I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this response/resolution is satisfactory to me. It does not solve the entire issue, such as advertising from flyer price that does not make mention of a landline and the bait-and-switch installation increased pricing. I have better things to do than to continue to fight for fairness against an unethical company, such as Defenders, Protect Your Home. I will, however, continue to spread the word to warn others about this problem, just as I have seen through numerous, unresolved complaints online

After speaking to our representative, he wasable to customize his package they offered him regular sensors, a second motiondetector and an additional keypad for his backdoorHe was also offered anadditional $equipment credit to cover the other windows he has at thisresidence and a $VISA. Our salesagent did initially discussed the landline service for $ 36.99, but afterfurther discussion the cellular uplink was offered. The fee to install the cellular uplink waswaived which typically would be $99.00. The standard monitoring fee for this upgradedservice is $ Our installation security advisor arrived following day,on April 7th, 2015. Thecustomer did not continue with the installation because he did not recall thatthe pulse service was offered at monitoring rate at $44.99. The following day account holder had spokento our scheduling team in regards and confirmed the cancellation request We have requested the refund for $toback to his credit card and he should receive the refund within ten businessdays. Defenders had attempted to charge the credit card for the months of May, June and July 2017, but the expiration date had expired I was told that Defenders had only attempted to call me One time each month, but I had never received a call from them and wasn't aware of the expired card date I never received any further notice from Defenders by postal mail or emails from them and feel that they should have attempted to make more calls to me I would have gladly given them the updated expiration date, but they chose to send my account to the collection agency My payment to the collection agency was made for the remaining two years of the original contract, and I was told that my service would be reinstated by Defenders once the payment was made

During the initial sales callit was disclosed that we do have month agreement and it was included duringthe recorded terms and conditions towards the end of the phone call.Additionally, the flyers she has received does disclose there is a monthagreement in the fine print as wellI also show the account was cancelled due to non-payment onMarch 4, The last payment ADT received from the account holder was onSeptember 2, Ms*** was sent a letter on the December 2, 2014advising is account was days delinquent and she would need to submit forpayment. We show there was anotherletter send to the customer after days past due on the January 2, Ms.*** was also sent letter notifying her account was in jeopardy ofcancellation due to non-payment on the February 2, Ms*** did contact ADT account services on April 4,2014 to find out her past due balance onthe account and was advised her past due balance was $274.57. She did request to pay her balance at thetime however the agent advised the account was cancelled due to non-payment andshe would need to speak to our internal collections department. Ms*** was advised the termination costof the contract or she could reinstate her accountHowever, she was notwilling pay the fees to reinstate her accountWe do charge a reinstatement feeof $+ months ($149.97) in advance as well as the past due balance of $324.56. One of our escalation specialist also attempted to contactthe account holder on several occasions to address her complaint but wereunsuccessful in speaking to herOur representative was finally able to speakto Mr*** on May 4, he was willing to pay his termination costWedid offer to lower the termination cost to $1,provided him the collectioncompany contact phone directly.We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration that thecustomer may have experienced and we appreciate the opportunity to address hisconcerns. The customer was promised that his monthly rate would be $for a “wireless” system. The customer understood this to mean that the communication between ADT and alarm system would be over cell towers. The cell uplink was installed which is an $per month difference, I have agreed to refund the customer the $that is the $per month over the life of the contract. I have also agreed to add additional window sensors and an emergency medical pendant to assist the customer with feeling safe in her home.
