Hire Western Van Lines if you are looking for complete negligence and a void of customer service. It is now 4 weeks since they picked up our belongings (3 weeks since we said we?d be available), and they have yet to assign a driver to move anything. Expect them to hang up on you mid phone call and screen your calls to not answer thereafter. After my delivery would be late, they said I could pay $1,250 extra to have it worked on immediately (as a ?VIP? to fulfill their initial contract). When I asked this person?s supervisor about that VIP deal, they said he made it up or that I was imagining things. The line every customer service and dispatch representative offered initially was ?your belongings should be delivered within 5-15 business days? until it was 16 business days out, at which point they switched to ?the department of transportation authorized us to take up to 30 business days before it is declared late.? They continue to say that they have no obligation to ever assign a driver until they find someone else moving from my previous location to my new location. I?m a first responder in the COVID epidemic and this company?s incompetence to deliver my belongings is preventing me from providing care to my patients.
It is so sad I am writing a one star review. I chose this company for the 75 years experience and good reviews.
My items were picked up June 29th and I still have not received them. I called frequently since July 15th and have been told someone will call me back... no one EVER CALLED BACK. To make matters worse, when we asked why our items had not been on the road/delivered the only response we received was "We don't know ma'am. " ???? . Well into August we called again and again getting the same run around. At this point we were close to calling the police because as far as we knew - because no information was given to us - our stuff is lost or stolen. FINALLY TODAY, August 20th, I get a call saying my items will be delivered tomorrow and my balance is due. GREAT. But waiting 2 months and having to buy my husbands medical equipment/supplies because we couldn't carry it all on the plane - there needs to be an adjustment to my balance. After calling and having a rep tell me someone will call me... AGAIN.... I wait. Then I get a call from the rudest person I have ever had to speak to. Laura, the shipping manager. She not only speaks down to me, but interrupts me, and insults me. I could not believe my ears. Having a wealthy, long lasting company you work for and speaking to a dissatisfied consumer like that is COMPLETELY unacceptable. I don't let my nephew speak to me that way much less a Karen in charge. I am still attempting to get a hold of someone in a higher position. We will see how that goes but I am devastated at my experience with this company. Hire someone else and save your sanity! Go with a company who respects you if you request a solution to your complaint!
I have hired movers a handful of times and these guys are by far the worst. They will be professional in the initial phone call and lowball the other competitors on their estimate to get you to sign the contract. Then they will wring you for all you're worth. They are about as pro-consumer as the mafia. My sales rep, Josh L, promised a good deal, which it did sound like one. Then he calls the week of the move to try charging me more for stuff he didn't ask about in the first call. A week of? But I can't get refunded for my deposit that close to moving day, nor can hire another crew in that amount of time! Gotcha. I managed to argue enough to keep it low though. But, on moving day, the movers, hired contractors mind you, slapped me with a bunch of "you have too much stuff" fees. But I'm one person, how does someone with barely a full one-bedroom apartment's worth of furniture have too much stuff? Suddenly my $2500 estimate went to $4064. And that wasn't even the end of it. They were LATE on delivery about a week, and when the second pair of contractors showed up, they tried to charge $75 more for being on the second floor, something the company knew from the very beginning. THEN they told me the money order I had wasn't good because it wasn't a postal one. So I had to go cash my own money order which turned out to be $130 dollars so they could have cash. Of course, it was on a Sunday when the banks were closed. All things good ol' Josh L somehow forgot to tell me. So please, PLEASE read everything and read the reviews before hiring these guys. I was going to hire Bellhops because I had a good experience with them before, but L purposely lowballed their price knowing he was going to charge me an arm and a leg in the end. I had to dip into my savings and it will likely take through the new year to recover. If there is a 2020 embodiment of moving companies, it's these aes right here. Don't do it. You and your bank account will definitely regret it. The fact I'm going as far as to leave this review on the Revdex.com website should shocking.
Got a quote from Michael whom we were thinking of moving forward with until we choose another moving service to go with. When I later told Michael we are going with another company he called me a "dirtbag" and hung up the phone. Not polite at all and would certainly WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE.
After living in Las Vegas for 6 years, I received a new post over to Denver and it was a move I really embraced. The problem was that living in Las Vegas can result in buying some designer furniture with your hard earned cash. I didn't want to leave them behind. I hired Western van lines because they gave me a very good quote. The labor on site was really impressive. They were very skilled, well trained and always very polite. I've moved a couple times before and these guys were the best so far. Definite thumbs up to their services.
The original man, Josh L that I spoke to has not once made himself available for 2 months. Doesn't pick his phone up, doesn't call back. I have wanted to ask him why he never told me about all the extra fees that are in the fine print on the email I was sent. I didn't know about the extra costs. That's what you should be aware of if you use this company, they charge extra per steps, footage from the truck to the front door or garage, elevators, they nit pick at every single little thing. I didn't know about this until the movers showed up, but I paid it anyway. I had no choice at that point. I asked for the 30 free days of storage, and in the middle of that, I get a call from the driver telling me he's going to deliver soon. I said hold on, I still have some time, I'm not ready yet. He told me he was in Texas and I'm in Tennessee, so he realized his mistake and said he'd call me in a week. Never called me and during that time drove to Georgia and dropped off my things there then continued on to Florida. I called him after my days were up to figure out where the hell he was. He said he was in Florida and would make his way to me, never once mentioning that my stuff was in Georgia. I get another email of a $200 holding charge, so I call the supervisor Laura. I tell her the mix up and it's not my fault he didn't call like he said and drove past me and didn't inform me that my stuff was in Georgia. I got that fee removed, and was told that I would get 24 to 48 hours notice before the new driver would get here. He calls me while I'm at work at 8:30pm telling me he's showing up the next morning between 8am-12pm, and calls me so many times that I finally answer only to result in me getting written up at work because I answered my phone. Didn't give me the notice o was promised and got me in trouble because he continuously tried to get a hold of me instead of just leaving me a text or voicemail, or waiting for me to call back. They show up and again ask for an extra $150 to take my stuff all the way up to the garage or instead they'd just drop my stuff at 75 feet and leave it for me to move myself. So inconsiderate, no heart, no care for the customer, no apology for making anything difficult, Laura says I'm the one being difficult to me on the phone. I'm over this. I'm upset, I'm shaking, and I hate this company. Worst moving company ever. Do NOT use them. Waist of your hard earned money.
I would give less Stars if I could. I was given a quote over the phone. The customer representative Josh, was very aggressive saying that the other moving companies were not good and would change a high price. He said that he would give us a better price than any other moving company. He insisted that we give him a deposit in order to lock in the price and the amount of our household goods that we could have delivered. When the movers came they only took a fraction of our household items. He said we were at our limit for the price we were given. We told him we agreed on the price and the items. The mover said that the person agreeing to take our household items didn’t inspect it by square footage. I stated that he didn’t mention anything about square footage just items. He told us how many large, medium and small boxes we could take as well as the furniture. The movers wanted a substantial increase in the price that was originally agreed upon. We tried to contact Josh L the company representative, but he refused to answer his phone or call us back in response to the numerous messages that we left. This was a scam, a setup, a trap, from the beginning. I had to pay twice the price that I had agreed to. I don’t know how many people this company scammed like this, but it has to stop. Once the items that they did deliver arrived many were broken, parts were missing there wasn’t enough movers, and they couldn’t and wouldn’t assemble most of the items.
It isn't a long way from Kansas to Oklahoma. So the question for me was really who would give me the most competitive quote. Western van lines did not give me the lowest, but gave me the most seemingly accurate and through estimate so I decided to hire them. I wasn't expecting them to be too good because the price was quite low. But they proved me wrong. Their men were very skilled and well trained. They looked like they had done it a thousand times before. I didn't have a lot of stuff. So the whole move went very quick and very smooth.
I have hoarded so much stuff that people call me crazy. But each and every piece means something to me. So when I moved from Seattle to Portland, I needed a moving company to be understanding of my feelings. Western van lines did just that. They were very respectful to my valuables. They carried every last piece out of my house and then carried them into my new home within the scheduled time. I am so grateful to them.
My elderly Mother hired Western Van Lines for her move from MN to Kansas City. The rep Marty gave her a very reasonable quote and told her "you have to watch out for these other companies that use 'contractors' to do the moving for them. The day the movers show up, (5 hours late) they tell my Mom that the price will be an additional $1700. They too were 'contractors' and not Western Van Lines Employees. Marty lowballed the bid to get my Mom to sign the contract. I called their "customer service" line and told them that we were very unhappy, misled and that if they didn't make this right, we would contact an attorney. Instead of calling us back to discuss the problem, they contacted the crew and told them to just return everything to my Mom's place and leave her without a moving company. My Mother complained that she had signed a contract and they could not leave her stranded like this...so the driver spitefully ripped the contract up in front of her and left.
I've heard that this business can be shady, have hidden costs, damages, delayed deliveries, etc. I've moved a couple times myself without incident...but this is unacceptable on every level and Westen Van Lines should be ashamed of themselves in not only misleading an elderly woman, but having the WORST "customer service" in the business.
You have been warned.
My opinion: This is likely one of the worst moving companies I have worked with. After the sales honeymoon when you are the top priority for them, the rest of the moving experience was terrible. There was no communication during the move when I asked for a status. I was left in the dark. The delivery took the longest within the last 21st day of the allowable delivery window. While this is allowed contractually, it just makes the worst moving experience ever. No one wants to contract with a company that will deliver your items at the very last possible time and keep you in limbo the whole entire time. When the deliver people came, they did a terrible job. For example, they left a treadmill fully packaged. They should have unpacked it and left it in a place that I desired. Then one item was lost or mostly likely stolen. When filing for claims, they say they will contact you within 7 business days. I called and they said someone will call you back, they never did. I finally got a response and claims will be processed within 60 days. Even though I have an upcoming 2nd coast to coast move, I will make sure I will never use this moving company again.
price doubled. Pickup 5 hrs late delivery 7 days late
I am perplexed with the Revdex.com rating of Western Van Lines (WVL). The experience was horrible. The actual movers were courteous and efficient and showed up on-time but that is where the good experience ended. After that, good luck in determining where your furniture is and when you are going to get it. Do not believe what you are told ! In my opinion my sales agent (Adrian) used deceptive sales practices to get the business. While the actual agreement does say the move could take up to 14 days, I was told when booking that the move would only take about 2 – 5 days because it was only about 500 miles and very few contents. Four frustrating weeks later the goods finally showed up ….. one week beyond the estimated contract term and three weeks beyond what the agent told me. The worst part of the experience was their inability to provide any timeline ….. and this is if you are lucky enough to speak with a person as emails are not answered and voicemails are seldom, if ever, returned. Prior to the goods being picked up they would communicate ….. after pick-up, radio silence.
About two and a half weeks after the goods were picked up in NC and countless phone calls, I was able to get a live person on the phone who told me the goods were still in NC in storage !! I was then directed to dispatch (Jen) who told me the goods would be delivered in two – five days …… but two – five days came and went. I had to spend an additional $1,000 to make arrangements to receive the goods as a result of their missed commitment dates. To Jen’s credit, once I had her as a contact she was willing to communicate with me as best she could. Four weeks after they first picked up the goods they were finally delivered.
Read the other recent reviews both on Revdex.com and other places …. many had the same experience. Don't know if all moving companies are this unreliable but avoid WVL. If you could provide negative stars I would.
DO NOT USE THESE MOVERS. DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM. My things were DELAYED, BROKEN, AND MISSING. If I could do my move all over again, I would save myself SO much stress by never, ever using this company. A family member chose these movers for me and I so wish I had done my own research.
1. Delayed
My items were picked up on June 13. This was an interstate move across four states. The first available delivery date was June 17. Items sat in their Kansas City warehouse until July 17 and were finally delivered on July 20!!! I was without essential items in my new place for a full month. We were told it would be more like two weeks max, but that was an outright lie so we would book with them. Whenever I tried to call the person in charge of long distance moves (Laura) the phone would ring and go to voicemail. She never once picked up. I left many messages asking her to call me, the destination person - my name and number were in the file - but every time she called the number for the pickup person, who then had to relay the message to me. Then I noticed that when I called her number, I couldn't even leave a voicemail for her anymore - I would just get routed directly to customer service. Is this woman even doing her job?
2. Broken
The back of my tall bookcase got smashed in during the move, and the lids of two of my plastic storage bins got completely mangled. One cardboard box arrived ripped all down the side; most were smashed.
3. Missing
I had a leather loveseat (expensive when new - and the item/manufacturer is now out of business) and the two back pieces could be taken off for easier moving. Those back pieces are now GONE and Western Van Lines is making 0 effort to find them. I have half a couch now which might as well be no couch because it's non-functional without the back. Where could they have gone??? I am not holding my breath that they'll find them considering everything that's happened so far. I also don't think we'll get anything near the cost of a replacement back.
Long distance relocations are always tricky. Western van lines made that trip all the way from California to Colorado seem so easy. They do this for a living of course! I was quite a fussy customer but they dealt with me very cordially. I have to give it to them, they really know how to work magic with the services they offer. They employ very skilled men who truly know the ins and outs of the moving & storage industry. I gained a lot of respect for these men and Western during my move last week.
BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! Western Van Lines saved my life. I had to leave in a week and they picked me up IN THREE DAYS. They quoted me $7925 for my large three bedroom house. It took me awhile to complete the inventory list, but they informed me that my price goes off of my actual space in the truck, so I bit the bullet and got it done. On move day they stuck to their price and as I was thorough with my list. The were careful, kind, and respectful the entire time. I don't know what these other reviews are about because it really seems like their estimates are only as good as the information you give them (obviously). Anyway, I would highly recommend Western to all of my family and friends. Cheers!
My wife has a phobia of relocation. She always gets nervous of the thought of having to pack up everything. It's probably because she is a dedicated hoarder and wants to leave nothing behind. When a better opportunity came, I had to move from Seattle, WA to Crystal City, TX. My wife became very worried about how to move with all the stuff we own. I called many moving companies and finally hired Western van lines to do the job. As it turned out, these guys took on the responsibility like pros. They were very organized, and paid attention to every little detail. We received the delivery from them in Texas right on schedule. This move couldn’t have been any easier.
TERRIBLE service. Bryan sounded great over the phone and promised a wonderful service but they called me the morning of my move across the country and told me that they wouldn't be able to move me because of my pickup location. Therefore, the morning of, I had to try to find a *** to load and move myself. Absolutely pathetic and disgraceful. This should have been determined and dealt with the day that I signed up for the moving service. They had access to GPS and maps and should have a clear route to determine whether they would be able to pick me up or not. And to call me the morning of my move and tell me that they couldn't pick me up is ridiculous and left me in a really bad situation. I would NEVER EVER recommend them to anyone. Do NOT trust them with any of the details they promise you. Find another company!
I honestly cannot understand how Western Van Lines (WVL) has such a good rating on the Revdex.com. My wife and I recently contracted with them to facilitate our move from Salt Lake City to Boston, and we were frustrated almost every step of the way. I do not recommend anyone hire this company to facilitate their move, unless you really don?t care about any of your belongings.
I should note that WVL subcontracted with another company, Oasis Moving and Storage, to actually complete our move. In other words, WVL was more or less the broker, and Oasis was the company that transported our stuff. I wish I had known that beforehand as Oasis has lackluster reviews, and rightfully so, but I had never heard of them until the movers showed up in Salt Lake City. As a result, this review is for both WVL and Oasis.
I made our reservation about six weeks before our move. My initial interaction with an employee from WVL was probably the only time I felt comfortable and satisfied with their service to date. This employee was very friendly and explained what we could expect over the days and weeks leading up to our move. At the time, I selected a pick-up window of either June 19th or June 20th (they have to allow two days based on scheduling, which is understandable). About three weeks in advance of our move, I called the aforementioned employee directly to change our window to June 18th and June 19th instead, as my wife and infant son booked a flight out of Salt Lake City on the 20th; I had a 10-hour drive ahead of me on that day, so we wanted to get our stuff out earlier in order to allow more time to clean. I was told this was no problem at all, and the change was documented.
Fast forward to the week of our move. I was told I would receive a call from an employee in the quality assurance department a few days in advance of our movers arriving to get our final inventory list documented, and sure enough, that call came on June 16th. This employee was also friendly and professional, but when I attempted to confirm our pick-up date window of June 18th and 19th, he said he did not see my previous request documented, and it was still listed as June 19th and 20th. Clearly the first employee I worked with failed to communicate this change. I would later find that communication in general is one of the major challenges this company has. I explained our situation, and the second employee said he would do what he could to get it pushed through. I actually received a call from a general manager from WVL (I believe that was his title), and talked through our situation further. He said he would do what he could as well, and worst-case scenario, the movers would arrive very early in the morning on June 20th, which wasn?t ideal, but I could work with it. Unfortunately, that was not to be. I was told by this gentleman that I would receive a call from a dispatcher approximately 24 hours before the movers were to arrive, so I waited.
I did not receive a call until the evening of June 18th informing me that our movers would not be able to arrive until June 20th. Again, I spoke to another WVL associate who assured me that the movers would arrive first thing in the morning of June 20th so my wife could make her flight and I could finish cleaning before hitting the road. I receive a call around midday on June 19th, and am told our movers will arrive between 2-5pm the following day. Of course, I pushed back as I had received multiple assurances. Another communication breakdown. I received a call a short while later and was told the movers would arrive between 7-9am the following morning. We could work with that, so I was hopeful. I was told I would receive a call from the movers about 30 minutes to an hour before they expected to arrive.
On the morning of June 20th, my wife and I were waiting for that call. I had heard nothing by 8am, so I attempted calling my three contacts at WVL to get an update. All numbers went to voicemail, so I left messages. Granted, this was a Saturday, but I was told I could always get in touch with someone from WVL. This didn?t appear to be immediately true. Between 9:30-10am, I see a moving truck driving down our street. We flag it down and ask them if they are looking for us (by giving them our last name). They said yes. Although they were about an hour late, at least they made it. Apparently, they were given an incorrect phone number, so they had trouble contacting me to find our house. Yet another internal communication breakdown. These movers ? who were two stronger guys (which I mention for reference later) ? were professional and efficient, and I was happy with how quickly they moved our stuff out. They handed me some paperwork to fill out, including a credit card charge for pickup, which I was expecting. However, I did not expect to see ?Oasis? on the paperwork as I was never told I would be working with this company, but they had all of my information so I assumed this company was affiliated with WVL. I think it would be prudent for WVL to inform their customers that a different company would actually be moving their things so they wouldn?t be as surprised as I was. Another communication breakdown. I was able to clean our remaining things quickly and hit the road, albeit a few hours later than I intended. I was hopeful that was the worst of it.
I was originally told that moving our things from Salt Lake City to Boston could range between 5-21 days, so I had that expectation. I told the first employee I spoke to that we would be ready to receive our items by June 25th, and he told me he had that documented. We planned our arrival in Boston to coincide with the earliest possible delivery date with the knowledge that our things may arrive a few days later. I also had the expectation that my things would begin to be moved shortly after they were picked up. On June 24th, I receive a call from someone at Oasis asking for the earliest date on which we could receive our things. Frustrated by yet another communication breakdown, I told her. I was also told I would receive a call soon informing me when my things were on the way. I didn?t receive that call until June 26th ? six days after Oasis had picked our things up ? that my things had just left their distribution center (or wherever they store their filled trucks), and we could expect our things to arrive within a week. I don?t know why I was told things could arrive within five days when WVL/Oasis held onto our stuff for six days before having the truck was en route to our new home, so my frustration was mounting.
I arrived in Boston by car on June 27th, and sought updates over the course of the next week as to where my things were. You would think that with the technology available today ? GPS trackers and the like ? a moving company could tell you where your things are so you can make a ballpark assumption as to when they will arrive. The woman I spoke to on a few occasions at Oasis? operations center said that all she could tell me was that the truck left their distribution center June 26th and it was en route, and that a dispatcher would give me a 24-hour notice before our movers arrived. It was frustrating to simply wait for someone to call me. I don?t think it is unreasonable to expect more frequent updates over the course of a week instead of being left in the lurch. Furthermore, it was up to my wife and me to call/text persistently in order to get any kind of information, as opposed to them reaching out to update us. Communication can and needs to be improved.
We were hoping our stuff would arrive prior to the July 4th holiday, but it was not to be. I received a call the evening of July 5th from a dispatcher who informed me that our things would arrive the following morning, July 6th. My wife and I had been sleeping on an air mattress for the last 7-8 days, so we were excited to get our stuff. I received a call from our movers in the morning, and they were arriving earlier than expected that day ? which was good news to me. When I went out to meet them ? expecting to see another two stronger guys just as before ? I was met by a couple likely in their late 50s. The woman was maybe 100 lbs. soaking wet, and the guy was also a bit smaller. We have some heavy furniture, so I was surprised that these two were to be responsible for moving everything safely up to our apartment. This is not to say women are unable to move furniture, but I was expecting hired movers to be equipped with more physical strength. I watched these two aggressively push some of our bigger pieces ? like an armoire and double dresser ? on some of the flat moving dollies, and witnessed some exposed edges get chipped and otherwise damaged when they bumped into something. If you pay several thousand dollars for these services, I don?t think it is unreasonable to expect movers to at least put some level of thoughtfulness into someone else?s belongings. To this couple?s credit, they did get the belongings of ours, which they had in their truck, into our apartment ? with some damage done.
Several items are missing and damaged, and we have logged claims. We have a very nice dining table ? a Haverty?s Timber Ridge dining set ? that was $1,000 new. We are now unable to use it because WVL/Oasis lost the legs to it. A table is useless without legs, so now we are having to use a card table I bought from Target and store our dining table in the limited space we have. My golf clubs ? a Ping golf bag and matching clubs ? were also lost or stolen, and are easily worth $400-500. Our desk chair arrived with a missing wheel, so it is also basically useless as it is unstable when attempting to sit on it now. My desk has a deep puncture on it, and although the desk is still usable, the damage is very visible. The legs to our armoire have large chips and missing pieces of wood. Many items were significantly damaged or destroyed in some cases, and it looks like some of our boxes and tubs were obliterated then haphazardly taped back together. These included boxes clearly marked ?FRAGILE,? but that must not have much meaning to the movers. A vintage 1900?s mirror, a decorative, handmade ceramic plate (which we did use at our wedding, so significant sentimental value), a picture frame, and several pieces of glassware were completely destroyed, despite being copiously coated in bubble wrap and packed securely. Some of the belongings in the boxes and tubs taped back together were also absolutely filthy. This includes items such as baby toys, my wife?s breast pump supplies, and baby clothes, all of which should be kept as clean as possible. It really seems as though WVL/Oasis had little to no regard for how our things were packed in their trucks so long as it was packed in some way.
Perhaps one of the most ridiculous things that happened over this entire process occurred as the movers delivering my items were wrapping up. I now live in an apartment building with elevators, which the movers were allowed to use. As part of my contract with WVL/Oasis, I had a $75 elevator fee in lieu of fees associated with moving furniture up/down stairways. I thought this elevator fee was kind of ridiculous in the first place: $75 to push a button? At any rate ? whatever ? I agreed to it as it is WVL?s/Oasis? policy. I accompanied the movers down to the truck to look for the table legs and golf clubs, but they were nowhere to be found. As I was about to head back to my apartment and begin unpacking, the movers ask me for an additional $150 for using the elevator. I had already given them the agreed upon amount stipulated in my contract (which was a post office money order). I explained I already had a $75 elevator fee included in my contract. The guy argued with me, and said he would take $75. He claimed it was $75 elevator fee per floor. LOL what?! An extra $75 for moving your finger an inch and waiting in an elevator for an additional 10 seconds? The couple were refusing to leave until I paid them. I called my contact at Oasis operations center, and to her credit, she got the dispatcher to whom these movers report to call them and explain that they were not entitled to anything additional. It really was a fitting end to the experience thus far: someone attempting to scam me out of more money.
I have submitted our claims to recoup our items or be compensated for what was lost/stolen and damaged. I am very hopeful that the A+ rating WVL has is indicative of their ability to make their customers whole. My experience was immensely frustrating and disappointing, and I would not recommend them to anyone. We definitely will take our business elsewhere for our next move.
They picked up belongings on June 19, 2020. We were told they would be shipped and stored in Arizona and delivery to Home and public storage was to be determined but less than one month (free storage for one month). Called them on Monday, July 6 and on July 7 -- no one answers. Finally get phone call on July 8 -- don't know where belongings are but are supposed to call -- yet to hear from them.). Every time we dealt with them, the terms changed. I have yet to receive any of my belongings -- and if I do, I expect them to have opened up every box and taken what they want to sell and then tell me it was damaged in shipment. I was not given time to read the final papers that I signed. Now that we are waiting for my stuff to be delivered, I have had time to read their "fine" print -- i.e., I hereby release Western Van Lines of all responsibility for my account bills, currency, deeds, evidence of debt, money notes, securities, jewelry, watches, and precious stones, unless these items have been declared to the carrier prior to the shipment." ONLY WAY CARRIER WOULD HAVE ACCESS TO ANYTHING LIKE THIS IS TO INTENTIONALLY OPEN THE BOXES. I have put a hold on credit card charges -- I will not pay to be robbed!!!
