Paid in advance for lawn rejuvenation, employee arrived late in season only did part of the contract never to return to finish it.
Paid for lawn to be done and only part of it was completed.
Company sent email saying it would be coming April 30 2019 to complete job but never appeared.
Numerous attempts to contact company has failed to get job completed as they do not answer phone and keep asking for us to leave a message. We have emailed them with no response either. Contract cost $280. Would like our money back as it is to late in the season to do the job now.

Canadian Property Stars would like Mr. for reaching out to us. The General Manager of our Surrey location will be in touch with today with a resolution to this situation.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
They contacted me and only wanted to give a partial refund for the job or they said they would like to come back to do the job in the fall which is unacceptable as we hired them to do spring lawn care and we don't trust them to come back.. person who contacted me said he was an employee who does the work not someone who can make the decision to refund me. Am now waiting for a response from a lady named *** who can deal with this hopefully. Contact with this company has been difficult as they never answer calls and only accept messages left . We just want this over and be refunded so next spring we can find a company more reliable.

Mr. spoke directly with the General Manager for our Surrey location and the information I received was that a partial refund was agreed upon. The refund was sent to Mr. on June 15th with the understanding that this matter was closed.

just received another refund from Property Stars it doesn't cover it all but we will accept it and let this be over. Thank you
Canadian Property Stars did Power raking in our lawn. The job was not complete. we emailed many times but nothing done so far.
The Power Raking was done in 30th of April 2019 and we paid $288.75.In that day they did 5 houses in our neighborhood ,Obviously not enough time to completely remove the Moss .One of neighbors asked them to come back and complete the job and they did it in the next day. I left their cheque to one of neighbors to pass it to them and I couldn't check their job in that day.
I called 2 times and left a message regarding our issue. No reply and returning call. I emailed them 2 times and they just reply for asking our address. I sent a letter through our lawyer to ask either come to complete the job or return our money.and still no respond yet.

The Canadian Property Stars company Emailed us in May28 and mentioned our property had been scheduled for redoing .Still after 2 weeks no more respond or showing.
we emailed them in May 31 to ask when our property has been scheduled but no respond back yet.
Since the seeding season is passed and we are having hot weather for seeding ,so it is too late to finish power raking.
Now we just want our money back .

Thanks for *** follow up about our complain. They came yesterday and finished the job and gave one bag of seed for compensation.
I didn't believe about *** ,but now I see it works and make more commitment for businesses and peace of mind for customers without going to legal process.
Best regards
The Property Stars representative did only a partial job, took my money and left. Now, they will not return my calls.
On April 26, 2019, mid afternoon, smooth-talker *** (***?) came to my door and pointed out how our lawn was in great need of being serviced. He said the lawn needed to be de-thatched, aerated, have some form of granular chemical applied and new grass seed spread.
We agreed on a price of $400 cash. Cash, as stipulated by ***. He did say he would accept a cheque but cash was greatly preferred. My thought was, he was just going to pocket the money; his employer would be none the wiser. Ahh, yes, and then there is ***. Anyway ... not my problem.
Then, during the next two hours of working, if we can call it that, *** left the property for about half the time and canvassed other people in order to get more business. While he was gone, he left his snail-paced helper to rake up thatch and put it in bags.
Then, *** came to the door to collect the $400. I paid him. He told me he had run out of receipts but he would take my email address and his company would send me a receipt on Monday. *** and helper left.
I then went out and did a tour of my lawn and saw that easily one quarter of it had had no equipment run over it.
I phoned the office of Property Stars twice and left my name and phone number. Zero response.
So, I thought I would take a rake and at least do the de-thatching. Unfortunately, at the age of 81, my raking didn't last too long. Mind you, I did a patch of maybe 200 square feet and I would love to send someone the photo I took of the large pile of thatch. It is about four feet long, by two feet high.
The aeration had done to the same standard. Or lack thereof.
I dislike confrontation but, I dislike being suckered even more. Having paid $400 for less that an hour and a half of work for two people, and now, having to go through this hassle.
Plus the fact that I am left with a partially done lawn.
I have been told to tell others by way of ***, ***, ***, ***, ***, ***, ***, ***. But, please, ***, just get me my money back and I will quietly bring in my little old Vietnamese, always-does-a-good-
job gardener to fix the mess.
Oh, and of course, as well as not having had my calls returned, no receipt has shown up in my inbox! What a surprise!

They say they have no record of my having made contact with them? Hmm, Tell them to try paying attention to the messages that are left on their answering machine for the number, *** . Also, note, they left a message on my answering machine at 11:53 am, May 10th. The message said they had sent me an email. I received no email. The message also said, I could phone them at ***. That is not a toll-free number. Why should I be spending my money when they have a toll-free number. Tell them to just pay attention to their phone messages! Now, if, as they say, I had never made contact with them, how did they have my phone number? As I said, I phoned them three times and each time, I left a message along with my phone number. Now, they want me to phone the non-paid-attention-to number again.??
In their practice of the scamming of 82 year old people, they raise the art of obfuscation to a new level.

Was contacted by phone in January requesting prepayment for lawn aeration. I declined. Come home the other day and my lawn had been aerated with an invoice in my mail box. Emailed customer service, was told by declining prepayment I had preauthorized payment at the door. I asked for a signed agreement/contract or any other proof I had preauthorized this work, at this point customer service stopped replying to my emails. I have sent 3 follow up emails with no reply. Called customer service multiple times and left messages, calls aren't returned till a day later. This issue is still unresolved. Very infuriating that by answering a sales solicitation call I had not asked to receive that I am now on the hook for $70 worth of lawn aeration I in no way authorized. I had just laid fresh soil and seed in my back yard, this was all torn up in the process.
A rip off. Planted weed seed instead of lawn seed. Also don't answer phone calls or return phone calls.
I signed a contract with these guys April 8th, they took payment on the 13th and I still haven't heard from them. I have left messages and emails and still no one has gotten back to me.
I'm very disappointed to say the least.
I would like to give ZERO stars actually!
I opened my garage door today to find a Property Stars COMMISSIONED employee barging up my driveway saying she "has been looking for me!" She started with the scripted sales spiel to which I replied, " no thank you". She wasn't having any of that! I had to repeat myself several times and after her berating sales pitch about my lawn and her implication that if I don't hire them I would be unintelligent. I am well aware that my lawn needs attention and when I want to put my limited resources onto that project rather than the 100 other things I have to do as a home owner I would research my options, get several quotes and make an educated decision. I will not be pressured into doing something, ANYTHING, by a high pressure commissioned sales person that reeks of "used car sales" pitch mentality. This person obviously doesn't own her own home, if she did she would realize that when asked to leave the property (because it actually got that far!) she should obey instead of continuing to argue her point.
After that experience I was rather angry so I called the local Canadian Property Stars office in order to complain about the employees behavior, I demanded they take down my address as a "No Solicitation" address, oddly they need to have my information on account to do so. Not happening! Rather than an apology for the employees poor behavior she just hung up on me. Way to go Canadian Property Stars, I'm sure you think this is the way to conduct good business but in fact it is unrefined, sloppy and outdated. People don't want to be strong armed into buying services, yes it may work for you financially now but eventually this strategy will burn you as the complaints increase and people get wise to your tactics. Shame on you for your lack of business ethics and decency!
Business provided lawn care services at our home address with very sub standard results - poor de-thatching and over-seeding.
Our property was serviced by Canadian Property Stars (CPS) on April 10th of this year. This service included core aeration, lawn de-thatching, fertilization, over seeding and lime treatment. The crew from CPS started the treatment late in the day and finished when it was dark. We left early the next morning for the weekend and returned Sunday. Upon inspection of the lawn in the daylight, I found moss in most areas of the lawn and very little seed. I contacted CPS on Monday and was told that a company representative would get in touch with me shortly. 11 days have now passed with no contact.

And we have paid the Sales Rep *** in the full payment of $217.00 to complete the Lawn Rejuvenation, which includes dethatching, fertilization, over-seeding, lime treatment and core aeration). *** has only completed dethatching on Feb 9th, 2019, and scheduled to come back in March to complete fertilization. However, No one has showed up since. In the past three months, we have called and emails that is provided on the agreement but received no responses. *** from Canadian Property Star (Contact number: ***) has confirmed and agreed to refund $280 by the end of this week on June 21st, 2019. The issue won't be resolved until we receive the refund.
A crew from this company knocked on our door for aeration service on March 14, 2019. We paid for the service. And when they complete aeration, they demanded cash payment for the service and asked us for $200 CAD upon booking for power rake. They said no contract was needed for a one-time service and simply took our name on their list. They did not give us any paper records. We relied on the reputation of the company name and trusted to pay for booking. The job was supposed to be done by the first week of April, but they failed to do so. When we called the 1-800 number they provided, they said the service was delayed because of weather conditions. They assured us that the job would be done soon. They asked us to leave a number and promised to contact us back for scheduling. We have yet to receive a call. When we called them back they asked me if we had a contract and refused service.
Should be finish remaining job nice and neat under our satisfaction.

Promised lawn care service by door-to-door salesman poorly done,no response after repeated calls to local manager & head office
A man self-claimed to be "***", and Canadian Property Star's "best lawn care specialist" came to my door on September 29 2018 and sold me a lawn rejuvenation package for $525. The work finished past 6 PM that day, by which time it was so rainy and dark that we could not see the results. After 6 weeks we noticed grass had grown back along with large patches of weeds, especially along the edges in the back yard. I therefore called the company office in Surrey and ***'s manager to report the situation and request a service visit to assess/redo the lawn.
It is November 16 2018 today, and I have not received any response or action from this company. This "manager" ***, supposedly based in Surrey at first made false promise to come but never did, then progressed to plainly ignore my calls and messages. We called the office and head office in Ottawa, where no real person ever answers.
Based on the above, I highly suspect now if this business is real, or if the persons we dealt with, *** and ***, are licensed professionals at all. Below are some details of their behaviors that we think are unprofessional at best and borderline fraudulent.
1) On Sept 29, *** came to my door at 2 PM but didn't start the work on the front lawn until 2:40PM, seemingly awaiting equipment to arrive. Between then and 6PM there were a number of work interruptions and procrastinations, which now we realize were deliberate.
2) During this time he asked four to five times to use my phone to call his manager ***. I found it odd a working person did not carry a phone.
3) When the day got dark, he insisted to work on the back lawn, although I expressed my concern of the rain and darkness and suggest that he resume next morning. The actual results proved my suspicion that he cannot see in the dark well enough to do his job no matter what huge promises he makes.
4) *** handed me a one-page contract to fill out payment information BEFORE he filled out the payment amount.
5) He signed the contract with the first name only. Is it even legal? Or is *** his real name to begin with?
6) Before he departed, I asked for his phone number in case of technical inquiries. He dodged and told me to call this ***, who I had no idea would just ignore customer calls.
In conclusion, I hereby raise the complaint against Canadian Property Stars on the grounds that one, questionable sales practices that may involve unlicensed, illegal staff interfacing with customers/signing service contracts under fraudulent names;
And (if indeed those two people are legitimate), two, poor service quality and non-existent after-sale customer care. I suspect no real people work in either their local or head offices, where they channel all customer inquiries and complaints to voice message machines, filter and ignore everything except request for quote.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Canadian Property Star did not respond to my last request for a partial refund within the*** designated time frame. My proposed solution would be using the refund to hire other professionals to fix the problem but obviously CPS would not address this option. On May 3rd two people came and one of them worked on the front and back for no more than 15 minutes before taking off without notice. So I consider this "redo" more of a gesture than real rectification. It was mentioned by the manager they will perform a follow-up treatment sometime this year. Respectfully, I intend to wait until that actually happens to close the case.
Poor quality of driveway sealing! Contacted customer support in Ottawa and *** on several occasions left my contact detail but no response.
The driveway was sealed on September 24th, 2018, invoice number 5003 for $113. On October 15th, 2018 the seal on my driveway has started to peel off, they are patches of it missing after one heavy rain. On this date I phoned the HQ in Ottawa and *** on several occasions to report the issue. My contact detail was left but to this date no one called back.
On October 18, 2018 I wrote an email to the two owners of the company and administrative person, filing the complaint about the poor quality of the sealant. My claim was supported with the pictures. Also on the *** website the company clearly states their warranty Sealing (same Summer) + workmanship Guarantee. The sealing on my driveway lasted 2 weeks. Therefore I would like my money back.
Initial Business Response /(1000, 5, 2018/11/14) */
Dear Mr.,
Please accept my sincere apologies, on behalf of Canadian Property Stars regarding this issue.
You are correct in that Canadian Property Stars offers a 100% seasonal workmanship guarantee. If there is an issue with the work completed, or it is not completed correctly, we will have a manager come back out and redo the service.
I apologize on behalf of Canadian Property Stars that you were not answered in your attempts to contact us with these issues. Our *** location, that services the *** area, has closed down for the season; this is why they were unable to come back out to complete the free redo of the driveway.
Typically, if there are situations, such as this one, where we are unable to complete the redo in the same season, we will extend the guarantee to the following year and complete the re-seal of the driveway the next summer.
However, to resolve the situation and adhere to Mr. desired resolution, I will be issuing a cheque in the amount of $113.00 to him this week.
Again, we apologize about the experience that you have had this season and hope to resolve this for you shortly.
Kind regards,
***

Contracted and paid for Lawn Rejuvenation in the Fall. Repeated phone calls with name and number supplied have elicited no response.
I was solicited on my property May 2, 2018 for lawn services and I signed an agreement for a lawn rejuvenation and gave credit card information. My account was charged for the service but the only action taken was a partial aeration done that day. Iwas to call in the Fall for the rest of the service but to date - almost three weeks after my first of at least five calls - I have heard nothing from the company. I threatened in my latest phone message today to contact the Revdex.com and my credit card company but still heard nothing. As it is now quite late in the season I would like a refund.
Initial Business Response /(1000, 6, 2018/10/31) */
Dear ***,
Please accept my sincere apologies, on behalf of Canadian Property Stars regarding this issue.
I apologize for the minimal contact that you have received this fall. As a seasonal landscaping company our locations begin their annual shut down just after Labour Day weekend. I apologize that to date, the phone messages were not followed up with. Now that I have received this update on the situation I have been able to look into the file to determine the status of the services on his file.
According to the records from our Hamilton location (they service the Burlington area), the Lawn Rejuvenation package was booked and paid for on May 2nd, 2018, which is also when the core aeration service was completed. There is a note on file indicating that the remaining rejuvenation services were to be completed in the fall, however no additional information or details were added.
I sincerely apologize that this was not followed through with. I understand, and agree, that it is too late in the season for these services to be completed or benefit your property.
Typically I would offer to push the full Lawn Rejuvenation package, to the spring of 2019. This would allow for you to be booked in prior to the start of the season and of course include another core aeration.
With that being said, I do understand the frustration this has caused for you in trying to contact us to determine the status of these services. On behalf of Canadian Property Stars I can offer a full refund of all services not rendered on the property. I will also only charge $50.00 for the core aeration service, which is the company minimum. I will be able to issue a refund in the amount of $316.00 back on the *** of ***.
Again, we apologize about the experience that you have had this season and hope to resolve this for you shortly.
Kind regards,

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /(2000, 8, 2018/11/02) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I am very disappointed in the service from head office.
My parents, ***, had someone knock on their door late in August and was soliciting driveway resealing.
My mother paid cash and on the surface was satisfied with the "new, clean" look of the driveway. They were told not to go on it for 24 hrs which they didn't. The driveway was shinny and clean looking.
Two weeks later it rained and up walking onto the drive way to the car, I slipped and fell hard onto my side and hitting my elbow and head. The driveway was like black ice and extremely slippery. To this day my elbow is not healed.
Immediately I called the head office in Ottawa and explained the situation, leaving a voice mail. Within 2 days, someone contacted me. The issue I am now having is that it has been 1 MONTH since the first phone call when I was told that someone would be coming to assess and fix the issue. I was told that the drive way didn't dry properly and SHOULD NOT be shinny. The local manager from the *** has yet to meet at the home, although I was told on Sept 27 that he was to meet me on September 28. He never showed or gave me a call to cancel.
It is now October 15 and I am hoping that my *** don't fall or any one else who visits the home and has to use the driveway.
I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS COMPANY regardless of other reviews. I'm not sure at what point I will have to go to get some alternative solutions. Hopefully we can get it resolved soon.
Signed for Driveway sealing in May 14 2018, Credit card billed June 8, 2018. Work has not been done.
May 14, 2018 purchased driveway sealing from door to door saleswoman representing Canadian Property Stars. We signed contract and prepaid $250.00 with the understanding it would be done around the end of June, 2018.
My credit card was charged June 8, 2018.
Contacted them via email July 4, 2018, received response stating that they saw we were prepaid and expected to complete work by the beginning of August.
Contacted them again via email August 7, 2018. Received response stating that they had issues because of the weather and the work should be completed by the end of August.
Contacted them via email August 31, 2018 requesting a refund and received no response at all.
Called them September 11, 2018 and left a message . They called back and lady said she could not find my contract and would search for it and call back later in the day. She did not.
I called against a few hours later and was told she was still searching and could she call me back the following afternoon - September 12, 2018. She did not.
I contacted them via email on September 13, 2018 and included a scan of the contract. I also once again requested a refund.
I got no response.
I contacted them September 15, 2018 and left a message telling them I had sent email with scan of contract and again requested a refund.
I did not receive a call back and have heard nothing more from them.

I am very happy with the work that Property Stars did on my driveway today.
Earlier this summer I agreed to a doorstep pitch to have my driveway sealed. The *** employee not only did a haphazard job but got sealer on my interlock, plants, and house. Property Stars sent a seasoned manager to repair the damage the next week. And today *** and *** returned to re-seal the driveway properly. Thank you for caring to invest the time to do a good job.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are sorry to hear that the job was not done well originally but, appreciate your patience as we have worked to rectify the situation. We are very glad to hear that you are now happy with the driveway and the work completed by our management team!

Hello ***, thank you for the kind words. We are glad to hear that your experience with ***, and Canadian Property Stars, was a positive one.
Dear Sir/Madame,
The reason for this email is to request a refund for the service that was provided by Canadian Property Stars.
Please find attached photos taken today of my property. As you can see the lawn hasn't improved since your representatives *** and *** began servicing my lawn since May 29, 2018.
This was a door to door sales offer where your representatives went door to door in my neighborhood offering Canadian Property Stars lawn care service. *** and *** approached our property insisting they were able to improve our lawn. We were told that if the lawn does not improve from the service provided by Canadian Property Stars, we would receive our money back. As you can see from the pictures taken today, the lawn has not improved.

Kindly respond back at your earliest opportunity to settle this matter and arrange for my refund.

Please accept my sincere apologies, on behalf of Canadian Property Stars regarding this issue.
After you were speaking a representative from the head office last week the notes from your conversation were updated on your file. Canadian Property Stars offers a 100% workmanship guarantee. Meaning if the services were not done correctly we will send a manager back to the property to redo the services.
In your situation what we would typically offer is to come back out have provide a full fertilization and double over-seeding on the property. This in conjunction with regular lawn cutting, watering and weed maintenance, as our contract indicates, will help improve the state of the lawn.
With the temperatures that we have been experiencing this summer, and up until this week, the lack of rain, we have refrained from any additional over-seeding services. Doing so now would not be beneficial for seed germination.
What we are able to offer to uphold our 100% workmanship guarantee is to provide both of these services in the fall, when we complete the fall services for clientele who have full season packages. Alternatively, we can push the applications to the spring of 2019 so that they are redone at the start of next season.
With that being said if you did not want to move forward with Canadian Property Stars offer to provide a redo of these services I would be able to issue a full refund for all services completed on May 29th. This would only be less the core aeration service that was completed by a different representative at an earlier date (May 12th, 2018).
Again, we apologize about the experience that you had this season and hope to resolve this for you shortly. If you could please confirm how you would like to move forward I would be more than happy to work towards resolving this matter for you as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
***

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /(3000, 9, 2018/07/30) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Good morning ***,
Thank you for your response.
From what you wrote in your email, Canadian Property Stars will refund me for the cost of the fertilization, over seeding and de-thatching done on May 29th less the initial core aeration done previously.
Does this mean that the cost of these 4 services (core aeration, fertilization, over seeding and de-thatching) total $311.l2?
If that is the case, that the contract included core aeration done on May 12, and the de-thatching, fertilization and over seeding done on May 29, why was I not informed that the Canadian Property Stars contract was completed?
Based on the pictures I provided it would be obvious to a professional that the lawn has not improved at all since these 4 services were performed. The excuse for the lack of rainfall does not hold up since we have watered our lawn as instructed by your representative.
I have never received any follow up from a Canadian Property Stars representative to see if I was satisfied with the service and condition of my lawn after the service was done on May 29th, two months ago.
Your representative initially said (prior to us agreeing to the contract) that if we were not happy with your service and the condition of our lawn after your service we would receive our money back. There was never any mention at all that they would come back to re do the service. ***
I am not happy with the service and I do not accept your offer of a refund for the services done on May 29th less the service done on May 12.
I will only be satisfied with a full refund of $311.12.
Kindly govern yourself accordingly. ***.
Regards,

Final Business Response /(4000, 11, 2018/08/01) */
Dear ***
Please accept my sincere apologies, on behalf of Canadian Property Stars regarding this issue.
You are correct, the reason that I was offering a refund on the services completed on May 29th (de-thatching, fertilization and over-seeding) was that these were the services that the complaints were centered around. The core aeration was completed two and a half weeks prior, while present for the service, and there were no complaints about the aeration at the time, nor were there any follow ups with head office.
We understand that we would provide a refund if the customer was not happy with the services, however there was no complaint about that service; this is why the partial refund was suggested.
With that being said, to resolve this matter, I will issue a refund cheque for the full amount of $311.10. Since the initial booking and contract are under ***, I will issue a reimbursement cheque this week in his name.
Again, we apologize about the experience that you had this season and hope this resolves the situation, since we were unable to complete a redo of the property.
Kind regards,
***
