No permit
Terrible, experience. Didn't get a permit and now I am being chased after by Cook County. Marc says he has it and will give to me on Monday but I don't believe him. He was sending me pictures of the wood panels but didn't. He put up the wrong color shingles told me it was my fault for not checking, promised me a receipt never got it. He ghosted me as soon as I complained about the color. My fear now is that it won't pass inspection.

Side note, Marc did get a permit but ten days after the fact. Hopefully the inspector will ok the work.

I am no liar I also have no will to force myself to read his whole rant We will refund the money when we can We would have to be crazy not to try to do it as soon as possible Some people just don't care and never will

***Due to a death in the family and an unforeseen leave of absence because of this by one of the owners Williams Roofing was shut down during the period of this complaintIf it is still unresolved we would be more than happy to come resolve this for you, as we are back up and running at 100%We apologize for your inconvenience

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does satisfy my issues concerning payment of the work done by my contractor I would like to address the problem of communication, however I was dealing with Bill Bureau after sending pictures to customer service I was not under the impression at that point they were "listening" I inquired several times after sending the pictures on to Bill if they had been received I got no answer I certainly did not rush anything and no one ever told me that there would be someone sent to look at my concerns I have sent the bill from my contractor on to Williams Roofing via certified mail Hopefully, this issue will be resolved - if not, you'll be hearing from me again Regards, [redacted] ***

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted] I would like the warranty to be honored and I will call the number you have provided to try to facilitate thatThe owner, however, already has all the information he needs and if he was willing to do the work, can move forward on his ownHe simply chooses not toIt should not require any further action on my part, as phone calls and over a year has passed and the roof still leaksI also take issue with your response in the following waysFirst, we called the number you provided repeatedly last year and it was eventually confessed that it was just an answering service, not an officeWe were told they just forward the messages to the owner’s cell phoneI was told directly by the owner the best way to contact him was through his cell phoneIf there is now an actual office, please provide the address and update that on the Revdex.com website which only has a PO boxSecond, the comments about “an exceptionally rainy spring” and “unable to pick up on calls” were made in ignorance or dishonestyYou have not identified yourself or your position with the company, so it is difficult to know whichI have twice spoken to the owner directly and twice he has told me he would be out to fix the roof and twice he has simply not shown up and not calledOne time being in early November of last year, so the spring had nothing to do with thatThe fact that I have left voice mails on the owner’s cell phone, NONE of which he has ever called me back on, makes it quite clear it has nothing to do with calling him when he is speaking with another customerHe simply has no interest in honoring the warranty.“I called the number provided, and the person confirmed that there was no office and they were only an answering serviceThey could not put in a work order in any way, and could only forward the message to the ownerThe person responding to the Revdex.com complaint for Williams’ Roofing provided information.” Regards, [redacted]

I would expect no contention of facts as the truth speaks for itself We reject what they believe is a reply, and will until our money is returned

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted] Please add your rejection comments below The short story is that communication has been poor to nonexistent, start dates, when given, were not honored, and as I've come to learn, Williams roofing has agreed to (and taken my deposit) do a job that they didn't have the expertise to actually do> Unfortunately the short story leaves a bunch of questions, so here is the painfully long one: a good start is addressing the inaccuracies of ***'s messageI started making calls in late September asking for a scheduled start date as they had originally told us they would start in early SeptemberAt this time, I was told that they were behind, but mine would be next in line (or something to that affect) and work would start "next week"The start day would come and go with no call or explanationThis continued into NovemberBy this time I wasn't getting responses at all, and I was beginning to worry they had closedThey route incoming calls through a answering service, and the only telephone number I had was going directly to a full mailboxAnyway, after multiple missed start dates, as well as unreturned voicemails and texts, I started leaving msgs saying I needed to determine if they were still in businessI then received a call from ***, who said the reason for the delay is that they did not have the expertise to complete my roof, and were waiting for a "merger" with another company who did, and it had been delayedI repeated that we had leaking, and asked if metal could at least be done in the two areas most affectedShe said she would check that day and get right back to meShe did notI called the following day to check on her response, she did not return my callI called the following Monday, as well as Tuesday, still no responseI called early Wednesday and left a vm that said that it appeared that there was no plan in place to install my roof, and while I'd much rather have a roof, if I didn't see progress on it by the end of the week I would stop the credit card payment and file a complaint with the Revdex.comLater that morning I was called by ***, who said a crew would be out the following morning to start on the roofHe recommended I tell them about problem areas, so I again stayed home from work, but they didn't arriveI texted [redacted] who said now it would be noonLate afternoon a guy (not a crew) showed up, complaining that he didn't have a ladder that was safe to get on the roof with, and eventually climbed up and took some measurementsHe also dropped off a small bundle in the driveway that looks like metal trimHe said the crew would arrive the following morning to start workThey did not, and my texts to [redacted] were not returnedI did as I said and filed a stop payment and complaint the following Friday afternoonIt would appear that my stop payment resulted in the company arriving unannounced on Tuesday, and nailing inexpensive underlayment on two small portions of my roofUnfortunately this is not helpful, in fact nailing through shingles with uncapped nails causes new leaks, and this stuff will blow off in the first good wind(I'd be happy to supply photos)> > While it was originally my hope to find some way to compel Williams roofing to just install the metal roofing as contracted, I now have reservations about both their level of service/communication as well as there ability to do a decent quality jobAt this point I recommend we simply part ways and they return my deposit Regards, [redacted]

We will not expect for you to be satisfied until you have received your deposit back The attempt at our first reply was simply to shed some light on the situation Your deposit will be refunded as soon as possible Thank you

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted] Please add your rejection comments below [If you are rejecting the business's response please enter your rejection comments here.]The information provided by the business is not accurateThey say that the materials THEY purchased for my roof were used to finish my roofThis is not correctThe materials THEY provided are still sitting on a pallet on the side of my drivewayThe materials that are on my roof are new materials purchased by the contractor who completed the roofThe only way I could have a warrantee, was to have the new contractor provide the materials and labor for the jobWhat would satisfy me at this point is for the business "Williams Roofing" to come and take the materials that were not used and return $of my deposit of $check nowritten on May 3rd, I believe this is more than fair considering the trouble they put us throughI should be asking for the entire $that I paid as a down payment for a job that wasn't even close to completedThey left my roof cap open and it rained torrentially and came inside the house so that I had to repaint my ceilingMy complaint could go on but I won't go furtherIf they give me back $and take the metal away, I will write a Revdex.com letter absolving them of all complaint and say that they completely satisfied my needs after doing me wrong Regards, [redacted] & [redacted]

We had been in contact with that customer, so we were unaware that he was looking for a refundWe have actually done some work that we had talked about with him to go out and do in the event that we could not get right to his job In order to get him by until we could get our whole crew there to do the whole roof.We thought that he understood that we were behind and that we were doing all we could to get there asap We actually do roofing all year around and there should not be any need to find another contractor.Thank you for making contact with us.***

We were able to get to the ***'s home and make the repairs on their home since this complaint I did not realize that this was still open with no response

We had a long-standing roof leak over our garage and had it "repaired" two or three times, but it always continued leaking When we finally found Williams Roofing they repaired it perfectly and we have had no more problems We have often recommended Williams to friends

*** First of all we would like to apologizeDue to a death in the family the owner had to unfortunately take a leave of absence, which lead to the business being shut down for a while. This complaint was never passed on to anyone, if this has not been taken care of we would
be glad to come take care of it free of charge as we are now running 100% again. Again we would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you

Hi ***,We would certainly still like to follow up with you and finalize the repairs to your home, we understand how frustrating it can be to have a leaky roof. This has been an exceptionally rainy spring and we have not had a lot of opportunity to safely get up
on roofs, setting us a considerable amount behind. Could we kindly ask that you call the office number at *** so that a work order can be applied? Occasionally *** is unable to pick up on calls sent to his cell phone number. He does not pick up on incoming calls while he is meeting with new customers so calling the other number would be a big help. Thank you for your continued patience

Hi ***,We had been coresponding with your daughter about your roof right up until about weeks ago when she said you were going to hire someone to do the work (we assume by the same contractor friend that felt the need to point out all the 'issues') When we were told this
we assumed it meant you did not need us to do the work. We were listening....not ignoring. We had already been down to your house to repair an area that you said had been leaking and to my knowledge that problem was taken care of. Your daughter then sent pictures of the roof with issues you folks had that I had to hand off to our second in charge to look at because to me they simply looked like pictures of a shingled roof. We then put you on our books to have a crew go to your home to attempt to take care of your concerns but unfortunately we were not quick enough for you. My husbands mother passed away last month after a battle with cancer that admittedly has caused us to be less efficient with our call backs but once again let me assure you it has NOTHING to do with your age or the fact that you are a woman! With that said....if your contractor buddy is nice enough to forward an invoice for the money disputed and a very detailed list of what he did for you which will hopefully co enside with the pictures that we still have that your daughter sent us then we will be happy to pay for any work that was NOT done correctly

I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # ***Please add your rejection comments I understand your situation with your former employees and lack of communication; however, you were given ample opportunities to communicate with me about the job and any complications and hardships you were experiencingYour company had days to complete the job after receiving my depositSince I never heard from you, and no phone calls of mine were ever returned, I had no choice but to go with another companyI also sent a letter via certified mail in regards to the job not being completedAccording to the judgment against you, I could have asked for a disclosure hearing since you did not attend the court proceedings, nor did you refund my deposit within the allotted daysI feel I have been more than fair and patient with your companyI hope this matter will be resolved quickly
