of our system. Accordingly, if he is receiving marketing emails and spam then those emails are from companies not related to TruthFinder. Spam, such as what he is receiving, is not uncommon and there are many ways that these email marketers may obtain an email address. This is especially true if the email used was a widely available email used for business purposes. We do understand that spam can be a frustrating problem. We do publish phone number reports as part of our reverse phone lookup service. We obtain this publicly available data from a number of data providers. Mr. [redacted] had not previously provided his phone number for the purpose of opting it out of our phone report service. Once Mr. [redacted] provided that number to TruthFinder, we removed his number from our phone report service. Results no longer appear when that phone is searched on our service. Their website is intentionally constructed so to defraud the customers and this is not new type of fraud. If I would have known that they are signing me up for a subscription I would cancel it after using it once. The complaint will not be resolved unless I receive all the money that I was overcharged.

Our site does make it clear that a customer will be charged monthly until they call in to cancel. When a customer signs up for an Instant Checkmate account, they must agree to the billing terms. The Billing Details on our register page states (membership prices may vary): Your membership will automatically renew for the same term unless you cancel before the start of the next term. Instant Checkmate will charge the recurring membership fee of $34.78 or $83.47 (depending on the membership option you select) to the same card you use today until you cancel. To cancel, call 1-800-222-8985 24 hours a day.In addition, to access the the report, customers must check a box which provides their electronic signature authorizing Instant Checkmate to charge their card for the agreed amount every month until they cancel. As previously stated, we are unable to provide [redacted] with his desired refund due to the chargeback placed on his account.
