had agreed upon. Unfortunately, [redacted]'s vehicle was worth less. I understand [redacted] is frustrated and disappointed. Below is the response we put on [redacted] this morning. If you need anything further, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.Sincerely,Phil W[redacted]Chief Marketing OfficerEast Hills SubaruDear [redacted], I just read your review. I've spoken to the managers on duty this past weekend to understand the situation better. I also reviewed your Buyers Order. Your Buyers Order, which you signed on May **, 2015 stipulates "Subject to trade reappraisal at time of delivery." You didn't mention this at all in your review, but based on retail market conditions and valuations of similar vehicles at regional auctions, unfortunately, your vehicle is worth less than at time of contract signing. As a [redacted] certified dealer, you were already receiving the lowest possible pricing allowed. As such, we were unable to lower your vehicle's price any further to compensate for the lower trade-in valuation. Our only option was to offer you an aggressive discount off the purchase of a warranty as a goodwill gesture to retain your business. I apologize if this was not an option foryou. We have refunded your deposit as of 12:00 pm today. We wish you all the best. Sincerely, Phil W[redacted]Chief Marketing OfficerEast Hills Subaru

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
The response from the business is not acceptable to me, I don't believe any vehicle would worth 25% less in a matter of 8 weeks with no change other than an additional 40 miles on it. What the dealership has done is extremely deceitful and disrespectful of the customer's time. I do not wish to receive any other response from the business as they will only be excuses and an insult to the customer's intelligence. But I do wish to keep this complaint open as I'm yet to see the deposit being refunded to me. Mr. W[redacted] has mentioned that it was refunded as of 12pm on Monday, but I have not seen the refund activity on my account yet.

Review: I ordered a NEW chevy 2015 tahoe two weeks ago, went to the dealer today at 3pm, finished all the papterwork, picked up the car and left the dealer at about 6pm. It took me 30min to get home. When I turned off the engine, I saw 613 MILES displayed on the screen. I was shocked. It's supposed to be new car. But since it's too late to go back to dealer, because they are closed at 6pm on sat. I had to park the car on the street. At [redacted]. which is 10miles away from the dealer. I am thinking about going back to the dealer, find out how woud I get a new car that's driven 600miles. I could have go to them first before I file the complain, but the problem is, the longer I waited, the more likely they will accused me of driving the vehicle for 600miles myself. Since it's been 5 hours since I left the dealer, there is no way I can drive 600miles in nyc. I do want to make it as a proof, because I only drove about 10miles since I picked up the car. And the bluetooth device shows that more than 1 users has connected to the car, so this car can't be new, they never mentioned this car's been driven before. and 600miles is way of the limit.Desired Settlement: Hopefully I can get a brand new car replaced.

Dear [redacted],Thank you for giving East Hills Chevrolet the opportunity to respond to [redacted]'s complaint #[redacted].The vehicle [redacted] purchased was a vehicle that was swapped in from another dealership. This vehicle was a specific vehicle with options and accessories that we did not have in stock. We secured this vehicle from Seacoast Chevrolet in New Jersey. Seacoast had swapped this vehicle from a Chevy dealership in Maine. The miles on the odometer were the result of driving the vehicle from Maine to New Jersey and then to New York. This vehicle was never registered or titled to anyone other than [redacted].The use of the Bluetooth was most likely due to the driver who picked up this vehicle syncing his phone to the vehicle's Bluetooth system. As you know, New York has a hands-free law. We should have unsynced this phone when we got the vehicle back to our showroom. For that we apologize. We met with [redacted] on April **, 2015 and we offered to exchange his vehicle. He left our showroom and has not made up his mind on the exchange. We are waiting on his decision. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.Sincerely,

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
1. I was never told the vehicle has 600 mileage during any period of sale.2. While I went back to the dealer to resolve the issue, NJ was never mentioned. In fact, I was told the vehicle was picked up from maine which was 360 miles away from the dealer, and the dealer in maine originally picked up the car from Connecticut which was 180 miles away from maine. I asked to see more legitimate form of documents that show the detail of transportation, they were unable to do so.3. I did ask to exchange the vehicle at the beginning. I requested to exchange the vehicle exactly as I demanded on the purchase agreement form. I was told the only way to exchange the vehicle is, to choose one from their inventory. Apparently it was not a rational offer, because they don't have the one that I demanded in stock. The closest one they had was about $18000 higher than I originally ordered. Then I asked them to order one from factory, but it was clearly turned down.4. The situation has changed since I went back to the dealer and met the staffs in person tried to resolve the problem. I haven't received enough convincible statement from them. Also I found out some very important information were missing on the certificate of sale. Now I am requesting the dealer to rescind the contract, refund whatever amount was paid.Connecticut - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Response:
Good afternoon. The customer came into the dealership last week and has since resolved all outstanding items. I am assuming there is a delay between the customer communicating to the Revdex.com and the customer speaking to East Hills Chevrolet. There is nothing further remaining. If you hear differently, please contact me immediately.Sincerely,[redacted]

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
Dealer didn't really provide any convincible document to prove their saying that all the mileage was from transportation, and they didn't feel it's inappropriate to hide this information from customers. In fact I was told by one of the [redacted] that it's not the normal routine to inform customers the mileage, customers are not supposed to be informed.

Review: My problem first started when I dropped off my 2012 Chevy Cruze for a water leak in the roof, recall issues , and oil change, I am entitled to a loaner car, I told the woman on the phone that I have 2 babies and I would need a loaner car of equal or greater value to my car so I can fit my girls car seats and double stroller, (which it says in my lease agreement I am entitled to) . I get to the dealership and they go to give me a 2007 beat up chevy cobalt that I can not fit my car seats of double stroller in, (which the cobalt has ignition recalls and are not safe to drive unless repaired), after much discussion, they finally loan me a chevy Malibu , which is fine since it is equal in size to my cruze. This was on June *,2014. After about 2 weeks I start to wonder why I have not heard anything from the dealership and I begin to call them and leave messages on there voicemail with no answer back. Finally after a month of no contact from the dealership and repeated phone calls to them I decided to write a letter General Motors to see if they can find out any information on my car. Yesterday, July **, 2014 [redacted] in service finally calls me back to tell me my car is ready. Today July **, 2014 I call them back and speak the receptionist to tell her I can not come today to pick up my car because I have no one to watch my girls and I am babysitting my nephew and tomorrow will be away so I can pick it up Monday . They receptionist tells me they have been trying to contact me since June [redacted] and they are going to start to charge me a storage fee. She then connects be to someone named [redacted], and he proceeds to tell me they have not received any of my messages and have been trying to call me since June [redacted]. I can show you my phone records, I have no prior phone calls from them , and you will see all my phones calls to them on my records. I also have to emails I wrote to General Motors. They were rude from the moment I dropped my car off to them, and there was no need for them to be disrespectful to me on the phone. I feel I should not have to pay a storage fee.Desired Settlement: I do not have to pay a storage fee, and that the dealership issue an apology for the way they spoke to me and handled the situation.

Review: Back in January, my husband and I went to look at an SUV to purchase. We decided that we liked the vehicle and put down a deposit on my husbands debit card. We later changed our mind and cancelled the process. My husband was out of town for work so we were unable to go back to the dealership to get our deposit refunded till March. When we went there in March, we spoke to the manager [redacted] about the situation. He said that he had to check the records to verify that we were never refunded and that he would call us back. No one ever called us back and we have called over a dozen times.Desired Settlement: I would like my deposit of $100 refunded as soon as possible.

Review: I went to this dealership on 11/**/15, and left a 100 dollar deposit on a car which the seller said was totally refundable if car was not purchased. Firstly they ran my credit about 7 times without letting me know. The sales person was aware that I was purchasing a home and didn't want all the inquiries to affect my score, she lead me to believe only one inquiry would be made to credit bureau. One lie after the other I decided to go home and think about the deal. On 11/**/15 I text the sales person Molly D[redacted] and told her I was not interested in the car due to the loan being offered at a high interest rate, and I would come by to pick my money $100. She answered that I will get a check in the mail because they dont keep money in the dealership. On 12/**/15 I tried calling her because I had not gotten a check yet she didnt answer her phone. I sent her a text message right after call and inquired about my return she text me back that she would look into it and get back to me. she didnt get back to me on 12/**/15 I called again and no answer to I text message her and no response. On 12/**/15 I called again no answer I text message her no answer. I call the office number they said she was busy with client to leave my name and number. I asked for the manager whose name is Rob A[redacted] I was told he was not there and no manager at the location. the person I spoke to on 12/**15 at 245pm name was Joseph N[redacted] Both Molly D[redacted] and Rob A[redacted] are liers and are taking advantage of a midddle aged working woman shame on you both shame one Easthill Chevy. They are stealing my hard earned moneyDesired Settlement: I want them to refund my $100 dollars.

Response:
To Whom It May Concern, I understand and completely understand this concern. The customer states that we put her credit through our bureaus; with her consent and a signed credit application, we were under the impression that we're able to try our best to get her the best possible rate on a automotive loan. The turn around time for every refund is approximately 2 weeks time and to assure that we fully address this issue we've processed her refund and will overnight fed-ex her request on 12/**/15.
