On august 28th I called atlas butler to come look at air conditioner unit. I was told they would charge a diagnostic fee of 89.95 which I was ok with paying. The tech said the capicator was bad and he probably had one on truck. He did and he then put it on. When he was done I asked what I owed and he said 517.00. I told him I cant afford that and he should have told me before he did repairs what the charge would be he then said they had a program for preferred customers and I could get on that plan and it would only be 300.00 and so I said yes to that and paid him 200.00 cash put 100.00 on credit card and then gave check for 32.00 for plan. They next day after talking to my children I called to cancel plan and was told I owed the whole 517.00 if I canceled. I asked for a detailed invoice of the charges since my son said the parts only about 20.00 and they said its not their policy to give invoices. I spoke with the service manager and the customer service manager. I feel this company is just a rip off and felt they should have told the charge before any work was performed. Most companys will give you a written quote and have you sign before performing any work. I would like this resolved byn the owner of the company

On 8/21/17 *** contacted Atlas Butler regarding her 22 year old air conditioner was not working. She was offered the Elite Comfort club maintenance contract that offers great benefits she signed up via phone for $32.95 per month . She was advised the $89 diagnostic fee is waved for members and 30% discount on repairs Atlas Butler's certified technician Chris G arrived at Ms. residence on 8/21/17 at 7:30pm. Upon arrival he diagnosed a bad capacitor Atlas Butler's certified technician Chris G made repairs as a test while client was on the phone and worked out pricing once they figured out everything else is working. Ms. paid $200 in cash and $99 on a Visa credit card. She called Atlas Butler on 8/22/17 request to speak with a manager, Atlas Butler's Residential Field Manager Lee M advised Ms. Atlas Butler will not complete any repairs without the customers authorization. Ms. claims her son found the capacitor online for $20 Lee M explained there is a 1 year warranty on the capacitor, labor, part and installation of the capacitor by Nate certified techniciann are at this is included in the price. Ms. requested to canceled the Elite maintenance agreement Mr. M advised her of the discounts she received with the maintenance contract. Mr. M advised her retail for the capacitor eplacement $428 and Diagnostic is $89 for a total of $517 after deducting the $299 paid and $32.95 payment for the Elite Comfort Club she woud owe $185.05. Ms. requested we cancel plan and bill her the difference. Atlas Butler canceled the Elite Comfort Club and mailed an invoice for $185.05. Atlas Butler will stand firm on the balance owed by Ms. of $185.05 for services rendered.

I did not sign up by phone before tech came to house. It was only after he did repairs and told me the price that they sold me the elite deal to lower price since I could not afford the amount they charged. I was not told of price before he did the repairs or I would have said to not complete repairs. They refuse to give me a detailed invoice of what all is involved in that charge.I feel this is scamming and willing to take this as far as I need to since after 3 days the unit is no longer working. And I will have to call another company out to fix unit.

I would like to correct my last response Ms. signed up for the Elite Comfort Club membership with Atlas Butler's certified technician Chris G to receive discounts on her repairs. She called in the day after her repairs were completed to cancel her membership which gave a 30% discount off her repairs and waved the $89 cost for the diagnostic. The invoices we provide do not give a breakdown labor, parts and warranty all included in the price. Atlas Butler's Residential Field Manager Lee M would have been more than happy to come back out double checked the work preformed. MS. still has a 1 year warranty on the capacitor.

Today, my Atlas Butler (AB) heat-pump powered HVAC system was checked and clean by AB tech., Veron B. Veron arrived on time. He first asked if there were any issues with the system. The system is several years old and works well. As expected, Veron did not find any problems. Great equipment, great service!

My experience with Atlas Butler have been great. Kyle F found to reason the air conditioner compressor in my new home would not work and fixed it. He also found that there is a slow leak in the coolant line and gave me options as to what I might consider doing. Decisions will be made this fall after the furnace can be inspected when it is operating.
Paul S found a leak in the guest room shower drain that I probably would never have found. He got the correct part/parts and made the necessary repairs.

Their rep was on time, courteous, and performed a thorough review of our AC system.

On July 4, 2017, Atlas Butler Heating made some repairs on my hot water heater that did not resolve the issue and charged me $194.00. A second technician was sent on July 6th and he identified a different problem but did not recommend making that repair due to the age of the hot water heater. Instead, he recommended that I purchase from them and have them install a new hot water heater. Due to the exorbitant price, I declined and asked that the $194.00 be refunded since the initial repairs made were not the problem. He stated that he would have a supervisor call me; after waiting for several days without hearing from anyone, I called and spoke to whomever answers the phone and again requested a refund. She stated that she would have someone call me. As of this date, 8/10/17, no one has called me. In the meantime, I disputed the charge with my credit card bank.

Tell us why here... *** contacted Atlas Butler on 7/05/17 at 9:44am regarding a Hot Water Tank not working at her rental property *ocated ***. She was advised there was an $89 diagnostic fee she agreed and a visit was scheduled for 7/5/2017 between 2:00-4:00. Atlas Butler’s certified plumber Mark W arrived at 2:05 PM diagnosed the thermal couple was bad *** authorized the replacement charge of $194 via phone for him to replace he completed at 3:13 PM. *** called Atlas Butler on 7/6/17 was having additional issues with the Hot Water tank. Atlas Butler’s certified plumber Mark W recommended replacing the control valve due to the age of the Hot Water Tank also recommended and quoted price to replace *** declined. Atlas Butler’s plumbing manager Brian P contacted *** offered to reduce the charges to $89 and refund $105 which she would only pay for the diagnostic fee she stated she is disputing the whole amount of $194.00 with her credit card company. I have attached the invoices Atlas Butler will not complete any repairs without pre-authorization.

Excellent service, very professional. Checked everything out in the system to find out what the problem was (Why my A/C kept cutting off) . After talking with him, I told him I was I interested in the Nest thermostat to go with my Google home. He told me they installed them and had them I stock. Went to get one exactly the color I wanted to match my decor and installed it, and showed us how it works . He was Awesome!

I purchased a high efficiency AC unit and furnace from Atlas Butler in the summer of 2015 for approximately 9500.00. This past June of 2017the condenser coil needed replaced because it was leaking refrigerant.. Atlas Butler charged me1,500.00 to replace it.
There is a class action lawsuit against the coil manufacturer that started back around 1008 or 2009. I bought the new AC unit and furnace in 2015. Was Atlas Butler aware that they were selling faulty equipment?
Since then I have asked them several times to give me the warranty information on the new coil I had to buy. I have also asked repeatedly for a breakdown of the 1500.00 bill I received. I would also like a written explanation of why the equipment manufacturers 5 year warranty did not cover the coil cost.

purchased a furnace and air conditioner from Atlas Butler that was installed on 6/20/14 at ***. On 6/19/17 Mr. contacted Atlas Butler regarding his air conditioner was not working properly . Upon arrival Atlas Butler's certified technician Matt A found the Air Conditioner low on charge, noticed oil on bottom of condenser. He completed complimentary leak search found no leaks inside, found leaking in condenser coil. He recommend replacing condenser coil which has a five year parts warranty on the coil. Mr. agreed to the $1496 and paid for the diagnostic charge plus 20% deposit with a Visa credit card in the amount if $358.00 for labor cost the retail price of the condenser coil is $3280 this was covered by a manufactures part warranty not labor. Mr. agreed to pay balance $1138 when repair is completed. Matt A returned on 6/19/20017 installed a new condenser coil Mr. was not there his mother was there gave Matt a check #1167 for the remainder of the balance $1138.00. I have attached the invoices for the repairs completed.

I am not disputing the bill , I simply would like some consumer information on the new coil I purchased. 1 I need some info, make , model number, warranty information, in writing please. 2. Did Atlas Butler sell me the same exact coil that failed after only 3 years in service? 3 it has become known to me that many people have had problems with the *** condenser coils dating back to 2008. There is now a class action lawsuit against them. Was Atlas Butler aware of the potential problems with those coils? When did they become aware of the class action lawsuit?

The problems started around 2008, I bought my new equipment from them in 20014. 6 years after the problems started.

Please see answers to ***'s questions and concerns. Atlas Butler's Residential Filed Manager Lee M has tried to reach Mr. via phone to address his concerns.

1) In the back of the manual you received with your new equipment it states a 10 year parts warranty and a 1 year replacement warranty. The manufacturer is *** part #***.

2) Yes, the same part was installed. The manufacturer's warranty paid for the part and Mr. was charged for labor and supplies.

3) The Class Action Lawsuit is for copper Evaporator Coil and copper Condenser Coil(indoor coil) Mr. had a microchannel coil. I have attached the paperwork on the Class Action Lawsuit.

I called Atlas Butler to check a possible problem with a toilet. They came within an hour, checked it out and said that there was no indication of a problem. While checking the pipes in the basement they discovered a slow leak. They replaced the leaking pipe and cleaned up after they finished the job. They were very efficient, professional, and courteous. I highly recommend them.

This is a complaint I sent. No response from Atlas and they continue to charge my credit card....

Thank you for your e-mail response regarding my request to cancel the Club Membership.

In the interest of full disclosure I would like to add some background that supports my decision.

My house has three furnace/ac units some or all were originally installed by Atlas Butler by the previous home owner.

My first contact with your company was a service call for one of the three units not operating in heat mode.
Your tech visited and advised me that I needed a $400.00 part replaced. I realized I had an *** policy so I declined the repair and figured for that expense I would use the policy. I paid the Atlas Butler service call charge.

The company sent by *** inspected the unit and found a loose wire. Unit was fixed in about 5 minutes and has worked perfectly since.
I didn't think much about it, mistakes happen, and I signed up for the Club Membership anyway.

Fast forward to last week when my Spring inspection happened.

Your tech approached me with a part removed from one of the three units and advised me that it should be replaced. A dual capacitor. $395.00 plus a free hard start kit. He suggested the same for a second unit.

I asked if the part was bad and he said "No, but it could break at any time" I indicated that this unit is rarely used and I will wait for it to break. He re-installed the part. In the meantime I checked to see that a dual capacitor for this unit is available for sale at under $40.

So, had I taken his advice in addition to the $600 a year for club membership I would have replaced a $400 part that only had a loose wire and two dual capacitors for another $800. (That only cost $80 combined)

I am glad you are not servicing my parents' house....they would have easily been taken in by this type of despicable marketing and sales protocol.

Be assured, I will not be paying the additional $300 for the contract. If you find this unacceptable I will be glad to share my concern with the ethical practices of Atlas Butler with as many people as possible.

Atlas Butler didn't respond and they continue to charge my credit card.

Atlas Butler has agreed to cancel the 3 maintenance contracts with no further charges effective 8/8/17. I have called *** and left a detailed voice mail advising this 3 maintenances contracts were canceled effective today with no further charges. I also provided my contact information in the event he had any questions or concerns.

He has been to our home twice and each time is very professional, at the same time he makes you feel like he is doing for you what he would do for his own family.
