I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. To reiterate my interaction and the basis of my complaint with Mike M*** of USA Insulation: In the fall of I called the office to ask to proceed with the blown insulation in the crawl space area under a game room addition to my home. Mark came out to look at the job himself as, in his own words, he did not have faith in the estimate given to me earlier in the year by his former employeeUpon review, he agreed that the estimate was adequate and also assessed for himself that the game room was significantly colder than the rest of the house, specifically by degreesHe took the time to shine a flashlight into the crawl space and concurred that the problem was not in the heating system, but rather the fact that the entire area was not insulatedHe said that after performing the work, my “toes would be warm and the game room would be the warmest room in the house”There was absolutely no mention of taking infrared pictures, measuring the temperature at the registers or windows or anything else that now seems to be his defense as to why the room is still coldAs a so called professional, I believe this should have been an integral part of his assessment before giving me assurance of a warm roomThat being said, his crew of two young men came to my house the morning after Thanksgiving, worked politely and efficiently and was gone by the early afternoonAs they were finishing, I called the office and paid the agreed upon price of $as the company policy is payment in full when the work is completedIt was an unusually warm day. The weather significantly changed over the weekend and it was immediately obvious that the game room was not noticeably warmerSpecifically it was degrees colder than the rest of my homeWe would still not be able to use the room with any semblance of comfort without an additional form of heatThe first thing Monday morning I called the company to discuss my concernI was told my message would be passed on to MrM***I was ignoredI again called two weeks later and was assured that my first message was passed on and that this second message would be as wellI heard nothingThis is when I contacted the Revdex.comIt was not until this point that MrM*** addressed the situationHe came to my home and had the nerve to say I should be happy that the room is only degrees colderAs was previously stated, he was belligerent to me and disparaged a former and current employeeWhen he denied this in correspondence with the Revdex.com, he was lyingHe threatened to come to my place of employment and complain about the experience as a form of retributionI twice had to ask him to leave before he did soI’ve been a homeowner for nearly years and in that time have had numerous contractors perform work for meI’ve never had an experience such as thisI paid $for a warm room, was told I’d have a warm room and this is not even remotely the caseI voiced my concerns and was ignored until I contacted the Revdex.comEven knowing my dissatisfaction, I have not been offered any resolution from MrM*** other than the outrageous demand to pay him another $and he will tear the insulation out and only then refund a portion of my moneyThis, in my opinion, is clearly not an ethical or reasonable solutionThank you again for your time

MaryThe customer expects insulation to heat his laundry room Insulation is designed to keep heat/cold into a space longer, similar to a igloo It does not heat a space This space is confined and unheated so it will not be any warmer This is now a civil
action.ThanksJim M*** | President

USA Insulation offered to re-investigate the customers home, and to provide, if necessary, any supplementation to the insulation at absolutely no cost. The customer refused to have any more work performed on her home. At that point, our hands were tied, and we considered the matter
closed. However, we are more than willing to address the customers concerns and to explore additional insulation options if she is so willing

To whom it may concern/I am writing this email to cancel/withdraw my complaint against USA insulation.I was contacted by this company and they explained to me that an email was supposed to be sent to me to confirm the completion of my attic insulation without any additional charges. unfortunately,...

the employee responsible was out and the email was not sent. They contacted me and assure me it was an honest mistake and they promised to finish the job. Please, I urgently request to withdraw my complaint as this matter is resolving smoothly and in a professional manner.[redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me if the terms as outlined in my original complaint are met. The room must be made significantly warmer or I would like a refund accordingly.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Please know that I had a heating professional come to my house prior to calling USA Insulation and was told without a doubt that my furnace and duct work were not the issue in the game room addition being a solid 5 degrees colder than the rest of the house. Mr. M[redacted], upon inspection of the area, agreed. He experienced first hand the differential and said nothing about taking infrared pictures, monitoring register issues, or any of the other solutions he's now coming up with to make the area warmer. He simply said, with great confidence and no caveats, that if I have the insulation installed this room would be the warmest in the house. I paid him $3500 and did not get anything near that result, making me feel that I was defrauded and taken advantage of.Regards,[redacted]

We hired this company after talking to them at an event. They were advertising for a type of insulation that was a premium injection of foam. When we had them look at our home they decided that we needed regular blown in insulation but promised that it was a better then what we had and what we could just buy ourselves. We were extremely disappointed because we had planned on their premium foam product being used to keep our great room warmer but decided that they were professionals and allowed them to talk us into the other product. The first winter We had to have them come out to add additional insulation after it was inspected to find that there were areas that were not insulated. By the next winter we still noticed how cold the room was and had it checked by thermal imaging to find that there were still areas uninsulated. We have made attempts to contact the company to resolve and they do not call us back. We have offered to show them our pictures of thermal imaging. It is extremely disappointing that we were talked out of the product that we thought would work best only to have a product that we feel was used because it was simply quicker and cheaper for them and we still have to use an additional heater to keep the room warm.

Mr. [redacted], just as with all of our customers are offered multiple finance options, however, when we submitted his credit application he was only approved for the one program in which he was presented with a contract that he read and sign.  I am not sure what the problem is, I feel USA has...

performed it's job correctly.

I was very satisfied with the work done to my home. House is staying warmer which helps with the heating bill alot. Also we dont hear as much outside noise which is nice. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking to make their home more efficient

This is an extremely rare and unfortunate reaction to what is universally accepted as the finest insulation application in the industry.  We are very sorry to hear of this customers dissatisfaction.  While we are extraordinarily busy at throughout the year, and especially so in the colder...

seasons, we take these sort of issues very seriously and will make every effort to bring resolution to the matter as soon as possible.   Sincerely,             Mike M[redacted] - Owner, USA Insulation of Pittsburgh

Reasonable price. Got the job done when promised. Clean, efficient. [redacted] was terrific. Understood my concerns and suggested the best way to fix the problem.
Highly recommended.

I am writing today to reopen my complaint against USA Insulation based on the visit I had this morning with Mike M[redacted], the business owner. As you will see in the communication history, I agreed to the businesses response of resolving the matter if my terms were met. They most certainly were not. Mr. M[redacted] was belligerent to the point of accusing me of being a person who "obviously is never satisfied" and one that is prone to complaining. He denied telling me the newly insulated area would be "the warmest room in the house" (his exact words and the reason I agreed to the work)  and instead said I should be happy that it's only 3 degrees colder. He disparaged his employees, calling the one that gave the initial quote incompetent and said that another is not performing her job satisfactorily due to her pregnancy. He also said that if I pay him another $3500 he'd bring in a dumpster, rip out all the insulation, and only then refund 75% of my money. I am dissatisfied.  Extremely dissatisfied. Please advise where to go from this point forward.Thank you for your time.[redacted]

We had USA Insulation insulate our home in December 2014. The office staff, salesman and install team were all very professional. The installers could not do the installation from the outside due to multiple layers of wooden siding under the vinyl siding therefore they had to install from the inside. The installers were very professional and they were compassionate about my furniture and belongings. The install team did a great job with mudding the holes in the wall and cleaning up their mess. Before having the insulation, my home was very uncomfortable with drafts and cold air. I have seen a huge improvement in my utility bills and my house is a lot more comfortable. I would recommend USA Insulation to anyone and they are also on the Vectren rebate program.

I cant believe how this experience has changed my life! Before I used USA Insulation my house was freezing in the winter time and my family dressed in layers with space heaters in all of our bedrooms. The summer time was miserable and our utilities bills were almost as much as our mortgage payments. The USA wall foam has made my home comfortable and my utility bills have not exceeded $200. Everyone that I came in contact with from USA was very professional and I had a great experience.

It is the stance of USA Insulation that the job at Mrs. Gentile's residence was done expertly and to the specs and cost agreed upon by all parties involved.  We are very curious to know more about the findings of the HVAC technician who claims the heating system is in no way responsible for the temperature differentials between rooms despite evidence that the forced air temperatures read a full 20 degrees cooler in the room in question.  It is also our stance that spray foam insulation is not a hit-or-miss application.  When applied, it outperforms any other type of insulation that exists today.  Our reputation precedes us as a company that strives to meet or exceed customer expectations.

We, at USA Insulation, are profoundly sorry that this customer does not accept that there will be great benefits received from the work performed at her home.  Based on her dissatisfaction, I visited her to provide a full inspection of the areas covered to ensure that our work was performed to spec and that full attention to detail was adhered to.  It is always my hope and intention to find a minor imperfection or an area that was overlooked for one reason or another to fully satisfy the customers expectations.  After a visual inspection of all areas treated and a meticulous, exhaustive scan using the finest infrared camera and temperature readings we have at our disposal, my finding were this:  1.  The crawl space areas we were contracted to spray foam were insulated immaculately.  2.  The wall temperatures in the unconditioned areas of the crawl space read a full 5 degrees WARMER than wall spaces, not indicated in our contract, of the living areas of the home.  3.  The heating registers in the game room above the crawl space we insulated, read 20 degrees COOLER than all the registers in the rest of the house.  Indicative of an imbalance of the static pressure of the duct work and also an HVAC issue, not an insulation issue.  4.  Temperature readings at her doors and windows in the area we insulated read between 29 and 40 degrees, indicating faulty seals at both; also not an insulation issue. After presenting my findings with the customer, she did not accept them.  I told her that if the small issues plaguing the area were addressed, the insulation would indeed perform terrifically, which spray foam insulation does each and every time.  I again reviewed with her the impossibility of a room being warmer than the rest of the house, despite any amount of insulation, that if the furnace is not supplying adequate heat, it simply will not be so.Her contention was that I should have known and recognized all of these other defects before proceeding with the job.  We are insulation professionals, and consider ourselves to be the most meticulous and caring insulation contractor in the area.  We put on no pretenses that we are going to pinpoint and predict all of the other weaknesses a home might have.  Insulating walls, crawl spaces, attics and garage ceilings has become a common practice since the early seventies, and anyone who questions the sensibility of doing so, and refuses to accept the benefits of doing so.....well, should probably do a little more homework before contacting an insulation company, specifically indicating areas the they would like to insulate, and having the work performed at a very fair and reasonable cost.As to her recollections of our conversation inside of our home, I'll not stoop to dignify them with any other response than this.  I respect and hold dear the many thousands of customers we have helped over the last decade, and I absolutely cherish the employees and the families of those that work so hard to preserve our incredible track record of service for those customers.Sincerely,Mike M[redacted]OwnerUSA Insulation of Pittsburgh

Their product does not live up to the hype that the salesman gave it and we are dissatisfied with the result. He verbally guaranteed repeatedly that we would have lower utility bills and experience a noticeable difference in the top floor once insulation was installed and neither have occurred. There are still unusable spaces in our home because the insulation did not make any difference. We feel that we paid a lot of money for nothing and feel very cheated.
I have contacted this company numerous times and they have not returned my calls. I also attempted to contact them via Facebook and received a message that they couldn't locate me (I do not use the same last name on FB) but now their message is unavailable so I cannot respond. I think they deleted it. That has been the extent of their customer service follow up.
